My company's holiday order for 18 people was confirmed Dec 11 for hot choc set +marshmallows. They mailed the marshmallows which were rec'd by all 18 employees, but no hot chocolate. They sent the cancellation for the hot choc on Jan 8 after Christmas w/no accountability. I called 6 times B2B team for 2 wks to find out why they would mail marshmallows without hot chocolate and NO ONE CALLED ME BACK. This was so upsetting and unacceptable.

Online disappointment
January 3, 2021

I placed an order online in mid-November for two sets of plates to be delivered to my Mother. Only one set was sent. Upon emailing their customer service team, no response was given. I called the Williams Sonoma Canadian customer service team in mid December and was told that the missing item would be sent. The goods have not been received. Emailed the Customer Service again and no response has been given. I will now persevere but I shouldn't have to bother for such a simple error on an order. I have forwarded my concerns to the Better Business Bureau for British Columbia and will have to dispute the charges on my credit card.

Ordered my Le Creuset dutch oven from them in Dec 3rd that way I wouldn't have to worry about the gift arriving in time for Christmas. Thought I was being smart by ordering early... silly me I didn't know this awful company advertises products in stock when they are absolutely not available. It's now past New Years and the delivery date has changed three times now with an expected delivery date of Jan 23rd-25th. Almost two months later with no guarantees I will actually receive it by then. I hate them, I will never recommend and will never buy from them again!

Backend chaos
December 29, 2020

Order placed for curbside pick-up. I get a text alert to pick it up. I drive 30 minutes to the store. The store says my order was partially cancelled. So where is the part that was cancelled. They don't have it. So is it cancelled? They tell me to call their customer service line. The customer service line tells me my order was never charged so my money should still be in my gift card account. It's not. I wait another day. I get another text to come pick up my order. I call the store. They tell me they have nothing for me and to call customer service. I look online. It says my order was picked up. I call customer service again and wait for about 40 minutes for them to tell me that I should receive my refund in 2 weeks. So basically, I make an order, they don't have inventory, and my money is locked up for 2 weeks.

Avoid giving an e-card from W&S
December 28, 2020

Ordered an e-card from W&S and received an email indicating that when the recipient viewed the notification, I would be sent an email. After a week, none came. I used the customer support email to inquire if my e-card had been sent. Got no response after 3 days. Called customer support and no one answered. Got message "mailbox is full." Now waiting on live chat for 90 minutes. Buy a different ecard.

I first ordered the basket and it would not let me send it to my Son and his family. Second-I had to order another one and I ended up with a duplicate sent to me. It was nothing like the picture. A sliver of Italian cheese, some Italian meat (maybe 4 oz.), 3 ordinary pastas in very small quantities and a can of tomatoes. Also a small bottle of balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Nothing special as a gift at all. I paid over $100. For this and had to order it twice? Never get anything from Williams Sonoma. They clearly are rip off artists. Lesson learned!

Ruined my holiday
December 21, 2020

Hi,
I purchased on line a wolf table top oven for Christmas for my wife and a few other items. My first issue was that I got approved for a credit card but could not use my 20% because the total transaction was two much and could not use two forms of payment on line. That was resolved after a few hrs. However, I made the purchase on my debit card and the customer service associate informed me the item was in stock. Then I found out through email that it was on back order. No big deal my wife's present will be late. The problem is it gets worst. I saved $600 for my kids to get Xmas presents and I went to spend and shop on my one day off and my card was rejected. After calling my bank I found out that Williams Sonoma charged me $576 twice and put two holds for an item on back order. After calling 5 times and getting transferred from person to person I have now spent over 3 hrs on the phone with the only solution of wait 15 days to get a credit. I guess I will tell the kids Santa will be two weeks late. A supervisor was spouse to call me back but that did not happen. Order ##*******635

I purchased a personalized apron on December 1st as a Christmas gift, was given an expected delivery date of December 11th-16th, but on the 17th of December I received an email stating that the item was cancelled because it was out of stock. I am astounded and extremely disappointed that it would take that many days for them to figure out they didn't have stock and to notify me, leaving me in a bind for Christmas! I called and spoke to a customer service rep and she helped me place another order, but I have little faith that the item will arrive in time for Christmas (if at all). On top of that I tried to place a review of the item but WS would not allow my review. According to their email my review did not meet their guidelines? I reviewed their guidelines and there was nothing that would preclude it from being published, my guess is they censor negative reviews. Doesn't that completely defeat the purpose of reviews? When you shop at WS you pay a little more, which I'm happy to do for quality products and great services... this is unacceptable - they've lost another customer!

Sale items
December 17, 2020

I bought 3 honeycomb jars on sale online. I paid for the sale price but later on they have charged the balance amount for the full price of the items. Contacted them and sent them an email but no reply.
I love their products but will never ever buy again.

Purchased 2 gift cards on Dec 4th and was given an arrival estimate of Dec 15th. On Dec 16th both gift cards were shown to still be processing. After talking with multi people in their customer support, I was told that they cannot change the order or cancel the items until they are 30days past the posted date of arrival. They now have one card changed to delivery on the 31st, so now I cannot make any changes to that item until February. A complete joke of a company.

