My Hair Stylist purchased these Tape Ins to use in my hair. Apparently she uses this brand and doesn't know any better? A week and a half later after they were put in I noticed that my head was getting sores on it. When I looked at my scalp in the mirror I could see that the hair extensions were ripping my hair out in spots. The hair was falling out of the tape and the extensions were hanging by a few hairs. I had severe scalp itching and headaches. I have been getting Hair extensions for over 20 years, before they were popular and I know what quality extensions are, how they are to be properly installed and how they are to be cared for. These extensions no matter how well you treat them, cause itching where ever the hair touches on my back. The adhesive leaks on the hair. The hair pokes your skin and hurts. When you apply any heat to them they actually smell just like my dogs bowel movements. Then the hair smells like that all the time. It won't hold a curl. Between paying the up charged price for these terrible, chemically treated needles on my head and the installation fee. I am very very unhappy. Do not ever buy a product from ZALA and do not go to a Hair stylist who purchases their hair. You are literally putting dangerous chemicals on your skin and they are not providing you with what they claim they are. They are scam artists.
Not double drawn FALSE advertising. I spent over $, 440 on clip ins and such a regret the hair is so fine and not double drawn at all as promised and advertised.
Ok so I was new to hair extensions and my stylist recommended I get Zala hair extensions to start with. So I purchased about $400-500 worth of extensions. My first set of extensions (which I had sewn in professionally by my stylist) I had I would say after about 3-4 weeks I would constantly have to brush them otherwise they would tangle and mat so easily. So after about 9 weeks of having them, they got so tangled in my hair and matted I could not brush them. I had to have a friend help me get them out. I messaged Zala, they asked me to send them pictures which I did and of course they did not respond.
So since I had already bought so much moneys worth of extensions I decided to finish the box I had for my next appointment. I changed up my routine on how I washed them, used leave in conditioner when washing them, washed them less, used the Zala spray made for extensions, an oil that others with extensions recommended as well as a new shampoo and conditioner that was recommended by others with extensions. I also made sure to braid my hair every night and used a silk cap to sleep in. At my 6 week appointment my hair was again getting super dry and frizzy and I began having to brush it more often. Even my stylist couldn't believe how they felt and what they looked like. I was afraid to go past the 6 week mark with these extensions because I could only imagine what they would look and feel like if I continued to wear them. So now I have to spend money on a different type of extensions because clearly these are not made to be worn very long. You get what you pay for I guess. Pictures attached are what my extensions looked like when I had to have a friend get them out of my hair.
Just as the many customers have already stated they are HORRIBLE. I have ordered from them 3 times. 2 of the 3 times have been negative and extremely frustrated. They are rude and sadly do not understand the importance of customer service.
Example: I paid for expedited shipping which indicates delivery in 2-3 days. It's now been a week with no delivery of the products I ordered. I was told in writing work with the post office. ARE YOU SERIOUS. This is certainly not a response Glam seamless or Amazon or any other reputable company who care about their customers would provide.
Fine I respond then please just reimburse me for the expedited shipping. I was told to reach out when I receive my order. Again I say IS THIS ACTUALLY THEIR RESPONSE. Hello That's the problem. I'm not receiving my order. In today's current situation one would assume that companies would rather maintain customers, especially after ordering 3 times, then pushing them to other companies.
PS. Their extensions get sooo knotty even with extremely infrequent use.
In summary, I will never use them again and I strongly urge you to consider another company even if a bit more expensive rather then risk the frustration of dealing with them. I'm absolutely disgusted.
Follow up they said a manager has contacted me and that's a lie. They have yet to resolve this.
I have been shopping at Zala for about 7 years now…I was super happy with my clip in extensions, so I figured, let's try the tape ins…they would know up…please keep in mind, I have used extensions for well over 10 years and I understand the maintenance. I thought it was just the color, I ordered platinum, maybe it was the processing…so I tried the champagne sew in…same issue…SUPER disappointing l, because when I buy, I buy in bulk…time to move on to another company.
