We were sold a system and encouraged to sign in short time. Realised it was too expensive and tried to cancel. When finally getting through on the telephone numerous times and being assured that our deposit would be returned nothing happened. How many times do I have to telephone or will I have to take matters further. Don't buy it.
They have the worse service and customer service around! You can not even get a supervisor on the phone! DO NOT PURCHASE THIS! Now I can't even sign on to my account to send a receipt!
SIXTY MONTHS! Who the heck is going to live in the same place for sixty months?! Only those who are older and settled down or those settling down. And when you kove to somewher with free security you have to pay your remining contract which is still thousands of dollars JUST for a security panel. What a joke. Just buy your own camera system and get something else without a horrible contract.
I purchased a home in 2020 and wanted to put a security system in place, i. E. doorbell, rear deck, window sensors, and module. I had no issues with the young man who sold me the contract nor the technician who installed all the equipment and that's where the 1 star comes into play in every other facet of this company. I've had 4 technicians come to my house due to issues with the doorbell camera and all 4 recommended replacing the unit as the firm no longer sells it. ADT refuses to do so. Their instructions for equipment failures are moot. Their Customer Service is a 30 minute hold with someone who doesn't know the process to correct the issue and then it's round robbin getting passed between departments. I doubt it's your employees, most likely their training and $#*! executives like we see with almost every company nowadays. Bought a ring unit, 4 cameras w/ lights, doorbell, sensors, and module for almost half the ADT contract and had no issue installing it on my own. Save yourself the money and do it yourself with Ring.
I have had ADT Security for quite a few years for my home in which my mom lived in. My mom passed away in March, 2022 and thus, I am selling the house. I call to cancel my service and they proceed to tell me that I will have to pay a $355 cancellation charge. Really? ADT is a heartless, money hungry business and I will never recommend or use them again. By the way, I always paid on time and was a good customer to ADT.
Since the first time the seller person lied to me saying there was NO Contract! And then pummm! He made a 2 year contract only because I trust him instead Of reading the small letters in the signing sheet. They tell you one thing right in front of you and it turns out to be another when you sign. Also They kept charging me even Though I had already canceled 3 months ago and no matter how much you call to get a refund they lie to you saying a refund is in process. Worse company ever! I don't recommend any business with them.
I've had ADT for 4 years. I should have realized when they sent a sales person to my home after calling for service in my new home that it's a sham company. He NEVER told me that I was under a contract for 5 years although they insist I Esigned a contract. After two years the sensors went bad and the alarm kept going off all the time. ADT calls and texts me, that's their monitoring system. What's the point? Where's the security? Then at first they wanted to charge me for service to change the sensor which after refusing they realized wasn't my fault. Fast forward, 4 years in 9 months left on a contract which I didn't know I was a part of I call to cancel. They tell me that I have to pay early cancelation of contract and can't let me put of it. At one point my bank was bought out and my auto-pay was declined and my $45 payment tripled. Double late fees? Meanwhile, I noticed my bill had increased over the four years with no warning. After I call to cancel they tell me they do not remove the system so basically I'm stuck with useless ugly wall art! This company is not worth the money. The service is a joke. Buy yourself a reliably loud alarm system from Amazon which is basically the same and safe yourself installation and monthly fees or even early cancelation fees. ADT is dead. They have conned the public into thinking they are an old reliable security service when all they can be relied upon is to trap you in a shady scam money syphoning contract with less than mediocre service. STEER CLEAR!
ADT IS 4 HOURS LATE FOR AN INSTALLATION. THEY KEEP TELLING ME ANY MINUTE FOR OVER 4 HOURS- RUN RUN- THEY LIE LIKE SCUM
I am a top tier premium package 3 year contract customer. Paying over $3,000 for full contract service with this company. Had to purchase my own Ring Cameras... as they only have ADT doorbell camera. The 1 device they place their name on (the doorbell camera) suddenly stops working. Call for help & they want to charge $60 for a repair person to come out. Of course I ask for a Supervisor to waive this fee. Supervisor Shontel calls back & instead of compassion she immediately berates me on my "tone" due to my frustration. Shontel ACTUALLY said the words "I don't even know what this is about, i am just now looking at it"
Shontel, then how about you take 30 seconds and REVEIW the account prior to calling and making your customers repeat ALL the information that is in front of you.