Terrible customer service
December 14, 2020

I had two bad experiences, with William Sonoma, three days. One in the Cherry Hill, NJ store and one on the phone. I brought an item to the store, to return it. I did not have the receipt, but all of the labels were on the box. I asked if I could have a credit and they refused. On the phone I tried to place an order and use a certificate that I received on my computer. I am a cardholder. I was told it was already used, two years ago. I could not reason with them. I will never shop in this store again. I told the sal s guy in the store that. All he said was I am sorry you feel that way.

So glad Chuck Williams, WS founder, cannot see his company now. I just received 2 food items three (3) months after ordering! I learned that website doesn't tell you when items are backordered! This is a terrible policy. During the 3 months, not one word from the company. Delivery date was moved forward a week or so innumerable times. I would have waited had I known items were not in stock. So post-pandemic I will shop only in person.

Not a full refund
December 10, 2020

I made an online purchase of 559 dlls plus tax 605 dlls., but we didn't like the product (nespresso machine) I sended the machine back, package as well and not used, for a refund. I called to the customer service after I notice that, the machine didn't appear as returned on the status (they didn't processed my return as well) now my return is on my account for 575 dlls THEY TAKE 30 DLLS and they don't have an answer, why they didn't refunded me the full amount of that puchase?

Don't expect to get through easily to customer service. It took me 4 different tries, over an hour of frustration - including the calls being cut off and garbled sounds from reps with bad head sets, and unsatisfactory resolution of my complaint. The reps say there is no supervisor or manager to talk to but they can't resolve issues on their own. Completely bogus

Dreadful
December 5, 2020

The number they ask for to track your undelivered gift card (reported as having been delivered) is not accepted, however it is given, after several attempts. No record of my purchase, according to first human I spoke with. Next human I spoke with, when he actually started speaking into the phone, cut me off after some time I was on hold. Third human, after two attempts, got the number straight, tracked down the issue, and assured me a duplicate would be sent, to arrive in five days. We shall see. Two years in a row I've had a problem with WS gift card orders. Slow learner here, but I won't do it again.

Five weeks to let me know the delivery will not arrive until after Christmas (October 28) really SUCKS. I will never order from Williams Sonoma again. Unbelievable poor customer service. AAAAGGGR.

Sales people had no reason for the delay. Very poor customer service - certainly did not care. Ruined Christmas.

I wish I had read these reviews before I bought an Advent calendar as a gift from Williams-Sonoma. There was nothing on their site about the product being shipped from a third-part vendor or about it taking weeks to ship. I ordered it on 11/12 and, on 11/19, received an e-mail directly from WS that it had been delivered. As it had not been delivered I called their customer service number. Of course, I now realize that term is an oxymoron when applied to WS policies. The person I spoke with said he had no idea why WS had sent me an e-mail saying the product had been delivered, and that it would not be shipped for several more days with an anticipate delivery date of 12/2 - after the start of Advent. I then said I wanted to cancel as I intend to get something I can give that will be there to be used for the start of the season. He said he could not cancel it, the "rules" said that he had to send a request to the third-party vendor and that would take 3-5 days and then the vendor would have to cancel it. I said that that meant that the product may be shipped by the time all of this is accomplished and he agreed that was true. He said I could return the product, at my expense, if I did not want it after it arrived. I asked to speak to a supervisor but never actually got a chance. After waiting 20 minutes for the supervisor, what eventually happened is that the supervisor sent an e-mail saying she couldn't do anything differently than the guy I was speaking with said. I have painfully learned why WS has such poor ratings for customer service and product delivery dates. There are a lot of companies out there selling the same things as WS. I have no need to ever shop at WS again, and I won't.

Out of stock
November 23, 2020

I never learn. Ordered placemats for Christmas gift. Website stated delivery by December 17. Ordered on November 1st. Now I have received an email stating no delivery until December 30th... maybe.
Reached out to WS and received the usual lame we r sorry response. Just tell me at the beginning you are out of stock until January so I can buy something else somewhere else.
I will no longer order gifts from them. Period.

Horrific Experience
November 21, 2020

I ordered online [no easy feat!] and ultimately did so while a manager of the local store was on the phone with me. I then received 7 emails of which 6 were cancellations. The last email gave a reason: the item was no longer available at the store I had been using in spite of the fact that the manager had set aside the order, which was in stock, for me. I then had to phone the 1-855 number and after a hold of 40 minutes, spoke to Jackie who said the order could not go through as the inventory on the main computer system showed it was out of stock and she could not do anything about it. While on the phone with her, I used my cellphone to call the store and spoke to another manager who not only was not helpful and wouldn't or couldn't update the computer system but contradicted the other manager with whom I had dealt insisting that there was no curbside pickup which the other manager said more than once would be arranged once the order went through on the system. Due to lockdown, the store will be closed for a month starting in two days. As I'm an immunocompromised senior, I am not going into the store which is in the busiest mall in Canada. So, after two wasted hours and WS incompetence and lousy customer relations, I won't get the order.

A collection piece platter I ordered arrived in a huge shipping box, set at the bottom, with inflated pillows on top. The platter was shattered within it's poorly gift wrapped box. The platter had no protective padding within it's own box. The special "gift message" was printed on the receipt...
Customer Service was pleasant and refunded my money immediately, but were unable to ensure a replacement would be packed any better. Done with William Sonoma - not worth the money. Not the company I used to purchase from.