Please please please don't buy from this company. I have had the worst experience ever. The quality is horrendous and when I reached out to them to resolve the issue their customer service was terrible. The hair is awful, dry and matted once you wash it, the breakage is awful! I use good products, I am a hairdresser and I have used extensions for two years and I know how to care for my hair to make it last. My Bellami hair still looks brand new after a year of constant wear. I was wanting a color change and was looking for a more affordable alternative to Bellami but boy was this a very expensive mistake. All customer service has done was search for ways to blame me for the quality of their hair. I had my hair installed March 19th and it hasn't even been a month and I am ready to have this rats nest removed. I cant believe how customer service has treated me, I have provided proof with photos and they still are giving me the 3rd degree trying to make it my fault, I have not had the hair long enough to damage it. I never experienced these issues with Bellami and if there was ever an issue they we're on it. They never asked 15 question's basically fishing for reasons why their crappy product quality is your fault. At the end of this ordeal I would have spent $1400. Please don't put yourself in the same position.
The quality of the Zala clip-ins is far better than the other hair extension companies. The clip-ins are easy to wear, remove and dye. Totally worth the money!
I'll start by saying I'm a licensed Cosmetologist and have done hair since 2005. I've worn extensions, myself, since 2012 and have worked with a LOT of extensions. I'm so disappointed I didn't realize the reviews on their site were biased/fake. You can't leave one, if you try. The marketing, models, return policy, variety, packaging, everything looked SUPERB--10/10 stars. I even emailed them in advance to make sure the clip-ins were the same quality as the other types. I was told it was all 100% human Remy hair and the same quality. Shipping was great, came in two days. Opening the hair, it looked fantastic. Color, feel, clips, lace, travel case all looked 10/10, as well. Everything and more I would expect. I was a little skeptical they advertise you need their special spray to keep the hair smooth, but I bought it, anyway. I totally gave them a fair chance. I did everything you're supposed to do--let it air dry, brush it gently twice a day, keep it braided when active, use their spray, etc., but it only got worse. By the third wash, the hair was trash. For something as simple as daily wear, it's done nothing but clump up, tangle, and rat. The minute I comb them out, they're tangled again. Not only that, but the hair falls out like crazy with every brush and wash. They no longer blend in with my hair, but are fuzzy, dry, and push out my hair, also making it tangle. This is a sign of it NOT being good quality hair and the cuticles not going the same direction. I don't even think it's Remy hair. I emailed them and they sent me 15 questions of everything I "did" to the hair (many, of which, should be totally normal things, like sleeping) and said my experience is unique. They also have 0-2 comments on their Instagram posts and delete any negative feedback. Not normal for 229K followers (they probably bought them). SO incredibly frustrating! No way to get a refund or return. They also have biased reviews with their "send us a positive review within 10 days for a money-back rebate!" Even though the packaging looks great, the actual product is not. I will never buy from this company again, or ever recommend it.
The hair stays tangled no matter what you do or products you use! They are way over priced and horrible quality
This hair knots so quickly and sheds something awful... The hair is stiff and doesn't look real. This happened in like 2 months! DO NOT BUY HERE... WASTE OF MONEY
Their hair extensions are the worst ever. Their customer service is non existent. I spent over $340 on that cheap disgusting hair (or so they call it). I spent over $800 installing and uniting pithing 4 weeks only. I tried two bundles each time. I couldn't believe all four were nothing but garbage. The amount of shedding was/is absurd, from day one (I am still wearing the last two). Cant wait to get real hair and take that junk off. I bought Jet Black, the color starting bleeding (a little is normal of course), but I am talking about 4 washes laster it is still bleeding (water is literally blackish grey), ruined my cloths, bathrobe, towels, and tiles. The hair clogged my shower and I had to get a plumber and guess what he found the cause to be? Globes of that Nasty hair they call hair. Purchasing from them cost me so much money... They refused to replace the hair, they refused to refund it. See what happens each time I brush my hair (picture attached) DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THESE THIEVES! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!
I honestly don't even know where to start in terms of whether Zala's hair or customer service is worse. I have been a Zala loyal customer for about 2 years now. I would order the longest, thickest hair that they offer every 4-5 months, despite the mediocre quality. The last time I ordered hair from Zala I noticed that it only lasted the duration of ONE APPLICATION (which is about a month and a half). The hair is an absolute mess. It's completely tangled, it sheds, and it's coarse as hell. I reached out to Zala informing them of my disappointment, and they sent me an email containing pages of questions regarding everything from how I washed the hair to my hairdresser's license ID number. I had the actual hair in my possession that I could have easily shipped out to them, but they prefer putting their customers through hell in hopes they would think it's not worth the hassle and move on without getting compensated. I am happy to say that I did let go of wanting to be compensated for their trash hair, then I found my saving grace BELLAMI PROFESSIONAL HAIR. I bought incredibly gorgeous 24" hair from Bellami and I am NEVER looking back. Yes, it's a lot more expensive but so far, it has been worth every single cent. Take it from me, DO NOT PURCHASE ANY HAIR FROM ZALA - IT IS TRASH.
