Tried one ad, didnt help our business at all, canceled it. Then I got $300 in FREE ads. So I said why not let's give it a shot again. I followed it closely to see how much money the ad using. Until the end of the month hit and I see I'm being charged for the ad, so I quickly called and inquired about the $300 in free ads that I had gotten only to be told, that had all been used up in the first FEW DAYS! I thought how is that possible the first ad I had run I was only charged about $15, I just couldn't understand why this ad had cost so much. I called several times only to deal with rude and unknowledgeable people at their "customer service". Both just talked in circles until I was so fed up that I basically hung up. I WILL NEVER USE ANYTHING WITH YELP EVER AGAIN! The last ad I ran they ended up charging me over $200. I was furious to say the least. Not only did they scam and rip me off, they were so RUDE and condescending toward me when I trying to figure out how I had gotten charged so much when I supposedly had $300 in FREE ADS! SO AGAIN LYING, SCAMMER THIEVES!

Waste of time!
June 21, 2016

Company will only back its management, the workers that make things work in this company are treated like dumb, liars, scum of the earth, I had a idiot for a receiving. Supervisor, he was given this job because. His wife worked there, was promoted. From a regular. Worker to supervisor. In 3 months, I was his target ever since he started. I went to hr, the did nothing, I went to corporate.hr they did nothing, I begged. Them to move me out of his department, even to be put in a another location, I was denied, I was never interviewed. For other positions, in fact which I was over qualified to do, in fact I had worked in 3 other departments, in this Plainfield, Indiana plant, but was told by hr I wasnt qualified. To work elsewhere in this plant, this supervisor. From the time I started and he became a supervisor would harass me from the time I basically started, tags I did were. Switched, I was wrote up for things that I know I didnt do, RR Donnelley did nothing. To protect me from this harassment this receiving supervisor. Put me threw, this by far is the the most undesirable., unprofessional, place I have ever worked at, as a person that has worked in management. I wanted to return to this with this company. There are no African Americans in management with this company it is their mission not to allow this the more I pushed the more I was wrote up, I see why this company lost 4 million in one month! The incompetence. Is high up the ladder, if the board of directors. Have any marbles they would get off their lazy butts and close this location. And start over elsewhere with all new management. In place.the things I have incurred in this company is to much to put into words, I would never recommend this company. To anyone, for business or to work for if I could really grade this place it would be a -7

Thao (room 33@ Firewheel Salon) was the rudest hairdresser that I have ever encountered in my entire life! First she was snippy on the phone when setting up the appointment for my Brazilian blowout. I overlooked it thinking that she might be having a bad day. But on the actual day of the appointment I got delayed (by max 15 mins) as I couldn't find the salon and my gps made me go around in circles. She was very angry with me and did not even give me a chance to explain. In fact she told me that she would work on my hair if I kept quiet and did not talk to her. Who says that to a customer? I was shocked and wanted to say who wants to talk to a rude person! Then she proceeded to take out her anger on my hair by washing and blow drying very roughly and tugged at my scalp. I just kept quiet and prayed that she didn't mess up my hair. At the end of the process she told me that I would have to pay $20 extra as my hair is thick (I am sure she says that to nearly all to get extra money over the groupon price... a scam!) I have never had a worst experience in my life and strongly urge others not to go to her. She is sweet to her regular clients but to groupon customers she is RUDE! I was so upset that day that I did not say anything to her but I did inform the Firewheel Salon manager about my horrifying experience. Then the next day I texted Thao and let her know that she cannot behave like this with customers and you would think she would be apologetic... but oh no she turned more nasty on me and called me names. I knew I was wasting my breath talking with a person who is never going to change or admit their mistake. Future customers please be warned and then don't say that you did not know how RUDE she is. Go at your own risk! I did not even want to give one star in the rating... if there was negative points then she deserved them.

