I've purchased two laptops and some electronics and have had no problems with the shipping or products. Because these were somewhat larger, more expensive purchases, I worried whether Is should have just bought them in the store but luckily all my online purchases have been great experiences. Everything came within the estimated time frame and in perfect condition. The website has lots more products than in stores and oftentimes better deals so I definitely recommend taking a look!

I purchased a new PC I had Geek squad load it and they installed an anti-virus software that was a trial run. After the first week my PC would not connect my connection provider came out and tried everything - i called Best Buy somewhere along the purchase process the after support package was not added and their attitude was too bad so sad! I spoke with a manager who told me if he gave me a diagnostics for free he would have to give it to everyone his attitude was disgusting- so was their corporate response who basically sent me a couple of emails saying sorry after I had identified that the problem was the anti-virus software they had loaded on to my computer! I removed it reactivated my usual antivirus software that also found a worm strange as I had hardly been able to connect to the internet at all so had not been able to surf... Hmmm? Interesting - awful people awful store the worst customer service experience ever! All they want is your money then bye bye too bad so sad! Because they think they have the market share... we will see.

I'm getting ready to move our of state in a few days. Parents decided to buy me a laptop as a present. Best Buy is about 10 minutes from where I live. Parents called them over the phone and paid for it via a credit card so that I could pick it up after work since it's in stock. Get to the store and they said it will take 2-3 days until the card clears. I would get it from amazon that soon; who's warehouse is multiple states away. Absolutely ridiculous as I will be moved before I'm 'allowed' to pick up my gift. Let's see how much more of a hassle my parents will have to cancel the order now.
Best Buy has the worst service. I tried to buy a camera and had picked out the camera and the gear to go with it. The clerk rang it up and the phone rang. I stood there while he had a long conversation with someone. After about 5 minutes, I asked him if he was going to finish my transaction. He told me that he was multitasking! I said I am leaving and left the store.
So he had rung it all up but never got as far as taking my credit card.
So Best Buy lost my business and this guy lost a BIG sale.
That's not the first time I have had lousy service at Best Buy, but it is the last.
I like that I can go in store and see and touch products before I buy. Also, sales people very helpful with how products work.

I went in to make a $1500 purchase. When I tried to leave they stopped me and called me a thief! I showed my proof of purchase and turned right around and returned my product! Never going back!
With the recent purchase at Best Buy I had found their prices are really good. The shopping experience was very pleasurable and they have a really good selection. One of the biggest problems with shopping in Best Buy is they have way too many things to choose from, not really a problem.
The only place I saw that they needed improvement on with their sales associates were not very knowledgeable about the products. This makes it a little bit difficult when it comes to choosing what you need to get. But everything else works out really well, and if you have enough time you can always find somebody who knows something about everything.
I shop here on occastion. Best buy seem to have good stuff and the returns are taken back without hasel. And they seemed to have good sale prices, but ever since Future Shop closed their doors and now have only best buy I have noticed that the prices have gone up. I do not go there any longer. Thier prices now reflecked what Futcure Shop prices were; In my opiion, Over priced.

In all for polite courteous people answering service calls. But when big companies hire "operator services" in places like the Philliphines to save money, it is ultimately the consumer that pays the price. I spent over 5 hours being shuffled from one person to the next to the next not to long ago by Best Buy services. I had to finally give up. I was so panicked that I went on to my Linked account to find anyone in their corporate office here in the US! Well I finally got a response. And sadly this executive assistant just waived me off with a small gift certificate for my troubles. Not what I wanted after taking 3 trips around the world by phone. Principles had me stay on that phone for many hours, often on hold, while the lovely people in the Phillipines were scrambling to get rid of me without a solution. With no US service available no one was capable of an answer. Yes they are polite. But a huge waste of time. I am about to buy a new computer for the office and for the first time in a decade WILL NOT BUY FROM BEST BUY. They show their true colors in situations like this. I suggest you might think about all said before you also make your next purchase. We're all cattle!
Went in to buy a Macbook Pro and decided it was too much money. I decided on a HP 17" with essentially the same specs. The salesman asked about why i changed my mind and not once did he try to pressure me back to the Mac. They sure have changed at BestBuy.
If you have a problem with an electronic device they sold to you their team will come directly to you instead of you having to go to them which is very convenient.
Been to a couple of these stores... they are understaffed. Not too many people on the floor. Their repair on site department has a line around the block... We wanted to buy a computer lap top and there was just not anyone who really knew much. We did wind up buying one and when we got it home it did not have the features the sales person said it did and we did return it. There was no problem at that department. We kept all the packaging and paper work though. Their other departments are not much better either... you are basically on your own there... may as well order one on the internet and save lots of money.
I must say that Best Buy in my eyes was local but they listened to their customers that wanted them to compete with the growing internet sites. They did and I love the way Best Buy evolved to meet our demands. Keep up the good work and if you are reading this; Keep up the awesome job!
I go to the Best Buy instead of the Verizon store - you get a better deal and a higher caliber of staff. They are knowledgeable and efficient.

Answer: I would write a letter to your state's attorney general. There are laws regarding taking advantage of senior citizens. I would specifically ask for documentation from Best Buy in which your grandmother gave them permission to recycle her 18 month old computer. If they cannot produce that document they may be in very big trouble with the state's attorney general. I would also write the BBB and contact your public officials. This I think would be paramount to theft if your grandmother did not give them permission to recycle her computer. On the flip side of things, ASUS is a very good machine. My son is a computer scientist and swears by ASUS. I have three ASUS machines one of which is over 5 years old and it is a workhorse. Unless something significant happens in the ASUS business world, I will continue to buy ASUS!