I have been doing extensions for years. Only for myself. Moved from the beads to tapes to clipins. After researching thought these would be great with the seamless. Ordered the "real" 16", 20" and the volumizer 20". My son is getting married this weekend shipping was super fast. I was so excited with thickness but they were a little shiny but I was like ok. I always order chestnut brown Bc I find I can dye them to match my color (whatever one that may be at the moment super easily) this has never been an issue. So I go get the color I currently am, dye my 20" set. It comes out waaaaY darker then it should have and I've been coloring for years not my first go round and not with boxes either. I normally use some shade of red. This hair didn't pick up any hue of red. Just got darker. So I let them dry and decided to grab a pair of my older extensions as well. They dried a lil too nicely if you know what I mean. I thought well maybe bc they are so thick. Well I decided to style them and some strands were melting on my curling iron. I didn't have it set on 400 either (which I'll normally do for my own hair - with protectants of course) but at 375. And hair is melting onto the barrel. I was like maybe the dye was a bad batch, redyed them with my older set with another shade Older set did fine these didn't change AT ALL!. I reached out to the company of course "we only use 100% remy hair", "if you alter, you void the warranty" I get that but it's not even being altered correctly. I've NEVER had this happen in all my years. So so super disappointed and not sure where to turn. Can't get anywhere with them.
Never buy from them, worst customer service ever. I payed for shipping and they told me I have to pick my package one hour away from my house.
Hello,
I've been wearing hair extensions for 10+ years and I have never had this happen to me as many times as has with Zala hair extensions. I had purchased from them before and found it strange that not to long after I had major matting at the nape of the neck, I figured I must of done something wrong I let it go and had them removed I figured because of it being the blonde ones they don't last as long as they are usually processed. This time around I have dark hair ordered the 20" weft my stylist installed these for me not to mention that THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT MY STYLIST FAULT OR MINE. I've been getting my hair installed by her and never had this issue. I am also A hair tech myself and especially when I spend 600+ dollars on hair plus 80$ duty fees TRUST ME I am taking care of these. So it's been 3 weeks now and I have major matting I'm so pissed off because I've also spend along with the hair extensions Zala's hair mask the " ZALAPLEX" which also cost me 30$ this whole order cost me roughly 750$ dollars.
THESE ARE GARBAGE AND NON REUSUABLE. Emailed zala themselves and all they sent me back were options and links to videos of how to take care of hair extensions. I almost want to ship em back so they can see what they are selling to their clients.
I AM SO ANGRY!
This is not real hair! This is what my clients weft extensions looked like after 6 weeks. Do not buy!
DO NOT PURCHASE THESE! I have not even had these 2 weeks and they keep knotting up and I have tried every product possible, these ARE NOT REAL HAIR!
We are sorry about the knotting issue with your weave in extensions, Michelle. We appreciate your feedback & as a team, we continue to try & make shopping with us the best experience possible in the hair extension market.
Could you please send us a message at support@zalahair.com with your order number so we can provide better assistance to you? Thank you and we look forward to hearing from you!
Worst hair I have ever gotten
Worst hair I have ever gotten. I have been wearing extensions for years. I spend a lot of money because i do promotional/modeling. I bought the tape ins and they haven't even been in longer then 4 weeks and they are tangling, nappy and dry. I wrote customer care and they said Purchase our shampoo and conditioner... ya Already have it. And the revive spray, and hair mask. So basically ZALAS response was sorry u spent over 300$ on crappy hair please spend more on product to make it look a little better... I'm so angry! I know how to care for my hair. I don't use any heat on it. I braid it at night and wear a silk scarf to bed. I even told them i don't want a refund. I just want New hair, since this is obviously old, crap hair
They sent me.
And be careful, have u noticed all the GOOD reviews are for the stupid pony tails. DONT FALL FOR IT!
Im contacting The BBB, and i got a lawyer involved because clearly this isnt 100% human hair like they say it is. All i wanted was replacement hair since i thought this could be a bad batch. But since they don't want to own up to this i think a class action might have to be done.