If I could give a company a ZERO this would be the one. I joined my BUSINESS with Yelp years ago when they first started out. I found out real quick they were NOT looking out for my Interest, of growing my Business. They called 24/7 with harassing sales calls at least minimum 6 a day. Blocked them, then they would call from another number, then another and another! Asking for money over and over. My free advertise with yelp turned into my nerves being shot! Then I noticed all those good reviews vanished. Now the bad reviews 2 were left. So I deleted my account, back then you could! Thank God! Other companies I see are not so fortunate! So now my business is on there but remains unclaimed. And I am sorry to say, but those people who YELP!. Need some. Real Mental help! The reviewer's that are angry and just out to destroy a business, truly do live amongst usI think they just go home. Start sucking down the alcohol, get bored and angry and start Yelping away! So much for reviews being constructive and helping a business change to do better! NOPE they got knives out, drinks in hand and can't wait to get their angry little YELPY claws on their computer keyboard to ruin your Business! You want malicious content, PLEASE YELP! You want threatened with Jail, PLEASE YELP! The Reviewers are as bad as YELP customer service! So my Advice to Business, Just DON'T! Who Yelps Anymore anyway? I mean if You get angry because we couldn't do a poodle paw on your 5 month old puppy, who is bouncing around, playing, chewing our hands. We are just Satan, and the worst horrible company ever! NO so your needs and review tell me that you want me to cut off your puppies toes! Because you want every single hair taken off those paws of a young little puppy! No CRAZY we are NOT INJURING your pup to satisfy YOUR needs! Thanks to Google and Facebook, Business can do free advertising and it is FREE! Yelp won't be around much longer.

Allowing False Reviews
October 19, 2020

Yelp allowed a false review to be posted about my legitimate, successful business. I was rudely told by a Yelp representative that it was the person's "experience". Anyone can have an "experience", whether it is real or not. One can have an "experience" while online or sitting at home watching television. However, to allow someone to post a review that is NOT true concerning one's business is unfounded and condones the act of trying to sabotage a business that regularly exceeds expectations regarding customer service. The person who wrote the review of my business was never a client and continued blocking our parking lot with her car, arguing and yelling at us when asked, politely, to move because they were impeding our clients from safely pulling into and out of our lot, and ultimately had to have the police intervene because the Yelp reviewer told us that "we can not make her move her car". Evidence of the issue (video and screenshots from Facebook) would have been gladly shared with Yelp to remove the review. Yet, Yelp did not want me to submit any evidence of the false reviewer. The review was taunting and relied heavily on provocation so that reviewer could post a discreditable and refutable review. UNACCEPTABLE. It begs to question, "Where is the reviewer's evidence"? In fact, the review goes against Yelp's OWN STANDARDS.
Yelp has seemingly and blatantly taken a stance with the those who wish to lie and post untrue reviews of people's livelihood, their business. I implore Yelp to tell us what kind of people they employ. Are these members of society who wish to bash and not assist businesses that are trying to please their customers and place food on the table? Why go to great lengths to allow a review to be posted about a business that is untrue? Why does Yelp allow the degenerative type of mindset to make false claims and "experiences" regarding businesses without evidence? It is time to call into question the overall practices of Yelp. Yelp's metric for allowing reviews is purposely complicated with no plausible explanation other than to allow false reviews and not allow true reviews of actual clients who have visited one's business establishment. The FTC needs to become heavily involved in Yelp's unscrupulous business practices.

DO NOT TRUST THESE SCUMBAGS WITH YOUR "ADVERTISING" MONEY!

Run, do not walk away from this piece of trash institution that should not be in business. They lie almost every time they open their mouths.

My sales rep, "Don't worry, you will close at least 80% of your leads provided by Yelp."

Of course, I was skeptical when I heard that almost certain lie it seemed at the time but I figured I would hopefully close at least 20% which would make the investment likely profitable.

They set up my account, without asking or confirming with me any particular preferences for the setup, and then started sending me "leads". Each garbage lead did not have a phone number or any contact information to reach the customer other than their internal messaging system. I knew I needed to reply ASAP to have a good chance of closing each lead and averaged 10 minutes from when I received the lead which is above average and should have put me in a favorable position.

25 leads later it became very clear to me that most of the leads that they sent me were not only junk but it seemed like robots AKA fake leads provided most likely by Yelp.

I did not close a SINGLE LEAD from the 25-plus leads Yelp gave me, not one! That is nearly impossible to do even if you are the worst salesperson on the planet.

Not only that but one of the few leads that had an actual human calling me turned out to be someone trying to commit check fraud with me. It got so bad, I had to call the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the FBI on one of the fraudsters that reached out to me from Yelp. UNREAL.

