If I could give them zero stars, I would. They are absolutely horrible. I am cancelling my service, and I do not care if I have to drive 30 minutes to dispose of each bag individually, I Will. Repeatedly missing pickups saying that payments have been missed, when I've updated the payment method THREE times. I am fed up with the horrible excuse of customer service this company has. Save yourself a headache AND a $70 re-instatement fee every time they screw up and go with ANY other company.
You cannot change frequency or cancel without mandatory additional weeks of service, 2 year contracts and over $315 in additional fees for container closeout pick up, Franchise Fees and other fees. Thievery! STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS
WM attendants provide the most unprofessional and rude service I have had in my 60 years on this planet and around the country.
I being charged over $300/month to pick up my garbage and recycling. How is this legal?
Terrible! I live in Marengo, Illinois. I would give zero stars! Canceled with them after years of service! We paid 370$ to bring my account current apparently it's 90$ a month- monthly now and They slap you with hidden late fees if your account isn't at "0$" then to come back to pick up my garbage even tho they were still in same neighborhood -They charge me an additional 70$. Total is now 420$-mind you.We explained to them that I am on disability getting 1100 a month and my wife just lost her job- said there was absolutely nothing they could do for us. Also asked why we didn't receive a bill she said " we don't do that anymore" hmmm okay weird. Led me to Call another company in my area the second I got off the phone and found "MDC environmental services" for $90 quarterly- no late fees no charges to come back to get and we are allowed one large item to dispose a week. I called back waste management and got a lady- didn't get her name but she sounded "African American" told her my situation and said she has to charge me an additional 75$ to cancel my services with them! So now I'm at 500$. Also explained to her that we are struggling EXTREMELY hard right now that this amount was absurd to spend on garbage company when we are struggling to feed ourselves. She then proceeded to LAUGH at us and said that " we can drive them and drop them off on our own at the drop off locations then."! Told her to transfer us to a supervisor she then clicked on us and transfered us back into the waiting line to speak to another random rep. This would have been the 3RD person from WM that I had spoken to in over an hr over the phone. I cannot believe how they had the nerve to treat us after 7 years of service and their garbage men treating my garbage cans like crap and not even leaving them upright to where I had to replace them 2 times already at my expense because of them! Watching them stop in from of my house and drive off cus I owed one month. Not even a tag on my cans nothing!
Worse trash company EVER. Was told by their company to put any extra waste ON TOP of the containers
I DID THAT! Today they came and threw EVERYTHING on top in our front yard. Called them and was told that it's not their policy to pick up stuff off the top. TOTAL CONTRADICTION of what I was told They literally told my husband and I, WHO ARE BOTH SENIOR CITIZENS WITH MOBILITY ISSUES (which we told them) to "take the trash to the dump ourselves.
This company is full of empty promises I am constantly calling about missed collections and there default is all we can do is apologise and then empty promises we are a good outlet and they just don't get it the bin need's collecting weekly that is the agreement and what we pay for and this company just can't do that avoid at all cost
Garbage waste company live upto the name they are crap constantly missing collections then constantly lie on the reasons I will leave reviews everyday until resolved
This business is horrendous! They do not care one iota about their customers. Trying to get someone on the phone is next to impossible. Then when you actually do get a live customer service person on the phone, they treat you like a piece of the trash that they are supposed to be collecting. They missed our recycle pick up 3 weeks in a row, then I make a payment and it does not go through due to an error on their end, they never notify me of the error. I only find out when they send me an email stating my account is past due. It seems odd to me that email comes through, but the one they supposedly sent me in regards to the payment being declined never did. I wish I could give them zero stars! We told them to pick up our bins. I have no idea what we are going to do about our trash and recyclable pick up since they hold the monopoly in our community, but we do intend to inform the HOA. They took our payment and our bin! TERRIBLE in every way possible! If you have a choice, do NOT choose them!

The garbage man picks up our trash whenever he feels like it which is about once a month I have no idea why the recycle man has no problem picking up twice a week like the other one is supposed to but unless I'm actually sitting out there watching he rides right on by unbelievable I am so done with this I'm fixing to add up how much money I figured they owe me and I'm sending them a bill for the last 2 years of non pickup trash
I guess I'm not the only one by there reviews. Wish we had a choice! Good luck trying to reach a person and when you do, they will be the wrong people. I have tried for about an entire day now and I'm still trying to get help.
Months ago I used the site to pay an invoice, the site is very difficult and slow and poorly built. I ended up paying twice, now the login fails, so I reset password, the resets suceed, I get an email reply saying so, but the login still fails. The local shop is fine, this is about the corporate controlled website. The webpage has no ph.# to call, the chat box does not answer, it is likely an AI option only and unuseable replies. "Reset password" instructions, that succeed, but still not able to login. I have a credit of hundreds of dollars that I cannot get, nor can I access my account payment options such as they sent me a notice to do! This is a classic example of too large corporate failure. They do not have to answer to anyone or offer a ph. # or have a useable site. Billions in profits they are in the DOW, but the people that pay them are "under the buss". Failure to the max.
