Every pair of glasses from the original to the replacements broke not to mention it takes way to long to get your glasses. They say 15 days but it's more like 20.
Took the family there for checkups. Disappointed in the exam and the overall service. I did purchase glasses, by the end of the purchase, there were no bargains. Sorry to say, won't be going back
Sadly after 12 years of coming to Mrs. ROBINSON the optometrist that lives around the corner me I will never return again do to your employees unprofessionalism. Blonde hair Caucasian woman at front desk canceled my appointment as I was walking in the door and was on the phone when I walked in for 5 additional minutes. After she got off the phone she told me I was 5 mins late and the Dr. ROBINSON could not see me. I told her I had a family emergency as I was told a family member was in coma for bad accident. I asked her to ask Ms. ROBINSON to still see me since I been coming there for 12 years and claimed she went ans asked and she refused to see for being 5 mins late. I told her I will never return to this office again as I was obviously a dollar sign to America best and Dr. ROBINSON. I was there previously in 2021 and waited 3 hours due to America's Best delays but they X me out for 5 minutes late you will never get a dollar from me again!
I was a customer here for years. I spent lots of money at this store on Contacts. I have diabetes, and unfortunately my sugars sometimes go high, and makes my vision change. I had never had any problems with getting my vision checked when these things happen. I was also an eye club member (waste of money). On may 18th I called, because the contacts that I just bought 2 weeks before no longer worked, cause my vision changed. I had just spent $100 for a 30 day supply of contacts. When I called the first time I was told there were no appointments, I called back and asked to talk to a manger. I spoke with a nasty, nasty lady by the name of Rene Gardner(she is the manager). The way that she spoke to me and treated me was unacceptable. She made me feel like I was trying to get something for nothing. I have never felt so horrible. Spoke to me like I was a child and was not at all empathetic to my situation. She finally scheduled me an appointment that day with 45 minutes. I showed up, one of the docs (female, with long brown hair, looked Indian) did my exam and said that she could not get a prescription on one eye, therefore I was not able to get contacts. The ones that I spent $100 on 2 weeks previous no longer worked. I left and I went to another eye care place where I paid $168 and they were able to take care of me and give me contacts.
The fact that I was pushed out and mistreated and had to go else where to spend more money when I had already spent over $300 2 months prior. I will never go to Americas best again. They lost me as a customer, as well as my entire family!
Was 5 minutes late so they said they couldn't see me after I drive 45 minutes to get there, lady at the front desk was rude I will never refer this place to anyone., knoxville Tennessee,
Went in April for eye exam and glasses. After 3 days had to take them back to have the nose piece replaced. 1 week after that had to stop at a eyeglass place to have the are put back on the glasses. 6 months after that everything is blurry the lenses are badly scratched and inorder to see thru the bifocal area I have to close 1 eye cause every thing is doubled visioned. I payed for the scratch protection that didn't seem to be on the glasses. They submitted a claim to my insurance when I was their leaving me with almost 300.00 balance to pay. 4 months later I am getting bills in the mail for over an additional 130.00. What makes it even worst is due to the quality of eye glasses they make I have suffered with migraine headache from the glasses for about 5 months now so if they think they will get another dime from me they are crazy. Their free eye exam is a joke cause that is part of what the 133.00 dollar bill includes. Makes it even worse is they refuse to fix the scratches. I highly advise people to don't use the America best eye place located in razor ranch area in Denton Texas.
Bottom line, I spent $400 which included an eye exam and 2 pairs of glasses (1 computer and 1 distance). The distance glasses don't work for driving. I can't read road signs that are more than 30 feet away (just too blurry). I took the glasses back, and they couldn't do anything for me because 30 days had past since the eye exam. I complained to the main office, and here's the email I sent.
Hello,
I got new glasses from the Petaluma store, and the prescription was wrong. The glasses work well for close range (up to 30 feet), but things are blurry longer distance particularly for road signs. I went back to the store to explain my situation, and was told there's only a 30 day warranty.