I spoke with Jessica, one of the alleged managers about everything and she could not have been more rude and unaccommodating. Not only did she claim to be the decision-maker for all of Yelp, she ended up hanging up on me when I asked to speak to her manager.

You are much better off burning your money than dealing with this TRASHY institution.

And, they have a 2 rating on their own Yelp reviews...which you know they doctored the other positive reviews...their actual review is likely a 1 star.

I say again, run, fast do not walk away from this SCUM company.

I would like to alert the public of the UNLAWFUL-STEALING THEFT of my personal property-brand new bike by the proprietors: Ms. Johanna Salvo and her daughter Sarina Salvo. I rented the 3rd floor apartment unit for a short-term stay and I stored my brand new bike in the basement. Shortly after four months I made arrangements to move. On the day of my move, I was not allowed to open the basement doors to collect my property brand new bike. The proprietors have stolen my brand new bike and they currently still have my bike in their possession. I have reported them to: BBB. Local law enforcement and I have made numerous visits to attempt to collect my property-bike and they refuse to allow me to collect my property bike, BECAUSE I EXPOSED THEIR ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES. My bike is CURRENTLY IN THE ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF THE CAPTAIN SIMEON POTTER HOUSE. While at the Captain Simeon Potter House, I experiences the ILLEGAL INVASION OF MY PRIVACY peeping into the bedroom where I slept by the proprietors daughter Ms. Sarina Salvo and her girl friend. I reported the issue and posted it to alert other single women staying in the third floor apartment of the CAPTAIN SIMEON POTTER HOUSE. The proprietors asked me to DELETE THE INFORMATION FROM THE REVIEW AND WANT TO KEEP THE PEEPING A SECRET, THEY REFUSED TO RETURN MY PROPERTY AND HAVE ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF MY BRAND NEW BIKE.

For an interesting read on Yelp's dodgy practices go here:

https://blogs.findlaw.com/strategist/2013/08/yelp-shakedown-complaints-lawsuits-over-review-sites-practices.html

I've suspected for a long time that Yelp was a shakedown operation, and I have been told as much by business owners, but now I have proof that it is true. This is based on what happened with two low-star reviews I wrote, a few years apart.

The first review (a one-star, with a long, detail, explanation as to why) was killed by the business owner (Yelp said it was "managed") because he claimed it did not speak to the personal experience of the reviewer. That business had all full-star reviews on its page at that time. A couple years later, my one-star review was reinstated on that page, and not at my request. It just suddenly appeared in my account, so I clicked over and looked at the business page. I noticed that the page now showed several one-star and low-star reviews, with various dates! The only explanation that makes sense is that the business owner stopped paying the monthly "page management" fee to Yelp, so the archived negative reviews were posted again. Kind of funny, but really unethical. Devious.

The second instance was infuriating because it endangered me, and it was so blatantly in violation of Yelp's rules. I wrote a low-star review of a business that I had used for years and no longer supported. My review was detailed and honest. The business owner harassed me (violating Yelp's rules). She then posted a long reply revealing my personal information (sick and twisted, and also in violation of Yelp's rules). I flagged the reply and was ignored by Yelp. I deleted that detailed review and wrote a short, terse review with a low rating. The business owner pasted in the same, long, vindictive, identity-revealing reply. Again Yelp ignored my flag. I contacted a Yelp through another channel and was told that they deemed that hateful, vindictive reply not to be in violation of the Yelp rules (no mention of the harassment, of course, because they cannot explain that away). And here is where things become absolutely clear, when it comes to Yelp's shakedown business model. The business in question used to have several negative reviews on their Yelp page, along with some positives. They now have 100 percent positives, and the business owner managed to "manage" two negative reviews away, by breaking Yelp rules.

So what is Yelp if not a blackmail operation? If a business owner gets a negative review and contacts Yelp for advice on what to do about it, Yelp will tell said owner that they can pay a monthly fee to have their page "managed." I know a business owner who got this sales pitch. This is about as dirty as advertising gets!

YELP is the paid shilling site. I knew it for a while, and the rumors and testimony have been there, but until I saw it done to me, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I don't give them that anymore.

Yes as other reviewers have pointed out, they take out negative reviews for bogus reasons often citing "objectionable" or "personal" feelings for taking the review of a bad business or bad person out. Case in point, I wrote a review for James Kosnett i. E. of the legal firm Kosnett and Durchfort that he was a fraudulent lawyer. He was supposed to represent me in my case against the university but showed no work whatsoever. I even took this to the state bar which equally covered this up, and couldn't prove he did any work on my case (gotta love paid shillers).

