At least once a month or more they do not pick up my trash. They always have some excuse and won't pick it up until the next scheduled week.

This company should not be legally allowed to use the term customer service. If there is any alternative at any price choose it over this company. Same experience in three different parts of the country. Absolutely will ignore any communication. I wish zero stars were possible.

I've had waste management since January 2021 after the purchase of our new home. Literally from day one I have had nothing but headaches. Our town is under a contract for $25 a month garbage and recycle removal. I was billed $32 a month with taxes and fees okay fine. Then I decided to sign up for autopay. There was the mistake! In 3 months we went from $32 a month to $59 a month. Our first bill on auto pay was $203. We went from monthly to quarterly billing which we are not supposed to be on. Their customer service team told me it's their error and would have it fixed and call me back within 6 hours. (Why 6 hours I still don't know). I literally have to call them repeatedly every month on this matter and lose 1.5hrs of my life every single time to be told we have to call you back, once I get a supervisor to approve this or that blah blah blah! HORRIBLE COMPANY! VERY POORLY ORGANIZED. Once again still waiting on that call back. Stay clear of Waste Management if you have any other option!

HORRIBLE COMPANY!

I've been using this trash service for 12 years. They're charging me $185 to take their dumpster away. They called me numerous times telling me they were closing my account on May 1,2021 and will pick up their dumpster soon. I told them I will never use them again and I will never recommend them to anyone. I had the dumpster emptied on an at need basis, $85 each pick-up (about every 3-4 months). I decided I could do it myself for about $25-$30 so I cancelled them. I even told them they would make more money off the dumpster if they found a customer that used it more than I did and charge them $85/month. They offered to lower the cost whenever I dumped it if I would not cancel their service. I smelled another contract coming on so I told them NO! They will not drop the $185 to cancel. BUYER BEWARE!

National account

Set up a national account after 2 years still have not been able to completely get our account implemented. Now trying to move away to another company and it's the same story they can't figure out how to unimplement. Sales guys are awesome but the program managers are horrible. Multiple meetings and the come unprepared and are never follow up on action items. Plenty of other smaller carriers out there. Run away if possible definitely would not recommend Waste Management to anyone with multiple properties.

I payed a bill on the 7th of April and had received a recording stating that my bill that I had payed a week prior was past due. I called the customer service hotline and discussed with the person that I had payed it and it had came out of my account. She asked how I payed it and I told her via over the phone. She said we have not received a payment ( which I had already payed) she td me they needed proof that I payed it. So she gave me her email and I sent her a picture showing that it had come out of my account. And even though this would be the second week my trash has not been picked up because of their end, it still won't be picked up till " the situation is resolved"! So I tried their virtual assistant which was an absolute joke, which I stated that in the conversation. The response I got back from the virtual assistant was" I'm trying to start a chewing gum recycling company I just need a little help getting it off the ground." Not only was I ticked to begin with this made it 100 times worse! I'm now canceling my service with them and going with someone else! Never ever use this business for your trash service!

Please please please - DO NOT use this trash company. I've had them for about a year now and they've missed probably half of the pick ups. This seems like a SIMPLE task, picking up someone's trash same day of the week, every week. Well they cannot nail it that's for sure. Reporting missed pick ups every single time - only to come to the conclusion by the end of the relationship "they have no record of any issues". Really? I have all of the automatic response emails from when we sent issues in via email. Calling to end your services? Get ready to wait on the phone for minimum half an hour - only to fight with the employees on the facts of your experience being terrible. They then charge you tons of $$$ to "remove the bins" from your residence and end the services... please tell me why I should pay you any more for a terrible service? You missed half, if not more the pick ups. Of course you want more money, right? TERRIBLE!

BEWARE OF WASTE MANAGEMENT!

Waste Management is the most unethical and unprofessional company out there and stay away from any services they offer. Since we moved, I have asked them to cancel my account and remove the bins from property. Its been 3 weeks, more than 20 phone calls and multiple hours of my time and the bins have still not been removed. They say an attempt was made and they could not find the bins. The bins have been placed curbside and I have security cam evidence to prove that no effort was ever made to remove them. They don't want to remove the bins because it allows them to keep the account active.

Also keep in mind that the wait time to sign up for new service is less than 30 seconds and the wait time to cancel your account or speak with anyone in that department is more than 90 minutes. I think this tells you a lot about this company. Overall working with them has been an absolute nightmare. Their customer service is the worst.

