I have been charged 22.04 canadian dollars by Audible.NEVER, EVER HAD A MEMBERSHIP WITH AUDIBLE, NEVER EVER SIGN FOR A FREE TRIAL, I did not know who they are, then after find out from internet who are they, they are linked to Amazon, so they used my VISA DEBIT from my Amazon account to charge me. I called my bank and I have to cancel by card.ABSOLUTELY SCAM, I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM AMAZON UNTIL THIS ISSUE IS NOT SOLVED.
The recent changes made to the Audible app ensures the library experience is so down graded that membership is no longer worth maintaining. The Audible app is a sales platform not a library management tool. Audible has made the.changes deliberately using past purchases to sell new purchases including books you already own. The whole conduct of Audible has become misleading and deceptive. On a day to day basis it has also made management of the audio library more difficult.
I've been an Audible customer for 24 years, maintaining my Light Listener plan plus purchasing other titles throughout the month. Under my plan I would get 2 titles a month. Amazon then purchased Audible and was going to cancel the Light Listener plan. Due to the negative responseto, they did not cancel it and I have continued to maintain my plan. Today, we loyal Audible clients have been advised that we are all being cancelled. That if we want to continue, they will charge us $1 per month more but will reduce our titles to only 1TITLE per month. We knew Amazon would scree us over when they took possession of Audible because Amazon has NO loyalty. They disgust me. Just like all other corporations, loyalty is never rewarded. You do not matter in any way to Amazon
They linked this service automatically to my Amazon account. Then when I cancelled my membership, they reinstated it automatically on their own. They also stole all my credit card information from my Amazon account and there is a note on their account that they can just select the next card in the list and bill to that one if the first one does not work. Then of course when you go to complain - There are NO email addresses and NO phone numbers. Very illegitimate business practises. I guess this is how you get to be the second richest man in the world... cheating your customers as much as possible. Never will use this service again as it is really set up as a scam. Hope someone takes them to court.
Tried over & over to cancel my membership, no success, had to empty bank acc to stop them withdrawing money. Thieving bstrds
I own a lot of Audible books, but I may not buy any more. The volume of ads for books I DO NOT own is overwhelming. I like to listen to a book to fall asleep, but now when my book finishes Audible starts a book I don't own and one not of my own choosing. It wakes me up and then I really have to fully wake up to stop it. Trying to do it in the dark on my phone and not wake my partner is hard. I will have to change to listening to blogs elsewhere to fall asleep. And I want to be able to search just my own library for books I own without seeing so many books that I don't own taking up screen space. I want to be able to choose up front if I am going to search for a book from my library or search for a new book. And the default should be books in my library.
2 titles I know i used monthly credits for were randomly locked and removed from my purchase history.
I contacted support and they said I never purchased them and should have email receipts.
Convenient for them, I haven't received POP through email. ONLY PROMOS!
Looked online, and I'm not the only one that's had issues with audible taking stuff away that people paid money for and not taking accountability, but rather blaming the customer for not going to the ends of the earth to keep track of their purchases... when the corporation acts like they do it for you in your account "for convenience sake", but really, it's so they can control the info and manufacture plausible deniability for issues like this.
Millions can be generated with shady tactics like this.
Deceptive company and rude customer service! I had cancelled my membership over 6 months ago and was still being charged 14.95 per month! Called to report this issue and request a refund and the customer service was very rude. She actually told me they have NO finance or billing dept. and NO manager(s)! I said well obviously someone in the company is taking the fee out of my bank account! She kept stating I just needed to contact my bank. This is the same as stealing in my opinion. I finally reached a more helpful person via online chat and they are supposed to be refunding me.
I have been an auditable member since 2018. Today, I have been trying to contact the customer service for the return of certain titles which I was not happy about. The lady answering the phone ask all the questions to pull up the account, then says I need your approval and by the time I approve the request, the phone disconnect but they never call back, I call again, and same thing happens, third time another lady answer the phone says, I am the senior customer care officer, how can I help you? Again same story.
Feeling frustrated and disappointed how a company claim to be with such a great name treating its customers so poorly.
Just waisted hours of my time. My account just lists my credit card and credits available NOT the amount I will be charged. I was offered link withe deal that didn;t show up on my account. Hour later maybe if I believe them it is done but stil doesn't show on accountl Waited forever to let supervisor know of this problem and they just hung up on me.
Overall the years, I have acquired 24 audible credits when I was a "member". I spent 14 of those credits on titles in my library (other titles were purchased by other means). I recently purchased a title using a credit. I even listened to the first few chapters of it. Today when I tried to listen to it, it had been removed from my library. (It can be clearly seen in my listening history)
I called customer service expecting to have it restored. It was not. Nick tried to tell me that because I had canceled my membership, I could no long listen to titles that I purchased with credits acquired from that membership. Its bad enough that credits that I paid good money for seemed to have expired. But I didn't know that books purchased with credits would also expire. That really sucks! Its like they broke into my house and stole the book from me - even after I handed them over $100 for credits that they're not going to let me spend. Theft is a good business model, I guess, as long as you can get away with it.
