I called bathfitters to change out my existing tub to a walk-in shower. Looks great. But the design of the shower doors is backwards. I called the guy out that put in the unit and he told me that that's the way they are... He told me to tie a string to the loop on the door to use the correct door. WTF!
The way it's designed you can't use the handles on the doors that have the seal. I'm not done with this... whoever designed this should be fired!
The photo shows the outside door that seals... notice the handle. If you get into the shower, you have to push the door closed with no handle.
We bought a house that has a bath fitters tub in it.We have a tub that has a Crack straight down the middle of the tub. We called the warranty department and was told that cant transfer the warranty from person to person. They dont stand by the warranty.
Bathfitter is using false advertising to sell this low-quality product. I am in Westchester County, NY Therefore, Long Island representatives worked on my shower. The salespersons came to my house and assured me that my shower installation was an easy job, and all work would be done in a day. They were quick to take my down payment and we agreed on a day to install.
A day before my installation, a lady from this office (Mia) called me to reschedule. I lost a day's work. I managed to reschedule this work to another day which, I needed to take off from work. Finally, that day this installer showed up late. After a supposed closed examination, this installer encountered a presumed problem. Suddenly, I needed to upgrade my plumbing and showerhead. An extra $1200 was required for me to pay.
The final product looks cheap and choppy. I was expecting a high-quality shower. Instead, I received a cheap material shower product. I am extremely dissatisfied with this company.
Installer cut wall surround crooked. 1/2inch gap where wall meets tub, ended up with a 1 and 1/2 inch beading of caulk that didn't stick. Then he used his finger to try to smooth it. They make tools for this. Supposed to put backing behind grab bars, didn't so they are just in green sheetrock. Cut up my linoleum cutting old shower base out and didn't repair. Very disappointed, I've done construction before with a new faucet and shower head there is less than 2 thousand in materials, do not pay more than 3 thousand for this lousy new shower
If I could leave 0 stars I would! Bathfitter installed our bath and hardware incorrectly and broke pipes. We did not know until the basement flooded right into the new sheet rocked ceilings and new LED high hats.
So they sent a plumber.
The plumber neglected to shut off the main correctly and left a slow but steady leak in a rarely used part of the basement.
This leaked and we did not realize until the concrete which is very porous could not absorb any more water. Needless to say we had a huge water damage and mold situation which required remediation at our expense.
We were instructed by the restoration company White Glove Restoration to leave the industrial blowers and dehumidifiers going 24/7 bc the concrete was soaked.
If we didn't we would have an additional (new) mold colonies growing.
This made our electric bill increase by about 100- to 120.00 dollars per month.
They refused to communicate with us.
We called corporate and we're told we had to call the franchise.
We did so to no avail.
So we called Ally bank who financed the service.
They were sent numerous emails, photos and video but decided the matter was resolved.
Of course, Bath Fitters nor the bank care.
I am paying the payments on time each month because I am contractually obligated to do so.
What are Bath Fitters' contractual obligations?
To provide competent and quality service, right?
Well, they are neither competent or quality service providers.
If I could attach pics and video here, I would.
Bottom line, Do NOT trust Bath Fitter.
They are not a customer service driven company.
Once they sell you they'll ghost you if there is a problem like a bad one night stand.
I had tiles in my shower and Bath Fitter was to replace the tiles with their vinyl product. They promised that the work would come in one piece and I would not be able to see the seams or grout/silicone lines. The finished product is horrible. The silicone color they used does not match the wall pieces so it stands out like a sore thumbs. The lines were are not uniform/consistent, some lines are thicker and some are thinner. The seat in the shower is not level so water accumulates on the seat and dirt and stain stick to the seat. The pattern on the wall pieces where the cuts are do not match. They finished the shower without a door. They supposed to order a door for it, it has been over five months and they haven't contact me about the issues I'm unhappy with or let me know when they will install the door. There are other issues too technical for me to explain. I wouldn't recommend Bath Fitter to anyone.
