I'm honestly confused by all the the reviews. Most of them seem like the result of ordering from a company having not read anything in their policies and then being caught off guard by it. There is a solution to this. Quite simply, read the operating procedure. Don't want to unload the truck? Tough. Find another company that will charge you 50 dollars per 30 pound bag of grain you order and get it straight to your door. I have done multiple orders through Azure and simply being diligent and checking the stock of each item in the different amounts allows you to alter which one you want to put in your cart up to the cut off and makes it much more likely you'll get the item. Don't get it? Again, tough. I imagine the volume this company is dealing with is insane. Hate to say this because I generally love my interactions with other Azure customers but these people leaving reviews seem exceptionally spoiled by modern convenience. Keep doing what you're doing Azure, we truly appreciate you.
After moving from the Atlanta area, I had a hard time finding my type of green and healthy products. I ordered a lot online, but that's not good when I'm used to buying my wheat in bulk for grinding. Very happy with Azure's service and products. Last month I ordered over $600, because I was finally low on my grain stock I brought from Atlanta. Along with Costco, this is my main store for groceries. Love their selection of organic items.
Placed order of in stock items and waited weeks. Received confirmation email saying my order was on the truck and heading my way. The day before delivery I revived a text saying a guy driving a Honda Accord would meet me in a random parking lot (yes it resembled an episode of Breaking Bad). AND the 2 main items of my delivery were given to someone else so tough $%*! Try again next month but even if it says its in stock when you order it probably wont be when shipped. Since they never guarantee you will get what you ordered its all a crab shoot. AND remember you cant cancel what they do decide to send you. AND there are no refunds. AND you had better be at the drop off site on time even if they change that at the last minute. SO don't make any plans for a delivery that will probably never arrive and wont be complete if it does.
We've been Azure customers since 2011 and we save a money and always have an amazing experience!
I once spent 15 minutes on the phone with customer service as they tracked down product details for me. They even started carrying a certain product after I requested it.
We adore Azure and I'm so happy we have a drop site in our community!
Update: 9/2021 they are doing better now and have been able to regularly get my order on time when I was expecting them, I ma also recieving my full orders again and the items on the web have been ones I can order. I enjoy that they reuse boxes for shipping to reduce waste. Plus they packaged things very well.
Placing an order and not receiving the whole order is a BIG no no in my opinion. For the last couple months it has become more of a problem than in the past. Some people have animals to feed, business to run. When we order something that says its in stock, and we don't receive it, and only get a notification that you wont receive it the day before the delivery, it becomes a problem. Your company has become an unreliable delivery system. I cannot gamble with your companies lack of fulfilment. When I see that you want to expand to deliver to other areas, while not being able to figure out the area they are currently serving. Goodbye
Ordered 5 lbs of black oil sunflower. After much speculation due to low reviews I gave them a try. Not disappointed at ALL. Germination in the 80% maybe ever 90%. Slightly slow growing but manageable. No mold issues!
Hi Tyrel. Thank you for giving the black oil sunflower seeds a try. The germination rate you've experienced is in line with the results we've had during testing. We're really glad you've had good success with them.
They sold me hundreds of pounds of seeds all rotten and stole all of my money. I called them on the same day of delivery and they wouldn't refund. I hope they get what they deserve. Low prices just to steal your money in the end. Evil Company. Needs to be sued and have multiple people file Legal Lawsuits and end this company once and for all.
First time I bought wheat berries from them. It was ok not good because it has couple of mice poops. This should not be the standard of hygiene.
Second time I bought recently. I opened first bag and filter alot of chaff in few pounds of wheat. This us unfair. You are selling chaff mixed with wheat. Management should take care of it.
I ordered Azure Market Organics Millet, Hulled, Organic at least three times. First time, received paper bags as shown in the web. https://www.azurestandard.com/shop/product/food/grains/millet/hulled/millet-hulled-organic/9200?package=GR031. Second time, it was cheap plastic for fertilizer, a liter sand particles. Thirst time, plastic bags, A LOT OF SAND, really not for human being food, maybe good for bird. I don't know if this is their conmmen practice.
I tried SO HARD to support Azure (as opposed to the behemoth in Seattle). I ordered about six or seven times over the last couple years. Because you have to pay for shipping, I ordered one large box. They were always out of one item, but posted an "expected arrival" date. So I would wait even though I ran out of a couple items in the cart. Each time the date arrives, the items suddenly goes "out of stock" without a date. So you'll put off an order for two months, and show up empty handed. Additionally they don't package their items very well. This resulted in 32 oz of maple syrup glazing $200 of merchandise and leaving my lobby a sticky mess. They gave me store credit for the syrup but everything had to be rinsed, repackaged, mopped, etc. it was a mess. It's so wonderful a company steps up and offers organic bulk, but in the end, I just don't think this place is worth your time. So sorry, I wish them luck.
No matter how many times they explain their inventory system, it makes zero sense. I buy an item because it's in stock... then they go to ship my order and it disappears... every month over and over with no chance to replace that item... just poof! Bought by someone else? Never existed to begin with? You must understand how frustrating this is to customers. This month is the last time I bother with Azure. Please don't reply, I'm tired of reading your lame responses.
