Purchased a template on a great sale. The site is easy to setup and easy enough to use once you get the hang of it. Had some issues with getting the cart option to work, it took almost two weeks due to the length of time it takes them to respond and because the guy answering kept saying the SAME EXACT thing every time. I finally figured it out myself.
A few weeks late, having trouble with the site. Email in, takes a couple days to hear back. The guy who helped was actually helpful if slow. Fine.
A few weeks after that, having the same trouble again. This time the guy who helps basically tells me it's my fault I'm doing something wrong he can't do anything blah blah blah (this takes 2 weeks to happen) then magically the site is fixed. Hmmm...
Having trouble once again with client galleries. The bugs within the templates are ridiculous. And guess what? Just found out in my template clients can save from an iPad! Yikes!
This template has to go when the term is up. Which sucks because I love the site, it's beautiful. But if it's not functional at least 95% of the time I'm spending time and money to get it where I need it to be.
Websites are beautiful and easy to build. Very little customization allowed. Always something wrong with the site and I spent a lot of time trying to fix stuff. Customer service isnt the best.
Bought a template, BluyDomain charged my Credit Card. Never heard from them. Tried to contact BluDomain with their ticket system. No response. BluDomain got my money, I got nothing.

I realize I will only be echoing the other 140 horrible reviews for this company, but anyone who has read the multitude of 1-star reviews of Bludomain and decides to go with them is seriously a crazy glutton for punishment! I will say, they have a wonderful tech team who has always been helpful, smart, timely, and they have always helped me get my problems figured out… BUT….
The problem is their billing person (Aundrea) who has singlehandedly ruined the company. I stayed with them far too long because I'm not web-IT-savvy, and I kept hoping I could avoid the headache of a new website, email, and getting my domain name switched. Every year, I paid my invoices within a couple of days of receiving them, and often, I was even proactive when I didn't receive an invoice on time and reached out to THEM to get an invoice and pay early. But EVERY year, in the middle of my business, without word or notice, my website and email were shut down for "non-payment of my fees". Immediately, I had to begin proving that I did in fact pay my fees by providing paid receipts. However, when I provided copies of my receipts, Aundrea ignored my MANY (from 5 or more) attempts to get it straightened out. Then, without ever having responded to my tickets, my site would magically re-appear - but up to 2 weeks later! 2 weeks with no email, no website, no response from them! Then… the exact same thing would happen again the next year! This year was the last straw!
I can not stress enough what a nightmare trying to run a photography business has been while having so much of my business dependent on whether or not my website and email were working! I wouldn't wish my experience on my worst enemy!
We appreciate you taking the time to express your concerns. We always aim to resolve any issues our clients might face with the utmost professionalism and efficiency.
However, I must clarify that our records indicate a different scenario regarding the payment history and communication attempts. According to our billing department, there have been consistent delays in the payment of your invoices, 6 months or more. We have made several attempts to reach out and resolve these matters amicably even renewing your hosting and domain automatically without payment every year. The PayPal confirms these issues above as they receive all payments. Your payment due August of 2023 hasn't been paid to this date.
It is also important to address the public statements made regarding our company and staff. We take accusations of this nature very seriously. While we respect the right to free speech and customer feedback, allegations of this kind can be damaging. We kindly ask that any further public statements be made based on factual information if not we will take further action. We are a 20-year old company with hundreds of thousands of clients.
Our goal is to ensure that all our clients, including yourself, have a positive and satisfactory experience with our services.
AWFUL, SCAM, SCAM, SCAM. I was on a military deployment and the communications on the ship have been down. I just got home and seen that I had a renew your domain email. So I went to renew it and Bludomain is trying to say it is $100.00 for renewal. They are full of crap and I will be taking them to Navy Legal. From the look of the other reviews on here, I am not alone. SHUT THESE PEOPLE DOWN!
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! WORST customer service I have EVER experienced. I left them a year ago and went with Into the Dark Room (BEST customer service!). They failed to tell me they still owned my domain name and my domain name expired without any notification from them. Dealt with them for 2 days and got nowhere. It would have been as simple as releasing my domain name so I could deal directly with the provider. Never happened. I had to change my domain name and now have to inform all clients how to get on to my website. RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN FROM THE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE COMPANY!
