Horrible experience. Arrived at 8pm, offered a "1 time deal" that we had to decide before they left. Did not want to let us discuss our budget privately, finally we convinced them to give us 24 hrs (VERY sketchy sales approach). Scheduled possible install, were promised no charges until AFTER work was done. We canceled the work (expensive, saw reviews about their customer service and hidden fees, etc). We were charged $109 for service even though we never received any products and no technicians ever arrived at our house. The charge was made the day the service had been originally scheduled for. Had to have my bank advocate for me to get rid of the charges. Very uncomfortable now with all the private info they gathered, considering how they used my credit card info. Will never deal with this company again. They want to walk around the inside of my home, install items, and have 24/7 surveillance, yet they can't handle my credit card info properly? No thanks.
I called to cancel service after finding a better company. Little did i know payments were still being drafted from my account. I called adt after noticing this and their records showed that i indeed called but it was to confirm a cancellation. What I didn't know was that they canceled the account for me, but opened another account. No one bothered to tell me this when I originally called. Waiting on whether i will get a refund. ADT is the real crook. Stay away from adt
Don't use this company! Getting ahold of anyone often took up to half an hour and I was constantly transfered between people. The security system istself started malfunctioning after a year and going off when no one had opened the door. Then we moved and asked to cancel and found out that this company hides the fact that their contract is for 36 months when they sell it to you- so they charged us just under $700 to cancel our service and expect us to send back the system. I'm extremly appalled at their underhanded actions and hidden fees.
My Husband and I had been customers for 10 years the last year has been terrible with poor service all the way around. I canceled our service last in June 2022 they proceeded to take funds from my account for 2 months. I called many times to complain and try to resolve our issues to no avail. I even got hung up on by one of their representatives. There is Nothing Top Rated about treating customers Awlful. Glad to be done with them! Do Better ADT
Where do I start? I am beyond frustrated with this company. A alarm went off and the police wouldn't go out because 2 sensors weren't tripped. Since when does the bad guy set off multiple alarms.
Then I call to cancel my service over a hour of wait time and several transfers later not to mention being hung up on twice Im finally told to do it online the next day. Literally the WORSE company and customer service. Don't waste your money, time or health on this company!
If I had only read these reviews before entering into an agreement with ADT, I would have averted dealing with this company. I had an issue during installation that and I originally reached out to my sales person for and he said he was unable to help. Then I reached out to the district manager no less than 4 times before being told to call the main customer service line. So I call them and they told me that someone would have to call me back and within 24-48 hours. This happened FOUR TIMES and still do not have resolution.
When I decided to go with ADT, thought it was trusted name. I new they were more expensive than other companies, but I wanted a name I could trust. Well, this experience has completely shattered that impression.
I 100% cannot recommend ADT
ADT will do anything in the beginning to get you to sign the 3 year contract. But once you do, thats when the good service ends. Look at the reviews on social media, look at all the complaints on *******@adt on Twitter. There are plenty of other companies to look at, I just wish I would have.
After several problems with cameras and power supplies they finally sent out a tech to repair the non viewing issue. The tech repaired the power supply after waiting a long time for the part. However he made no attempt to replace the non working cameras. The system went down again and after spending hours on the phone I'm told that I'm not authorized on the account. I have the password and I set up the account, I'm the only person on the account. Now they want me to prove I own the company. Meanwhile I have to coverage and I have to provide proof of ownership before they will cancel my contract. FU ADT! I'm just cancelling payment thru my credit card company. Bye Bye, never to return
We chose ADT and were told we have "Custom home" services. Ken Hipwell (sales rep) and Brandon (initial installer) were involved with our new install. A new keypad, glass break sensor, and exterior door sensor were missed. Key pad not functioning, and another will not charge. I have waited 5 weeks for a response. Called twice, gave verbal password and have spoken about my account. ADT (Antoinette H.) rep escalated to District Sales Rep (Peter M.). No response. Received a call today from ADT that I need to purchase a new battery for the BRAND NEW keypad (less than 2 months old). Noone from the company is calling. Called back today and ADT rep told me I have wrong verbal passcode and she cant discuss. Last 3 representatives spoke to me! Poor customer service! Would not recommend this company
I purchased ADT and from day 1 started having problems. I called about 2 times during the 6 months period to cancel my contract unfortunately I kept giving them another chance
Boy do I regret that. The alarm went off a few days ago. I was in my room. When I asked my husband what is that whistling sound he said, that's the alarm. I said your kidding. I've had problems with camara settings on the home app. Once all my camaras got disconnected to my wifi and they did not send anyone they made me get on a high latter and fix them all myself. It was horrible especially for a person who has back problems. I could go on and on but the bottom line is I DO NOT RECOMEND ADT AT ALL. You may have more problems then before while paying monthly service bills. Watch out and don't don't get caught up with more problems than you already have. Terrible service.
