This is the 3rd unit I have had replaced due to issues with it for my 87 year old dad living alone. Last week my dad took a terrible fall over the top of his walker. His attendant myself and a friend all saw it happen. I ran over and pressed the button on the pendant and nothing happened! The lights flashed across it and no voice came on. I pressed it again and then a third time. I pressed it hard and held it all the way down the third time. Finally an operator came on and started taking the information. I am so very disappointed in ADT. After all this is ADT we are talking about here which is the leader in home and health security. It was up until this for me. I am not sure what the issue is with these On the Go units might be. The unit seam slow to connect during the testing each month. Slow anything is not what you need in an emergency situation. Thumbs down ADT.
I recently got a bill from ADT for $2000 for a service that I'm being refunded for. Go figure this? The problem is I won't get The refund for 60 days! All the while the company keeps my money and I'm subject to pay my visa bill. Poor customer service
Every time I call I'm put on hold for long periods of time, i'm transferred then hung up on. It takes days to get assitance by phone with issues. I wish I never chose this company for service. Oh, but if you are a new customer they answer you calls super fast. Such a dissappointment and would never suggest this company. Save your money with a product like blink.
This company is terrible they transfer you like 8 times before they solve your issue you buy the system and try to move you have to buy a new system and they charge you for a technician to come out and do it an if your on a payment plan they charge you for both I'm telling this company would be the worst mistake you ever made in your life.
I purchased a house with an ADT system installed a few months before I bought it. The seller had left town and I was clueless about the system. I called ADT for help and info about the system and they first said a rep would come out but no one showed. Later got a call from a salesman who said ADT would send no one out to look at the system unless I signed a 1-year monitor contract@ $46/month. The salesman said according to ADT records I only had sensors on windows & doors, but he could tell me nothing else about what I had. (it was obvious there were other sensors & cameras in the house.) Pretty useless company, if this was an example of how they treat customers (and potential customers) there is no way I will use ADT!
I called after dealing with I felt was an incompetent operator after my alarm went off and was promised that a supervisor would listen to the call and call me back within 24 to 48 hours…I week later and I received no call back. Today, I called and was left on hold for over 25 minutes, was told they would get a manager in the call. Then disconnected me.
I called back and had to go through why I wanted a callback again, and promised a call within 24 to 48 hours…
I don't feel hopeful that it will happen… but it is said that miracles happen everyday. It feels like dealing with this company may take a miracle.
Be aware of Adt they wanted to have me upgrade my system with 600.00 payment plus my monthly payment then they lied to me about various programs and I don't see how they stay in business they are terrible terrible
I had a system installed in October - alarm and CCTV. Eleven home appointments later, it still is not fully fuctional. Their technical staff do not all know how the system works; and even if you tell them the nature of what is wrong when scheduling an appointment, the technician will show up and not know what the issue is, and as often as not, they don't have what they need to fix it or are not knowledgeable of the issue. Worse, they want to charge for each visit. It sems to me that you should not have to pay extra when they failed to install something correctly. Customer service is more of a theory with company. Trying to escalate complaints to someone higher in the chain does not work either.
After being a loyal customer for 5 years and 8 months, I called to request two home alarm key fobs. I initially spoke to the first rep on 9/11/2023 and she assured me that my key fobs would be mailed out and within a week I should receive them but never received the key fobs. I called back to follow up and was told that the initial customer service rep never followed through. After talking to a total of three additional reps 10 days later the last being the supervisor (who assured me that she would call me because a bad phone connection on her part but never did) and for a total of 1 hour and 16 minutes my concern and request of ADT incurring the cost to now expedite the two key fobs was never resolved. I was willing to pay for the two alarm key fobs. I was shocked to see that ADT had such terrible reviews but now totally understand why. I'm dropping ADT and now going with another provider.
