They will rip you off and take your money. They do not explain that the payment you set does not go to your balance, but to a leasing charge, so I just paid them $207 and in order to keep my glasses now, I would have to buyout which means I have to pay an additonal 118 dollar, after I paid them 5 months worth of payments only to find out that don't count towards the balance. My glasses cost 215, I will end up paying them 325 now if Ikeep them or return them and loose the money I already paid. Worst, worst company to deal with. Beware. If a lawsuites starts, please include me in it.
I am currently on my 2nd lease. My first lease had an early buyout of 90 days, which I missed due to being in the hospital. When I got out, about 2 weeks after my original buyout date, I called to see when my next buyout date was. They generously offered to honor the original buyout date, that day. I was very pleased and was able to py iff my lease even after missing the date. Every customer service rep I have spoken with has been pleasant, professional and friendly; I felt like they genuinly cared about helping their customers and not just putting in time for a paycheck. Definitely going to keep using this company.
Took my box back to Sears because they could not get me keys same as new said would get all my money back BS took 533 dollars from me when you call they don't know anything hell can't even speak English so don't do it you will be sorry!
I purchased this with a the understanding I was purchasing, not leasing. When I called to see why they took another payment, they said I was leasing and had to be bought out. I asked what would you do, just keep taking leasing payments for the rest of my life? She said yes, until you called. Horrific! Then I said I am not paying the $341.24 balance, I said I will pay 1/2 of this today to finish purchase and they said yes. When I mentioned they had a profile with BBB, she said yes, because they have so many complaints. Also, I asked for a copy of my lease to be emailed but they could only mail. They said I agreed to all of this but I know I ABSOLUELY did not. It was a small up-charge to do this payment option; that is how it was presented.
I've never been late I was told by their customer Sevice I could change the date of payment so I bumped it for a week later and now it shows I've been late on 2 payments but reassured I'm current. Bad dealing with poor Service of lies. I told Customer Service and the guy says he can't take the marks off never again will I deal with this company
I wanted to see your store several times to look at barbecues I found one kind of that I like and it's salesman's name was Darius color guy nice guy okay and he talked me into this he said why don't you lease it you can you only have to pay for payments before your first month payment today and then you make three other payments and it's yours that's what he told me and that's when I went off until I talk to the staff at whynotleaseit and they told me that that's not so
I have perfect credit and I had the total amount to pay for the stove and refrigerator I thought I was buying (not leasing) up front. But I didn't wanna go about it financing or buying it up front. I thought I could pay it off in 90 days but that wasn't the case. The salesman lied to me and told me it was a 90 day same as cash deal. I took his word for it and I shouldn't have. I should've read the contract. It's cool though, I'll take that L but never again!
I have bought 3 things with this program.
A treadmill 500
A watch 250
A ring. 800
Thr terms are 90 day buyout after that you are required to make the 5 payments for the lease. Then you can either give it back or purchase the item for a depreciated value.
The catch is... the money for first payments does not go towards the buyout unless you pay it off within 3 months. If you dont you are technically buyin the same item twice.
I avoided doing that becuase i paid them all off within the 90 days.
This is not like aarons or rent a center. I loved the program. I wont get anythibg else because that ring killed me with the last payment.
It just takes planning that is all.
I have used the why not lease it program 4 times. I read the contract, researced my neeeds and how much I wanted to spend. I used the calculator they provide. Matched the cost against the amount I would pay in charging it to a card. I have not had any issues and the people I have talked to on the phone were extremely pleased and knowledge able of the questions I had. Right down to what can be bought. The first time using them I purchased Christmas gifts and had them payed off in a timely manner. I needed a washer. The last two times was gifts. I am on a fixed income and they helped me stay with in my means. The only time they ever took out extra money was my fault as my paym was returned by the bank and they really issued the payment I owed and the late fee. Bottom line follow the contract it's very simple and buyout early, which you can split without extra charge.
This is a RIP OFF... when you get anything out of SEARS they don't explain it like they tell you when you call. They money you pay never comes of the price so you end up pay for this $#*! four times more. I will NEVER buy anything else from these people. I see why they are going out of business all over the world cause they are Crooked! JERKS
This system is very tricky... YOU MUST read the fine print and understand what you are reading. Getting a lawyer is pointless... I got suckered into this smart gimmick but oh well. After the leasing term ends and you're "final payment" is received, you either pay an additional $900+ to own the equipment or you start another leasing term... This INFO IS ON THE RECEIPT itll get thrown out in court. It is a good system if you have a job but your limited in you're bank account... If you have the money to spend buy one out right. DO IT and save youreself tons down the road
This is a very shady company. They have a lot hidden costs and fees. Horrible customer service and will take extra money out for no reason even if you make all your payments on time.
