Useless customer support

They don't even reply to any requests, can't get them to issue an ssl certificate and despite them saying you can use a domain you already own it's a nightmare to do, also they dont host domains ending with. co.za

Ah! Finally somewhere to leave an honest review.

They changed my annual prepaid plan midway through to only include 1/10 of what I prepaid for with zero notice. Customer service was awful and they justified the changes because "we ran an ad about the new plans" which I NEVER saw and wouldn't have thought that would have affected my PREPAID annual plan. You probably allow them to do whatever they want when you accept the terms and conditions. I switched to Showit and love it WAY more. Don't waste your time on this shady provider!

Rip off artists

I hired someone to work on my website and she changed my provider to Wix. It took all of a week to change. When I decided I did not want wix, they locked my domain name and told me I couldn't change for 60 days unless I upgraded to a premium plan. Why would I do that if I don't want the service. These people are pure crooks.

Why do these peoplght e think we are all stupid? They say it is free but then they do everything to get you to "upgrade"--to the point where you are unable to make adjustments without "upgrading". It's all about TRUST. This organization is a big, utter fraud! Disgusting!

Please note that the free and premium Wix Editors are identical - the Wix platform is free to use and at no point do we request an upgrade to use the Editor. The premium plans are needed just to remove Wix ads, connect a Wix site to a domain or use the premium features such as the online store.

They're in Israel for one. What recourse do you have if you're not satisfied? Does one buy a ticket to Israel? LOL. They know you won't! This is the BIGGEST reason I should have learned by now NOT to deal with NON United States companies.
Their customer service is HORRIBLE! Once they have your money, you're just a number. Until that point they will tell you everything you want to hear in order to hook you. Typical. The product is NOT what they said it was.
STEER clear of Wix!

Not bad when your setting your site up but after that it's cost after cost. To run your own paypal shop it's around £15.00 a month which is a joke. Also the blogging pages connected to your website are done on a different server and not your website, you then have to add the link in to you website for people to see.

I have several wix accounts and they kept one account on auto renew. Fine. Yet if I say I don't want that email or domain the same day you charge I want an immediate refund. This is non sense to say you don't refund for this when clearly the account is inactive.

I was reading all these poor reviews so I decided to call the Wix Customer Service to find out for myself. I was informed that I had to wait 4 minutes so i hung up after about 2. In about 3 minutes I received a call from a Wix Representative asking if I needed any help. I explained my reason for the call and he asked I was having problems with my site. We talked for a short while and so far i am very satisfied with their service.

As for building my website, I was encountering some problems but I quickly realized it was my fault because I had not taken advantage of the tutorials. After I read up on the information i am very happy with my site. I have added some animations, etc.

For starters, I started with wix for very simple sites and then progressed to an ecommerce site. BAD mistake. Asid from there being so many issues, like lag and having to constantly export and re import my products to have my mockups show up to customer service - any way, it all went downhill from there. THey used a hook and bait and when I realized i spent 184 on something that was not needed to accomplish my goal- i asked for a refund the following day and after two customer reps and 3 hours of chat following their instructions 0they denied me my refund. Funny thing is that i was hosting 4 other sites that i terminated because of this. Anyway stay clear- many better options out there! Sadly this company is owned by disney - you know they love their money

This is web design built for idiots, and maybe on that it succeeds. Their site building software is totally nonsensical and is totally unlike any other design platform in existence. If you want to spend WEEKS learning how it works, good for you. You'll have a rudimentary site that you're wildly overpaying for. And then you'll have a lot of knowledge about an interface that will be useless everywhere else in the world.

These guys are masters of taking your money for things that should be free (like rollovers or carousels), and then frustrating your guts out with their horrific — let me say that again HORRIFIC — customer service. I've never worked with any company who cares less about its clientele than Wix. Maybe American air carriers are worse? Probably not. Working with Wix when there's a technical issue is a hellscape. I regret ever using them and am actively working to escape.

I haven't had a need to use customer service at all, so I can't speak to that aspect. What I can say is that I was able to put together a portfolio site with a gallery and an shop for printed items with my art on it quite quickly, as someone with experience with other WYSIWYGs. I do think people should know from the get go though, that a free site really just allows you to get things together- the "get your free site with Wix" banner over you site will otherwise scream at your public, pretty much killing your credibility if you're a freelancer or small business. I wish it were a bit more subtle... but that's how they make the moola! Still, I like the toolset... don't want to program the old fashioned way anymore!

