ADT gives you the run around. I have tried to cancel multiple times and am given different offers to keep me. When I call back to cancel I'm transferred to multiple departments. I was on hold for 1 hour and 55 minutes as no one could cancel my account- after speaking to multiple people, the customer service rep hung up on me. My account still isn't canceled. ADT is NOT worth the hassle!
I was suppose to get a free upgrade or add-on after a year. I called and come to find out ADT purchase my contract from another contractor that represented ADT and then they told me I had to buy my add-on or upgrade. I got lie to just so they can get a sale. I don't recommend this for anybody just do your own install.
BEWARE! Please choose another company PLEASE! I wish I could give these cons a 0 star. They are really that bad, honestly. I was told I could transfer the contract to the new owner, in the event I sold the home. Well that's not the truth. Today, I mentioned I was selling the home. I was told I owed $1500 on the remainder of contract and $500 on equipment. I don't recall signing a 3 year contract, yet to have me pay for services I am not receiving is robbery. I then asked if I could transfer the services to the new owner since I'm being forced to pay $1500 for services I am not going to be receiving. I was told NO, the transfer can only take place in the case of a dead spouse! So, basically they are wanting the new owners to sign a new 3 year contact. This should be outlawed. I am planning to warn the new owners about ADT and recommend that they use another company. These people are unscrupulous cons. I will NEVER EVER use them again, mark my word.
I could give him zero stars, I would. I was a first time homebuyer. I felt bullied into getting a security system and then got it. I never used it. I try to get out of my contract, but they are not forgiving. They don't care if you never use it, do you still have to pay the amount monthly which is generally $49. I am finally coming up to my to your agreement where I can cancel but you have to cancel within 30 days they won't let you cancel before if you try to cancel before you get a cancellation fee if you don't wanna be locked into a contract, please please do not go with ADT. It has been nothing but a nightmare for me get the ring.
I been with ADT for several years. I was plato leave the company and was sold a lie to stay! They transfer you all over to avoid dealing with the problem. The representatives are and technicians are nice but overall ADT is a scam. They should be ashamed of their relationship with customers. I regret the fact I renewed with them
I have had ADT Security for quite a few years for my home in which my mom lived in. My mom passed away in March, 2022 and thus, I am selling the house. I call to cancel my service and they proceed to tell me that I will have to pay a $355 cancellation charge. Really? ADT is a heartless, money hungry business and I will never recommend or use them again. By the way, I always paid on time and was a good customer to ADT.
Horrible customer service. Equipment did not work or do the job, Despite repeated trips to fix it over a year they couldnt get their equipment to work. We had to change to another company, and now, even though their equipment didnt work, they want $600+ in cancellation fees. Letter to President fedex, no response.
This entire ordeal dealing with ADT has been a nightmare from day one. Started with the rude, disrespectful technician, which prompted me to cancel my subscription within 24 hours. I called the main office and they advised that they noted the file of cancellation request and advised that someone from the "branch office" would have to cancel the subscription. I emailed your *******@ADT.Com address and received an email reply advising me to send a letter by fax or regular US mail to confirm cancellation. I sent the letter by fax. I received an email confirming receipt of the letter. More days go by and still no call from the branch. I sent another email then I received a call from a guy that confirmed the cancellation but advised me I would still have to speak to someone at the branch. To this day I have not heard from the branch. I cancelled during the 3 day right of rescission period. That should have been enough, I have been sent through hell dealing with ADT..
I called to disconnect my service and have it moved to another state. I was told I would get my self-install equipment in the mail, but it never came. Once I was moved and had a few days to settle in, I called and was told they inadvertently forgot to send my equipment. I got the equipment but most of it does not work. I cannot get anything other than online or "virtual" help reinstalling everything, even though the initial install was done exactly as instructed on the ADT+ and Google Home apps. I explained I am older and unable to do this, but apparently you are not allowed to have a tech come to the home if it is "self-install". My first call took over an hour and now I have been on hold for over 30 minutes for another department. I will never recommend this company to anyone. Extremely expensive and the customer is expected to do all the work.
The service is not horrible, the support is. I have just been trying to setup automatic bill pay for weeks. Website didn't work, told me to contact them at their number. I did so, was told it was going to be escalated and they'd get back to me within 24 hours. When 3 days later I hadn't been contacted, I started a chat. Again, this was going to be escalated immediately to a supervisor. 48 hours, they said. 4 weeks, it has been. I am going to give up now, I wish I had chosen someone else for our security needs.