UPDATE! I Got an email from them, they want to GIVE ME A 30$ REFUND BUT I HAVE TO DELETE MY REVIEW FIRST! SMH.
30 dollars for $316.00 hair. Really? I hope your hair is really 100% human since I'm sending it off to get tested.
Okay, all of the bad reviews regarding shipping being completely horrendous, I completely agree with you. However, this isn't Zala's fault other than the fact that they chose terrible couriers (DHL, USPS) but how could they have known?
With all of that to the side, Zala Hair is incredible! I believe it's real hair and the color matches perfectly. I'll attach photos. It's really soft and doesn't have an unforgivable shine like synthetic hair does. The hair was boxed really nicely and even the packaging screams good quality as much as the hair itself. I've never tried hair extensions but I know what real hair and fake hair feels like and it's real hair! It curls and straightens just like I curl and straighten my own hair.
Note* if you straighten these extensions at a hot temp like 400°F it will fry the hair. Not because it's fake but because it's way too hot! If I or anyone else straightened the hair that grows out of their head that hot it will damage the hair. I recommend straightening at 300-380°F, like seriously our hair isn't some raw meat that we need to cook all the way through lol! If your hair is thick section it into thinner strips.
I ordered the 16" Cinnamon Keratin Ponytail and the 16" Cinnamon 9 Piece Seamless Clip ins.
My ponytail came but my clip ins did not because it was packaged separately (my fault because I purchased separately). My clip ins ended up getting lost and then found in the mail and was sent back to Zala. I contacted Zala and they were nice and kept me up to date about my parcel every day. My Fiancé knew how disappointed I was that I couldn't get them in time so he went on Zala and ordered me the same clip ins I got myself. They arrived a day early and are gorgeous! Zala agreed to give me a refund for the clip ins I never received. The only complaints I have are towards the postal couriers in my area.
This business had me going through hoops. They ship through DHL which they either deliver your order to you or they take it to a post office near you for them to deliver. My order came from Utah to NC in just 2 days, it started off good.
It arrived at the DHL facility 3 hours away from my house and sat at that DHL facility for 4 days! (I chose 3-5 day shipping.) It then gets taken to a USPS close to my house and the app said it was "out for delivery." 3 hours later my package got forwarded to another address without my knowledge or consent. My address never got changed by me and I didn't move. I've lived at the same address for years. I even waited home for my order to be delivered and a mail courier never even came by my house.
I went to USPS that same day and the mail courier couldn't help me. She didn't understand why it got forwarded because the address on my ID matched the address on the package. She didn't even know where it went, or when, if at all, it was going to be delivered! She also informed me that the only ones who can forward a package to a different address are the seller and the consumer only. Any other forwarded mail would be listed as "undeliverable because location of residence isn't accessible" or "unable to locate residence." Which now that I think about it, I wouldn't be surprised if Zala took my money and then forwarded my package back to themselves. It's a scam!
I opened a lost package claim with USPS and waited for 3 days (my 9th day waiting for this order that was supposed to get to me in 3-5 days). My claim got noticed on day 10 and USPS opened an "investigation" to see what happened to my package. They informed me that if the problem couldn't be resolved then they would be forced to ship it back to the sender.
My order was time sensitive so I contacted Zala to see if they could ship it back to me if it got shipped back to them or send me another batch while the first batch was being sent to them (I was desperate at this point.) I still wanted them, I had already paid $220 and had more time to wait even though it was cutting it close to when I needed them. All they could say was that I needed to sort it out with USPS and that I would have to pay them AGAIN for re-shipping costs if it were to be sent back to them. All I could think about was me possibly having to go through this whole process all over again. After that it made me not even want them anymore and I just asked for a refund. I just want this whole entire ordeal to be over with.
Zala doesn't care about their customers. They aren't understanding by any means and don't even have a phone number to contact them which is really sketchy. All they have is email and a chat box on their website which is linked to your email they have on file. Both have you typing to a robot with pre-typed replies that project any problems or issues on the customer to sort out. This is a low budget business that makes the consumer pay for any complications that may arise on THEIR own doing. Do not order from this business. I'm almost convinced they choose the worst courier company's only to get more money out of people.
Zala has a rating of 1.4 stars from 109 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Zala most frequently mention customer service, high quality and human remy. Zala ranks 274th among Hair Extensions sites.