I placed an order over 2 weeks ago. I still have not received it. I have sent 3 emails and left 1 voice message and still have not received any reply from them. I do get the automatic email of " you will get a response in 24-48 hours", but its now been 10 days since my first email on my order.
I was hoping this would be a great place to buy organic in the future, but never again after this experience!
Hi Trudy, We're sorry to hear you haven't heard back from our team. We have been very short staffed and are behind on emails. We realize this has caused delays in response times and the team is working hard to get caught up. If you could PM your account contact information, we will find out why you haven't received your order and work with you on a solution.
Terrible quality full of rocks and other dirty material. Not sure this was suitable for human consumption; Called and they acted like they did not know about this unclean product. I ordered 25-50 pounds and I am extremely disappointed. Never again will order, in fact I will call again today attempting to get a refund or replacement
Hi Darnita. We're sorry you're not happy with the wheat berries your ordered. Raw grains are cleaned using screens that shake the grains through the screens and filter out large debris. Despite the use of modern cleaning equipment, it isn't always possible to remove all foreign debris from agricultural products. Debris such as small rocks, chaff and plant matter can sometimes be about the same size as the grain and make it through the screens.
Not sure why the bad reviews because everything about this company is great. I havent tried email customer service but have called phone customer service a few times and they were pleasant and helpful.
In regards to anyone who complained about product they do have a period of time for you to report problems. I doubt the viability of these reviews because they should and could have reported immediately in my opinion if something was wrong.
I do not work for this company, nor am I in any way affiliated with them. Just love the food!
Thank you for the positive feedback. We do our very best to delight our customers, even when things go awry.
I regularly order produce and various other items that are hard to find where I live. The produce is always incredible and long lasting and the selection is fantastic. I love having this as a resource for quality, organic products and appreciate Azure so much!
We have recently bought the hard white wheat. When I opened the bag we found the black insects. I called the customer service but it was no help at all. I have told that I had only 7 days to report the problem and these kind is insects are common in organic grain. Very disappointing.
Was going to order from them but after reading the reviews. I'll go and order the 2800-3000 lbs of rye grains I need from else where. That I need every 2 to 3 months. Prices seem good though but the horror story of how you guys do business sounds like dog $#*!.
I had pretty much quit Azure because they couldn't ever fulfill more than half my order and they squeezed out our drop site. Then, when it became apparent that they couldn't manage their finances, they asked customers to step up with their 'customer supported inventory' idea. You can't manage your money so you want mine? However, there was one thing I really wanted and couldn't find anywhere else so I caved and ordered the product through the mail. It was a perishable item and I had to agree to not hold them responsible, which I did but I thought they'd mitigate that by mailing carefully. Nope. It gets to sit in the PO for the whole weekend. And they waited several days to ship, so it's not like they shipped right when I ordered it.
Hi Susie. We would love to help you resolve the situation and are sorry your experience didn't meet your expectations. We've suffered some sever storms which delayed many shipments during the time frame you've listed. We won't know for certain if your order is one that was affected until we look at your account. We'd be delighted to help you if you would give us a call. Please ask directly for our Customer Care Manager. He's been alerted that someone may be calling.
Like with everything, you have to check out the price/value ratio. There are items you better buy at Whole Foods or Costco. But they have a lot of excellent offers, especially in grains, flours and produce. Where do you get organic millet for 90c/pound ( in a 25 pound bag)?
With one exception; and I received refund, all merchandise has been excellent.
There is a bit of getting used to their drop system which needs improvement or the fact that you sometimes do not get things you ordered and which were available at the time. But overall- excellent and there is nothing comparable out there.
You can verify that I am a customer.
To begin, there are very little savings you acquire on most products. It is only when there is a sale that you receive any savings. The biggest problem with this company is that before you place your order, they do not give you a specific drop date or time. This would be fine if the host sites were available after working hours to allow you to pick up your products if you hold a job. But at some host sites- like the one closest to my house- she requires you to be there to pick up the products at delivery and will not hold them for you. In otherwords, they don't give you a time or date for the drop before you order, and if you are working at a job (such as a hospital like me) where you cannot leave, they expect you to arrange a friend or family member to be there to get the order because the host will not hold it for you. How does this even make sense as a business model? You can only sell to people who don't have a job or have one person who has few enough responsibilities at their job that they can leave to pick up the order mid-day.
Answer: Azure is an American, farmer owned food distribution company who has been distributing to individuals, buying clubs and businesses for over 30 years.
Answer: They will arrive cold as long as an appropriate shipping option is selected. We recommend two day shipping, since dry ice and icepacks only last around 3 days. Anything shipping selections longer than two days pops up a perishable shipping warning that the customer agrees to the risk and takes responsibility for the condition of the perishable items due to selecting a shipping option that isn't recommended for perishable orders.
Answer: Hi Anita. The Azure Brand is our private label brand and we are unable to disclose who our suppliers are, as we have non-disclosure agreements with the suppliers for our house brands.
Answer: Very easy - they respond quickly to questions through email.
Answer: ShaCariana, I counted 98 wings in a 10 pound bag just now. Hope this helps, sounds like you are planning a party!