Initially, Wix seemed like a good option. There were lots of templates to choose from, and the site is reasonably easy to manipulate. However, despite autosave being on, and my manually saving it as well, My complete site was lost twice. I never did get anyone to actually talk to besides a bot and a low-level customer service that kept talking about my feelings. Rather than a callback as they promised to address the issue, I received another email with the same bot instructions that were not related to the problem. I have requested my money back within the 14-day period. Please note-you cannot receive a refund for the email attached to the account. We will see what happens. If you're very tech-savvy and have lots of time to mess around with issues.

Practically a scam
March 30, 2023

I paid wix to build me a website two months ago for my business, and they said it would take a maximum of three weeks. But it's still not done after more than two months! Constantly calling and getting promises about new finish dates but nothing. They haven't updated me once a long the way. A woman named Suzette, who's the manager in charge, promised me it would be done by last Wednesday and gave me her extension to call her if it still wasn't finished. I left a message she didn't pick up. Awful company all the way around. Spend your money else where.

First month no problem then run into issues slow loading, problems embedding HTML codes, issues login in as well. Customer service totally unhelpful and argumentive. Worse experience I have had total unhappy that they have denied refund can't transfer domain or transfer all work I have done on my site. Wouldn't not recommend now seeking advice worth regard to refund as this is unacceptable you pay for something your having ongoing problems with and paying for something you are having issues with and can't continue build website, totally lost interest in building the site due to the problems.

Doesn't deserve even 1 star!

Wix is a horrible service provider. They will trick you in every way possible and when you subscribe they'll never get any proper service, there is no dedicated customer service to handle any problems that relate to anything worth any value. Tricky, horrible, garbage service from wix

A former employee started up his own business and set up a Wix website. He used copyrighted materials from my website. He refused to remove same from his site so I complained to Wix. They shut down his site until he removed my pictures, etc. A short time later he pulled the same stunt and this time Wix encouraged him to claim that a mentally ill relative was trying to take down his site. Any future complaints against him now require a court order for Wix to take action. So he is free to steal content while Wix hides behind policy that promotes stigma against the mentally ill.

Scammy, shady, money hungry

This company has underperformed in every way EXCEPT in being deceptive, which they are very good at. They have deceptively charged me many months, both at the start of my website and while I'm attempting to close my website, while providing a non existent service. Just getting my site operational took two months because they couldn't sort out the tax info on the backend. This is so standard yet i kept getting stuck in a loop with service. So many phone calls. Yet no refund provided for the time my site was not operational and unable to sell due to their administrative issues. Wix is garbage and unintuitive

They will increase prices whenever on next bill without notice, slick and unethical practices and most people don't catch it because they are on autopay. Thought they already charged taxes, then my payments went up randomly. To just start charging taxes randomly without notifying customers is unethical, yawl did that just a few months ago when my price went up, now yet again payments increase in less than 6 months during a pandemic.

Wix lock people in with these websites and know it's not easy to just transfer a site to a better cheaper host so yawl get away with increasing whenever yawl want without notice. Not right at all!

Prior to this I was a loyal customer, always recommending them. Site is simple to use.

Why oh why does Wix offer simple explanations that do not work for normal fixes? Now that I have bought the service and transferred my own site name, I am really questioning the move! I try to delete a page and it tells me to go to something that doesn't do what it is supposed to. I try to link my only two pages and that seems to be cray-cray!

I had vista print for years and a greta website then they partnered with wix and my main pages crashed just disappeared! It's been a full month if daily phone calls and escalations but nobody can install my old pages on wix. There's nobody there to do the work or they don't know how they don't are they give me the run around and their system doesn't support the high level of features I had on those two pages. I will be suing them. Those pages were the registration pages for students for my school. I have new students with no paperwork now! They had many cool features easily I made with vista print which is a small business for websites and I wouldn't use again as they gave accidentally deleted pages in the past which is horrific. I see all wix reviews online are fake so that's one thing they are good at making fake reviews! If you can't add a review there it's fake. This one I can add a review here and they have an F rating, their real rating!, vs A+.