I have only had their service for a couple days now and have had a horrific experience. Their customer service is terrible and consists of email (which they take their sweet time responding and an open see all hat forum which is unprofessional airing all of your messages to several other customers.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!
I just set up an account with bludomain, and I was soooo skeptical after reading all of these posts, but figured I would give it a try after it was recommended by a fellow photographer. I am SO happy that I listened to that photographer, because not only are they fast to respond to emails, but they are so friendly. I was helped by a girl named Samantha, who not only responded to my emails minutes after I would send them, but was EXTREMELY helpful and wanted to make sure I knew exactly what I was doing. I highly recommend this service to everyone and think that the people below should try again with the company because I rate them an 11 out of 10.
Years ago I went with Blu Domain for my photography website. They used Adobe Flash to design their sites and I was quite happy with it. Last year Adobe discontinued supporting Flash so I guess Blu Domain decided to stop supporting their faithful clients who had Adobe Flash sites that were designed by them. They didn't contact me and even offer me an alternative to the problem. THEY JUST DROPPED ME! Blu Domain always contacted me when they wanted to be paid their annual fee, but I guess they didn't need me once they found out that Flash wouldn't be available anymore. That would force them to admit there was a problem. OUT OF SIGHT, OUT OF MIND!
Hello Thomas,
We haven't sold an HTML website for years after Steve Jobs + Adobe had a fallout. Those emails went out to all of our clients for years. If you choose to keep your HTML, it will only work on a desktop if a MAC. Last summer, we reminded people that ADOBE was ending flash in December of 2020. We offered help to move you over.
Twenty years now, we absolutely would never drop you as a client!
The web site always is down, web site not work properly, custom services is taking a ticket,
Do not have phone number to better services.
After suffering (in their own words) a catastrophic server crash in 2018 (but failed to notify any of their customers) I spent weeks, at great expense trying to figure out why I couldn't access my website. It turns out that their severs are not secure and therefore, neither are their customer's details, websites and information. I must have sent hundreds of emails to them to try to sort it out. They answered one or two and then ignored me. It has cost me a lot of money to have a new website built. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. IT IS A CON.
Ginny, the crash was a very unfortunate unpredicted and unpreventable catastrophe after all the legal investigation was done. Actually, it's very hard to even respond to this comment you left because everything you are stating is false. Every single thing. I will be sending this to our legal team.
Unless you're realllllllly hurting for cash and looking for an extremely short term website solution, I would not recommend bludomain. The customer service is terrible - they rarely are able to actually answer your question fully and what should be a 5 minute problem usually turns into a 2 week problem. I've bought 3 of their website templates and find that they usually lack parts of the functionality that they claim to have (mobile add ons, video that's easily accessible etc), and of course - you think will be solved with an easy email but trust me, it just doesn't work that way.
Also if you register a domain with them - know that they just go and register it with godaddy.com anyway, which makes it quite an issue when you decide to stop hosting with them (and hten have to go through a 4 day process). It's kind of b. S. as well since the domain that YOU think you're registering is actually registered to bludomain. In other words - save yourself the headache and money adn just register it yourself with godaddy.
I started out with two of my sites at BluDomain. Then as billing fiascos built and BluDomain taking down my site only to realize I had paid the invoice, I decided to move both domain names and hosting to GoDaddy. To my surprise both my websites were registered with ICANN under the name of Aundrea Hasselbach the owner of BluDomain. Might not be an issue now but as far a ICANN is she owns it. So if you have a domain name you purchased through BluDomain, run a whois check on it and see if you are listed as the registrant or she is. Then insist she make the changes. Better yet just request she transfer it to GoDaddy. This is May 2020 and she is still pulling this on people.
Daniel the domains are under my name because registrars make it mandatory if you are a reseller of their domains to have it under one account. As you know you own the domain if you continue to pay the fees. We at BluDomain have no interest in owning your domain name. We have been doing this for 20 years. I think it's very irresponsible to spread misinformation. Pulling it on people, that's just irresponsible Daniel.
