I had to move my dad quickly and I didn't know where to start. I looked on line and I saw a link to A Place for Mom, since I had heard of them before, I clicked on the link and was matched with my wonderful consultant Jeremy. He listened to my concerns and asked relevant questions, and helped me sort out what kind of facility would be best for my dad. Within about half an hour I had a list of facilities near me and Jeremy had made an appointment for me at one of them. Two days after I first talked to Jeremy I visited several of the places on the list. One of them was a perfect fit for my dad (and me), since they had an opening and it was within our budget, we moved him in ten days after I first made the decision to move him. It's taking me longer to empty out his old home than it did to find the new home and move him! I wouldn't have thought that was possible and indeed it wouldn't have been without Jeremy's help. If you're not sure about contacting them just click on the link. It won't cost you anything (the service is free) and it might make your search a whole lot easier.
We had a flood in the house and repairs involved asbestos removal so my 102 yr old mother had to move ASAP. APFM found a good quality facility that could move her in in 3 days and would do a 30 day stay with possibility of permanent stay. Mom is having a hard time be moved out of her home of 55 yr but the staff are very kind, the food is excellent, and the ambiance is great. They could use more staff but that is true of any place.
This group was outstanding helping me find a place for my mom. They provided valuable information regarding my search.
When I contacted "A Place For Mom" I was not sure what they were about and how they could help with finding a place for my hubby. Kim understood and guided me through the process. All I needed to do was contact the referrals and try and get an idea what they were like over the phone. I went for the in person interview on the place I thought would be the best for our situation. Finances were a big part of my initial choice, but when I saw the place and spoke with the staff I knew my hubby would love it. Kim had reached out to me and paved the way for my choice and I thank her for that.
We had most of the basic questions, and even some new ones that weren't usual for people to ask when looking for potential care for my mother-in-law. The best information was related to the differences between nursing and memory care and how it tied to mobility of the resident. We had no idea! Was definitely impactful in our decision for what facilities to check out. April scheduled the appointments for us and when we found "the place", she cancelled the rest. Was great having a patient and informative resource available in addition to the extra scheduling help!
Dad had an accident and it became clear that he couldn't live at home any longer. Cindy listened to our needs and recommended several facilities with immediate availability. She also acted as a liaison between Dad's health care provider and the facility that we selected. Great help during a difficult time.
I could not have taken the steps to get Mom into assisted living without A Place for Mom. Alissa was so wonderful and empathetic for our circumstances and journey. Every person that I spoke with went out of their way to help us through every step. This place is everything! Please use them for your difficult decisions with aging parents. Thank you all so very much.
We were struggling trying to find retirement communities online. Not knowing the area, it was difficult to determine where places were located in relation to where we wanted to live. Having A Place for Mom refer us to a local representative who knew the area helped tremendously. She referred us to several communities and helped set up virtual tours. We were then able to find Ashton Commons where we will now live.

The caring, the knowledge, the expediency of service, the support and the follow-up exceeded my wildest expectations. I couldn't have navigated this as well without the input from my advisor.
I needed a home for my sister-in-law, and I had only one week to find a great place for her. Mike Campbell was the answer to my prayers. He immediately found several places near the area I mentioned would suit her best. He checked in with me often as I flew to Phoenix, and was friendly, intelligent, and extremely knowledgeable about all the nuances of my particular situation. I would highly recommend Place for Mom to anyone in need of care for a loved one.
A Place for Mom was a lifesaver for my family. They were always there for me and helped my family without hesitation. I will refer them to everyone that needs assistance.
This is a very good resource for looking for a new home however continuing to look on my own found me a place that wasn't in any list A Place for Mom sent me but I believe whenever I am not able to add my own looking they will be invaluable in finding a location for me
A Place for Mom is a very helpful, no pressure organization, I did not receive an unsolicited email or phone call which was something I dreaded. Their advice and guidance was quilte helpful.
The Senior Advisor, Jody Matheny, was very experienced. She explained the process, gave us several facilities within a specific location with pricing to review and set up appointments as requested. The advice and support was much appreciated in finding the right facility for our elder parents. They are very happy in their new home.
When I found that my 91 year old mother-in-law was being discharged from rehab in 7 days, I was panicked! We had expected her to remain there for another month and had not yet formulated a plan for the next step. I recalled having seen an advertisement for A Place for Mom on TV and called right away. I spoke with Emily, who was awesome. I quickly felt less anxiety and began to feel like we would be able to find a place for her with the very short timeframe we were working with. Emily provided recommendations of places that may be appropriate for my mother in law and provided insight in to the process and what to expect. I feel that the help I received from A Place for Mom enabled me to find a great place for my loved one!

Answer: In the Greater Louisville (Kentuckianna) metro area there are several I can recommend you consider based on our tour of recommended facilities in Southern Indiana. As residents of Southern Indiana, just across the river from Louisville, we chose Silvercrest in New Albany Indiana. They offer independent living in freestanding apartments as well as assisted living and also more complete care for those needing it. We also really liked Traditions at Hunters' Station in Sellersburg which has identical options, and Bennett House in Clarksville, which offers assisted living and additional services but does not have independent living. Some of these do have limited Medicaid beds in their nursing facilities.
