My predecessor entered into a crazy contract with Waste Management. If you are considering using their services for commercial properties: 1) expect evergreen contracts that require big windows to exit the contract 2) They likely charge way more than competitors 3) There are clauses that can cause you issues if you do remodels and have construction dumpsters on sight that aren't theirs 4) Expect surly service from customer service as well as truck operators 5) They drive out mom & pop operations. PLEASE, PLEASE do your research first.
I made arrangements to pick up a large item (box spring) on my scheduled pickup day. Waste Management did not pick up the item. When I called customer service they informed me that I had placed the item out on time and packaged it correctly as evidenced by the video from their waste truck. However, the item was mistakenly not picked up. Since then I have spoken with customer service 4 times and each time I was promised the item would be picked up and each time the promise was made the item was not picked up. The last time the customer service representative promised a manager would call me in order to insure the item would be picked up. A manager never called me and the box spring still sits in my Cul De Sac.
Terrible customer service and management. My county charges me for waste pickup via my real estate taxes and contracts Waste Management. Since the town pays them Waste Management does not care one bit about customer service, its non existent. Its so bad I am going to see if it is possible to get a petition going to so the the town trash contract goes to another hauler
You can not cancel unless you're within 90 days (possessing time) of your automatic YEARLY renewal period. If you miss this 90 days, before your auto renew, you have to PAY $600 CANCELATION FEE.
Also you have to pay $250 for pickup of bin, and to cancel, you have to send in a registered letter via Canada post...? What? An actual registered piece of paper...? AVIOD this scummy company.
I have had late payment charges besides I am on autopay and when I call customer service to address the issues they basically ignore what I said and either hung up or transfer me and when I got transfer they basically said I am wrong and they said is always my fault attached the proof enrollment of autopay and they got this unenroll then again I have to enroll and is not the credit card I've changed and even all the payments made were with the credit card on my account is frustrating to deal with this customer service besides the website is a mess giving 1 star but deserves less 1
This service is the absolute worst. They will suspend your account for no reason and they will also not let you know via email or mobile that this happened. They will make up some random excuse that they left you a voicemail, and the quality of that customer interaction really sucks in the value you are paying for.
For two weeks they have skipped our trash and recycling without saying anything or a reason why. Our area does not have any dumpsters or recycling facilities where we can do this ourselves if this service decides to skip us.
We were in the dark about why we were being skipped over. No email, no phone calls, no text messages, no note on the trash of reasons why it wasn't picked up. I went to my account and there was no flag on the account that it was suspended, so the overall service is really bad, and I feel stuck as it's the only one that caters to my area. Must feel nice to steal people's money and not do the job that you have promised to do. Must feel nice to walk all over people and make their mental health suffer with little to no communication. There have been so many services recently that try to keep the veil on customer's knowledge just so they could get their next buck. This is one of those services I guess. They are leeches and there's nothing you can do about it unfortunately.