The cost is too high & is felt even more when you have uncaring supervisors.
STAY AWAY from ADT.
It's endless! Every time I turn around, my cameras aren't working! I have to unplug my modem and all of my extenders and try to fix the problem! Sometimes it works, others no so much! Then if I have to call for help, I'm on the phone forever! I had to make an appointment to have a tech come out and the appointment was three weeks out! So in the meantime, I have no cameras! Also called today and they set up a virtual appointment and it is now 30 Minutes past that! It's just not worth the initial cost to put in and the monthly charge! I'm still infer contract and can't wait to e fine with ADT!
A man shows up in my neighboorhood offering Ring video survelliance tells me they are linked with ADT. Okay fine! 3year contract. Fine okay! Signed 3/20/18. Signed! I moved and was told, I cant cancell cause this was before 3yr contract but i can transfer to my new residence. I said fine lets transfer. I was not told that transferring services will start everything all over!. The ring equipment and ADT app has never worked and has delays! I will never go with this company again! If you as a consumer wants to consistently be locked into contracts with Shawty equipment go for what you know! But I have seen NO VALUE IN ADT
One word SUCKS! ADT cannot fix any issue over the phone and when they schedule a service technician it's at your cost, they show up late! Not prepared! Ridiculous! Idiots! ADT has gotten too big for their panties they do not care about their customers! I believe my dogs are much better security, good day ADT!
I have tried ADT and I wasn't pleased with the service or the gentleman who came and worked on system. When he came back and retrieved the merchandise. He left a whole in my wall and all the stickers on my walls. I really didn't appreciate that. At the time I was pregnant. My husband didn't report him or say anything to him. He really made y'all look bad. Now I keep receiving emails.
I spent from 8:00 am until 4:45 pm and I am still waiting on them to complete my order. I been given the wrong information about adding on equipment, I talked to 8 or my representative about t yesterday trying to get order right. They cancelled order, hung up on me. Made me go into contract I don't believe *******@yahoo.com
I called to cancel service after finding a better company. Little did i know payments were still being drafted from my account. I called adt after noticing this and their records showed that i indeed called but it was to confirm a cancellation. What I didn't know was that they canceled the account for me, but opened another account. No one bothered to tell me this when I originally called. Waiting on whether i will get a refund. ADT is the real crook. Stay away from adt
ADT customer service is horrible. These people will hang the phone up on you all the time. They tell you different stories about your bill every time I call them. They cant be trusted. Get another security system the customer service is not worth the headache. Trust me on this.
When you see them at your door, just send them away... they really suck. New home owners run with every leg you have got. Long term contract that is not worth the services rendered. Lcd screens and very basic cameras. My door camera always sending false alerts. HO purchase your own system and don't listen to their lies. Ridiculous charge to opt out of their contract for these piece of junks.
Some of the worst customer service and sales people I have encountered. Getting help is next to impossible. Called about an issue and to upgrade my service, but could not get anyone to help me and was passed back and forth between departments with zero communication between each department. If customer service and a quality product is important to you I suggest that you save your time and money and look elsewhere for home security.
ADT / PROTECTION ONE ARE THE WOSE GROUP OF CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS I'VE EVER HAD TO DEAL WITH. STUPIDITY WOULD BE A COMPLIMENT TO WHAT YOU'RE ACTUALLY GETTING WITH THEM. I had a 4 to 5 month on going problem trying to get some one to fix the fire alarm part of my my equipment. They have set up two different appointments for me and never show. I have spent at least 10 hours on the phone talking to numerous people over the 4 months and still don't have a working system. I finally cancelled then they threaten me about my contract. They are the worse. I can't wait to see them in court.
Answer: Difficult to reach them and even more difficult to reach someone who can assist accurately. A lot of billing hassles.
Answer: No $60 call out service charge anytime there are any issues including dying batteries.
Answer: Don't go with ADT, the worst company I've ever dealt with.
