A year ago I would have rated Amazon a 4 or 5, but lately it is not very reliable. I many instances deliveries have not been made on the day promised, especially next day. I get "delayed" notifications with option to cancel. Well, in August I cancelled after the indicated time and the item was not delivered. However, my credit did not post, so I called and spoke with a live person who assured me that he would take care of it. Two weeks later, still no credit. I called aain and she needed to confirm my account. Why? The e-mail (s) that she allegedly sent for that purpose were never arrived, and because I have no mobile phone associated with the account, and because I do not have the Amazon Ap, she couldn't do anything, including putting me through to a supervisor. I would never receive my $49,24 refund. I had the order number available, but they still had to CONFIRM my account. I finally got it resolved by requesting a call back via Amazon, My Accpunt. My question was, why did they need anything other than the order number. They would have simply crdeited the account originally debited. WHERE IS THE RISK? There was none. I couldn't unerstand why their e-mails were not coming through, afterall, I had one a half an hour before my call confirming an order. I had a gazillion Amazon e-mails in my mail box. The account I used was the one used for my Prime fee. It took an hour an 4 different people to fix what I consider a very simple problem, credit the account that was debited. With Amazon being so HUGE, it was hard to believe they could not do a simple little thing, and was more than willing to keep my refund.
Great service, prices, selection and customer service should you ever need it.

Answer: This problem began when Amazon Market Place started up and when I saw how bad it was with sellers selling at 3 to 4 times the full retail price at other online stores, it was a hint for me to stop supporting Amazon Market Place. If its sold by Amazon, I might buy it but I do my utmost to find a lower price so I don't have to buy it from Amazon. More often than not Bestbuy or Staples has it for the same or lower price. Bought an Asus RT AC 5300 from Bestbuy for 500 Canadian and it doesn't sell for less at Amazon. Returns are no hassle 30 day returns and no shipping just take it to a local retail store and that saves the wrapping and shipping.