I subscribed to Audible for a one-month free trial. I am trying to cancel. My subscription is through my Amazon account. On the Audible home page, though, I am listed a having an Apple account. I am, thus, required to cancel through Apple. As a result I am unable to cancel! I have talked with Audibles call center agents. I have chatted with their agents. They are completely unresponsive.
Dec 2024 i signed up Audible from Amazon as i want to listen to one audio book. To listen to my 1st Audio book i need to sign up for the 30 days trials and require to input my credit card detail and Audible claimed the membership can be cancel before end of 30 days. I cancelled it but is still charge to my card on 20 Jan 2024. So I removed my card info in Audible apps but Audible still charge 2nd fee on 20 Feb. I wrote to Audible but their reply takes days. Email reply from customer service (UK) feedback they cannot find my email account in their system!? Their customer service is poor and slow.
To permanent stop this nonsense from Audible i had no choice but to cancel my Amazon account, yes the only way to permantently get rid of Audible is to close Amazon ac. This is the only option provided. I had to sacrifice my 10 years+ Amazon account and ended up loosing my Kindle book and Audio book forever. To double check, i create a new Amazon ac using the same email address and found Audible still have my credit card details when i press the 30 days trial icon. I will check again on 20 March if it still deduct fee from my card.
Anyone who plan to try Audible 30 days trials Please think twice or do it at your own $$ risks. Pay a small price to learn this lesson. I will not buy anything from Amazon from now onwards. I will just order my paperback book which i can still own it physically. From Singapore.
I changed phones. The customer service agent was unprofessional and didn't help me get to my account. I told them to suspend my account and they just charged me again. I would have given a zero stars or a negative 5 stars if this were an option. I will be turning it in as a fraudulent charge to my bank and I am looking at a civil action as they did this last month as well and are denying me access to books that I have bought.
I discovered that this company was charging my Amazon store card $16.18 for 22 months without my permission. Unfortunately, I did not catch it sooner I did not authorize this charge and I never used the service. I called to dispute the charges and they tried to sell me on keeping it by offering me 3 months free. I declined and said I wanted the charges to stop and a full refund. They only offered to refund for 12 of the 22 months which is $194 of the $355 they charged. It's better than nothing but I'm still out $160. I'm very angry about this and wanted to warn others about the fraudulent activities of this company.
Honestly, I am so shocked at how terrible this service is. Every single book I want to purchase, says its unavailable for my region. I live in Canada? How are CANADIAN authors not available? And now it's locked me out of my account for some reason and my library isn't there anymore. The helpline staff are actually trying to help, but it seems like the site and app are so terrible that they're having a hard go of it. 0/10
I have not been impressed with the multiple attempts to funnel/force me to join Audible book club but today is the limit. In order to listen to a previously purchased title l, "The Warrior Diet", they are now requiring me to join. Anyone but Audible.
If you try to delete books off your device, it does not happen. You have to delete the app, then re-install to clear your device of finished books. Customer service has an "oh, well" attitude. I have the Premium Plus and have been notified on occasion that I could not read a book I purchased because it was no longer available under my type of account! It's more frustration than good listening. Ridiculous!
What a joke - watch every keystroke because they are out to ensnare you and there is ZERO customer service. Everyone who works for this outfit should be ashamed of themselves, especially the bosses.
I'm glad I found an honest review site about giants like Audible and Amazon. This is a complete hell to go through their customer service. Unprofessional and non-carrying customer service with little to no help on resolving the issue. It is not because they do not try to help (although sometime it is the case), but because they are giving promises they can never fulfill. I had to go over and over again with the same issue, and every time they are over-positively running me in circles without solving the issue. I paid for audiobook(s) about three years ago and I wasn't using amazon or audible for few years. When I tried to access audiobooks I purchased, amazon blocked my account due to duplicated accounts. I have no problem with that and glad to remove one account to keep only one that works. I did everything they asked me to do and it seems the customer service take a great pleasure running me in circles with no final solution to the problem. I have no faith anymore in any of Amazon or Audible services. It is the automated system that decides either you are going to be their customer or not, and it is not for the customer service to decide. I feel I was left completely lied to with no respect to my time or money. They showed me how they can take my money for the service and block access to it anytime they want. Screenshots shows the last interaction with Audible customer service that stated they will reach me out within 48 hours with the solution, so I can access my audiobook(s). It was 8 days ago and still no answer.