Contract warning
April 5, 2021

My predecessor entered into a crazy contract with Waste Management. If you are considering using their services for commercial properties: 1) expect evergreen contracts that require big windows to exit the contract 2) They likely charge way more than competitors 3) There are clauses that can cause you issues if you do remodels and have construction dumpsters on sight that aren't theirs 4) Expect surly service from customer service as well as truck operators 5) They drive out mom & pop operations. PLEASE, PLEASE do your research first.

Worst Service Ever
March 23, 2021

We ordered a roll off dumpster, they failed to let us know that we would most likely need a street permit for it. They tried to deliver it, and were unable to. Then they just never notified us. We had to figure out ourselves that we needed a permit, we called twice, spoke to two different people who said to just wait on the permit and that WM would handle it. Finally on the third time, we discovered that the previous operators never requested a permit from the city, we then had the operator request a permit from the city right then and there on the phone with us. After they picked up the dumpster, they charged us twice. I had to wait 33 minutes to get the issue even remotely to where I needed to get it to. The listed phone numbers are a waste of time to call, you are on hold forever, and the people you speak to can't even assist you. Would never rent from them again.

EXTRE PRICE GAUGING
March 19, 2021

Entered into a long term contract and price constantly increased. By the end we were paying three times what another company charged us for the same exact service. Account rep was of absolutely zero help. The company refused to budge on their pricing and threatened legal action if we attempted to end our contract early. Never again. I'll eat my trash before I pay them a dime.

I have been charged fines of $44.00 and $268.00 twice and for a small bag that was thrown in my dumpsters along a busy road. They can do what they want since they are the only refuse hauler in my town. I do not mind the large monthly charges I know they need to be paid for their services. But the fines they charge are crazy and they are charging them once or twice a year for a small bag town in a recycling dumpster that I pay a lot of money for them I get a fine for $268.00 each time. I can't lock them they are in bad shape and poorly marked. They don't care about customers because we have to pay the invoice no choice. If you have a choice do not use Waste management because they will waste your money. Help!

Stay far away

They are way over priced they add extra fees every month and charged me almost 200 dollars to remove there dumpster
Really what a racket I would never use this company again.

Having been a customer of WM, I will never recommend them to anyone. Call centre staff are not trained properly, different staff member on the phone has different answers to the same problem. It took them a long time to refund my money, after many phone calls and emails. Staff very vague in their reply. Unfortunately I have two different refunds, one from an old account, the other a new account, cancelled due to non delivery of bin. Don't ever use this company they don't care after they received your money, very hard to get refund.

I had issues with them picking up my trash and decided to cancel service. They continued to bill me and actually debited my bank account even after I I took off the auto pay. It took me about a month to get them to credit my account back the charge, Then they sent me a check in the mail. They called about 2 weeks later and said that they were cancelling the check because they already gave me back my money. I told them that I thought that my wife had already deposited the check, but was not sure since she was out of town. They said that they would call me back in 2 days when she was back in town, but I did not get a call, but I got a letter from a collection agency.
There is so much disconnect within this company. Customer service agents have no clue when you call them, supervisors tell you that everything is cleared up, but issues continue to exist with billing and local offices. Horrible company!

Frivolous fee's!

Ok I pay my bill over the phone! This corruption never stops, first a couple of months ago I had to fight a fake charge they put on my account $1,200, instead of regular bill $49.50! I should've not had to fight! Now we are being charged $5 to pay over phone! 3 times normal! The lockdown has been lifted but they would rather charge frivolously instead of open! Why are we have to be forced to pay for falsely inflated prices? $5 dollars to pay bill is criminal!

***BEWARE*** After a year of continual missed service, billing increases without notification and very rude and ignorant customer service, I had to just have my service shut off and went with another company. I talked with everyone from the local representative to corporate headquarters and they are ALL equally as ignorant and no help. I went above and beyond, turning them into the BBB and then they at least contacted me, but did nothing except raise my bill again. YOU LITERALLY HAVE TO CHECK EVERY BILL BECAUSE THEY CONTINUALLY GO AGAINST THEIR OWN CONTRACT AND INCREASE LOCKED IN RATES, (I was locked in at a $60 per quarter rate and service was missed at least 1 week per month if not 2, see photo of actual). And... they don't give refunds for missed service. If you can get a hold of them they will tell you that they will just get the trash the following week, but not refund you at all. THIS PLACE DESERVES A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT!

Terrible Service

We have used WM for over a decade and in the past couple years, they have become unbearable. They don't pick up when they're scheduled to come. They are nearly impossible to contact. They refuse to give refunds when they mess up. Awful. Awful. Awful! Do NOT recommend!
