DO NOT GO HERE…I paid for a contact lens appointment for my son which they will not release without a class which they cannot provide. I said I paid for a prescription and they would not release it so I could go elsewhere without this class which they could not provide. And even worse they don't tell you up front!
I got my new eyeglasses from America's Best eyeglasses in Westchester (8590 sw 24 st, Miami on August 2023. Staff was EXCELLENT. Seller Marlen and Store managers Anay and EMiro were very Helpful.I am very happy with my purcharse. Staff was beyond professional. Thank you.
If you wanna be treated like a human being GO ELSEWHERE! I was forced to wear a surgical mask despite telling them I fainted wearing a surgical mask at my dog's vet office and they still made me wear it or I couldn't be seen. Their website stated that if you are unable to wear a mask to "protect the employees" you need to return in the future. Clearly America's Best has forgotten that without customers THEY ARE OUT OF BUSINESS!
The folks at the Powell location was very professional and friendly. The glasses was repaired and fitted. We'll be returning in the near future for an eye exam. I give them a 5 star review.
Ive been going to the New Port, Fl. Store for 3 years. It has been a pleasant and everyone has been so nice and helpful. Iam pretty much in and out. Surprised at how quick my glasses show up.
I had a vision exam this morning at this place. It was the only mistake I made today. Completing the pre-exam and visiting with the Doctor was pleasant. When it was time to discuss the glasses I was interested in, went left quickly. She was extremely rude! I asked her to clean them and it was like I said something wrong. She said the glasses are clean. I was not the only one touching glasses. Did she forget that Covid is still alive and around. Monkey pox has become a neighbor and not a nice one. She sat in front of her computer entering information and informed me without insurance the glasses would have cost over 400.00 but with insurance my price was $148.00 dollars. I asked to see the bread down and she act as if she was disgusted by me asking. She stated something to effect that she don't have anything to do with cost. Really! I'm a customer. Why does she think she had to say that. When she did turn the computer around for me to see how much my insurance was paying and my actual cost, it was a different amount than what she shared with me. I saw $88.00 dollars. Then she said she made a mistake. I can't trust this company. I won't ever come back or recommend this American Best. This lady isn't an asset to this company.
Not worth the money I spent, glasses fell off my face and they want me to pay full price of the frame to fix them... no thanks. I just bought these 2 weeks ago, and spent a lot of money
They don't take the right time to check your eyes good because of so many people they see everyday.
I waited more time to get my prescription then the 5 minutes he took to do my exam.
Girl is a snotty unpleasant unprofessional twit! And dirty feet to boot! Have been trying to get a MV form completed for 3 weeks but the girl is too stupid to understand what is needed! Garfield NJ!
I enjoyed my visit@ your Longview location today from the moment I walked in the door I was greeted with warm inviting smiles from the receptionist. That made me feel welcome and not so nervous since it was my first time getting my eyes examined. Overall, everyone treated me well and I will definitely be back and I will also recommend my family and friend KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
2 yrs in a row they screwed up my prescription, order my contacts wrong, I feel like I overpaid. Now I have to pay cash wherever I go because they used up my yearly insurance allowance, after trying on my contacts I mentioned to the doctor that I couldn't see past the front door and he said "Ok no worries I'll bump it up. Have a good day. I paid all that many for 3 months supply of contacts and can't see anything and can't use them... NEVER AGAIN AMERICA'S WORCE! NOT BEST... still can't see.
The FRAUDULENT claim that it's $79.95 for an eye exam plus two pairs of glasses is absolutely a balld face LIE. They charge $79.95 for the exam and prescription. Then they charge for frames, lenses, scratch guard, progressive lenses, and warranty. They are LYING through their teeth to get SUCKERS in the door. It hasn't always been like this. I have been a customer since the mid 1990's and was satisfied and returned. Honestly, I will NEVER, EVER use America's WORST contacts and eyeglasses ever again! Also, In Grandview, Missouri they don't have a Doctor on site! The exam was performed by a flunky who told me she was the doctor's hands! Really beyond BAD, HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! They get a NEGATIVE 10 star rating! 💩💩💩
They do not know how to fit you properly with the correct glasses and do not stand behind their one year warranty. Do NOT waste your time or money here.
You are wasting your money if you go to this America's WORST I mean America's Best America's best IS the WORST ever in customer service in filling the prescription in your glasses and contacts oh! And let's not forget the employees and more so the Managers especially that male DISTRICT MANAGER in San Antonio Tx. That handles/handled the Walzem store. He is from a different optical shop. As soon as I find out his name, his name will be mentioned.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AT THIS HORRIBLE OPTICAL BUSINESS.
