AliExpress Reviews Summary

The overall reputation of the company reflects significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily due to pervasive issues with order fulfillment, delayed deliveries, and inadequate customer service. Many customers report difficulties in receiving refunds and resolving disputes, often feeling ignored or misled by the company's support channels. Positive aspects, such as product variety and competitive pricing, are overshadowed by complaints regarding fraudulent sellers and the lack of buyer protection. This trend indicates a pressing need for the company to enhance its customer service protocols and ensure accountability among its sellers to rebuild trust with consumers.

I formerly did a lot of dealing with Aliexpress but then I had three things go wrong in a row. The first was a shipment that simply got lost. It took TWO MONTHS for me to get a refund on this. The seller promised to send me a new item and then reneged on this. Radio silence from him and then after I opened a dispute and Aliexpress found in my favour for a refund - I got a million emails from him, convinced that I would still get the package, and if I did, could I pay for the item! The second item was something quite expensive which I ordered - they put a very insufficient address on it (my name, flat 4, wellington, NZ: FFS!) and unsurprisingly the item was returned to the seller about 3 weeks after they sent it. The issue here was I only found this out after doing my own parcel tracking, they never told me it had been returned to them. Again - I have had to open a dispute, which is taking sheer weeks to resolve - the parcel was returned to them one month ago. The last item was from a nicer seller - again - the address was insufficient - the first parcel was returned to the seller - and weeks later - he sent me another one, but that one is now lost and I can only assume that the address is again insufficient.

So the regular problems I have with this site are: the item descriptions are very "asian" and almost never have essential descriptions like "how big is the item?" what are the measurements? I buy a lot of technical electrical parts and these measurements are crucial to know.

The second issue is the language barrier has caused far too many problems - the slow shipping is another factor. The language problem means that half the time, the shippers do not understand, or are too lazy to put down down your correct address. When an item takes 3-4 weeks to get to you, and another 2-3 weeks to get returned to china - this is a HUGE problem.

After I get these issues with current shipments resolved with Aliexpress, I will never use them again - these issues are simply too stressful. Chances are that similar sellers (with a better grasp of english) are selling the same parts on ebay anyway - and there you have better protection with paypal. Not recommended if you like actually receiving your items.

Aliexpress "Buyer protection" offers zero safeguards for delivery or for the item being fit for purpose.

Fine for small cheap items that you do not mind losing or don't care if they work or not but for anything more valuable it is very big risk and there is no warranty and customer support is a joke.

Bought an item ($360) the seller send the wrong item so now I have to accept it, pay customs and fees, send it back, but they always tell you to send in the most cheap way, so time will go buy, you will lose your buyer protection. More than that, you can only get refund for what you payed, the return shipping is on you!

What a horrible experience. I never like Chinese products and I sure don't like doing business with Chinese.

They are crooks!
June 4, 2018

DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THEM!
I wish I read all the reviews here first before I decided to lose my money.
1. They take several weeks just to reply any questions.
2. Any customer service chat and e-mail does not work. It gives you the same automated responses with no solutions
3. If you open dispute, they will close it at their disposal with out any agreement from the buyer side.
4. You cannot reopen the case at all.
5. They say they will give refund but the dollar amount will be $0.00.
6. You will not be able to leave a review on their site if it is a bad review.
Companies like AliExpress is what bring Chinese products and Services a bad name. I will never order from any Chinese export companies because of this experience.

Hi All, I had ordered few items from this cheating Aliexpress and I received one of the product worth AED 7 but I paid AED 14 for E-post handling charges, which was not mentioned while ordering and the product is scrap so I filled a dispute. Refund was promised but its been a month no progress and I have no hope on refund. Meantime I had ordered few more items worth AED 92 and now I cancelled my order because I had bad experience on first delivery and after 3 months of order I have not received the items, Ali express just blocked me so I cannot contact them. Now I do not have the item nor the refund... I am really surprised that how UAE allows this Aliexpress in UAE, I lost almost more than 100 AED with this company. I suggest not to use this website... I have records for all my statement and I am also filling a case with consumer rights. If someone needs further information contact me at *******@gmail.com

I pass an order 2 weeks ago with ALIEPRESS. I paid and just the day after they locked my account.
I'm contacting them 3 times and the only answer I'm getting is that they have to send an investigation report and I have to wait for 2 or 3 days. No one is doing follow-up, they took my money and now I'm stuck, because they are not doing any effort to help me. They just don't care. Keep receiving the same answer to wait for 2 business days.
But in the mean time, I was able to change my password without even login in my account! No service at all, no possibility to cancel my order as per to cancel-it I have to login, no help.
Horrible service and company. Don't order, just run and save your money!
Reason of review: Poor customer service.
Monetary Loss: $293.

