My telikin computer is difficult to use so I have waisted $ buying it and am told i have to pay $248 to get out of them helping themselves to 21 a month every month Telikin sr computer aka Venture 3 system llc should for me it is VULTURE praying on seniors
I called at least five times trying to get details on the benefits from aarp.org. They sent me a flyer listing the benefits of membership that sparked the original questions. The only thing the original phone cue people could do was welcoming with a script but as soon as I switched over to my questions they were uninformed. Both times they tried to transfer me to some higher level the call was disconnected on their end. Their claims seem to be many but they're delivery on their claim seems to be very watered down. I don't see the benefit of joining such an organization.
Seniors...beware. This company is taking advantage of us. Annual fee is $120 + 27 cents per mile + the Lyft or Uber fee. Get a friend or family member to order thru their App for you.
I am highly offended by us seniors being taken advantage of.
This organization claims to fight for seniors but it's just the opposite. They are against legislation to have minimum requirements for staffing while corporation owing nursing homes are having records profits. This organization has always been corrupt
Does not help retirees but does serve as a schill for insurance companies. Current focus of ads (2024) is "findind a job". AARP is tone deaf. Not worth subscribing to at all. Generates more spam mail and email than virtually any other organization.
They hound you all year long for more more money! If you think you just pay $16 a year and you're done…. Wrong. All year long you get mail requests for more money and unkind reminders that you haven't paid yet!
I'm 59 and I have no respect for AARP whatsoever after it took a chat session and two phone numbers and 45 minutes on the phone to remove my dead mom's name off their mailing list - maybe - I don't even know if the foreign guy even understood.
Why is it that complex to remove your dead mother's name from a list when I had all the information?
I was trying to be nice so that they're not wasting postage because it all gets shredded without being looked at.
I want nothing to do with AARP - EVER!
When I turned 50, I joined AARP. They said I would get a gift for joining. I soon discovered A. The discounts don't kick in until you are 55. B. They promote only Democrat candidates and causes. And C. They lied about the "free gift". I called to inquire about the bag and was told they had a limited supply. They still promise a free gift for joining. If they'll lie about the gift to get you to join, they'll lie about anything. I joined AMAC. I get the same benefits without the agenda and B.S.
I tried several times on several occasions and couldn't sign in. I called for aarp help, but unfortunately they were unable to help. After becoming frustrated I ended the call. I called again and the support help appeared to get testy and told me that they would hang up. To me that is unacceptable, I ended the call by canceling my subscription. All that I wanted was some help, didn't get it.
AARP told me they could save me 500 if I switched to them. My insurance for year $1700. AARP rate was $5700 for six months. AARP are criminals stealing people's money. I hope their customer shop around and see how badly AARP is raping them! GFYS AARP
3 times they have said l would be getting a free gift for renewing and 3 times l have seen not one free gift, 3 times they have said that they would send out the free gift over the phone and still no free gift, from the travel kit to the luggage set, l would have given them ZERO stars but the minimum is one star...
Let's not forget that AARP helped push Obamacare through legislation. Prior to ObamaCare I paid $399.00 for health care for myself. After ObaamaCare became law, I had to pay $1,300.00 for just myself. Since I can't afford that, I have no healthcare. Thanks AARP, you suck!
AARP is a total rip-off, no tangible benefit and nothing but trouble for your membership. I joined primarily out of curiosity; the annual fee is cheap enough: but what I got was:
1. A worthless magazine full of rip-off advertisements
2. Put on endless mailing lists for all sorts of things I don't want: medical devices, mortgage loans, insurance, overpriced travel, etc. I receive AARP junk mail literally every day now!
3. Worthless discounts on a variety of products and services; a simple internet search reveals better deals in many other vendors.
Overall a useless program designed to rip-off it's members in every way, they even auto-renew your membership without asking then refuse to reimburse you when cancelled!
I can't block the emails either i get tons of email from their caregiver sweepstakes because they blocked my profile and email for no reason aarp is a horrible company and has very lousy customer service I would not recommend them to anyone.
