The overall reputation of the company reflects significant dissatisfaction among customers, primarily due to inadequate customer service and a lack of accountability. Many reviews highlight issues such as harsh refund policies, unresponsive support, and problems with fraudulent listings, leading to frustrations over lost funds and unresolved complaints. While some customers appreciate the variety of accommodations offered, the overwhelming sentiment indicates a lack of trust in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and take greater responsibility for the listings it promotes.

Worst experience ever booking.com double booked to turned to no room really worse experience ever
Booked through Booking.com and I never book unless it's refundable, so I booked as it specifically states refundable up to 7 days prior to arrival... I had to cancel and did so 3 weeks in advance and they got me for $110. I am a single mom and was ripped off... never again will I book with that hotel or booking.com!
I made reservation thru this website and decided to cancel because of the horrible location of the hotel. It never gave explanation of the location (prostitution area). To all this there was a charge of $90
Dollar but it says free cancellation? We'll never got my $90 back. NEVER AGAIN
I booked a hotel through booking.com as it was listed at a great price and I'm on a budget. I did the book now, pay later option. My flight was delayed and I got to my hotel around 11:00. The office was locked, there was no answer at the local number and calls I made to booking.com (and I tried more than one number) went unanswered or through so many switch overs my call was lost. Long story short, I was left in a city I hadn't been in before (Phoenix) with no place to stay at 11:00 at night. Booking.com then charged me a 50 dollar "cancellation" fee after I had called, emailed and tried in vain to contact the hotel I had reserved the room with. I left a negative review on their site and was told the couldn't post my review because I hadn't actually stayed at the hotel! I'll never use booking.com again. The next time I think I see a good deal there, I'll just light a 50 dollar bill on fire and sleep in my car!
Booking.com is doing a fraud with their business policy and worst customer service as an USA based company.
I have an international hotel booking for Medinah, SA with booking.com, the Booking number: *******. It was done about 4-5 weeks prior to travel and everything was assured by Booking.com. But on the date of arrival, my hotel booking was cancelled just 2 hours before my arrival and while I was in flight, left me stranded with my family with no where to go in a highly peaked season. Booking.com was saying they sent me an email, but I was in fligth at that time. According to Booking.com, hotel marked the credite card as invalid, whereas I have booked other international hotels without any issue for same trip. This is ridiculous. If the internatinal hotels are trying to do the transaction, why did we rely on booking.com, why not calling them directly?
Also, after I back to US, I tried to call the Booking.com customer service, first time the lady hung up when I asked to talk to manager. Then second time the manager just say sorry, but did nothing to compensate my misery and booking the high priced hotel on that night.
I will absolutely NOT recommend Booking.com and will try my best to warn everyone about their worst customer service. Please try its competetors for better service and not stand in foreign soil with nightmare.
Hotels and B and B's deliberately over rated probably for bigger share of commission. It is actually far far cheaper using a household name like travel lodge as there standards are extremely high because of the obvious reason of reputation. Used booking dot com. They are just a money making machine. Not interested in your holiday or if u had a pleasant stay or not. Also a site that tells lies. I have the proof. I hope this review will be helpful to at least one person.
Booked thru booking.com
Would not help with getting money back from hotel with roaches and not cleaned for unused days
Keeped saying we need picture of roaches
Ever tried to get a roach to pose
Finally got the pics and showed hotel manager and got back 75 % of room cost but not with the help of booking.com
Stick with Expedia
They won't help you if there are any issues with your booking- they are very intent on not taking any ownership and will only offer a $20 credit as a "courtesy." When you ask for someone above a "supervisor," they will tell you there is no one above them and they also don't have a way to reach their corporate offices. Lying to customers is unethical! Worst service ever- consumers beware!
Be very careful when booking with Booking.com, i was charged more than what was agreed when booked a hotel on line, then when i rang Booking.com to complain they came out with a load of rubbish and just didn't want to know. Wont be using them again.
Not trustworthy! Only trust written text with them. Service by phone not reliable!
In November 2015 we booked a 1 week holiday in Waikiki, Hawaii in what they described as "Waikiki Grand One Bedroom Condo". When we arrived we found it was just a studio/hotel room which did not even have a table and chairs and not even a wash basin or power point in the bathroom. A far cry from a One bedroom condo! Furthermore the advert stated:
-the condo was 46m when in fact it was only 28m
-that toiletries were supplied when they weren't
-that the condo had a city/garden view when all you could see was the leaves and branches of a huge tree hard up against the window.
-that it slept 2-4 but the other 2 had to sleep on an uncomfortable, worn-out sofa bed.
The apartment was significantly sub-standard.
When we brought all this to the attention of booking com they simply forwarded our complaint to the apartment advertiser and took no responsibility for their part.
The advertiser of the condo naturally refused the refund request and the advert still remains with the same deceitful, misleading description.
