My contract was about to end with ADT, and I decided to do an upgrade. However, the upgrade was processed (setup) incorrectly, causing me to have 2 accounts. So they deleted one. Unfortunately, the one that was deleted was the "new" account, which triggered an early termination and a fee of almost $800.00. I've spoken to no less than 6 different people. They all seem to acknowledge the problem, but trying to get them to credit back my bank account has been more of a challenge than it should. Again, they've acknowledged the charges as an error on their part. They seem to make it extremely difficult to get reimbursed. I will also be filing a formal complaint with our consumer protection agencies.
I had major problems with ADT. Their control panel kept calling fire and police with no input from anyone in this household. I cancelled with them on 5/30/22, and still they charged me for a service call where the man did nothing after showing up 6 hours late. Then they did not process the cancellation until 6/13/22. So they want me to pay another amount for service in July. I am being held hostage because I have them on auto pay to my credit card. Don't auto pay these folks as you will not be able to get any resolution for their billing errors.
Their window break system is unreliable. It would go off constantly. It was "fixed" so it went off less but still too many times. They are overpriced and only have one contract option which is wrong. Their customer service reps are incompetent and if you upset them they transfer you around. When i told them to send the cops, i don't think they even came. Pretty much a scam. Don't waste your time or money. I cancelled their service, took off easy pay and my credit cards and they illegally charged me for the next month.
One call to confirm payment, & to look into my account to find the invoice that supposedly I still owe. Was met with aggression and just so very rude, to also interrupt rudely. I was forced to hang up with no resolve once again. Who on earth put this person in charge of customer services.
First they try to get you to buy everything. Get only what you need. It is a very good system until you have a problem. My cameras lost connection and one person finally said they would fix free. Tech came and wanted $58 for call and $169 for first half hour. I said no. So I've been paying like $75 for over a year for non working cameras. ADT is a rip off. Laws against ripping off elderly, getting lawyer
I was told they would come and connect cameras after I got a new internet router. When tech got here he wanted $59 plus $169 for half hour. I sent him on is way. Very pour customer service
Our system has been down since September 2022. I have called no help. I finally called again today and was told I'm sending an email to tell you how to fix your cameras then hung up. I tried back several times and no one could help, kept transferring me. It's ridiculous and the fact they are going up on their service. Well tomorrow I will be contacting my bank and will stop their payments going forward. I bet they will want to help then or come get there sorry equipment. Again RUN RUN away from them.
Total scam of a company. Customer service is horrible and they overcharge. Was never told by sales rep about three year contract. Now that I've rented out my home and want to cancel they're charging me hundreds of dollars. Save yourself the trouble and just buy ring cameras. They don't even call to alert you when your system goes off. You can buy the sign on Amazon to deter burglars. Don't support this scam of a company!
I have been a loyal customer for nearly 10 years and the company has progressively gone down the tubes! Customer service is horrific, representatives have no idea what they are doing. You call in with a problem and wait times are 45 min-1 hour. A representative will tell you they are transferring you only to roll you back into a never ending automated system in which you just get lost. Read their responses to ALL the poor reviews. Lots of excuses and no real plan to improve customer service or quality of care. Don't waste your money! I will be cancelling soon!
Faulty equipment, lies upon lies from the start of how much it would cost me, then I was told I was getting new stuff when it's was all used stuff that shocker all broke. Most is still not fixed a year and a half later. 3k for some crap. Run from this crappy company who only wants to steal your money and that's it.

I've been a customer for a number of years had the alarm go off at 3 o'clock in the morning it took more than 2 minutes for someone to call
I needed to suspend my account due to an issue with our phone line and they left me on the phone over an hour That is after being transferred twice. There is no option on the website to cancel your account.
I've honestly never written a bad review for anyone but the hours I have spent on hold with ADT trying get my account straightened out has allowed me the time to do so. Thought we finally got everything straightened out until I got a random debit for $499 for no reason. Literally took an hour and twenty minutes of being on and of hold to resolve. It's the same story for any other issue I've had with them. Don't buy ADT go somewhere else
Don't bother trying to call ADT if you have an issue after setup of the appointment to install. You will sit on hold up to 30 minutes for them to just tell you that you need to call the dealer. Once you get the dealer on the phone, then you get a bunch of fake "I'm Sorry" and "I can see how that is frustrating". They will leave their trash all over your home so you can clean it up after they leave, if they put the door sensors on the wrong doors, oh well for you, they will take it off, but damage the door at the same time, and again oh well for you. I would never recommend ADT to anyone and once this 3 year contract is up I will not renew. No wonder they have you sign on for 3 years, you are stuck. Either pay the fees to cancel or be stuck with crappy work.
I had ADT on my parent's home for 3 years. It was very expensive. Installation was a week -long ordeal that caused problems with telephone service that kept recurring. The ADT technicians seemed to be ill-prepared and tended to pass the buck rather than try to solve the problem.
Despite my parents death ADT was going to charge us several hundred dollars to cancel service. I transferred service. I recently cancelled. Now, I am trying to get tech support to come out and remove the equipment.
Overall, I think ADT is a poor value and customer service is lacking. Find someone else; you can do better.
So my wifi went out and then when it came back on nothing works no assistance in getting it to work and they wanted to charge me almost $200 to send someone out to repair it don't buy adt alarm systems they're a scam
So I called ADT 3 times too cancel my ADT Blue I told them I was in the middle of a big remodel and not able too use it at this time.
I actually have had the thing sitting in an unopened box they sent me a year ago!
My fault for not planning better but they totally would not help me they said if you want to cancel pay us $1100 because you signed a 3 year agreement.
I've been paying these guys 1 year for nothing! I never even took the unit out of the box.

Adt are the most unprofessional dodgy security company going. I have written several complaint emails and sent them to their complaints dept along with numerous calls and they do not reply. I contacted fair trading only to be told that there was nothing they could do because Adt refused to take their calls or answer emails so I feel like I've been failed by both
Absolutely sucks. Had for years, now in 2023 waiting time is 90 minutes, then get disconnected, then told wrong department, get transferred, then yes, disconnected. I have screen shots of the super lengthy times I was on hold. Service down for weeks, no credit, can't get out of contract without paying $900. Go elsewhere. Was a ADT customer for over 20 years. Jumping ship asap.
Their cameras do NOT work. I pay for 24/7 monitoring and recording and I'm lucky if the system records 10% of the activity. They're ineffective if they don't record someone knocking over your mailbox. The settings are all correct and the cameras have already been replaced once. DO NOT BUY. I called 2 months ago to set up a service call and nobody showed up and nobody called. The phone representatives will try to keep you on the phone and not let you cancel without a ridiculous penalty. Trying to escalate it for review is difficult at best.
I signed up for one year, somehow the company has a contract that says five years and I tried to cancel after year one.no go...after year two...they want me to pay 1600. For their equipment which I have been paying monthly for two years. Plus it takes a month to schedule a technician for a problem...and they have never once responded to any kind of alarm! Then they threatened me with this binding contract I supposedly signed...but they never did. FRAUD!
I am currently on the line with ADT customer service just trying to cancel an account. The quality of the phone calls is terrible, everyone sounds like they're in Charlie Brown and I can't understand a word. I have been transferred now 5 times and asked the same questions over and over again because apparently their entire team is too incompetent to handle a simple cancel account request. I will be sure to never use this system again.
Answer: Difficult to reach them and even more difficult to reach someone who can assist accurately. A lot of billing hassles.
