I've been getting my eyeglasses from America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses for several years. This month (3/2022) I went into the Sycamore Commons store in Matthews NC & there was a sign I never saw before saying something like "We DO accept other doctors' Rx" and thought that was odd. When I went into the store & told the clerk there that I was not there for an eye exam but rather there to get glasses for my prescription in hand - all I was going to do was to shop on my own for frames and once I found them, I was content to wait for the next available salesperson to take care of me - I was told to come back in 3 hours! No way was I going to travel 35 min back home and then make the trip again. So I went to Costco (in the same mall) and got my glasses for less and was waited on almost immediately. To be told to leave and come back is, simply, unacceptable. They may be the best for contacts and eyeglasses, but they sure are anything but best in customer service. America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses has lost another years-long customer.

Would give zero stars is possible...I went in for glasses, waiting for my appt, looking at glasses and was told the doctor was ready and said just give me a minute to make sure they have a frame I liked...Was told NO! You have to get the eye exam before I can find a frame...AYFKM! So I could go through the whole process and not find a frame I like? Avoid Like the plague as they just want your money and couldn't care less if you get what you want and paid for!...Un freakin believable! I'll would rather go blind before I step in a ABE again! Guess that's why the TERRIBLE reviews and why there was 3 people in the whole store, THEY GOT THE MEMO!
It's unacceptable that a patient needs to be re-scheduled for a regular annual exam, TWO visits. I, 68 years old, have set up an appointment to get the doctor's diagnosis of my eye vision and eye itchy/ eyelid irritation, at Marina *******. Unfortunately, Dr. Priya Bhuva O.D. Didn't discuss the condition of my eyes while I sought her opinion. Her only concern was referring me to the front desk for making my prescription order. I requested eye dilation, which is a common procedure performed on a regular basis, but the doctor informed me, by the General Manager Cynthia Molina, it's not needed. I insisted on performing the dilation for ensuring the status of my eye cataract, so the odd Dr. Bhuva accepted my request and asked the manager to re-schedule me but not before two weeks of my visit as she is busy. Thus, I asked the manager to provide me with a written statement that I do not need this procedure as I am a busy person too. Hence, the doctor changed her decision and dilated my eyes eventually. Personally, I had a bad and terrible experience with" America's Best Eye Care "and I don't trust them. I wouldn't recommend it ever!
In 2019 I bought perscritpion sunglasses and regular glasses. When I picked them up I complained that the sunglasses were to dark and was told their sunglasses they are suppose to be dark. I went back 2 times to complain I could not wear them they were to dark and again was told they were sunglasses.
I went back in Oct 2019 and again bought sunglasses and regular glasses. I should them the previous sunglasses and the rep looked at them and called the manager and they said they were way to dark they were blocking 95% of light. Of course they made no effort to correct the problem nor offer a discount on the new ones. I bought the new sunglasses and the regular glasses and have had to go back 10 times in 10 months to get something repaired that fell off life nose pieces or screws holding the lens in. I complained to the store manager who gave me their corporate customer service and I called them 2 times was on hold for over 45 minutes. The second call I left a message and it has been 4 weeks and no call back. I was told by the manager that glasses were like a car and needed routine maintenance. I have worn glasses for 45 years and never had go back 10 times for repairs. I will never buy from them again. Buyer beware. Price sounds good but no customer service and no fixing problems.
The Reps are VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, no communication, having customers to fill out forms not 1 but 2x, RUDE & UNEDUCATED! Reps have no ideal to their surroundings or their Job. But Mort Importantly, Violating Federal Law HIPPA! No training in any emergency situation! Not even when a customer took their asthma spray trying to breathe. The reps were worried about the Asthmatic customer, who was struggling to breathe, putting on his mask that don't Protect ANYONE with many studies, with 1 being https://www.thehealthyamerican.org/masks-dont-work, provides evidence to this & not 1 study provides any evidence that mask work not even in surgery. This Business treat customers like a heard of cows.