They will get you to sign a contract and not tell you that you have 3 days before canceling a project. Do not go with them, they will authorize your card before even starting a project. The salesmanship are not true the managers are wrong. Do not go with bath fitter. Find someone who is honest and true up front and not say things trying to get over on you. They keep your down payments and don't want to return it. Talkkng about Arkansas law. They are a rip off..
Discoloration on installed shower floor
Refused to come out to inspect
I was going to use them to redo another bath but as
Luck would have it found not honorable usinedd
Please please please be wary of bathfitters
"Lifetime" warranty. We spent the extra $$ to have this lifetime warranty. Now less then 10 years later we can not even get them to come and caulk for us which was included in our package as well. When we finally had a problem we were told our warranty was voided. The only person who would talk to us was the poor office gal. The owner wouldnteven return our call. When we complained to corporate bathfitters we were told that every contractor was independently owned and there was nothing they could do. Please save yourself some money and frustration go to your local contractor or go to the big box store and have your small local guy install. You can then go to said big box store for supplies for a fix- just like we ended up doing after a "lifetime" warranty was not honored and you will be money ahead. Please stay away from bathfitters!
After 8 years the shower doors came loose Kirt came out fixed the doors with in the 1/2 hour of his call the doors were fixed he did a great job I would tell anybody to use BathFitters there service is great and the product is excellent. Barbara L.
Beware! Install does not look like the pictures in the book. Beware of what your salesperson tells you. We expected after spending a substantial amount of money a professional job well done. However we ended up with an out of square frame that prevented the shower doors from closing properly. Also a header trim that has a gap in it that's quite noticeable. We asked repeatedly for them to fix these issues and we got lip service instead. Basically telling us it can't be fixed. We were let to believe all of the plumbing was going to be new. What we got new was the water control valve and shower head. The rest of the piping and plumbing is 75 years old. Our salesmen said all plumbing would be replaced. We had to have the drain replaced on our own. That cost us an additional 2,000.00. You can't believe them when they tell you all new plumbing. We knew our drain was clogged we told the salesmen this. He reassured us it would be replaced. In addition there was a wall built and I did not like how it was finished off. The trim was Left rough and pointy. Again, I was told there wasn't anything else they could do.
We don't consider ourselves picky people by all means. Some things are just not acceptable. Since they won't fix anything this review is useless. I am only writing this to help someone else out.
If I could give Negative star i would. DO NOT SHOP WITH THESE PEOPLE. They don't respect their clients. What is even worse there disabled clients. My job was started 11-28-2022 and just got finished. THEY DAMAGED MY JOINING BATHROOM. You will pay about 17,000 dollars for said bathroom. When asked for at least 1,000 Dollars off we were told no you have a contract. When we asked to talk to management WE WERE NOT ALOUD TO. Please do yourself a favor and stay away from them.
I guess I'm not the only one that is having issues with their caulking flaking off. Service boy came out to do a simple recaulk. Instead he had a tissy fit and insisted I need a tub insert. I originally had bathfitter from London On put in a tub surround and they tried to hard sell me the tub insert at that time too. I decided to go the 5x cheaper route of reglazing my tub. Needless to say Bath fitter claims they can't take off already flaking caulking that comes off with my finger without damaging my tub. Ummmm perhaps take a course? Perhaps stop gouging people for money they don't have. I would not have bath fitter in my house again. Life time guarantee I call B.S.
We hired Bath Fitter to renovate our en suite shower, install happened the end of August 2021. They came out to take measurements for the custom glass on Sept. 1st and told us it would take about 2 weeks for the glass to be cut and shipped... due to 'supply chain issues' the custom glass was finally ready to be installed 4 months later on Jan 24th 2022. The workman was here on site for all of 30 minutes before he told us that "they gave him the wrong kind of metal framework" and that he could not complete the install (after leaving a small pile of aluminum shavings on my porch, a sliver of which I had to remove from my dog's paw). We expected to hear from Sarah the scheduler shortly after that to reschedule, we still have not received a call from them over 6 weeks later. It's now been more than 6 months since the initial install. When I call the main line, Customer Service can only send me to Sarah's VM (where you get a recording saying "the mailbox is full" and can not leave a message. When I call CS back to tell them that I was not able to leave a message for Sarah they tell me that "they will message her directly via their internal system to have her contact us" which, of course, never happens. I can sympathize with the fact that this poor woman is swamped with work, but that being the case shouldn't they, I dunno, maybe hire another person to help?!? At this point this is an abandoned project and we are currently looking for legal representation. 0/10 experience - would not recommend to my worst enemy.
