Bombarded with Spam

I don't normall like leaving bad reviews but Bark imposed themselves on me without invitation. I have no recollection of subscribing to Bark before my inbox was bombarded with emails trying to pass me unqualified leads most of which had budgets of about £250. Looking at the cost - about £300 plus vat for an estimated 10 leads with an average of a 20% conversion? That's a £150+VAT customer acquisition cost for probably £250 inc VAT revenue? If you are looking for help with web design and digital marketing I'd suggest that anyone who signed up to that deal is probably not the marketeer you're looking for!

Our marketing team reaches out to new businesses when we receive requests for certain sectors or in certain locations that we may not have many professionals to currently fulfil. We offer a first lead for free for our service, however if the business is not interested, they can always click the unsubscribe button at any time to stop emails being received.

Our marketing team finds email addresses for businesses from their websites, and this is information that is in the public domain.

The customer service is the poorest that you will ever find. They send you stale leads. I have called leads within minutes of them being sent to me. A lot of the time people have said they already hired someone days back. Their leads are stale. Try telling them about it? Good luck with that. As you can see from all their "standard" scripted responses, they will simply refute everything. Whoever runs this outfit should be investigated for business ethics and practices.

The leads cost a lot of credits and there is no guarantee you will be contracted or even contacted... it is pretty much a crap shoot.
So don't waste your money.
There are many more useful and cheaper ways to get clients.

I stumbled across this website almost by accident and it has been an absolute godsend! We needed an electrical safety certification on a property for rental. I input a few simple bits of information and within an hour (actually less!) I was contacted by 4 separate companies. I made an informed choice on which one I felt was best suited and competitively priced and booked the job that day. It has just been completed (the job) by a really lovely honest guy called Will King from CK electrical on line... all thanks to Bark. I will definitely use this site again and recommend it to anyone and everyone. Simplicity and effectiveness all rolled into one. 100% genuine satisfaction. Thank you.

Their offer code didn't work. I sent email immediately and called them in the morning. They were not only wasting my time; they indirectly referred me as stupid. Then asking me to spend another £155... saying they are helping. Secondly, 70% of their leads are bogus. When asked they say the phone numbers are checked but action speaks louder. Thirdly, customer service reps are trained to passively bully people (as in say the same things again and again people will cut the call). Hiding behind fraudulent policies... will not do business with them. WASTE OF MONEY. Spend on FB ads...

All our leads are screened by an automated system, and we have a credit return policy which covers any contact details which are not working. We feel this is the fairest system we can have as we are not a commission based system that guarantees work, and only provide contact details for enquiries placed with us. We also earn no commission or funds from repeat business. We do our best to explain this policy and will always return credits for anything which falls within it.

Bark works well, but the incessant emails asking for reviews gets annoying, hence why im doing this to hopefully stop it. We did find an excellent cleaner and we are very pleased. However, there was one guy that thought he should get the job because he paid to be able to respond to my advert. Was very pushy indeed.

Waste of money
June 12, 2020

After debating for months I finally decided to give in and purchase credits to try and connect with more clients. Needless to say I should have followed my first instinct and not invest any money. After contacting several leads to no avail my final straw was when I called a so called lead that had just posted only to be told by the person that I had the wrong number. This immediately through up red flags for me to the point where I feel as though I fell into a scam. I'm seriously thinking about filing a claim with my bank stating this. I'm really upset that I wanted my hard earned money.

On Saturday I entered my request for a gutter cleaning company. I was immediately sent a list of companies and within five minutes one of them, Marc from Pro-Dec, phoned me to talk about the work I wanted done We arranged that he would come on Monday lunchtime. He arrived on time, very friendly, very efficient, cleared out all my gutters and drains. Job done in 45 minutes at an extremely good price. I was very impressed with the service provided and asked for a business card so that I could contact him again.

Cleaning service... Canceled on a Saturday last minute
Planned on monday... came on property without calling to give entrance... broke entrance cones. Left their trash. Sitting along driveway...
Called them. They ignored the call. All this was... Noticed at time they were too arrive... the planned arrival... Thro never called me.
Beware of this company... they are out looking to giving trouble. Checking out individuals properties!

BARK IS A SCAM

Do NOT use these people. They lie, the leads are mostly fake. When there is a real client, they make the process too easy for them so they never actually turn into any genuine leads and they just seem to close their accounts. Funny that. Definitely a scam. And arrogant unhelpful staff. They also lie about refunding your credits if you don't secure work. No transparency and fake leads. Be warned!

I would be very wary using this service as a tradesperson. I have bought a number of leads which stated that only 1 person had bought the lead only to find that when I called they had already had numerous calls from tradesmen directed to them by bark. I was also offered a free trial of elite pro. Yet when I tried to cancel it was almost impossible. Charged for months before my bank eventually stopped them. Very unscrupulous selling methods. I could not recommend this company at all and would recommend tradespeople use a more reputable platform.

Scam city
August 29, 2020

Bark creates fake jobs for tradesmen, they make up jobs with dead numbers, no way to contact so that you waste your credits,
They also took £120 from my bank without my permission to add more credits.
Fraud basically...

Steer well clear if your in the trade, this is without doubt the worst of the sites, my builder is the best imo, don't think Iv ever had a fake job on there. Was getting 3 a week on here...

Possible Scam?
July 15, 2020

I spent over $100 on credits to contact potential clients. First of all, they made it seem like that was the minimum credit amount I had to buy. I didn't realize I could buy one credit pack that was only about $50. Secondly, most of the people I contacted, I never heard from. I even tried doing the free trial of being an "elite pro" and I still ended up receiving zero clients from this site. Seems like they are trying to trick you to pay them more money when they probably know there will be little to no return.

Excellent service!

We had our 10 year old patio cleaned & regrouted by David of Magic Cleaning services. He did a fantastic job, was quick & reasonably priced and we are delighted with the end result, which far exceeded our expectations.
We also had some carpets cleaned, which have come up like new.
Would not hesitate to recommend David for any cleaning jobs.

False Advertising

They advertised that they would refill the purchased credits until at least one job was secured through their platform. They then only refilled the credits once and said you have to pay beyond this. Totally feel played. Absolutely Garbage platform that couldn't provide a single real booking.
Highly advise not to waste your money.

Don't waste your money

bark.com has no way of verifying who is requesting information. I have had kids playing with their phones and request for a photographer.
Only few people are properly using this site, most of times, I receive NO response from people. Also, bark.com refuses to credit

The leads are such poor quality. Of course, I don't expect the majority of leads to roll straight into wins, that would be too good to be true. But with 99.9% of them being fake or bogus then you will never see a ROI. The only answer they will give is well we will return your points, which just results in even more crap being sent your way, it is a vicious circle.

When I got the first email from Bark saying all the different people were looking for services, my first thought was stay away. But then they keep sending you emails about all these "potential clients" you could be getting in touch with and it gets hard to ignore. I figured if we can get 2 jobs out of it the 96$ dollar fee for 60 credits will be worth it.
We followed up with many leads, 6 emails and called 3 of those 6. We got nothing. I'm not sure where they get these people but they don't seem to anxious to inquire about our services.
I would not recommend this to anyone

Poor system that delivered no clients. Do not waste your money! Sending me emails today! There are no enquiries in my industry atm due to lockdown. We all talk via trade forums. And yet bark have clients wanting our services in their homes. I think not. Do not trust them. Their reply to my review on Trustpilot is that they have never heard of us! Borderline scam.
