Worst bank
August 2, 2022

Worst bank, overdraft fees, hidden late fees after posting your bank 4 days later. Worst worst bank. Better of stuffing cash under the mattress and having it be burned in a fire than banking with Wells Fargo. -1000 stars

They overcharged my grandfather's estate for services that were not even performed. They double charged for others. Spent hours proving these things and they argued, despite evidence. They are complete crooks.

WellsFargo has gone to the dogs. They have used Covid tas an excuse to layoff their employees. Know you have to set an appointment go into a bank. I am in the process researching other banks to transfer my funds and close my account with WellsFargo. Trying to established a business account- when I call I am usually on hold forever. Still haven't able to open the account. WellFargo it's criminal what you are doing to your customers.

Customer Service
July 26, 2022

Went to my local branch in Grapevine, TX merely to have a document notarized. Was asked if I was a customer and I replied that I had recently paid off a car loan early. Was told that they wouldn't help me with that, because "they changed the policy yesterday". Obviously, they don't want me back as a repeat customer either.

Zero ability for the lender to help at all with credit re-building. If you are one of those unfortunate to have collection records dont bother trying use them to get a handle on your debts to consolidate it. They don't care and you are just another screw in their machine to churn out ever more profits with zero care to the customers.

My best friend just told me another story about these scumbags!
Why don't you level with people Wells?
We did some really awful things... so much so that Netflix wrote a documentary about us. The government came in and kicked our butt and now we cant loan anymore money than we currently have loaned out! You know... the truth!
Hopefully the Feds break them up just enough to flush down the toilet!

I had three loan companies that approved me for $7000 dollar loans couldn't get it deposited in our account. Every time they tried to use the mobile banking it wouldn't except the check or they had a limit of $5000 a day. This last time they put three checks in on the 1st of July and Wells Fargo hollered fradulant transaction and put everything on hold for over two weeks today we get a letter and they are going to close our account and we cannot access any of that money until they close account and we have had our account since 2015. Now we have to open a new account tomorrow. I hope this helps

I don't even understand how this institution still has customers. They have by far the worst customer service via telephone on both the commercial and business side. I have had an issue verifying a problem with my account since it's opening. First they locked my account out stating my SSN was connected to a dead person. I can't even verify if they have the right SSN on file, but I end up getting a letter from the SSN office stating the claims were false. Now my issue is getting a banker to stay on the line with their customer service representative because their own hold times are to long; and the customer service representative won't wait a few minutes for a banker because they have to answer other calls. I don't blame the employees but, this institution is an absolute joke. I'm sure not everyone gets the same experience but I've had more than a few bad experiences with them. If you truly care about your assets and value customer service on and off the phone, then this is not the bank for you. The business side was even worse.

**Update - Still waiting and it is now 05/23/2023! But, I finally spoke to one individual in their back office brokerage. Even he was amazed at how many LOA's were requested and received from their idiot led Estate Department. GET THE F*((K OUT OF WELLS FARGO BROKERAGE - ESPECIALLY FOR THE ELDERLY - THEIR ESTATE PROCESSING SUCKS A*&. If you're parents are elderly and have brokerage holdings at Wells Fargo make them move the account somewhere else that is more friendly. Rymes with Schwab (one rec) Plus you're on hold for 40 mins trying to get someone on the phone and then get transferred to the correct dept. Every attorney I've spoken to in Florida HATES WELLS FARGO! Wells Fargo Advisors Is HORRIBLE!. An absolute debacle of a brokerage firm. My father passed away in October 2021 and they are still requesting and continue to request the same LOA form from my step mother that has now been faxed to them 3 times. She just received another letter dated June 30th. She as well as my step sister went to Wells Fargo branch that my step sister has a great relationship with. The rep was on the phone with their back office in February with 22 pages faxed over which included all the forms being requested. IT IS NOW JULY! Maybe I get to save someone else the hassle that myself, my brother, my step mother, step sister and other members of my extended family are going through since the judge released (not sure I am using the right term) the estate to our mother in law to distribute in February

Have had to deal with multiple customer service representatives for business checking account and have filed claims with the corporate office, the corporate office opened an investigation and stated it would take 10 days to complete the investigation... upon numerous additional issues with the bank and 47 business days later, corporate office replied saying they were unable to come up with a solution.