So I ordered two sets of glasses in store. Now I went in there and wanted to get the 2 for 79. Well I picked two sets of glasses and both were marked for 79$ so I was like sweet let's get these. I opted for nothing else to be added. Well I didn't even pay attention to the total and swiped the card and walked out. By that time it was 6:45 so I'll just call in the morning and get it resolved. We'll I called and she said she told me multiple times that was going to be more because one of the 79$ was not under the deal. I said okay well let's get these glasses in and I want to return the one par to get the deal. Well out of spite she hit the refund button and said Well you have to reschedule a appointment. Remember they were booked out a month before i could get in and as I looked they weren't even taking appointments because it was over 30 days before I could get in. So I asked if I could just come in and look at the frames to buy them and she hung up. So long story short I ended up calling customer service, got right in, got the script for free, and went to Walmart.
I got my glasses in May two weeks later a got scratch in my left Len's they fixed it and after two weeks later the right lens got scratched I was going to take it back but I don't want to listen to it bad glasses worse even Iam done with them spent to much money on them it's not a good deal way to much money spent find another company have a wonderful day

Reexamination - I noticed lenses of the test machine were dirty. That is why I could not see clearly during exam. They stated nothing wrong with lenses.

Total disappointment. I received my eye exam which was the only thing I can say was good about the visit. I have insurance with a co-pay and was told I still had to pay almost $300 for the one pair of glasses that the the young lady told me I could only get that were $69.95. I choose two pair that was the same price of $69.95, she said I could only get one pair. My insurance covers $200.of the glasses. Then she shows me a chart that show only each section of the lens that the prescription is put in and that is the only area of the lens that would be able to see out of which is Bull. The prescription is suppose to be put in the whole lens not just in the very center so reading you would only be able to see the very center of the page and not the whole page. They are getting over ripping people off with that chart that is labeled as different packages. They're false advertising. When I taken my granddaughter there and purchased two pair of glasses with out insurance, I was not presented with no chart nor was I told I had to pay extra hundreds of dollars. I only paid the $69.95 + tax. I hope that the representatives working there aren't ripping people off making money off them on the side, something is not right with this company. Be ware!
I confirmed my appt twice (once via text and a phone call the day before). The day of the appt I got a call from Sandy advising the doctor could not make 5 appt if I could be there by 4 or reschedule. I work during the week and my son to whom the app is for works on the weekend so it is a task to get a time that works for both of us...My son had alrdy asked to leave early from work in advance so we could make the appt.I really did not want to reschedule.so I told her give me the 4 appt and I will call to confirm one hour before...then she says can you be here before 4.I said no...please leave my appt for 4...I will confirm before 3.At 2 I called back to confirm my appt and Sandy (the same person I had talked to previously) was quick to say I did not have an appt...after much push back...she agreed to leave the appt for 4. And I would try to make it before.wow...let me add I also filled out the form the day before...I would hope a customer would not have to go thru all this gymnastic to get an appt confirmed even when you agree to get there one hour earlier than your previous appt...Sandy could be more customer focused and put herself in the customer shoes if she will continue on this role...

I seen the commercial on tv about their great deals 2 eye glasses for 69 dollars.So I am thinking this should be great. So a year ago I purchased one of their designer frames, Randy Jackson. I also pay for transtional glassware. However the glassware continue to fall out. I reported American best they informed me to bring them back, where they witnessed the same thing. American best apologize for the inconvenience and they retained my glasses for about two weeks. However after 2 weeks I called to see if they was ready. American best, said they had to send them back because of the same issue (the i glass was continue to fall out of the frame. I was told by management it will be just a little longer that they were going to contact management who I guess would take care of the problem. That I was having. So I waited adtional one in a half weeks. I finally got them back. However after getting them back it's been less then six months and I am having the same problem. The eye glass keeps falling out of the frame. I bought my designer frame/ eye glasses just over a year ago. I paid over 700 dollars for my glasses. At American best eye glasses here in Kansas City Mo. ******* State Line Rd Kansas City. Mo, *******. I recently contacted American best over the phone 3 days ago. I was told to bring them back in. Waited an hour before I got a chance to see the doctor. The doctor was rushing and, in a hurry, basically booting me out of the office I guess because they were so slow or behind not sure. I sit with a tech to pick out my glasses and I get measured she writes my order up and told me about a deal I would get if I waited to pay the next day. I called the next day no one could find the order I was told someone would call me back they never did. So I called the next day they still couldn't find the order I never got a call from anyone so I went to the store to just pick up my prescription. The same girl that took my order for the glasses that helped me was basically nonchalant about losing my order and not calling me back and they never found what the information that we worked. When I got home and looked at the prescription that she wrote out for me actually spelled my name wrong on the script so I think she did it on purpose. So I left out of there with a pair of contacts that was just a tryon pair no glasses and no boxes of contacts. Horrible experience
