I was skeptical at first but really needed help finding assisted living for my mother. My skepticism quickly changed to optimism the first time I spoke to Angie at A Place for Mom. She was patient, kind, understanding, knowledgeable, and quickly became a good friend. After giving her the summary of what I was looking for, where, and how much we could afford she got right to work. It was nice getting all the information I couldn't find online in one spot. Angie had great patience while we worked through the different assisted living facilities in our area and then scheduled my first tours. When those places didn't seem to be a good fit, we would talk through it and discuss more options. Overall, I think I toured 6-8 different assisted living facilities, and with Angie's help I knew just what to ask when I toured. She helped me become much more knowledgeable about how all of this works and what to look for in a new home for my mom. Her follow up was perfect, and she never pushed or asked more than I could give. Mom was in and out of the hospital and rehab facilities while I was working hard to find a place for her. Angie was truly an angel in the way she handled everything and kept me from feeling like I was all alone. (I'm the only child of a single mother) She set up the tours when it was convenient for my schedule, and working together as a team, I was successful in finding the perfect place. By using email, text, and phone calls, Angie and I coordinated every move along the way, and it was more than perfect. She provided tips for financing assistance, assisted living, group homes, and was able to send me reviews on the different places I considered. The whole experience took me from being depressed and not sure where to turn for help, to a bright happy sunny day when my mom moved into her new place. Angie has since followed up with me to be sure all was going well, and that mom was happy, which of course, meant I was happy. I am now a big supporter of "A Place for Mom" and Angie is my friend for life. I will now recommend them to anyone who will listen and am forever thankful that I got in touch with them. The decision to contact them was not easy, but after my first phone call with them I quickly realized it was truly a blessing. No sales pitches, no pressure, they really are there to help. As a free service, I feel like it is one of the best experiences I have ever had at a time when I really needed it. It's true that they are there to help when you need it the most!
You tell them what you're looking for and they sell your info to like 30 facilities who call you at cutthroat speeds to feed upon your sadness like a shark on an injured seal. If all communication was via email, it would have been somewhat manageable.
I found the "service" to be annoying and there was no value added. I won't be using the service again. I consider calls before 9:00am to be abusive.
My husband and I were at a loss on how to find a place for his mother. She needed to be in a place where she could socialize instead of being isolated. On a whim on a Sunday morning, I completed a form on my phone for 'A Place for Mom". Within minutes, I received a phone call from this service and was connected with my advisor! Kellie was a godsend! We established a great connection and set up two places to tour. The resources sent to us were very informative. Kellie kept in contact through the whole experience. So, in about less than two months, my mother in law is settled and very happy. Thus my husband and I are very pleased with the assistance from A Place for Mom.
My mother was falling all too frequently in her home and I knew that I had to do something quickly for her or risk her being seriously injured. I started looking with A Place for Mom, and I needed to find assisted living in the general vicinity of her present home, but not so far away that my sister and I would be inconvenienced as we both live an hour away in opposite directions. I was given a list of three possible facilities in the Lawrence County, IN area and I decided to check out two of them. Both of the recommendations were great, but I realized that Mother needed assistance with bathing and also therapy for strength. I settled my mom into the second facility this week, and all my stress is alleviated due to the great team at Cedar Creek. When she went in, she was ready to stay, the climate was that conducive to her mental and physical health and she felt it there.
I initially connected with A Place for Mom after my mom had fallen twice in two weeks and it was looking like my dad couldn't care for her. Natalie was so credible I giving me advice and setting up the initial visits. My need for placing mom became urgent when my dad also fell and spent the day at the hospital. We also had some difficulties with some of the places. Natalie was the calm in my storm and helped us get mom placed within 4 days. I will always be grateful for her and I highly recommend her and A Place for Mom!
Acute situation led us to expert caring professionals help in incredible ways. Our mom & family are very grateful. Highly recommended
Very helpful and personable. Individualized attention. A Place For Mom doesn't always have resources and information on all local senior housing.
Laura from a Place from Mom was so helpful. She checked in on me often to make sure that I did not need help getting a hold of the places that she suggested. She also made sure once we found a place that we had everything and even contacted the home my mom was moving into. Amazing help!
I am so grateful to Sara S., who provided support and understanding during this difficult time in trying to find a place for my dad. Sara went above and beyond, walked me through the process, provided reassurance, and was able to find a place for my dad.
There is so much to handle with a parent suffering from a debilitating illness, especially in old age. When the social worker recommended A Place for Mom, I didn't know what to expect. After a lengthy, but thorough conversation, APM identified caregiving agencies local to my parents' home. I didn't have to spend additional hours online researching what and who to speak with. We talked to a couple of firms given by APM, interviewed one at the home, and not long after had a caregiver schedule setup within 24 hrs of a crisis period that resulted in surgery and a discharge from the hospital. My stepmother was on the verge of burnout and now has the support she needs.
Everything is perfect. Great experience so far. Feel happiness coming on.
My brother had a stroke in 2021. Since then he's resided in assisted living. He has improved over the years and we now are in the market for a nice independent living facility.
Once the application was filled out Tamara Miller called in 10 minutes. Within 24 hours we had a list of local places within 10 miles of my house.
By the end of the week we had a signed contract with his dream place.
In 2 weeks he was moved.
We appreciate all the help we and the quick response. I would not hesitate to use A Place for Mom again. Tamara was the best!
This was a seamless and easy process. Katherine was responsive and very helpful! Have a great place for our loved one!
After providing parameters and budget Natalie provided the number of Assisted Living homes for me to tour for my husband with dementia and other health issues. Natalie always followed up with me not only providing best matches for our needs but also with continued support through this very emotional time. Place for Mom provided excellent help and guidance I wouldn't hesitate to use it if you were looking for a place for a loved one.
Michelle was extremely helpful throughout my search for a good placement for my husband who developed memory issues! She was easy to work with, responsive and flexible! She stuck with me and was tremendously helpful throughout the process. She was always quick and willing to answer any questions!
Very easy to work with Laura Berg. She gave me several types options for different levels of care. Mom's situation changed so when that happened she was able to give me new options. I'm going with Elmbrook in Bozrah ct. Amazing staff there and go beyond to mank this transition go well. Definitely a 5 star establishment.
Lynn Moore provided excellent service! Would highly recommend Lynn to anyone needing help understanding the options available to senior care.
I was looking for a place to be comfortable and safe as I grow old. A place for mom did a fantastic job giving me help with places in my area. Names of places, phone numbers- everything I needed.
I did not use this service, only dialed by accident looking for assisted living in my area. The person who answered kept asking questions I did not want to answer, only wanted direct line, which your website is very deceiving about.

Answer: In the Greater Louisville (Kentuckianna) metro area there are several I can recommend you consider based on our tour of recommended facilities in Southern Indiana. As residents of Southern Indiana, just across the river from Louisville, we chose Silvercrest in New Albany Indiana. They offer independent living in freestanding apartments as well as assisted living and also more complete care for those needing it. We also really liked Traditions at Hunters' Station in Sellersburg which has identical options, and Bennett House in Clarksville, which offers assisted living and additional services but does not have independent living. Some of these do have limited Medicaid beds in their nursing facilities.
