Up until May 2022, I had no issues with Wells Fargo. I have been with this company before it was Wachovia and now doing business as Wells Fargo.
Long story short, someone attempted to cash two counterfeit checks in my account. I am 88 years old, I don't always check my account, but moving forward, I will at my new bank to ensure I catch emails and notifications about such breaches to my account.
Wells Fargo, says that I am a security risk and gave me a date that that they would be closing my account.
There was no room for negotiation, no empathy for a bedridden elderly person.
A hard stop was placed on my account no credits of any sort would be allowed. I have an overdraft fee that I wanted to take care of. But I am unable to make any deposits. Please explain how I am to cure this debt.
Now what upsets me, is that this account will quickly be sent to collections as if I did not do my due diligence to cure my debt. But I have never experienced a company who doesn't want you to cure your debt because your account is blocked from receiving deposits.
I contacted the CFBP and they contacted Wells Fargo. Wells reached out one time, but the person is never available and I keep getting voice mail.
No worries, my daughter has done audits for Wells Fargo and they have messed up too. But still functioning as an financial institution. We should put a hard stop on Wells Fargo no deposits allowed.
They are not worthy of the one star, my hand was forced to give them.

Disappointed former customer.

Almost a year ago, Wells Fargo allowed close to $1800 to be scammed from me. When I called to see why they didn't stop it? You know my spending habits! Yet that same day the card was blocked for a bill for under $20. I had to call the company who regulates their bank in order to get a temporary money back. Took me six days to do this. Meantime my rent and all bills we're bouncing. I'm angry today because I caught a scam on my account for $199.99. Once again no notification to me. It was a scam company. I took a cab to my dr's office the fare was $26, my card got blocked. I asked why? There's a charge for something over a dollar, and other charges none of them over $20. I was told the charges like Ike's suspicious! You can catch a $1.90 or 5 dollar charge but couldn't catch a $199.99 that came from an unknown source, or last year a $1800 charge. Then I was spoken to in a combative voice. I will be leaving Wells Fargo today! I read the positive reviews. They must be related to people who work there. My experience has been nothing but a headache!

Got on line to apply for a balance transfer. I was accepted but... did not receive the credit limit asked for NOR did anywhere on the "Approved" email I received; did they list my monthly payments. I tried to cancel the application immediately but was told to call back in 3 days time. I persisted, calling number after number found on their sites and finally got 'Jace' and his employee number but still... call back in 3 days. They could not tell me my card number or ANY information I requested. It was an hour out of my day with no results what-so-ever. MOST FRUSTRATING PEOPLE IN THE WORLD. And it's not over yet apparently.

I deposited $5000 from an insurance settlement into my Wells Fargo account. I received email that $400 are available immediately and balance the next day. Next day instead of the balance being available my account was overdrawn because i paid a bill out of the $400 and wf reversed the money being available. I went to wf with envelope and letter from Geico yet i was treated like a criminal. The check was drawn on bank of america. I went there they said no issue with check. Wells fargo doesnt want to give me my money before TALKING to Geico. Do not bank with Wells Fargo. They are holding my money hostage and are treating me like a criminal after being a car accident VICTIM.

I called wels Fargo yesterday to see if I can do a credit card transfer. The Rep answer the phone as if she was having a bad day. I was shocked because it's unusual for a WF Rep to act like that. So I asked her a question and omg! She made a sound as if she wanted to tell me off, So she answered and after she answered I stated to her, it looks like you are having a bad day, can you give me to someone else please. The Rep puts me on hold for a long time, then comes back to the line with another young lady who finished up the call. Thank God the 2nd Rep was a little more pleasant and the 1st Rep. Thank God I was able to complete the credit card transfer. I was going to close all my accounts and cancel the credit card but I didn't want to let the bad apple spoil this transaction for me. I hope she gets better customer service training.

Put a foreclosure on credit report that didn't happen and no one will take it off or have any knowledge of how to get it off. Miraculously no records found and is totally screwing up credit report. Wouldn't work with us when we tried to get help until I got a lawyer involved then funny how they could actually help. Such a joke.

If i could get away with no stars i would. Never use wells fargo for an auto loan! Begged and pleaded for them to come get a vehicle for over a year and they wouldnt. Come to find out they had the entire vin wrong on vehicle and hit my credit for every single bit of it and of course wont even admit to being in the wrong after i did their job for them and figured out what the issue was and they talked to me like i was a complete idiot when it was their fault to begin with. Never again will i use this company.

I financed a car with them, and paid for GAP insurance. The dealer told me that Wells Fargo refunds the GAP. Loan was paid off in 3 months-was told by a rude employee that the 1k GAP refund would take upwards of 4 MONTHS. This is unacceptable. I have done this before, and the GAP took weeks to refund, not months! 1k is not chump change, whereas I don't desperately need it, the amount of time it takes to get my money back is obscene. I paid them on time-I will never use them for a loan of any kind in the future.

Absolutely terrible customer service. Rude and unskilled people, I don't know if they're like that for all customers or just to those with Auto loan. They had my account tagged with a wrong email Id while they generated account id, which upon enrolling the online account I observed and wanted to make sure that they haven't been sending sensitive emails to wrong person and also curious about how did they associate that email id to me when I haven't provided any such info or any email Id for that matter. Also, asked them to remove its association to me completely, if they still have in their system.
Customer care guy couldn't care less to look into the problem or find answer where they got it or even care to apologize for the mistake.

Wells Fargo is crazy to make me in 2022 wait on hold for 15-30mins and not offer live chat nor email support. Why can't I just submit a ticket or email and get support easier? I'm about ready to move all my accounts to another bank.

I'm so tired of this. Last thing I need to service fees charged that should not be and then have to call to get them removed.

I started applying for a Wells Fargo account about 3 weeks ago, and I still don't have it open all the way. I started off applying online and it said it would take 3 days to get it open. Well they some how lost my information, so I had to start the whole damn process again. This was literally stopping me from being paid. I finally got my account open, and it took OVER A WEEK. Not only that they don't give you any of the information online you have to make a Wells Fargo account on their website. This has already been aggravating enough, but I cant even activate my card! BECAUSE THEY FORGOT TO MAIL MY PIN. Ridiculous I hate Wells Fargo, and I cant even activate my pin for a while because I'm going back to Minnesota, yesterday was Sunday today is memorial day, and tomorrow I'm leaving in the early morning. What I want everyone to know is that Wells Fargo only wants your business and they care about nothing else.

My partner and I share a business account and each have our own debit cards. Recently she noticed fraudulent activity on her card and reported it. Not only did they cancel her card, they canceled MY card. I am away on a business trip and rely on the business card for all of my expenses, including food, hotel, gas. How on earth this happened is beyond me. I am furious and we will be looking for a new bank to use as we no longer trust Wells Fargo with managing our money.

I filed a claim 3mon ago because a purchased made was a scam. The page wasn't legit and the transaction was not legit. I immediately filed a police report and made a claim with Wells Fargo. Wellsfargo 3mon. Later denied my claim and refused to insure and reimburse the amount of funds that I was scammed out of. They also refused to allow me to appeal my rights they were rude and told me it's closed and next time make sure you ordered of an official page. I was disgusted and decided to shut down all my accounts with them and so I am suggesting to anyone who has a Wells Fargo account to shut them down! They do not help the holders of the accounts when their accounts are scammed or has fraudulent activity reported!