I called him a fraud because he was a fraud in my review, and then I saw that he was posting fake reviews for himself at Avvo (another paid shilling site) to pad his bad ratings. So in other words, I posted facts, and there was no reason for Yelp to pull my review.

However, YELP took its shilling action to fraudulent action. They marked the business as "closed" on the site, so no know could review the fraudulent lawyer. Kosnett and Durchfort ARE NOT closed at all. James Kosnett and his fraudulent firm are open 365 days a year to scam another unsuspecting victim who is unaware of how bad the lawyer is.

YELP committed fraud here, so that's how bad YELP is. I saved all my reviews including the Kosnett review and have begun posting them on Youtube. I have not been legally threatened by Kosnett for outing him as a fraudulent lawyer because he is one.

I will be able to gain more views, and even monetize my reviews on Youtube, so anyone thinking of joining YELP should join Youtube. I never had any problems with them, and they have never yanked a review for bogus reasons like YELP.

Title: Disappointing Customer Service Experience on Yelp

Rating:

It is with great disappointment that I address the concerning issue of poor customer service on the popular review platform, Yelp. Despite its wide user base and extensive offerings, Yelp's customer service falls tragically short of meeting customer expectations. My review will focus on three major concerns: their lackluster response to communication, their indifference towards false information, and their failure to filter out false reviews.

1. Ignored Communication:

When it comes to addressing customer concerns and inquiries, Yelp's customer service team has a dismal track record. Numerous users have reported being left in the dark after submitting emails or reaching out via phone, only to face prolonged periods of waiting or not receiving any response at all. Yelp's customer service seems to often hang up on frustrated users, leaving them helpless and discouraged. This lack of professionalism and responsiveness is unacceptable.

2. False Information:

To attract more customers, some businesses resort to using false information on their Yelp profiles. Shockingly, Yelp seems to turn a blind eye to this issue, allowing misleading or inaccurate details to persist. This not only harms potential customers seeking reliable information but also negatively impacts honest businesses who face unfair competition. Yelp needs to take immediate action to verify and rectify the accuracy of the information displayed on its platform.

3. False Reviews:

Yelp's failure to curate and filter out false reviews is another major flaw in their customer service operation. It is distressingly common to find reviews from individuals who have never actually contracted services or purchased products from a business. These fabricated reviews often mislead potential customers and severely impact the reputation of honest businesses. Yelp's algorithms and human moderation teams must act more diligently to prevent such false and misleading reviews from spreading on their platform.

In conclusion, Yelp's customer service is far from satisfactory. Their lack of responsiveness and disregard for user communication creates frustration and leaves customers feeling unheard. Moreover, their negligence in addressing the use of false information and false reviews affects both customers and businesses negatively. Yelp must prioritize rectifying these issues to regain the trust and respect of its users. Until these fundamental flaws are addressed, customers should proceed with caution when relying on Yelp as a reliable source of information.

Casa de Capucine is a small short term rental business. Yelp Representatives had been trying for years to get me to sign my rental business advertising agreement with them, but due to the bad reviews and the word of mouth of many people I kept away from Yelp.

On 28 September a representative from yelp by the name of Shiko Khan contacted me about great promotion that Yelp was running for the holiday weekended. Clients could run a promotional add for the weekend alone at a low cost of $33. Shiko Khan, insisted that I should give Yelp a try and not listen to the nay sayers and the the bad reviews, while taking into consideration that this promotion would only be for a weekend. If after the weekend I felt that I had success, I could come back and sign a long term contract with them. The only reason I agreed to this was because he told me on multiple occasion's that this would only be for the weekend and it would be cancelled when the weekend ended.

With that being said, I am very disappointed and disgusted with the way Yelp has handled the issue by charging me for something I did not ask for. They have charged me $300 for something that I did not even know I was paying for. After I agreed to give the details of my credit card for the $33, I never heard back from Mr. Shiko Khan. I sent him a couple of emails asking him why wasn't I getting any return emails from him but I never got a reply. This is a terrible way for y'all to do business and cheat your way into making money for Yelp.