I joined in 2018. I did not find any value to the membership. Constant spam mail to buy their life insurance. The discounts they promise are Senior Citizen discounts, not AARP discounts. So I didn't re-join. THAT'S when the real fun started. I received dozens upon dozens of pieces of spam mail both real and electronic. At least ten were labeled or prefaced by "... last chance to re-join!" They finally stopped and now I'm getting a renewed campaign to join up. I sure would love to get off their mailing list, do you think this will do it? Lol
Consistently the member services are terribly staffed. Very nice people, but with no information or authority whatsoever. They have never once been able to resolve a problem with membership issues, web tech issues, payments for "special services" that were never delivered.
They gave me a free year's membership to make up for one of the latest wastes of time. After 12 calls, emails, web and chat room inquiries, not one issue answered or resolved about a "brain health" test they charged extra fees for. I took it, the website acknowledged it, but results were never available.
This is the one company that Locksmiths will tell you is the most difficult to work with. They never refunded my $125. I had to file 3 claims for a tow truck, before they finally provided the right size for me, when I gave specific instructions on what I needed. Also, who knows why they have American in their name, because anybody that you speak to will be Middle Eastern and you'll have a pleasant tango of both of you figuring out what the other is saying. Don't waste your money, like I did.
I signed up for the AARP Driver Review course to receive an insurance discount. I immediately started the 6 hour program. I had several problems with the program not advancing and having to restart a particular module. The biggest problem came after I logged out and returned 45 minutes later to continue. To my amazement, it didn't save any of my 3 hours of work even though it said you can stop at any time and pick back up where you left off. I tried calling but they were closed. I sent an e-mail and I received an automated response that they are backed up beyond the usual 72 hour response time! I can't believe this organization. I will never consider them for any of their products or services. They had no problem taking my money and now that I have a problem their customer service is terrible.
The consumer cellular has been ripping me off every month and finally I left them. I am 55 years old and I am so disgusted with Consumer cellular and their phony charges. I curse the day I saw this company recommended by AARP. I also cancelled with them as well. It seems they are all set up to take advantage of senior citizens. Thank God for Tmobile and their 55 year or older plan. They charge me and my husband total of $70 flat without any more fees for unlimited everything and include international and roaming.
Car insurance and health insurance cheaper if you dont go through aarp. It is clear by pricing that aarp gets a commission or kickback from these insurance companies. Discounts on vacations movies cars etc. can be found on other free sites that are better deals than aarp. If discounts on insurance and consumer products are better elsewhere then why belong to aarp. On top of commissions and kickbacks they have nerve to ask for donations. Plus I dont agree with half their lobbying efforts in congress. Their organization used to be of benefit to senior citizens. Now they are fraudulent organization protected by congressmen they give "donations" to.
Answer: I did not know AARP endorsed Suze Orman! That's disgusting! That woman ripped off so many others she needs to be barred from using the AARP website! PERMANENTLY! It's shameful that a woman would takeONE red penny from AARP or any other person in the world. She cheated people out of millions! For shame, Orman!

Answer: You do absolutely nothing to help seniors. You insurance is high you membership had in traded. You don't ADVOCATE FOR Seniors. I don't understand why anyone would support you! All you want is money! Please advise to what you have done for senior citizens. I don't want a free coffee And expensive insurance!
Answer: AARP is just not worth it to me. All the services and insurances they offer, are not a good deal. So they aren't doing me or my husband any favors.
Answer: Yes. The membership is together one account, The spouse and the primary get the same year/years.
Answer: Leonard, Keep It Simple by calling or emailing AARP with your question
Answer: I wouldn't signup with AARP for love nor money... and money is what it will cost you and you will get nothing, zippo, zero from them but a "run around" and junk mail. They are worthless.
AARP has a rating of 1.4 stars from 231 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with AARP most frequently mention customer service, car insurance and junk mail. AARP ranks 14th among Retirement sites.
