Pretty darned good for a free therapy site. I have only 1 listener try to funnel me to get paid counselling services through the site. There was this one listener who was very belittling to me about procrastination on my Master's studies homework. There was this other listener that just started the chat with the word "explain." But aside from that, the vast majority of listeners are kind and friendly. I would give this site a 4 out of 5 stars. AS far as those other bad listeners goes, we can always report them. What you sow, you reap.
7 cups is an amazing site where people can find emotional support no matter what time so 24/7. Many people on this world do not have access to emotional support for different reasons, one of them is that their finances do not allow them to get therapy. This site is mainly free, only therapists will charge a minimum fee, chatting with a trained listener is at no cost, also the various activities offered. The site simply helps those who want get helped and improve their life.
7 Cups is an amazing website that is dedicated to helping people overcome their struggles. Having a broad range of categories including in mental health and disabilities, people have the ability to talk about their struggles with listeners who help relieve their stress and worries all through a 1-on-1 or group chat! It's amazing how simple yet powerful the concept of this website is/. I definitely recommend you to sign up as a member and chat with listeners or become a listener like me. It truly is a wonderful experience to support people who are struggling and make their lives fill with value just from a chat conversation.
I love this site! The people here are really caring and understanding, and try their hardest to keep it a safe environment. I've had very few issues with members and even less with listeners, I've already recommended 7 cups to all of my friends!
7 cups is an amazing website designed to provide and receive support. Individuals volunteer their time to help others, it is truly incredible! Don't suffer with mental health alone, reach out to one of the thousands of listeners on 7 cups! I promise you will not regret joining the site. Their is a community for everyone-a place where you feel heard, accepted, loved and supported.
I've been working as a listener in this community for over 5 years. The people we have talked to and tried to help in some or the other way makes me proud and so satisfied. Many people need a ear, most of the times we cannot share our feelings with someone we know. Sometimes we are ashamed or extremely nervous about our loved ones reaction to some situation. Being able to discuss our feelings with someone who will not judge us really does open our minds about how to tackle the situation more carefully whilst respecting our loved ones feelings.
Other than being able to lend an ear to someone in their troubles. People have often come back to us telling how happy they felt about their situation after their conversation. We may not professionally trained, but we have a loving community of helpful people who come here and try to bring a smile on someone's face or just relief them just by simply listening to them.
I hope everyone has a great time on our site!
All love
I became a quality mentor on the site. After witnessing an excess of chats that were beyond abusive and bringing them to the attention of admin only to find indifference, I must warn others to stay away. The paid staff doesn't do any actual work on the site nor do they care for quality. They ride on the backs of free volunteers who are never properly trained nor monitored.
If you want to tell someone about your problem and walk away feeling x10 worse, this is the right place for you.
7 cups is a really good place for getting support. However, there are some parts that needs work. For example, there are some listeners who are rude, give terrible advice when giving advice is forbidden in the first place, some listeners judge people and say rude stuffs to the members, overall they are just not good at what they're doing. I think the listeners need to have more supervision so that they don't make someone feel worse than how bad he was already feeling.
I've been a listener and a member for 5 months now, and I am continually impressed with this community. Yes, there have been a few off-putting instances, but that's what you get on a site that is completely free. No one else offers this revolutionary stuff. I would definitely recommend it.
This is only my first day as a listener, but so far the more experienced listeners have been really supportive and friendly. The members say that most listeners are super kind and encouraging, which is nice to hear.
7cups has been very beneficial for me. The Professional Therapy is top class, you can choose your own Psychologist to meet with, and you can also chat for free with Trained Listeners. The website offers support for different kind of person and their conditions, conversations become meaningful and can help us realize things, or at least feel heard and supported.
Hello all,
I have been using 7 cups since 2015 and it has changed the way I feel about myself. There are so many ways to get help on 7 cups. During active listening, one may chat online live with people all over the world. There are ways to keep track of your progress which builds self-esteem. One can use 7 cups to make a whole life change and have the fruit of those changes documented along the way. One may take things as fast or as slow as they wish.
7Cups is truly awesome. While you can pay to talk to a therapist, there are also 'Listeners' available which helps me to not feel alone in what I'm going through. There are also several different forums as well as group chats, among other features to help on the growth journey (including an AI to chat with for help as well as activities to help encourage growth). I would highly recommend 7 Cups, whether through using the app or the website!
This is an amazing project. Sometimes we don't have anyone to listen to us and having a person, even if a stranger, willing to listen without being judgmental is refreshing. It's not therapy, but it takes a weight off our shoulders by just venting to a sympathetic and anonymous listener. They also offer small courses to listeners so they can improve their abilities. Sometimes, however, we find not so great listeners and it can be frustrating. I think they should adjust this, but overall it's a great way of sharing and making sense of our feelings and thoughts. It has helped me during ugly times and I'm very grateful for the wonderful listeners I've found.
Personally I've been a listener for over 2 years, and started as a member. I would recommend it if you need to talk about something when you have no one around… However, if you become a listener, do know you might encounter trolls or people who want sexual conversations… overall it's a good place to start to heal or to express yourself, but do know (just like any site on the internet) there is a chance you'll encounter weird people and conversations.
I loved this site soo much it was my first time using it its super easy i was feeling anxious and stressed out bcs of school then i talked to this amazing person who helped me a lot ive never felt happier
I found 7 cups a Godsend at a time when I was struggling. The written format is non intrusive, allowed me the chance to share at my pace and comfort. The best part about Therapy through messaging is that you can go back and read through conversations, this offers more opportunity for insight.
Since I've started using this app, my life has completely changed. I've been able to make a lot of friends, learn new listening skills. It is also a fantastic platform to express yourself, no one is judgemental and the service is available 24/7. Thanks for all those people helping, great job. It is a highly recommended app.
Thanks... Have a nice day
Great support and loving people. 7 cups really helps me with my problems, I log on whenever I'm feeling down and talk to someone. These people are so supportive and caring, it's wonderful. I believe that I've gotten better since I joined, there are so many fun things to participate in as well to get your mind of things.
I cannot recommend this site more. You have 24/7 access to people who have been trained to listen and help guide you through whatever you're experiencing with utmost care and compassion. Not to mention the therapists that you can search for based on your specific needs. Affordable for those who may not be insured or have a fixed budget.
Answer: It's a legit company! Definitely not a scam :) In my experience, I've been on as both a listener and member, it's not a scam. We're trained & take courses (as listeners) to best support members. Each listener is different, as is each member, so there may be bad experiences with one listener or vice versa. We have therapists we can ask for advice or refer people to as well.
Answer: I would suggest that any person seeking true authentic assistance NOT visit this site. It is unsafe, damaging and narcissistic and does NOT offer true help or support in any way
Answer: I would imagine that there are many other sites that are BETTER than 7cups
Answer: To send one-on-one messages, you should be able to just click on the text box and type in it. I find it's harder to use on mobile browser so if you're doing that, maybe try switching to desktop. Otherwise, I would just wait a minute or reload the page, it lags sometimes
Answer: You sure can! This is actually a very helpful feature on 7cups