We've been trying to change our waste Toter sizes for over three months. Each time we call customer service (haha, that's a oxymoron!), they tell us that service will be out to exchange toter containers sizes. This has happened more that four times! And no changes to our fill our request. However, I noticed that our account reflects the changes to what we've requested.
Speaking to "Melinda", I asked her if there is a Work Order or Service Ticket Number she can provide to reference to when I receive a call back from WM to follow up on service request. She stated that they don't create service tickets or generate service numbers and that I can try the online chat feature. I stated that that feature does not allow that type of service, related to my request (she should have known that or maybe she just wanted to avoid the specific issue of providing a service ticket number). If they don't generate a Work Order/Service Ticker, how do they track their performance/quality. Its clear that WM doesn't care about what their customers think of the (ref WM Reviews = 1.1; WOW!) That review rating sucks and that confirms my statement about WM caring about their CS.
Company charges you just to come pick up their containers if you cancel. $133, more than the cost for three months service. Avoid at all costs.
I signed up for WM residential trash pickup online. They left a can but on day of pick up they didn't pick up. I called and was told it's because we live on a dead end rd that it was considered unsafe I told the nice customer service rep that the other 3 houses on our short rd have trash service( none are WM) and that those drivers had no problems picking up the trash. Later I received a voice mail stating that they were canceling our service due to the driver not being able to turn around and a refund would be given. I called WM back waited for 26 mins. The customer service rep said that she saw a note to cancel immediately but that it was not done. This very nice rep cancelled my service and auto pay and refunded my money. It was evident when the trash can was dropped off that we live on a dead end rd yet they left it anyway. And there was NO phone call, email or message of any kind left as to why service was not picked up UNTIL I called them. So if you live on a dead end rd DO NOT USE WASTE MANAGEMENT.
You will never get out of their service without paying thousands horrible people I don't know how employees can work there I don't have Facebook just don't want anyone to go what I went through
Can at curb by 6am truck shows up any time and different times when wind blows can over and knocks can over driver he owes right on by happens all the time.
Seriously considering canceling service!
I have used Waste Management for trash service for years without complaint in Columbus Ohio. After moving to Evansville, Ind and buying a house I chose to go with Waste Management again. My pickup date for both my trash and recycle was on Thursday 12-28-2022. My trash and recycle were both put on the curb on Wednesday the day before my trash date. My trash was picked up but not my recyclables. On Friday Waste Management was called and I was promised my recyclables would be picked up on Tuesday 01-03-23. Waste Management was called again, and a supervisor told me a recyclables truck did not even come to my house on 12-28-22 and I would have to wait for my next scheduled recyclables pickup date on 01-12-23. Now my recyclables have been out on the curb for 5 days already through at least 2 rainstorms and some of it is now wet and I have water in the recycle can. This is uncalled for and poor management to just arbitrarily cancel a pickup without any warning especially after a Christmas Holiday. I would not recommend Waste Management services at all in Evansville, Ind.
I'm in a tiff with WM. And I've never had big issues like this, just typical stuff and it got handled. But this, burns my onion.
I reported I was moving. I was actually incarcerated and moved after I got out. I reported I was moving, and for some reason you still want to bill me. Not only for the first three months I was out, but an additional 3 months after I was gone. I have given you proof, you can call the jail, you can call the two home monitor companies I was on house arrest with in another county 60 miles away. I closed on my house in October, my wife handled the move.
There was nobody there to put garbage in. I disputed it, gave you the realty company that took over the bills and YOU DENIED MY Dispute?

Look at my solid payment history. I never had any probs. Bill always paid. If it was mine, I'd fricken pay it. Quit calling me over a bill that isn't mine. I've given proof, and even the collection agency calling believes me. You denied it though. Well tough titty. I'm not paying bills for a place I didn't live. And today I found that you are billing me for the next cycle too. I've been in my house going on a year. The first 6 months of it were on house arrest. Call my former probation officer. Call the jail! I turned myself in the day after my wedding in July of last year. KMA.
I've called 4 times and still can't get them to pick up my dumpster. Constantly are missing pick ups.
I am not one to write a review, but Waste Management really dropped the ball. We ordered service on 7/6/21 and were told we would receive our bins that week. After 2 weeks of not receiving our bins we called and canceled our service and went with another company. ( this company had us our bins in 2 days and picked up trash for us on the day they dropped off our bins) so now back to Waste Management. On 8/3/21 we received a bin from waste management. Mind you this is 2 weeks after we already canceled. I called and asked for my bin to be picked up as we are not customers anymore. They told me it would be removed on 8/10/21. I just got off the phone and they didn't have a removal request, even though I got confirmation when I called last week that they would pick up and remove my bin today. So now they are coming on Friday the 13th to remove my bin. I have never seen a company so behind. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. They say they are the leading company in waste management, but they are by far the biggest waste of time.
Calling them is an absolute nightmare! You can't get a live agent without 20 minutes of arguing with a machine! Worst phone experience ever

Never do business with them. They do not honor a contract. Keep billing long after we sold the company. Very corrupt!
I ALWAYS HAVE TO GO OUT AND PICK UP ALL THE GARBAGE THEY LEFT ON ROAD FROM THROWING BAGS INTO TRUCK. I guess they don't know how to use the bin dumper.