Not as it seems
May 28, 2018

My experience. I ordered a piece for my car. I received it in a timely manner but the color was wrong. So I complained to Aliexpress and they approved the return. They gave me directions to package the item securely and return it in the mail. After I ship it out they wanted the tracking number. I gave it to them. After it left Chicago to China, no more information was given on tracking. The seller complained and Aliexpress told me I needed more evidence or my refund would not happen. I kept asking the customer service what i formation they needed and they kept saying dont worry we will take care of it. The option to add evidence was not available and I brought that up to them and they claimed to have made a note of it. So they told me to wait until the deadline for submitting g and I did. Turns out Aliexpress gave the seller my money. I no longer have the item, I lost $200 and the extra $23 it had cost to send it. I will never do business with this company again. Lost my respect and trust

I placed an order on March 18th under Order ID ************** for purchase of Oximetre and paid US $ 27.19 I was informed that I should receive the goods by April 14th. On not receiving the goods I checked on tracker, which stated goods in transit and should arrive by May 17th failing which to approach customer service. Not having received the material till even May 19th, I was able to reach customer service only on line and that too after attempting to reach them for hours. On the chat the lady confirmed that I should get refund within three days. Thereafter I received a mail stating that the supplier states that goods are delivered. I requested that please send me proof of delivery, but thereafter there is no response and now I am unable to contact customer service. They have no telephone number and no email address where one can seek clarification. In todays time of online business becoming a major source of supply to consumers, AliExpress certainly does not seem to be one you can trust. I am glad that I had not purchased anything more expensive and I RECOMMEND TO ALL, PLEASE DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM ALIEXPRESS UNLESS PAYMENT IS TO BE MADE ON DELIVERY. MAKE PAYMENT ONLY AFTER YOU RECEIVE AND INSPECT THE GOODS BEFORE YOU MAKE PAYMENT. I HAD THOUGHT Alibaba was a reliable name, but unfortunately my trust was wrongly placed. I CAN ONLY SAY THAT I HAVE BEEN CHEATED AND IT IS NOTHING SHORT OF FRAUD ON INNOCENT PURCHASERS.

Buyers Beware
May 27, 2018

Be very careful when buying from AliExpress. Actually, it is better if you don't buy at all. It will save you money from return shipping. Many dishonest sellers, especially with gold and silver jewelry. Quality is bad. You might end up with fake silver. Don't be deceived also with jewelry sellers showing certificate of authenticity on their store. Some are just for show. I bought a gold jewelry that comes with a supporting certificate of authenticity at AliExpress, but the certificate is fake/invalid. The certificate also shows a website of the authentication company that isn't real. The weight of the jewelry on the store's site does not match what was on the certificate. If sellers sends customers fake certificates, there is a possibility customers can receive fake jewelry from sellers, even if seller's store shows valid certificate of authenticity, I wanted to cancel my other incoming orders when the items I received from another store was of poor quality but AliExpress and Seller denied my cancellation request. AliExpress sided with seller even when it is too obvious the bracelets I first received was too small. AliExpress denied my right to cancel any pending orders from that store. I end up receiving products I can't even use or sell. Another friend and I received a fake silver jewelry with a fake 925 stamp from another Aliexpress seller. We knew it was fake because we went to a jeweller to have it authenticated. Jewelry is fake 925 silver. The 925 silver jewelry I got turned black immediately and no jewelry cloth can make it return back to silver colour. I wanted to return but I know it is just a waste of time and more money. The other seller I encountered is not consistent. The first time, the product sold to you is good, but the second time, quality is poor and not what you expected. Don't be deceived by their prices. It maybe be cheap but it is still not worth it. The wait is also long. I have way more bad experience at AliExpress than any other online store. If you plan to resell any real silver/gold jewelry or goods bought from AliExpress, better think it through because your Store/company might end up getting a bad reputation of selling fake jewelry/inferior goods. You might think you got a good deal but in the long run might regret it in the future.

I have been shopping with AliExpress for a few years now and I now check the website every single time I look to purchase anything from anywhere. I buy a bunch of things at once because I love getting "Surprise" packages every couple days. I am so impressed with the ease of communicating with the sellers and the free shipping is unbeatable. The vast variety of products and free shipping will keep me a customer forever!

Warranty period
May 25, 2018

Seller on aliexpress indicate warranty period on their shop. But If the product you receive during warranty period breaks down, they ask you to return it back. But in many case the costs to send it back is more than the price of the product, The sellers know this and for this reason many of them ask you to return it back in any case if you want repair it or refund. But they know that you will never send it back because is not convenient and the warranty will never be used. Now some sellers indicate a special warranty for this kind of problem but I never used it till now.

Theives
May 25, 2018

I bought and paid for a product on 29 March 2018. I have the trans action confirmation from my credit card company. On the purchase information "Ali Express" claimed 6-8 week delivery. Today is 25 May 2018. No product. The purchase also claimed a confirmation/tracking number would be e-mailed to me. I never got one. The "Ali Express" web site for customer service is a dead end. There is no phone number and the so-called 24 hr chat will not connect without a pass word which is WHAT? Luckily I'm only out a small amount. "Ali Express" is a scam. Save your money... order $1 item or so before you risk more and you will see for yourself.

Ordered 10 items from a Chinese merchant that they described as being new. When the items arrived, they did look new, but when I went to use them, they were all obviously factory rejects because none of them operated correctly. Two of them didn't even work at all.

The merchant said I would get a full refund only if the items were returned at buyer's expense. When I learned it would cost more to ship them back to China than what they cost, I asked for a partial refund without having to ship them back. The merchant refused. When I opened a dispute with Aliexpress, they backed the seller, no refund unless I ship them back. See, that's where they get you. Unless the item is very expensive and weighs almost nothing, they know that no buyer is going to pay the huge shipping costs to return defective items back to the seller, therefore by de facto, the Aliexpress buyer protection program is nothing more than a scam.