RUN, run FAR AWAY from ever using them! You will lose money, time, and business if you use them. They do not deliver what they promise and customer service takes DAYS to respond to simple things (like making your website live, for example - it took them 2 weeks to do this, even though they promise in 48hrs). I had an issue with the site I was being told I needed to take up with the manager, Aundrea, and she NEVER responded to emails except for once - to tell me that I didn't have an account with them. Which, I did. I sent my admin link back to her, showed her my page, explained the issues again, and never heard back. They don't give refunds. This is single handedly the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I have EVER experienced.
I am beyond upset with this company. My domain name has been somehow purchased by someone else and my former graphic design portfolio (ninaturinodesign.com) is now a spam/diet site. I was never given any indication from bludomain that my domain was going to expire, and wasn't expecting it to ( I purchased it for 4 years in January 2010). They claim I just let it go, however I registered it through them and they never gave me to option to renew it and it wasn't even supposed to be expired yet! I have asked at least 10 times for them to send me any invoices or correspondence having to do with my registration and have received no response. The worst part is not knowing how this happened and being offered zero help or explanation from those responsible. This has been detrimental to my business and a seriously stressful waste of my time.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE.
I have submitted support tickets, emailed and facebook messaged with no response. My email and site are down and I can't get anyone to help me get it fixed.
Every year I don't get billed for one fee or the other, this year it was my Domain fee ($15). When I contacted Colleen, she let me know my site was in redemption and I now owe $100. I have attempted to explain several different times, for four years now, that they simply fail to invoice me, I can't pay a bill without an invoice. They refuse to acknowledge their error and instead of picking up the phone and calling me to resolve this Aundrea, gets super defensive, and ends up offering my snarky comments calling me hateful and spiteful. This is no way to conduct business, or solve a real simple oversight. I should not be responsible for keeping this business on track when it comes to billing me. A sad excuse for a hosting company. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH BLUDOMAIN
Lack of communication on their part.
Charging for things that are not provided.
Help getting site set up is not as helpful as they say.
For the price you pay it is not worth it.

Our sites are $100.00 (one-time fee) I'm sorry that you think that is not valuable. We simply don't charge for things that aren't provided. We have been running BluDomain for over 20 years. We simply wouldn't be in business if we were selling a product that our clients don't receive.
Best wishes!
When i first launched my website with bludomain in 2010, i was thrilled. It was affordable. The tools were easy to use. And the site looked great. I recommended it to several people and personally know two clients who bought website with them. Then they started getting money hungry. They claimed to have sent me multiple emails notifying me to pay my $15 renewal fee. I had zero record of receipt of these emails. Not in my spam folder. And not in my inbox. I did however receive invoice to pay a $100 fee to turn my website back on. I went back and forth with them about this, but they would not budge, and because i'd had a good experience with them up until that point, i ate the $100 fee. The SAME thing happened this year. I PAID THE $100, but now they are telling me I must pay $100 more to get my site up and running! I have sent multiple emails, but have gotten form responses, then acknowledgment of receipt of my payment, then a message that I still have to pay another $100! I have tried to call, but am only getting the Voicemail when I try to make contact. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED.
I am LIVID. Third year in a row my website is down and they gave me absolutely NO warning. I am DONE. I have been with them for 7 years, had 3 templates and hosted them all with bludomain.
Answer: Bludomain is out of business, I've used them for three years and they are gone, no site, no email. Nice of them to leave me hanging, Hope the same happens to them
Answer: No one steals domains. If you don't pay your domain name renewal fee, then the registrar takes your domain, email and website down. At day 26 your domain is available to the public auctions should anyone wish to buy it. Usually, this happens by domain name investors if they feel your domain name is worth buying to resell.
Answer: I had an issue again with not getting response to my emails using the contact button on the website, so I went to the Facebook page, and actually posted a message on there- got a quick response that same day. Problem solved - not to my liking, but problem resolved. I will be looking for a new hosting site soon. If you would like any help with the DBD I would be happy to help- shoot me a message www.lauraleephotography.net