Seriously both the advertiser of the property and booking.com should be held accountable and brought to justice.
Like others here we wont be using them again.
They deceived me on the cancellation policy. On the room information website it said you could cancel without penalty, but when I got the confirmation email, it said there was no refund upon cancellation.
Just call the hotel directly to avoid this. Booking.com scammed me.
I usually book through this site and if they cannot handle any commitment they come back with a concrete solution on the spot to decide freely.
Booking.com did not make the reservation at the hotel, even though we had a confirmation from Booking, and even though we had at least two emails from Booking reminding us of our upcoming stay. Then, when we arrived at the hotel late at night to find that there was no reservation and no rooms available, Booking told us that we would have to deal with the hotel and that they would 'look into' refunding our money.
We were told at the hotel that this happens all the time with Booking.com
Stay away. Use someone else is my advice.
ONLY put 5 so it would be read. I used booking.com a few times and had no issues, however... Last month for me and my husbands anniversary we booked a place for a few nights. While out to dinner on our first night we received a phone call from a different hotel asking us when we would be arriving. I had never even heard of and never received any confirmation emails about. I received multiple reminders about the hotel we did book but not ONE about this other hotel we supposedly booked the same weekend as the other. We ended up paying $200 for the first night at the place we were not even staying at... needless to say I was very frustrated and when I called booking.com they would not do anything about it. They said on there end that they sent a confirmation email. We looked on both my husband and my email history & spam up till the day that I supposedly booked the other hotel and there was NO email confirmation about it nor were their any reminders like for the hotel I actually did book. Not use this site you will loose time and money you work hard for!
Booked our hotel through booking.com easily and with many different options. BUT. Once arriving to the hotel that we had received an email confirmation through booking. The guy at the front desk informed us that booking messed up and they didn't have any rooms available and have been booked for the past two days. We had to wait for booking to call us back to figure out a solution. We found another place on booking that was just a little more which they said they will pay the difference in prices for our inconvenience, but that hasn't happened yet so we will have to wait and see.
The worst most scandalous dishonesty with booking.com
I booked a single room at the Gatelodge Inn I was given a 4 person family room which was a dump and refunded 1/2
Then another room was booked as single given double room I've lost $700 because of their dishonest practices
I would never recommend anyone use this service
WE travel extensively and tried Booking.com. We tried to make a change to our hotel stay and our hotel told us we had to contact them! We asked them 4 days in advance to cancel our last night and the computer said"No changes are available"! So we lost our 405.00 for our last night stay--! The hotel would have honored our request to cancel if we had booked with them directly! So watch our if you need to make a change as they will benefit--not the customer. Now, we know and will never use them again! There loss our gain---as we travel a lot! SOK
We stayed in a private room with a private bathroom. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Wifi is free and reliable. The location is close to everything and the price is lower than most hotels in the area. There's a lot of construction and noise in the area, but the hotel is located downtown, so the noise comes with the territory. Decent place for the price for sure.
I booked a hotel in Dallas TX that was advertising pet friendly (Tropicana Inn and suites) they refused my reservation and booking.com and the hotel are now trying charge me a cancellation fee equal to one night. Which they will fail at become I am smarter..
Answer: In my case they took my payment information and paid the hotel where I was going to be staying. Only to find out that the hotel was out of business and I had to prove that it was charged to my account. They did not find me a replacement hotel to stay in for the same price. Nor did they care that I was left without a place to stay. So beware before you purchase.
Answer: Don't waste time with booking.com. They have horrible customer service and will make every attempt to cheat you. Simply report the problem to your credit card company to get your refund.
Answer: Run. Run away. This company and the company used to insure their bookings are scams.
Answer: I don't know why you're even using this site Stephanie. Their after sales is disgusting! Recommend travel Republic. Great prices and options
Answer: You pay a non refundable price on line. When you check into your hotel, it's billed to your Bookings.com reservation plus incidentals (local calls, parking fees, resort fees, dining, bar fees, Europe charges local or city tax, spa fees...) the hotel will ask for a card as a hold for these fees. Use bookings.com, find the hotel you wish to stay in (get all info and contact them directly via website and price match) the Marriott in Rome had a room for $80.00 less on the Marriott website than these, so called MONEY SAVING SITES.
Answer: It depends on the hotel some don't charge until you arrive at hotel more will charge your card straight away check your booking it should tell you there
Answer: Trevago is hooked into Booking.com don't make a mistake and let trevago send you to booking.com go to Hotel.com which is more professional. I had to go to American Express customer serviced to complain and they gave a dead line for explanation. They had no explanation for crappy service and had to repay me.
Answer: NOT BOOKING.CON
Answer: You will need to pay taxes in addition to the quoted price. Call the motel and they will tell you about the taxes. A few places still don't charge exttra taxes e.g. Harris Ranch in California.
Answer: You can't. That's the whole idea. You provide a service, and your customers get to give their review of your place and your services.