Used to be better
July 8, 2022

It used to be better but now it feels like they are more about money instead of the customer's needs and wants. They charge so many fees now for every little thing and through fraud protection changed making things harder to get and keep your money. The reason why I bank with multiple banks instead of just them. They don't offer everything I need and want.

Horrible Wells Fargo is the worst mobile app ever!
Horrible Don't use it- the store I purchased from uses them for credit! It's nearly impossible to use and or pay online, which makes you late paying, unless you have 35 mins of your day to be on the phone with them! Ho

I have been on hold for 5 hours today trying to reach someone in exception payments. I have been trying for 3 weeks to reach someone and finally decided to close my account. We no longer have a Wells Fargo on the area, and they will not assist in closing my account online. I should not have to ride 6 hours away to a branch when I should be able to het help online or over the phone!

In the 1990s my father died and we had to liquidate all his investment positions to put the entire $ amount into a WF fbo trust for my mother. No worries, right? WRONG! Suffice to say it's been close to 25 years now, and the trust is worth LESS THAN HALF of the original principal! By contrast, my mother sold her house a few years later and put the money into a Morgan Stanley investment account. That account is now worth more than DOUBLE the original principal, PLUS they give her $ every month.

So... We already knew that WF was at best incompetent, and at worst fraudulently mis-managing the account. The truly GALLING part is that when my mother went into a memory care facility and we attempted to access funds in her FBO (for benefit of) Wells Fargo Trust account, we were told NO! They said, "She has this big brokerage account, she should use that. We need to keep the wealth of her trust intact." "Wealth"? Are you kidding me? She'd have TWICE as much money right now if she'd stuffed it under her mattress!

So, we were told to take the money from an account with a 20% annual return instead of the FBO trust which was not only losing money hand over fist, but was created for JUST THIS PURPOSE! Even our lawyers have not been able to get these dirtbags to pay, and breaking the trust will cause us to lose most of what remains in taxes, so it's of no benefit to my mother to do it.

Watching my mom's account balance dwindle every month when they have NEVER given her a thin dime is beyond infuriating. Perhaps I should contact Sen. Elizabeth Warren.

I bought some furniture in June 2021 with the 12 month no interest plan. On 6/6/2022 I was charged for an interest of $651 with my balance at about $1,000. I was very surprised. Their explanation is the interest is charged based on the purchase, not the balance. I believe they have a very good reason to justify themselves but they are ignoring the fact that a customer who trusted them would close his account because of this trap like deal. The only way I can help you is to write this review. I will probably close my WF account and let the people around me to know what happened.

Terrible customer service that continues to decline. I have been a customer for over 30yrs and will not be one, any day longer than today! Recieved a medical refund for overpayment. The check recieved was from the hospital's accounting firm of JP Morgan Bank. The WF. Teller put a 7-10 day hold on it because " it was over $1400." After a week, the check was flagged/declined as insufficient funds from Mercy Hospital (Johnson County Iowa)! No way do they have "insufficient funds!" Because of this error, W. F. charged my checking account $12. For "their processing fee's ", without ever cashing or depositing the JP Morgan check into my account. The customer service rep over the phone, was super rude with her tone, and words. She would not listen, comprehend
Or understand and was no help whatsoever. She refused to help overturn the $12 and stated it would have to go to a review board and if they decide to overturn their charge, Only $9 would be credited. This is outright theft! What is to stop them from doing this internal scam to everyone & everytime an established customer cashes a check? Not only did they keep the overpayment check, they withdrew $12! I should be able to charge WF for the inconvenience of having to call JP morgan & Mercy accounting department to reissue my funds! W. F. Is just fine with losing long term customers & reputation. WF. Sucks! CITI bank, just got a new customer today!
