Question:

Hi, i was told that you offer dairy free and gluten free dinners. i don't see any. will you have these in the near future?

Answer:

Hi Jeanne, thank you for your question! In fact, all of our meals are gluten free! While we do not have a menu currently catered for dairy free meals, we do have dairy free selections on the menu. You can set a Dietary Preference to avoid dairy after signing up, which will place a warning symbol on any meal you should avoid. You can also view the ingredients list for each meal by clicking on the pictures on our menu! Also, as we continue to grow we would love to open up the menu to have options for a wider range of dietary needs/preferences (including dairy free!)

Question:

Good morning! my husband ordered the meals because he does not have a chance to eat during the day. he is on his third order. the first week, he really enjoyed the meals - except for the southwest chicken bowl. the second week, he said he did not enjoy the meals as much as the first week - so they are just sitting in our refrigerator. and then we received the third week's installment yesterday. we are stuck now because he has to order the next weeks meals but he is not sure that he wants to and if he does, since the options ore limited, which ones he would like to order?

Answer:

Hi Annie! Your husband can certainly skip weeks of his subscription, or pause indefinitely, if he does not want to continue with Freshly. We do not have a time or weekly order commitment for our subscription service! To pause or cancel, you would just need to access the Subscription Settings (through the Meal Planner). Both options will be at the bottom of the page. He can skip weeks in the individual weeks of the Meal Planner! Question:

I received my six meal intro from freshly and was dissapointed to see the microwave instructions. i want to know if the meals can be placed in a conventional oven.

Answer:

You can certainly heat the meals in the oven! Youll just need to pop the meals into an oven-safe dish! We suggest at 350 degrees, for breakfasts about 4 minutes, stir/mix up then 2 more minutes... for entrees about 8 minutes, stir/mix up then 2 more minutes. Of course, times will vary based on your preferences! The meals are already cooked so you're really just reheating to your desired temperature.:-)

Question:

Do all the meals for the week come in one shipment or are they separate shipments?

Answer:

Great question! Say you choose the 6 Meal plan--during ordering you'll pick your start delivery day--say you pick the next Wednesday available. You'll get those 6 meals all delivered in one box on that Wednesday, and then 6 meals every Wednesday moving forward, unless you skip weeks, pause, or cancel. :) You'd also be able to change your plan size if needed!

Question:

Answer:

We don't currently have any kind of return program. We wouldn't be able to reuse the packaging since it has shipped food items. We do our best to reduce our environmental impact as much as possible. Our boxes are recyclable, as are the plastic meal containers and cardboard sleeves. The recycled denim insulation is largely biodegradable, and the gel ice packs are non-toxic, water soluble, and the plastic bags for them are recyclable.:-) And we're always looking for new ideas/products to help even more!

Question:

So my order shipped early on wed and i got it after i ate dinner tonight. by the time i eat my first meal it is 4 days old. my question - how long do these meals stay good in teh fridge. have never been a leftovers person but want to stay open minded. thanks.

Answer:

Great question! Because we don't use chemical/artificial preservatives our meals have a shorter refrigerated shelf life than frozen dinners & the like. There is a use-by date stamped on each meal's sleeve--it's typically about 4-5 days out. At that time you can certainly freeze any meals you haven't eaten to make them last longer.:-)

Question:

Answer:

No the meals are currently all cooked at our kitchen in Phoenix. We have definitely found that food is incredibly subjective. One customer will rave about the meals while the next may severely dislike them. Even meal-to-meal---one person recently said the Lebanese meatballs we had was their absolute favorite while another said they couldn't stand the dish.:-) We have strict quality control standards in place for consistency, food safety & taste & if ever we come across a quality issue we report it immediately for investigation & correction.

Question:

Are your facilities inspected, and if so, by whom and how often?

Answer:

Since we are considered a food wholesaler (rather than restaurant) we are regulated by the FDA & local county authorities & have currently passed their inspection. I have asked how often the inspection happens but will need to get back to you on that once I get a response.:-)

Question:

Who prepares the food (e.g. a single commercial kitchen or subcontractors) ?

Answer:

Our meals are prepared fresh at our kitchen in Phoenix, by our staff of chefs & kitchen prep staff.
