26 leads. No return

Out of 26 leads. Roughly 300 usd. (Auto tick is turned on so it tops off your account and you pay without realizing it sometime as the service isn't clear enough).

Only 1 client came through, talked to the client. Only for the client to cancel the project citing family emergency.

You pay premium prices or little to no results. Its downright criminal. I suppose that's capitalism in a sense. Wont be returning. STAY AWAY.

We looked into about 20 leads with their "if you don't get a sale we will give you credits back" promotion. We used all 100 of them and not one lead closed. Of the ones that did answer, most didn't know why were were calling. We only had one potential sale but fell through due to "not the right time". We are in pest control company so I have a hard time believing these issues can wait.

Customer service suggested I call the clients. Thanks like I never thought of reaching out to them...

Nathan from N.H. Garden maintenance has re-fitted a fence, which was falling down, for me today. His time-keeping and workmanship were excellent. He did a superb job and left the site clean and tidy. I can thoroughly recommend him.

Not bad but not sure...

I have been trying to get my head around this company and I'm struggling to. I am a therapist and was sent one free lead from Bark, which I followed up on, and it appears to be legitimate. That being said, the price for credits is quite high for leads that may not materialise. But what puts me off most is that I'm not sure if I want to be affiliated with a company that's doesn't vet therapists. We are already struggling as an industry to be properly regulated, as there are many rogue under qualified therapists allowed to work without regulation in place, and I don't see how this aggregator is helping the cause. I'm worried that they are putting already vulnerable clients at risk by allowing any 'therapist' to respond to clients without any prior screening or checks in place, and the clients might assume that these checks have been done and not do their own due diligence.

Small Roof replacement
January 27, 2020

We have just had a side roof replace by A-class roofing and construction LTD.

Simon explained clearly what would be involved the work was carried out to a very high standard all working well as a team, finished off by the plasterer who completed the ceiling inside.

An excellent job, we can highly recommend this company.

I have been using bark.com for almost a year now and 9 out of 10 leads have known to be invalid as no lead. When confronting bark.com they deny blank and won't refund.
This has happened once too many times.
Will not be using them again!
Absolutely rubbish

Oh well, I joined a few weeks back very excited, because they guarantee your money back if you don't get a hire. Sounds decent right? As I didn't get any clients before even I could understand what was happening they charged me again saying that "When you make your first purchase it is stated that auto top-up will be turned on, if you would not like this feature to remain on it is easy to turn it off." It took me 30 minutes to figure out how to deactivate it. I am requesting a full refund and keeping their credits as I am not interested in working with them. The customer service rep gave me a short and blunt answer without really answering my refund request. Very disappointed

Most Leads Are Garbage
September 18, 2019

Unlike others here, I have completed a handful of jobs via Bark but my biggest complaint, as a professional photographer, is the quality of most of the leads. It costs us real money to receive the contact details only to find that the lead wants something different than they originally described. Bark's vetting / intake questionnaire is garbage and they're not interested in constructive suggestions to improve the process. "We're getting our money, sucks to be you."

Company: legit business, based in the UK, customer service responsive on credits and tips

Leads: Majority are not serious to book or invest. Many don't respond. It's free for them to request quotes but they don't know how much it costs the business owners. Out of 10 contacts, we had one successful lead book with us.

Tips: don't contact if lead is more than 4 hrs passed, don't contact if they don't have a date or unsure on certain items, don't respond if they have no set budget. Do call them immediately once u send your information

Overall, I would put this site on the lower end of your advertising criteria. Use your credits wisely and read the full description of how serious the lead is. Keep in mind they get multiple quotes and many times forget to close it if they picked another company.

You are absolutely right that responding quickly to well-filled-out leads is the best way to use our platfrom. We are an open online public platform and so not all leads have an equal chance of conversion. We have some exciting changes planned for next year that we hope will help improve the quality of our leads further, but as-is many professionals do achieve a 1 in 5 conversion rate with our site. We feel we are a reasonably priced marketing platfrom We offer professionals the opportunity to try and convert business and market themselves at the fraction of the cost it would normally be to get themselves to the top of Google (which is what we do). We also do not charge commission and so do not take any earnings from professionals, nor do we take any earnings from repeat business they may win.

FAKE LEADS
July 20, 2019

As a professional offering services for Bark.com. Don't waste your time. You will pay for leads that are invalid or kids who put requests in, but have no intentions on hiring people for the job, or looking for someone to do free work. I've spent over 60 dollars on leads and had 1 response back and it turned out they were underage and had absolutely no idea on what they wanted. I emailed the team to try and clear things up, but got sent back the terms of service.

From Bark:
We will not return credits in the following circumstances:
The contact details provided are valid, but the customer does not respond.
You make contact with a customer, but do not secure the job.

That's great, so people can just put fake requests in with someone other persons e-mail and they are considered valid leads..

We did try to resolve your issue however you did not respond to our message.

All leads are screened by an automated system, and we have a credit return policy which covers any contact details which are not working. We feel this is the fairest system we can have as we are not a commission based system that guarantees work, and only provide contact details for enquiries placed with us. If we are able to verify that someone who has placed a request does not have the funds or the intention to hire we will return the credits for the lead.

Hi, Bark loves to decide like a parent how their site should be managed which is OK but they also allow any set of bashers and competitors to trash your reputation and get involved where legally they should not be going at all. We had a very sick person leave a sordid and false review on their site and they are actually sticking up for this sick individual instead of believing our company which has been with them for over one full steady year. Steady declination in leads and they are WAY too expensive for the value of the lead vs. what you pay.

Not worth it

I have a cleaning business. I have spent about $250 for credits and to make myself "ELITE " whatever that means. I have emailed about 20+ people in the last month, using my credits and so far only one person has filled out our quote form. I realize Bark has no control over who responds, but there are cheaper ways to get clients. I have great Google reviews and we use natural cleaning products so it's not my service that's not attracting clients. Having to compete with others who also pay for credits is just making Bark money and not getting companies a fair chance.

Found an excellent dog trainer Sonny Myles for my 2 x 10 months old labradors. They needed training with socialising with other dogs in the park and walking on the lead without pulling. Sonny gave us lots of tips on how to manage them.

I've had firsthand experience purchasing leads from bark and Thumbtack. I was 100% sold on looking for other ways to generate leads vs using Thumbtack. When I came across bark, I was super excited. I dove head in and purchased a good amount of leads well over $300 bucks. Too much of my surprise, very few if any actually even responded. I sent text messages & professional email responses. I don't think there qualified enough or even created an account enough. I can't even imagine spending another dime on bark. I was so frustrated this didn't work out.

About one of every five leads is an actual legitimate consumer that initiated a search which puts me at $300 spent for two legitimate leads. Where they're getting the other false leads is unknown to me but it deserves an FTC investigation nomination. This review is based solely on my personal experience with Bark and the stats as well. I sincerely hope that other people have had more success obtaining leads than I have. I feel like a chump who got ripped off and I'm not at all liking the humiliation.

Excellent Service

Used Bark to find a tree surgeon over xmas break. Received two quotes. Chose one and their service was beyond my expectations. I liked that both companies that made an offer had their own websites so I could see before and after shots.

Poor customer service

Tried bark for over a year many leads totally unresponsive they gave me a month's free trial of bark elite which was useless they then took £23 94 from my account without letting me know when the month was up and would not refund these people only wan your money they would not even remove my card details without filling in a form Join at your own risk but you will regret it