I called to.cancel my service today after 4years. I assume the agent was upset because she wasn't able to talk me into staying with them, so finally after our conversation she just hung up the phone. Well, this summarizes the entire relationship, Thanks ADT,
I wish I could give 0 stars. They were untruthful from the beginning. Starting with the salesman who locked me in to a 3 year contract without fully explaining what it would entail, to the tech guy who came out to install the absolute bare minimum and then also tried to charge us another $2k. Then a year in the very ugly control panel that they could only install in our living room stopped working. Said it was not connecting to the server... I called to have them fix their own broken tech, and was told they could send out a person to look at it -- and it would cost $65 to start and who knows how much they would need to replace. At the end of the day this company just wants to bleed you dry and does not care at all about your safety. Also when I called in for all these issues I was easily on hold for more than 30 minutes each time -- awfully glad it wasn't an emergency...
They over Charge from my Bank Account, And when I called them only Sorry. Still I m waiting since more then 40 days still they are in pending. Dont do auto payment with them. They charge me almost two year in a month from my account...
I dread calling here, I've only had to call a few times but each time I'm transferred at least 5x between departments. It's extremely frustrating. You're on the phone for a good 30-40 minutes. Mostly on hold. Maybe If you're lucky you finally get a person that helps you but most the time it's so frustrating that you just hang up. I've also been hung up on twice because someone didn't want to help me. I wasn't even being nasty or anything, it was just someone who didn't want to work. Extremely frustrating, don't recommend.
Today a person from ADT visited us. We are new to this area. I didn't open the door. I never open for strangers. So I didn't open. I asked her to call as it's a working hour and I will think about their service. She told me, instead of me calling you, why don't you call me? Then she wrote her number. I asked her to leave it in the door steps. She said ' I won't hurt you'. I felt obligated and finally opened the door and got that piece of paper from her. I could hear her mumbling "You thought I am going to hurt you...J...". Trust me, this is from a company that provides security. Isn't it the first lesson ' don't open for strangers'. That's odd that she couldn't understand a customer's hesitation to open their front door!
We have had ADT for approx. 7 years. About 3 yrs. Ago I called to cancel I was in bad shape I was very sick. They bullied me into renewing. When I got better I realized what they did and called to cancel. They said I renewed and if I cancel I owe the 300 + $ as I truly felt this was wrong I agreed to pay $20. A month for 13 months till it was paid. I could afford to pay it all but I irked me to be treated like that. They sent me into credit and collections. They Suck! And should not be allowed to do this to people!
I have tried for 3 months to cancel their service. When you call to cancel you are placed in the accounts queue forever and ever. They hope that you will hang up. We were told that we were under a 5 year contract and would have to pay a $400 cancellation fee (we never agreed to the contract and they could not provide a copy). Even after we asked for a copy of the contract they could not produce it and we asked for it 3 times in 6 weeks. One agent said it was snail mailed and another said it was emailed but it never came. Finally after being on hold for over 3 hours in 2 days we were given a cancellation date. Bad company to do business with.
If I can help even one person to not use their service it will be a success. They include a 3 year contract that you can not get out of even if you're moving. That was never explained to us. We have to pay 750$ to not use their service absolutely ridiculous. PLEASE BE AWARE! Do not use ADT.
This is the 3rd unit I have had replaced due to issues with it for my 87 year old dad living alone. Last week my dad took a terrible fall over the top of his walker. His attendant myself and a friend all saw it happen. I ran over and pressed the button on the pendant and nothing happened! The lights flashed across it and no voice came on. I pressed it again and then a third time. I pressed it hard and held it all the way down the third time. Finally an operator came on and started taking the information. I am so very disappointed in ADT. After all this is ADT we are talking about here which is the leader in home and health security. It was up until this for me. I am not sure what the issue is with these On the Go units might be. The unit seam slow to connect during the testing each month. Slow anything is not what you need in an emergency situation. Thumbs down ADT.
I recently got a bill from ADT for $2000 for a service that I'm being refunded for. Go figure this? The problem is I won't get The refund for 60 days! All the while the company keeps my money and I'm subject to pay my visa bill. Poor customer service
Answer: Difficult to reach them and even more difficult to reach someone who can assist accurately. A lot of billing hassles.
