I am currently on the line with ADT customer service just trying to cancel an account. The quality of the phone calls is terrible, everyone sounds like they're in Charlie Brown and I can't understand a word. I have been transferred now 5 times and asked the same questions over and over again because apparently their entire team is too incompetent to handle a simple cancel account request. I will be sure to never use this system again.

I tried to cancel my service for four months. Several phone calls and chats. Never cancelled my service and charged me for the four months after I cancelled several times. I was on the phone for nearly two hours the last time I called trying to cancel my service. I was a great customer for over 5 years and was always on auto pay. Do not do business with them.

Im that's type of guy that doesn't like to leave reviews I just don't give them or come back again however this time I must say ADT is the worse don't get this company they over charge you when you call they just give you the round up they transfer you from one person to an other one and on top I pay to get out of my 2 year contract and they told me one price and now they are sending me an email that I have to pay more just don't go with this company they are TRASH

I obtained an alarm with 2 cameras. Someone is constantly coming to my property. I called. Was told I would receive a call from supervisor. Never did. I called another day because the cameras didn't detect anything, as it is not relatable. Called again, was told they could service my camera for a fee, but was obligated to pay the contract. Never again! They were so comfortable telling me what I was going to do and my obligations; No real options from them. Save your money and time. Do not contract with them.

We decided to go with a adt security contingent on the answers we recieved from the salesmen. Later down the road we were having several issues with the cameras, etc. We then notified adt that we were moving and were told the system stays with the house and we would have to buy out of the remaining term of the contract for $1,000. This place is crooked and they hired liars. I WILL NEVER do business with the again and the cameras only caught activity half the time.

Dishonest company

I signed up for ADT and it has been a nightmare cancelling. Their rate has doubled in three years. Last I checked, inflation was not 100%. They will only lock a rate with a contract and have told me they can negotiate it, but everytime I call the people that answer will not transfer me to the correct department. Meanwhile, they keep notifying me about the alarm system despite confirming its cancelled. They take a payment after cancelling and when I called they said they will refund it, but then credit it aganist the 'balance due' that they won't let you discuss. The unauthorized payment they took after cancelling already processed, and yet they send a bill saying its 30 days past due. I have asked repeatedly for a manager to call, have been told they will call in an hour three times, or at a specific time, because its apparently my job to talk to the department that handles it, not billing or customer services job. And each time they did not call. Their service is bad, their practices are worse. They lie, cheat, and steal.

Cameras suck

Cameras never work. Can't get a hold of anyone on supervisor level for installation expert breaking thru my garage ceiling. About to get into a lawsuit if nothing is resolved.

They sell components. Your security "expert"? He's a salesman. ONLY a salesman. They don't make money following up on your concerns or problems with the system. Just say no to ADT.

ADT gives you the run around. I have tried to cancel multiple times and am given different offers to keep me. When I call back to cancel I'm transferred to multiple departments. I was on hold for 1 hour and 55 minutes as no one could cancel my account- after speaking to multiple people, the customer service rep hung up on me. My account still isn't canceled. ADT is NOT worth the hassle!

If I could give this a 0 I would! We were overpaying for years! We were lied to first of all! The customer service employee argued with my husband shouted at him. He even accused him of not knowing how to pronounce names correctly! Very unprofessional! Will never recommend this company to anyone!

Whatever you do; stay away from ADT! Signing up is easy, quick and friendly but as soon as you place your order you're disregarded. I spent a month everyday calling trying to talk to an account specialist who is said to be the only person who can help. The sales guy Elvis came to my house to give an estimate for the equipment. I clearly stated I only needed camera's nothing else. He proceeded to put smoke detector on the list of items. Ive called several times for a return and refund of the smoke detectors but the customer service guy keeps putting it in as a replacement so they sent me another one. Again daily I call at different times of the day hoping a certain time would make a difference but it doesn't they place you on hold which is their game. Put you on hold for hours, never help you so that you will change your mind on trying to get a refund or cancel your account. They make it difficult for you to make a payment or getting access to the right apps so you're at risk of having a late payment meaning you owe them late fees. After a month the first person to answer customer service said she was an account manager, took my information then when I said I wanted to cancel my account because I'm not happy with the service I've been having; she tells me that she has to transfer me to a different type of account manager for my exact product. More games More B***S***. At this point I'm putting together paperwork with my lawyers to sue the company.

I've been a customer for more than 15 years. Never late on a payment. Recently one of their wires shorted out. I had a Tech come out and fix it. After 20 minutes of his time and I'm sure less than a dollar worth of wiring, I was charged $169. Ridiculous! I guess they feel like they got you by the shorts so too bad for you.

Cancel service

It is very difficult to cancel service even with a confirmation # provided by ADT
They will continue to bill your credit card after the 30 day notice and continue to give you lip service as to why it hasn't been cancelled
So please be aware before you sign a contract and see if they can bill you monthly instead of charging your credit card

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!
1) you will wait to speak to someone -sometimes hours
2) read the fine print! If you want to cancel, they charge you over $900 for a cancellation fee and over $1000 for the used equipment, even if it is not working properly! And even if you tell them you dont want it and to come get it.
3) if they take monthly payment from your bank account and you try to stop them from taking it through your bank, they can go in using a different code key and take it anyway!
4) one time when my alarm was going off, I waited 30 minutes on hold while my alarm blared in the background
5) once you cancel and they charge you over $1000 for the used equipment, and they tell you the equipment is yours, they lock you out of your own panel so that no other alarm company can come in and use the equipment you just paid them $1000+ for

Probably the worst customer service in all my 40 years of dealing with consumer products. The products received are low-par and a waste of money. Tried to return and that was an equal nightmare. This all being said, imagine the fail of securing my home and family. Stay away far away

I do not recommend them! They are trash! I've been trying for 3 days to cancel my service after not being a satisfied customer, the so called department I need to speak with will not return my phone calls… Do not use them. It's a scam. This is my first time leaving a bad review on anything in my adult life… Trust me!

As a 10+ year customer of ADT at $75 a month I expected better customer service. For the third time in less than a year my keypad quit working. Price to replace it? $788! Having only had one incident during my 10 year history with ADT when my housekeeper inadvertently left a door ajar, I decided that the investment of $788 was not worth it. It took more than a hour to convince their representative (having been shuffled from one to another to another) to disconnect my service. I had to listen to repeated sales pitches from each representative even though I repeatedly said I wasn't interested, wasting both my time and theirs. They are fine if nothing goes wrong. But if you have a problem they won't hesitate to screw you for $788. I do not/not recommend them when there are other much less expensive secure services available.

Just horrible!

This company is so horrible I'm so glad I canceled the same day my service was installed! Now I have to call them everyday to get my refund. They keep lying my refund was processed, 1 month later no refund. Do not get ADT! They will scam you out of thousands of dollars

We have been with ADT for almost 2 years, three months shy of our contract being up we did a relocation and it has been a disaster a complete nightmare. I've been on the phone with 15 different people over six hours on hold and on the phone with people and nobody knows how to do their job they ended up disconnecting both homes charging me $360, and now I have to start all over again with a service tech person coming out again, they were just out here two weeks ago to do my new home to install everything which they didn't have to install anything they just need to change codes from the past owners! Now to reactivate my account, they have to come back out some more time off work, and more time that I'm wasting on them! Definitely would seek other companies to do your service