I used ADT Security years ago to try and protect my home. The alarms kept going off for absolutely no reason whatsoever. The police would show up and threaten me with charging me service calls and violations for my alarms going off. The absolute worst company you could ever want to help try and protect your home and your family. Stay far away
I cancelled my account back in July but I'm still getting billed for services not rendered during the last 5 months. They claim I agreed to continue the service. However, I challenged them to replay the recording of my July call and they have not answered but still want me to pay the fees.
They are a scam. They trick you into contracts that you never agree to. Had us "sign for the cameras" they were sending us it ended up being another contract! After we were trying to get out of the contract we already had. They are not to be trusted at all. Don't use ADT
When I sold my house, I had numerous reps call and I told each one to cancel my service as I did not need it anymore past March 18. The second sales person said the first person never canceled it but he would be sure to cancel it. He also sent in the mail a letter asking me to give his card to the new homeowner. Oh how I wish I had kept that letter. Now it's August and I'm being billed for $449. I have sent them letters saying that I don't own the home and I canceled the service in March. I've tried calling customer service, which is ridiculous because you have to stay on hold forever, and I'm still getting a bill. I had no equipment to return as I used the equipment that was in the house when I bought it. I will NEVER use or refer anyone to ADT! My issue is still not resolved!
So, I'm currently 12 months into the ADT Smart Home Security System and i can say its absolutely fantastic. I currently have a monitored system with police response and additionally have my smoke/carbon monoxide detectors monitored as well. The monitoring station has some of the friendliest staff and their quick actions have saved me from 2 break-ins so far! ADT are a credit homes across the UK and probably why they are still the number one choice!...
My 81 Year old mother called in to ADT to cancel the service she has been using for the past 10 years. They would not allow her to cancel and would not allow her to talk to a supervisor. Now I am calling. The first time... after hitting about 10 prompts to get to the cancellation department I was disconnected. I am now calling for a second time and have been on hold for a half hour. So there are so many people calling to cancel at 8:30 on a Wednesday night it requires a 45 minute hold. So since I am going to be on hold I figured I should use this time wisely to write a review about their terrible customer service. My mother doesn't even use the service... she just likes it when it tells her the door is opening. $50.00/month for that? Well as I continue to hold... I guess I will cut and past this review to other websites. I better not get disconnected after holding all this time... and let them try to intimidate me... Cause you got the right one Baby!
So far I have been bounced around to 6 different support agents, waiting at least 15 to 10 minutes each. Their support SUCKS. They really need to get their act together. There should NOT be any termination fee when I moving with my home in Florida using a ADT solution. Paying $157 and adding 30 day penalty is BS!
This company is a nightmare we been with them for like 5 months and we ready had problems with the equipment more the 3 times, the customers service is horrible when you called the disconnect the call and then you have to call back and wait more the 30 min. They also wanted to charge us for a technician to come and fix the system when we bought it with them is because they suppose to give you the service if is there equipment. Like I said this company is horrible and I will give less than one star.
Alarm goes off during the middle of the night. Night after night. ADT doesn't send help for weeks. They tell us to do x and y with the system and it ends up calling the police to our house on a panic alarm. The tech comes and spends hours. Then the tech claims he fixed it. It starts going off again. Tech here again. Again claims it's fixed. It starts going off again at night. Another tech comes and claims he's now fixed it. Goes off again that very night. I have now notified ADT to take their crap out of my house and refund my money. DO NOT USE ADT
Being a small business requires management to take care of setup and administrate the system. We are losing an awful lot of time just pending in loops. The call back system has not been efficient and agents appeared to be exhausted and unfriendly at times. Basic Tier3 inquiries were handled impatiently and kept being unresolved over long periods of time, creating a direct loss of control over our assets. The fact that we are told to be valid customers seems utterly sarcastic in that context and makes you feel even more powerless against the latent ignorance and factual absence of those support teams. It cant be considered an outstanding merit to ensure that electronic equipment is doing what its supposed to do. You really want to make a difference - fix your support and be kind, human and understanding to customers. For now, ADT does not.
Answer: Difficult to reach them and even more difficult to reach someone who can assist accurately. A lot of billing hassles.