I don't want to have anything to do with Yelp in anyway whatsoever. I have been disputing the $300 transaction since October 1 I never gave Yelp verbal or written permission to charge me for any transaction, other than the original $33.
I don't ever want to deal with a company like Yelp that hire deceptive people like Shiko Khan, to misguide lay people into eventually stealing from them.

Poor Review Policy
March 24, 2019

I have a yelp listing and there are a number of good reviews written for my company. Many of these good reviews by actual legit customers have been pushed down despite some of them having multiple friends and multiple yelp reviews. This has left only one good review on yelp out of a number of good reviews. As yelp reps have told me, But people can still click and see the good ones we don't recommend! But you don't know that in the Google listing because these are not displayed.

Recently a third party in a transaction between me and my client wrote me a defamatory review on yelp. This review has been featured prominently because of the number of friends and posts etc this user has on yelp (I was told this by a yelp rep). Yet they have never actually interacted with me or my company and the job was done well and with integrity (otherwise they may have opted to sue my company as may be their right). Because of this I am at a 3 star rating featured prominently on Google due to suppression of actual customer reviews which were 'too glowy'.

I have talked with other small business about this same issue. The poor quality of review control with what Yelp may consider freedom of speech but is in fact defamation. Freedom of speech does not give the right of defamation a tort which infringes upon the rights of others. Until yelp substantially improves weeding out of fake reviews both positive and negative and ensuring that real reviews receive their rightful place of prominence on business listings yelp will remain a 1 star company.

Of course after this I started to receive more calls from yelp reps asking me to sign up (a correlation perhaps as I have no proof otherwise).

On a final note your business rating on yelp gets two prominent places on Google. One is listed directly on yelp the other on the mapquest listing for the company (not guaranteed that both will show up but that is my experience.) This gives unbalanced impressions of companies. Although a representative ensured me that people will be so thorough in checking to be sure what people are actually saying and that they will know these are both yelp ratings my experience is that people don't have time to do that. The first impression is the one that sticks.

Yelp needs to clean up their act. I look forward to a legislative and/or legal reprimand for this and other fast and loose review websites.

1) I never asked to be on Yelp, asked them to remove my listing they denied that request. I'm not even a brick and mortar, I work remotely. They told me they can not remove listings. This is false, as I'm a developer and honestly they can take control and manipulate, remove, unhide and do anything they need to via their CMS. I know this because I created a new listing, it was fine, then I asked them to remove my others and they merged them together then removed the other listings, so they are absolutely full of it. Lies.

2) Someone left a false review, even with proof it was false Yelp denied removing it. It got to the point where I had to threaten them with a lawsuit and they still didn't remove it. It was shortly after that they blocked me from being able to edit my profile. They also told me and I have all this consultation via email if any lawyers are interested, that they could not remove it because it did not violate any of their policies. Once again I proved this wrong by posting a fake review, one that fell within all policies and was properly worded. The system accepted the review, posted it to the company, the company responded and 3 days later it was removed. Why they can't remove the fake one from my listing is still a mystery, hmmm, I wonder. More lies.

3) I have 3 legitimate reviews, Yelp hid all 3 of them claiming they were "asked for" which is also not true. I did share with colleagues and clients and friends the issue I was having with the false review and how horrible a service Yelp is, so they may have gone to my unsolicited Yelp listing to post those reviews to share honest insight, but they were not asked for by me nor did I ever suggest they do that. Just another way Yelp proved they are out to damage my business. As well shows how flawed their "bot" is when it comes to filtering reviews. As well I'm sure it can be proven simply by looking at how the system is coded that they have control over these as well and are simply denying it to be rude. And they wonder why I want to sue them.

I've been in consultation about all these issues with Yelp sin Feb 11th. 2022. Still, no real resolutions have been made, being told they unlocked things, yet finding I still can't edit certain aspects of the listing. It's a false representation of my business and still supports the false review and has hidden 3 legitimate reviews.

Yelp is such a sad service with really bad customer service.

At any point, avoided using Yelp, if your business ends up on there don't claim it, just ignore it. If you own any Yelp stock sell it, this company is going down soon enough. ;)

This shows how long I've been discussing my concerns on several issues with Yelp. To this date, nothing has really changed with my unsolicited listing. I honestly feel they are out to harm my business at this point. See my Google reviews. 5 stars.