I have made over 11 purchases and have paid them within the 3 month early purchase buyout. The interest rate is 10%, better than most credit cards. Very helpful customer service.
I didn't sign up for automatic payments and sears folks said that was just fine. When me and my sister bought the couch "together" i assume she'd be been helping pay for it. But no. And i never realize because They don't send me notifications, and they just take the money randomly instead of on our aggreed upon date, the 23rd. I just woke up to them double charging me "154" which was the agreed apon monthly rate but the charged me twice so 308 in the beginning of june. And after moving out and getting a new place, i dont even have access to the couch anymore yet im still making payments. Plus the couch is already creasing and getting ugly after only 6monthes. Really shoulda check the whynotleaseit place out before using them. Sears flat out lied to me and my sister and now we're over charged 581$ dollars so far! We're not even paid in full yet
Sears made it sound so easy. This is a lease not rent to own you will never own the merchandise unless you do their buy out. Read the contract, better yet just stay away.
This company, will remove extra money and not let you know why, I called to ask about it and the customer service line doesn't answer. Also, they do NOT reply to e-mail - STAY AWAY!
I got some tools from Sears that was 200 bucks and I put 50 down. It should have been paid off in 90 days but when I called and asked why do I still owe, I supposed to call and tell them that was what I was doing even though the balance was paid in full. To pay it off, I am paying triple the cost and the toolbox has broken the first week I gotten it. DON'T DO IT!
I purchased a shed through the sears.com and used their option for lease to pay within 90 days. But, their website misrepresented the shed quality and charging 1800 for a paper thin plastic shed that came to me with damaged boxes from the shipper. I requested a return as this was clearly not quality that sears used to sell, and tempoe, sears, and their online reseller, builderdepot are screwing me over and not honoring the return request as they label it as buyer remorse. Now my wife is getting the run around after i've spent literally 20 hours on chats and calls trying to get this returned since 9/8/2020. I am livid! Previously opened package arrives still partially open and taped shut by whoever had it before me. Not acceptable at all. TERRIBLE SERVICE FROM ALL 3 PARTIES INVOLVED! The pix are of the way the boxes came. I could see the cheap paper-thin plastic through the openings, thus triggering the request for a return that they keep jerking me around about for a month now.
I purchased some tool sets in which they set up two lease agreements and was charging me twice the tools were originally about $200 and I notice I had already paid more than that so I called them and CS Rep told me in order to purchase I would have to pay $148 more in which I did because if I didn't I would've been just paying and never would have own the items RIP OFF ALERT! I would've gave no if I could.
I went to Kmart a year and half ago to purchase a window ac for my garage. They sales clerk told me that I should get a bigger ac unit and go through there "why not lease it" program. Being an idiot, I went ahead and did it. The agreement was that they would deduct $42.37 out of my bank account every month until I got the overhead down to $100 then I could just pay off. As mentioned above, that has been over a year and half ago. Since this time I have been charged multiple times with a $42.37 twice a week, and then another $20.00 a week later. When I call to try and talk to a real person, I never get one or mysteriously get disconnected. I have tried going through my bank to stop payment, but bank wants a statement showing that I have consent from why not lease it. I have tried taking the ac back to Kmart and returning it in return to just stop taking money out of my account, but Kmart can not help. Thus far they have taken well over $1,000.00 out of my account for a $286.00 ac unit. I am now forced to close my bank account and date them to try to hit my credit with it. Don't do business with these thieves.
Answer: Because people do not read their agreement before they sign it. Whynotleaseit is a LEASE company with a purchase option. On the agreement states that you can do an Early Purchase Option of your merchandise with a small $ of service fee. Also it says that you had to be on the agreement for 5 months and after that call to set up your purchase quote BUT PEOPLE DO NOT TAKE THE TIME TO READ, they just sign it without even knowing. If customers do not call after the 5 month minimum term to purchase their merchandise on the agreement says that you have 3 options: Keep leasing the item, purchase the merchandise or return the merchandise.
Answer: You will pay for the item until your dead. You will never actually own this unless you take the early buy out