This place ONLY SELLS frames DISCONTINUED, DAMAGED and REJECTS
I will never go back nor will I ever under any circumstance give them a good review. After reading letters off on a wall the dr? Told me I needed cataract surgery I won't name who she tried to hook me up with but thhey have to be in on the scam also ai declined the referral but went to the VA and had another eye exam done which was very thourgh, he checkedeverything about my eyes and said that I did not need cataract surgery now for the contacts I could not see more than six ft in front odf me everything was a blur so I ordered some accueview lenses on line and this Dr? Turned down my order from another co. Which Iwas paying for out of my own pocket. Why she did this I haven't a clue. Now they refuse to call me and give and explanation why. I highly recommend to avoid Ammericas Best
This is in PARTICULAR about the Bishop Plaza 1400 W. 47th Street, Chicago, Illinois. They had me fill out a questionnaire about if any one had COVID-19 within the past 14 days within my household. My family member was positive but tested again negative after the follow-up. I tested negative. The Bishop Plaza should've told me this before I drove to their location and I would have brought our test results. Instead, it was a wasted trip to THIS PARTICULAR LOCATION. The doctor could have told me to go home and come back with proof, but instead they told me to reschedule for the next week... no way! This was on 11/14/20@ 2:15 PM.
$79 just gets you two frames and an eye exam. If you want prescription glasses in your frames you pay normal prices that ad up with your options such as transition, bifocal, scratch guard. By the time you are done you may have a bill of $300 or so for just one pair of the glasses. If you can't afford the 2nd pair of glasses, they will tell you, that's fine but in that case, the eye exam will cost you since it's no longer free unless you buy the two pair of glasses. $400 for one complete pair of glasses is a whole lot more than $79 advertised for two pair. That makes their advertising false. It's frames not complete glasses. I bought a pair and had to pay for the exam as well because I couldn't afford the second pair. I like the glasses but that's not the point. The sales person was also terrible. She spewed out her memorized script without even looking at me. Very rude, impersonal. If I asked questions she repeated very rapidly her memorized response to why the ad didn't match the numbers she was giving me. Never get glasses here unless you plan to pay the same price you would pay elsewhere. You're not getting a good deal.
This is the second (2nd) time I made an appointment at this location and walk-ins are priority! Staff were rude and snappy and I don't see how they still have a job! I hope that someone in Corporate Office reads this review and make some changes. As far as now, I will preach to people in the Pearland Community, DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS LOCATION! There's another one 4 minutes away on the other side of 288!
There were a couple "hiccups" when ordering my glasses but Mike stepped up and got everything straightened out and ended up making the experience a good one. Thanks Mike!
I have gone to America's Best for over 5 years. I have been to multiple locations and loved my original doctor and experience. She was patient and kind. The support staff there was also courteous and professional. Today I was greeted by someone who was incompetent and referred to me by my last name. Then I was was pointed down a long hallway and told to have a seat. (Too much trouble to at a minimum stand, offer a pleasant greeting and direct I suppose). Met next by the technician who does the pre-doctor tests. She was wearing flip flops over socks, would make ZERO eye contact, did not offer a greeting (she did get my name right though), I am a survivor so those stupid air tests are almost impossible. I apologized and said I couldn't do it. She seemed mostly annoyed the entire time and treated me like I was an animal she despised or was forced to care for. For contrast the doctor was lovely. She answered my questions, was kind and we even shared a laugh or too. She was also professional and knowledgeable. However I will NEVER come to America's best ever again. I will also make sure to tell everyone I know who wears contacts and glasses to never come here
Answer: I got a super cheap clear plastic case, very cheap
Answer: From my experience, calling America's Best customer service is an exercise in wasting time. The telephone supervisor I spoke with displayed no interest in the mistreatment at the store, the store's loss of eye exam/purchase records, or the manager's apparent hostility towards the disabled. I was actually informed all America's Best stores have a partially hidden ("not-prominently displayed") sign stating the store can refuse service to anyone. This should be investigated.
Answer: Thought I would be getting two pairs of glasses for $79.99. False advertising there!
Answer: Potential customers have the option of going online and going through the wide variety of frames (divided into men, women, and kids and price-point categories). Then, go to the store, hand your list to your consultant, and try on the frames. There are other on-line sellers that glasses by mail. I was turned off at the complicated criteria for measuring one's face for a proper fit. I prefer to get fitted on-site, not online.
Answer: I can't answer for any store but the one I visited. My eye exam there was conducted on Saturday morning. I do believe all stores do offer Saturday appointments, but best check by calling first.
The company exhibits a mixed reputation, with notable strengths in certain locations where customers report positive interactions and helpful staff. However, a significant number of reviews highlight serious concerns regarding customer service, including perceived incompetence, rudeness, and a lack of adequate support. Many customers express frustration with misleading pricing and service delays, particularly related to glasses prescriptions. Overall, while some locations provide satisfactory service and quality products, widespread complaints about inconsistency in service and product reliability suggest a pressing need for improvement in customer care and operational efficiency across the board.
