I've use Agoda frequently and it is very user friendly and nice deals are available. It even covers very small hotels to 5-star standards.
Having done research on other sites, I booked through Agoda because it provided the best deal for the Sydney hotel during their sale.
Booked a room in Sydney for latter half of January 2016. Agora provided good rates, an easy to use reservation system, and no cancellation charges. Way to go!

I've booked with Agoda in China, the US, Spain, Italy, Germany and Australia. It's always been simple and secure with non of the frustrations that go with other booking sites. I've even made mistakes and had to phone a human and actually spoken to someone who cares, speaks good English and was able to easily solve the problem at no cost.
Agoda.com never fails me to provide an easy, secure & quick hotel booking service.
However, the exclusion of 21% taxes & fees from the shown rate should be always put in your mind before making the decision to book, as it may give false impression on the first sight, especially when you book multiple nights for multiple rooms.

It is so easy to use this site, especially when you already know which hotel you are going to stay at. I find prices on Agoda are generally the lowest among the booking websites, so it is always where are look when I am ready to book.
Agoda are also excellent on follow up. Last year during the flight delays as a result of the eruption of a volcano on Java my flights were delayed. We kept Agoda informed and they changed bookings a couple of times until we arrived. Then I received a call just to check us and see we were OK. There were no financial penalties at all. They give excellent service and are a joy to do business with.

Incredibly frustrated and annoyed at Agoda's Book Now, Pay Later service. The booking was made by my partner 7 months ago and the payment is very strategically made 23 days prior to arrival which leaves just a 48 hour window for cancellation. No email is sent to confirm payment or to advise of pending payment. You have to come across the transaction within 48 hours otherwise you lose 100%. Adoga very kindly *sarcasm* kept 50% of our money ($500) - this is not a reasonable cancellation fee when cancelling 20 days prior to travel.
Yes, the terms were in writing 7 months ago BUT, they are still using a practice to ensure that customers don't get the opportunity to cancel if they do need to rather than openly communicating with customers as to when a credit card will be charged.
We booked for a room as Westin Chosun in Seoul. At the end of the booking process I was told that the booking was successful and all I had to do was wait for the voucher to be emailed to me. It did not come.
I asked the customer service team and was told that my booking did not go through. But when I checked my bank I was already charged. I asked the customer service but they are useless! They will give you the run around.
I provided a copy of my bank statement and gave my card details. It did no help.
Bottom line. They do no want to give me a refund. We ended up booking with bookings.com. So much better.

Answer: For me as well very bad experience with this site. The administrator failed to confirm my booking in the evening, claiming they could not see it in their system and stating that the reserved room was unavailable, despite all the correct booking information being provided. Instead, they offered me a different room. At 10 PM on December 31st, traveling with a child, I had no choice but to agree and pay again for the alternative room. I immediately reported the issue to Agoda for assistance. The room we were given was in an unacceptable condition: it was dirty, there were holes in the bathroom walls, and mold was visible. It was nowhere near the standard described in the booking. The following morning, a different administrator located my original booking and refunded the payment for the additional room. However, they falsely claimed that I had stayed in the room I originally booked. This is not true—the room I stayed in differed significantly from the description and photos provided at the time of booking. Despite providing all necessary evidence, Agoda has refused to support my complaint, stating that the hotel confirmed my booking, which does not address the poor service, the forced additional payment, or the unacceptable condition of the room. This experience demonstrates an appalling lack of customer care from both the hotel and Agoda. As a customer, I feel my rights were ignored, and no proper resolution was provided. I expect Agoda to take accountability and address this issue properly, as this level of service is completely unacceptable.
Answer: Well, you probably need to call the customer service online or send them email from Agoda to get a reply. I feel that it was in vain to look for any help or compensation once your reservation has been done. Even the you overlooked some tricky information, Agoda will completely ignore what you said and push the blame to the hotel/property or the users. That is how I feel after trying so sort our the issue. Once a mistake is made, we probably can only eat it. Never expect they will admit any misinformation on line.
