A great site for people who are seeking emotional support from someone who is willing to take the time to listen. However, there are some listeners and members who say inappropriate things whom i call the internet trolls. I guess it shows how open and inclusive this website really is.
The training modules that listeners are required to complete is informative and seems professional.
Overall, great experience as a listener and has helped me become a more compassionate person. I would really like to see this website grow and become better by monitoring volunteer listeners and providing required training modules on a regular basis to maintain standards.
Only desperation made me look for help online. I reluctantly opened up to a "listener" whose kindness, perception and strength of encouragement gave me strength. I could hardly believe how much I needed it all and what a relief it was to hear, and to have someone hear me. Thank you, thank you. I hope someone who hears the relief in this little review will try 7 cups too.
Most people on here are from India and have very limited English speaking ability and even less compassion. Be sure to match with someone from your country or it will be an utter waste of your time.
I'm really grateful for this website. I often feel down and am currently not in the best mental state. However, I don't have the most supportive parents to talk to, so whenever I'm upset, or need desperate help, I go onto this website and am able to feel welcome with people I don't even know. This website has so many features, and it's a great place to go onto when I need someone.
Blessing in disguise! Anyone can now talk about how they feel with no judgment and knowing that there is someone to listen to them and that everyone here has issues in their life and it's normal! So much positivity the website brings is wonderful! Should take a look even if you just want a friend to talk to!
7 cups of tea is one of the best place to give and get help. I've been using the 7 cups apps since fee months and found out that through this platform one can get to learn a lot of helpful things. And I encourage people to share it as it would be of much help for people who need listening ears.
I've been a member and listener for about three years now. Initially, I discovered it when I was in need of help and found the community and listeners on it were unlike any other listening or help site I've been on. I'm predominantly a listener and have found the work I've done with people so rewarding and have helped me to understand others more and honestly made me into a better person. As a member, it's a safe haven, a place you can unload all your problems free of judgement and often a place to go when you feel you don't have anyone else to talk to. I've connected with others here that have taught me a lot about myself and I'm so glad 7cups is a part of my life. There are obviously some trolls and inappropriate members or listeners but luckily the block button exists and 7cups community guidelines make sure the rules are adhered to. The best thing about it is that it is free! No waiting lists or fees. I would 100% recommend.
You can find someone to talk to at any time for free.
I have had lots of amazing experience here during working as a listener.
You can also feel huge fulfilment here or release your stress.
Don't hesitate, get in touch with someone to help and support you.
I learned about 7 Cups on Tumblr. I had no one to talk to so I checked out the website. Within 5 minutes a caring person was chatting with me. That listener gave me what I needed in that moment of crisis. 7 Cups is there for you when no one else is.
And for free! The amount you can learn about active listening, mental health and leadership here is truly amazing! I'm really enjoying the Leadership Development Program! Thanks or offering so many cool opportunities for personal growth!
Honestly, 7 cups is a wonderful place to come and relax and feel welcome. The listeners go through a thorough training process and they are compassionate, caring, and ALWAYS willing to listen.
There is an old saying that goes, "A stranger is only a friend that you haven't met yet." And that's how it feels to be a part of the 7 cups family! No issue is taboo and each person is treated with the respect that they deserve regardless of age, color, or orientation. C'mon. Join the 7 cups family.
They stole my everything. They took what was left of my sanity, my dignity, even my appetite. If you suffer five minutes on this website, you become more sympathetic to why mass shootings are a common occurrence in the US.
This platform offers free mental health support, and it's the best I've come across till date. They are making it possible for everyone to get the support they need at no cost and everything is run by volunteers. Love it!
I have been on 7 cups for several years, and have used almost all of the site at different times. The Listeners offer a real time personal approach- without "advice", no one really wants that anyway. The buddy system and weekly check-ins have been the most helpful for me, but i like the calming meditations too. Something for everybody.
Not every person on the site is for everyone but everyone can find one or more persons who are for him or her. There is so much to offer here and it has helped me through many difficult days. Just check it out and judge for yourself.
I Love 7 Cups because, in my life it has been tough, from childhood and into my adult years, I have a lot of experience in a lot of different areas. My thinking is, If i can help brighten one other persons day then it makes getting up the next morning worth it. Thank you 7 Cups for allowing people to vent their troubles and allowing me to listen to them.
I've had a great experience on 7 cups - everyone I've been in contact with has always been 100% positive and supportive, and it feels like a community. I volunteer as a listener on the site, and can say that the training is both adequate and allows you to be able to support someone through different situations.
I have found 7 cups a couple of months ago while I was facing the new situation with the pandemic and the lock down. This app helped me connect with trained listeners that, although were not able to offer advice, were willing to listen to my problems.
I am currently a trained listener and I believe that this app is amazing. Would definitely recommend it to anyone that wants to find someone to talk to or help others handle their situation.
The site is perfect if you wish to get a quick advice or a small talks; works well in the short-term. In the long-term it can be emotionally-draining.
Additionally, the concept behind 7 cups is noble, but somewhat poorly executed.
It just requires few modifications here and there to enhance the user's experience.
This community cares about its people and really invests in you. I was really impressed with all the ways you can help others, be it through listening or through projects. I recently became a Verified Listener which opened up my opportunities to become a leader in the community. I am going to start with Peer Support and go from there. So excited! Thank you 7 Cups for giving me the chance to build my confidence and become a better person to others. (I attached a video from their YT so you could get a better idea of just how personal and appreciative the community is of everyone).
Answer: It's a legit company! Definitely not a scam :) In my experience, I've been on as both a listener and member, it's not a scam. We're trained & take courses (as listeners) to best support members. Each listener is different, as is each member, so there may be bad experiences with one listener or vice versa. We have therapists we can ask for advice or refer people to as well.
Answer: I would suggest that any person seeking true authentic assistance NOT visit this site. It is unsafe, damaging and narcissistic and does NOT offer true help or support in any way
Answer: I would imagine that there are many other sites that are BETTER than 7cups
Answer: To send one-on-one messages, you should be able to just click on the text box and type in it. I find it's harder to use on mobile browser so if you're doing that, maybe try switching to desktop. Otherwise, I would just wait a minute or reload the page, it lags sometimes
Answer: You sure can! This is actually a very helpful feature on 7cups