We paid extra so the tub and shower surround would both have matching marble pattern. Unfortunately they came from different dye lots, so the tub is just white with a couple tiny thin streaks here and there, but you really have to look hard for them. It looks like a white tub with A marbled beige surround. It's infuriating and I hate it every time I see it. People in designer businesses should be perfectionists. And people paying for such should get what they paid for. We did not. There were a couple of inches of water damage on the wall beside the tub. Instead of cutting and removing the damaged portion of wall near the tub, The guy ripped it, ruining the wall for a good ten inches around the corner where no damage had been done or needed to be done. They only offered to put a piece of vinyl over it rather than fixing it properly. We declined. We were told there would be greenboard to prevent mildew via osmos. Knowing that mildew had been a problem with the old surround, this was the main reason that we choose them. The installer used only a few strips, no more than a couple of inches each of greenboard. When I called to complain, the company said the greenboard was not necessary. It was only there to hang the surround wall on. So no mildew prevention after all. Another lie. We were told they wouldn't drill the hole for the shower without asking us for height. That was not true. They had to come out and add a swan connector after so that my husband could use the shower. Additionally the tub sits crooked by one inch. Apparently bubble levels are foreign to them. Also the tub creaks. Especially when I put my feet at the end to sit up after washing my hair. It doesn't inspire a feeling of good stable work at all. Lastly, we paid extra for a rain shower. We were told the package came with a different shower head which we Could keep since we paid for it. I thought," Awesome.
Maybe we'll use it for an outdoor shower." But of course, true to pattern, the installer took it with him. I regret every penny I gave them. Do yourself a favor, get the work done elsewhere.
THROUGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL! We set up an appointment last week; someone yesterday called to confirm -- using my time again. And then this AM, after setting up my morning sked around the appt. They CANCEL on the account that "... I live in a high-rise." What, as Rachel Maddow says, horse puckey! I live in a 3-storey building. That is a high-rise? I have a sneaking suspicion why they cancelled at the last minute --but it tells me what UNPROFESSIONAL chickens they are -- and maybe I'm better off taking my business elsewhere. SCHMUCKS!
I'm picky as heck. I was involved in welding and fabrication for 43 year's so I can pick anything apart. Man the crew in Iowa did me right!
Purchased our home 6yrs ago. Prior owner had Bath Fitter install / redo tub and represented that it provides a lifetime warranty. I called to report noticing the tub cracking and break down in the caulking. Received company call back who advised their warranty does not apply but would send someone as a courtesy to inspect my concerns. Rep showed up, recaulked the entire tub and took pictures of obvious cracks in bottom of tub to send to company for their response the next day. Week later I got a call back in response to my BBB complaint I filed due to no response. Tabitha acknowledged the tub cracking, reiterated the warranty does not apply but would offer to redo the tub for "warranty rate" of $1800 with a 5yr warranty. The work was shoddy to begin with and obviously has poor product quality if cracks occur in a short period of time. And an offer to do it again so we can experience the same outcome? The Company's Customer Service stinks. The cost of the tub "band aid" is more costly than a proper and quality replacement.
Installer couldn't turn water off and the job wasn't done, if I knew I had to babysit I would of taken the day off. So he left the job and they won't refund my 2000 deposit
They did the work ad planed. Some problem occurred but ead handled professionally and timely. Friendly kind professionally done.
Answer: Total installation took 8 weeks for us due to measuring mistakes and having to get components from Canada. Base and surround is one install, then you have to wait for custom glass to be fabricated and be shipped.
