The worst security. They continue to bill after I cancelled for months of my control panel becoming inoperable. I was a customer for almost 20 years. Anything is better then ADT! I have attempted to cancel for months and now I've got Amex going after them.
The technician that originally came and installed the system took our outlet out of the wall and it won't go back in after years of trying to resolve this issue ADT has still charged me every month even though they are very aware of the issue and that my system hasn't even been able to be plugged in. I'm constantly getting the run around with this company
I came across Gerald, and he reassured me over and over that I would not be signing a contract. He then sent me a form, stating that it was just simply to check my credit, since I was financing the equipment. After trying to cancel, I was told that I had signed a three-year contract. I can never reach anyone to contact me back, and management has gotten my information to call me back, but no one ever calls back. I see why they have such a low rating. Had I come across these ratings before, I would have never signed up. ADT has always been a big name in the security world, so I had assumed that I was signing up with a good company, which, evidently, so many people are learning the hard way. There needs to be a class action lawsuit against ADT!
This company doesn't deserve a 1 rating. If I can choose 0, I would. After months of back and forth telling them that our cameras didn't work, we finally got a technician came out to repair or replace the cameras. The technician came and told us that we will need to reschedule for another week and half because he didn't have a camera nor a ladder to do the work. They knew that our cameras didn't work. Why the heck didn't they bring a camera to repair or replacement? When I called in to escalate the repair since we had waited for so long, the customer service couldn't find our address on file. Our address is 1234 FM 423 (not a real address). The customer rep asked whether the FM is correct? She never heard of a street name FM. She then proceeded to transfer us to another customer service representative who couldn't help us either. We asked to talk to a supervisor to escalate the repair. Wait on the phone some more time and the supposed supervisor came online. She said that we called the wrong department. This is absolutely ridiculous and then transferred us to another customer representative. We are still on the phone waiting for answer. It had been about an hour. Such a waste of my time. Avoid this company at all cost.
Do not use. They charged us in full upfront for a system that they said that we would only when it was completed. That was 2 months ago and approx 4 failed attempts to install. Installer's didn't have all the equipment and the work they did has failed.

Absolutely horrible experience. After using adt for 25+ years, we have had no issues until now. The management system just keeps passing us around and brushing us off. I have never experienced worse customer service.
When you see them at your door, just send them away... they really suck. New home owners run with every leg you have got. Long term contract that is not worth the services rendered. Lcd screens and very basic cameras. My door camera always sending false alerts. HO purchase your own system and don't listen to their lies. Ridiculous charge to opt out of their contract for these piece of junks.
Every 1 star review on here already says it all. Why don't they have a Google review page? Plain and simple, nobody would ever buy their systems. Deceptive sales practices, exorbitant cancellation fees, the app is terrible and barely works. I pray that this company goes out of business soon. If you need a security system SHOP LOCAL!
The worst customer service of any company I've had any experience with. Of the 2 year contract period it only worked correctly a few months. Called customer service multiple times and after waiting extended periods had to be walked through the same routines. Once a technician actually came out and got it working for a short time. I finally gave up on the system but continued the payments required then spent another almost two hours just to cancel the subscription with an extremely pushy and rude customer service. I'm unhappy enough that I will no longer watch Property Brothers as long as they are associated.
My "technician" finished his install at 10pm.The system hasn't worked right for several months.The customer service line is a joke.Now I'm being charged a huge cancellation fee.Spend a little extra up front& get a local company to do it.
Over priced for modern bad customer service tried to cancel my contract. Several times said I didn't do it in time we automatic renewal every year and get monitoring insurance for half the price now they charge $75 to come out even with full warranty do not do business with ADt
Stay away from this company, equipment is junk, cannot cancel your contract, long waiting on phone for customer service, takes 72 hours to speak with a supervisor and you will be lucky if they even call you back. I could go on and on…
Cancelled my contract on time and still charged me for the following month without any service. Put me in collection just because I refused to pay for a nonsense charge. Worse company for security ever! Don't trust them.
Customer service is horrible. System did not work correctly. Place you in 5 year contracts. The ‘6 month money back guarantee' is a lie by the sale reps. If you switch to an ADT blue to get out of the contract they will send you more fees (again after confirming no fees to change). When asking customer service reps about this, they state ‘sorry our departments don't know each other's rules' beware. Would give 0 stars.
Cameras stopped working in February sent emails and called every week, received no response. My wife spoke with someone and said we are extremely unhappy, also said we want to cancel. The woman said ok then they hit us with a $2500 bill saying we are still in contact. When we asked again about fixing our problems they refused to respond. Stay away from this company, go find a local security business you will receive better and cheaper service!
Every time you call you're on hold forever! You're lucky if you're not disconnected. They charge a ridiculous trip fee, 99.00 even though you're paying for installation! You have to complain to try and get that removed, usually with no luck. The alarm itself is great, especially since they use Google cameras now. On a positive note, the Tech's are awesome! It's the only reason I still use ADT
ADT is a joke and I hope the company goes out of business. They make you conduct all account operations over the phone and getting anything done means jumping through a series of unnecessary hoops. They're fine print contracts mean that if you sign it, you're on the hook for the entire contract no matter how circumstances change. It's simply a bad way to do business and terrible for the consumer. When there are so many options out there like Ring, Simplisafe, and Nest, using a service like ADT is worthless. At least when I move, I can take those products with me and don't have to cancel service.
I moved, was in between homes for 1 month. Talked to rep who stated I would not be charged $300 term fee as long as I start service again within x amount of months. Fast forward two months later… Term fee charged! After speaking with an agent I barely understood, they will partially refund me in 10 days! The 3 year contract they put you in is a jail sentence. As soon as I find another company that will pay my term fee I am done with ADT & their expensive rates and horrible customer service. ADT name is trash now!
We purchased an ADT system two years ago to protect my elderly Mom living in a 1 at floor apartment. She is aging and now needs to live with us we explained this to ADT when we had to cancel our services and they still charged me a 700 dollar contract fee. It's so sad since we were faithful customers and life happens. Don't be fooled by the low cost they get you in the end.
Answer: Difficult to reach them and even more difficult to reach someone who can assist accurately. A lot of billing hassles.