The optometrist required a face mask during the entire exam, and her equipment fogged up from my breathing, so I would have to hold my breath at times. I felt rushed through the exam, and feel that's the reason why the prescription was wrong. I'm now having to take a $400 loss and will be going to another optometrist. Needless to say, I'm greatly disappointed with my experience at the Petaluma America's Best store.
My 2pairs of glasses cost over $400. And yet the quality was poor.
And when I picked up my glasses, they were just handed to me. No one checked them on me.
New glasses adventure began 6/23. FINALLY received glassed 8/23. Glasses made wrong due to bad eye exam. 2nd eye exam and again waiting 2 weeks before remake arrived. WRONG COLOR. Staff is not friendly or welcoming at front desk. RUDE, RUDE, RUDE. Lost my original lenses in my Ray-bans, so much unprofessionalism. Avoid this place like the plague. Eye glass exam NOT PROFESSIONAL AT ALL.
Online access it has 24 hour coffee and tea at his teeth had none over no breakfast and it says it has a breakfast online the room was absolutely disgusting The air conditioning didn't work door was broke total s*** hole American's best value in value in Lumberton
South Carolina
I was told by my insurance America's Best was in- network. AB told me my insurance was not accepted and to claim out of network. After making the claim my insurance said they are in network and must provide the refund. I went back to AB and again they said the same without attempting to find out more. After them not wanting to call my insurance I had to pick up my phone and practically demand them to speak with my insurance right there. With complete reluctancing they did. Finally my insurance company educated them and forced the refund. Very incompetent group of employees. They dont want to take responsibilty or at least look futher to help solve issues. There weren't any apoligies for the inconviences afterwards. Customers should not have to press the staff to do some work. Glasses are fine but the ignorance and their reluctancy to get to the bottom of problems are not.
PURCHASED 2 PAIR OF GLASSES ON 8/15.1 FOR READING AND 1 FOR DISTANCE.

ON 9/15 RT. HANDLE OF DISTANCE GLASSES BROKE, SCREW FELL OUT. 1 WHOLE MONTH SINCE THE PURCHASING AND NOW THIS. YOU ONLY GET 1 CHANCE.
I switched to americas best because I don't have a Costco membership anymore and having a family member come with me can be a hassle. I ordered new glasses and was really excited! They forgot to tell me that no glare is extra and they didn't even mention it. So immediately after they arrived they had to be sent back to have the no glare added plus it was an extra cost. After several weeks I finally had my new glasses and was happy. My eyes recently shifted and I wanted to get the lenses updated. I went in today and they told me it would be cheaper to just buy new frames since lenses are included with those.
This was the cost breakdown they gave me today. $15 per eye per pair of glasses. I have 2 pairs so $60 just for the lenses. Then $88 for the no glare on 2 pairs and then they said I have to have a UV light package which was $70 for 2 and I couldn't refuse it. The total came out to $220! WHAT?! I was in shock with how much it costs. At Costco it would be $60 a pair with no glare included. Flat rate!
So much for being the affordable option. When I told them I wasn't paying that they just said "Sorry. Bye"
Seriously not a great experience essentially from the beginning. I'll happily switch back to Costco and keep bothering family until I get my own card.
If you are looking for quick eye glasses forget this company. I have been waiting for over a month for my 3 eye glasses, they are simply +2.00 reading glasses- They are also a crooked organization! They allowed me to buy my girlfriend's sunglasses with my benefits! And yeah- I can prove it! A very crooked and deceitful store in Stroudsburg. Pennsylvania- but if you're looking for crooked, this store is the place! Unfriendly employees, if you call they hang up before you finish, they have an incompetent manager, an optometrist that is also incompetent and will misdiagnose you. Good luck getting your frames adjusted, they can't even get that right! My eye surgeon says stay away from this place. This place does not appreciate the customers or the sales. The corporate office of this store does not care either about their vision centers or the lousy staff they hire, unfortunately nothing will change at this store. The vision center at Walmart is 1000% better than Americas Best by a long shot.