I tried to cancel my service for four months. Several phone calls and chats. Never cancelled my service and charged me for the four months after I cancelled several times. I was on the phone for nearly two hours the last time I called trying to cancel my service. I was a great customer for over 5 years and was always on auto pay. Do not do business with them.
What is the purpose of having insurance with ADT? I called about a battery needed for my sensor and was charged $59.00 for an onsite assessment. I wasn't able to remove the sensor cover myself and rather than break it I called the company. This is ridiculous to have to pay this charge, since I've been with ADT I've NEVER had an out of pocket expense, again what good is it having insurance?
I would also like to state that the tech that came to my house wasn't friendly in fact a bit rude. He acted like he lived at my house and that he knew where to go once he arrived. When asking him a question about the sensor in the basement he had an attitude, very unprofessional! Out of all the times ADT has come to my residence this by far has been the worst! ADT's service isn't what it use to be!
Back in March 2023, I called ADT to cancel service. I was told I would have to pay off my contract. After a considerably lengthy conversation, I was offered a $9.99 monthly contract if I stayed with them for another year. I accepted. The new payment was never applied. I called today, July 2023 to cancel. After 2 hours of of the same conversation over and over, I am told the rep. I spoke to in March would have to be the one to handle it. This is ridiculous! I asked what if he no longer worked there….the rep. Kept repeating that he is the one that has to do it. The run around I am getting is annoying me to the point that I have no patience for the next rep that calls me back again. Come on ADT….it is 2023….stop with the run around…UNACCEPTABLE
Two agents were supposed to call me back today to go over the set up and to help me set it up never did and now I'm told that set me up with a virtual person but they can't set the appointment up till the 21st of July I've never experienced anything like this I'm being charged but the system isn't working...any suggestions?
We have had ADT for a little over 2 years. Cameras and security sensors. Not long after the cameras were installed…. PROBLEMS. The tech guy didn't hook up the power. The sensor on our back sliding door continues to FALL OFF! We have called numerous times to get this issue resolved. No luck. My husband called today and was told we would have to pay to replace the sensor. He asked to speak with someone else and was on hold for over an hour without an answer. We also pay for a protection plan and they say the protection plan doesn't cover it. We had VIVINT before and they were AMAZING! Just say no to ADT!
This company has a horrible customer service and has nothing but lied to me from day 1. I will continue to discourage everyone from coming here. I have been charged things that I have never agreed to.
For 6 months ADT has continued to bill for an account I do not have with them. They admit their error but they refuse to stop billing me for service at an address where I do not live and do not own. And they will not stop taking money out of my bank account.
Terrible customer service. Had two appointments with four hour windows. 1st time guy doesn't show up. 2nd time they show up late. Called customer service to complain and they couldn't care less. All they wanted to do was schedule another four hour window then tell me it's not a guarantee. Why bother telling people a time window then. Might as well tell you just wait all day and maybe someone might show up. Switching my business account ASAP and the home account as soon as the contract runs out. Done with incompetence. Never again.
This company worse service it's all about money I transfer my adt service to my sister when transfer my business they charge service fee again which is really don't stuck on adt contract when you try to cancel service they charge too much money better buy ring security
After 17 years of being a loyal client, my service was interrupted and when I tried to have it fixed I was told I had to upgrade. My system was 5 years old and cost a lot to have it professionally installed. After many many calls I was advised that to close the account I had to put in writing. A month later they wanted my payment for the service that was cancelled and not working. Customer services said they never received cancellation, but did see a zero amount for my service account indicating I cancelled. I switched to Simply Safe and the monthly fee is 1/3.
After four phone calls that didn't resolve our issue, we requested a technician appointment. In spite of being under a maintenance contract, we were told that we would have to pay $53 for the technician visit in order to get their unreliable equipment working properly. We thought Xfinity, our previous provider, was bad. This takes the cake to be charged for fixing ADT provided equipment that doesn't work. NEVER ADT AGAIN.
Answer: Difficult to reach them and even more difficult to reach someone who can assist accurately. A lot of billing hassles.