I spend over 400.00 at the location in Indio Ca and the quality and craftsmanship of the glasses were terrible, the driving glasses lenses kept coming off so naturally I took them back after 3 days they call me saying that the glasses were ready to be picked up and when I got there to try them on there were still coming of the frames the staff notify me that it was due to the frames and lenses not matching and that if i wanted them fix it was going to cost me 79.00 more and the staff was REALLY RUDE. My recommendation would be Save your money and shop elsewhere where the product is better quality and specially Staff could be nicer. ZERO RATING
I ordered a new pair of glasses on the 18th because I lost my pair for driving the option Theresa was very helpful on helping me order a new pair this is the second time I went to Americas best for glasses and everyone was very helpful on me getting what I was looking for I would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs personal service from a great business thank you Teresa for your help.
I have a complaint about the store on Waddell Road in Surprise, Arizona. I transferred my account from the store in Phoenix, Arizona, which I had a very good experience, because I had moved. When I ordered my glasses from the store in Surprise, I went to pick my glasses up. I tried them on, and they were WRONG! They made me feel like I was cross-eyed, I wanted to throw up! I tried to tell the employee that I was seeing cross-eyed, but she did not believe me. I had to end up getting up and walking out. I called them later, and told them I did not want them, I could see better without them. I wanted a refund, they told me I had to come in and get my refund. I have also ordered contacts, but I am not getting anything from this store in Surprise. I am trying to calm down, so that I don't make a scene when I go there. I am still very angry, I refuse to accept glasses or contacts that are going to ruin my vision. I am not blind, I just want to see things, clearer. I can see things but they are not as sharp as they could be. I am not going to wear anything that makes me feel like I am cross-eyed.
The lens fell out of the frame two seconds out the door. They refused to repair/replace... $#*! AmerIcas WORST ete glasses. And $69.95 LIES it cost $390.00
The manager at Oviedo Florida America's Best is THE WORST. I've been wearing contacts for 30 years. I have astigmatism on one eye and CANNOT WEAR a bifocal. They ordered me the wrong contacts. When I called she had the audacity to tell me to "stop diagnosing" myself. Their doctors are the ones who diagnosed me. Freaking idiots
Putting eye health at risk is repulsive and shameful! I ENCOURAGE YOU TO GO ELSEWHERE. You get what you pay for - they are cheap and so you get cheap. I would rather pay more for competency than less for idiocracy.
I just wanted to say thank you so much American best especially the manager Rita was so friendly helpful thank you so much America best I wear I plan to recommend other family members and friends to this place
Answer: I got a super cheap clear plastic case, very cheap
Answer: From my experience, calling America's Best customer service is an exercise in wasting time. The telephone supervisor I spoke with displayed no interest in the mistreatment at the store, the store's loss of eye exam/purchase records, or the manager's apparent hostility towards the disabled. I was actually informed all America's Best stores have a partially hidden ("not-prominently displayed") sign stating the store can refuse service to anyone. This should be investigated.
Answer: Thought I would be getting two pairs of glasses for $79.99. False advertising there!
Answer: Potential customers have the option of going online and going through the wide variety of frames (divided into men, women, and kids and price-point categories). Then, go to the store, hand your list to your consultant, and try on the frames. There are other on-line sellers that glasses by mail. I was turned off at the complicated criteria for measuring one's face for a proper fit. I prefer to get fitted on-site, not online.
Answer: I can't answer for any store but the one I visited. My eye exam there was conducted on Saturday morning. I do believe all stores do offer Saturday appointments, but best check by calling first.
The company exhibits a mixed reputation, with notable strengths in certain locations where customers report positive interactions and helpful staff. However, a significant number of reviews highlight serious concerns regarding customer service, including perceived incompetence, rudeness, and a lack of adequate support. Many customers express frustration with misleading pricing and service delays, particularly related to glasses prescriptions. Overall, while some locations provide satisfactory service and quality products, widespread complaints about inconsistency in service and product reliability suggest a pressing need for improvement in customer care and operational efficiency across the board.