They roll over contracts without your permission. They raise prices without warning and after we cancelled our contract after 10 years they charged us $369.00 to remove a empty bin. They are criminals.
For a well known national company, their service is the absolute worst! Missed garbage and recycling pick ups.
Constant updates of rescheduled dates, which has quickly turned to skipped weeks.
The ONLY thing WM is great at, is charging my credit card. I should send WM a reschedule date for billing me!
The supervisors are no help. Have been reimbursed but that MEANS NOTHING when I have two weeks worth of garbage on my property at any given time now. This has now gotten to be an unhealthy setup due to age old garbage and now pests, animals and rodents are becoming an issue.
So much for a 'renowned' company. Waste Management is a JOKE!
How hard is it for WM to get the trash into the truck? Why must I go out every Monday and clean up after their drivers spill garbage and yard waste all over the street? The trucks speed around this neighborhood like have just robbed a bank, flipping u turns in intersections and some on their phones. I'm tired of accommodating their inadequate and sub standard service all for the glory of paying $300 every two months. And good luck with customer service! I think they purposely hire the illiterate and snotty just to deter anyone with an IQ higher than a carrot crazy.
(My 1 star rating is actually a MINUS 1 star or more rating) WM starts you with a rate that is moderate but doable then after a year you get raised 40% and then a year later another 20% & who knows where this ends. I just got the 20% increase and refused the increase so I not only contacted their support by phone as well as online-BOTH-and told them to cancel my account went to their Auto pay page and cancelled the Auto Pay from their website and told them they were no longer authorized to debit my card-So they confirmed my account was closed and a couple days later they pick up their trash can-then over a week later they somehow processed full payment for the account I had cancelled. I very strongly considering filing criminal fraud charges with the district attorneys office-this is in fact a criminal act by definition and this type of activity needs to STOP! WM tries to make you think that they have covered all their bases for good customer services with the huge most confusing menu on their website-but does none to very little to direct you to make any sort of personal contact for you. As soon as this illegal charge clears in my credit card account I will implement a Chargeback and formal complaint with card services-The BBB-and any other consumer service available to the public. FAIR WARNING Folks-This company thinks it's to big and we consumers to insignificant but we shall see. My advice: "AVOID WASTE MANAGEMENT!"
AVOID...formal complaint made. Stressful and time wasting. Increased my payments without notifying me yet didn't collect twice now. Issue still not resolved -waiting over 2 months for a collection! Didn't turn up after arranging collection but soon message when payments cancelled! You always speak/email a different employee who has no idea,so you repeat yourself over and over. Waste Managed more like Waste your time!
I am beyond frustrated with Waste Managed Group's service. For the past month, our waste has not been collected at all. Despite numerous complaints and follow-ups, there has been zero action or communication from their side. This neglect has resulted in overflowing bins and an unbearable stench around our premises.
Their customer service is appalling; every call ends with empty promises and no actual resolution. It's clear that they do not care about their customers or their responsibilities. This is by far the worst waste management service I have ever encountered.
Save yourself the headache and avoid Waste Managed Group at all costs. Their utter incompetence and lack of professionalism are unacceptable. This experience has been nothing short of a nightmare.
Know why WM has zero stars everywhere? Because they will do nothing to pick up any item, make you pay for a service they will never provide, and offer you lie after lie after lie in return in customer service. I booked a pick up on May 2nd. It's June 3rd. I have been told every day...for 30 days...that "my item is definitely being picked up today." You will never NOT be lied to.
Waste Management skips locations, and doesn't bother to fix their errors. Choose another company, if available.
Go elsewhere and thank me later. Don't perform the service they're supposed to. Easy to sign up, impossible to cancel. They lock you into a contract and even though they don't uphold their end of it they try to make you pay them hundreds of dollars to cancel service. Trying to speak to a human being? Impossible. If you're lucky enough to get through to someone, they hang up on you. Will not credit you for the weeks they don't pick up your trash. More expensive than other companies too. There is absolutely NOTHING good about WM. Believe the reviews, they're all one star…only because zero isn't an option.
My bill was $335.00 per quarter considering that the service was not as stellar as it used to be and the bill was so high I called around and found a local company that would pick up my trash for $145.00. When I called to cancel the woman on the phone stated that she could lower my bill to $174.00, wait WHAT! So unless you call and try to cancel you get screwed. Additionally they will not refund you for services that you have paid for but not yet received. The manager that called me back basically said we don't have the time to review everyone's bill. They just increase your bill each year and prey on the people who don't call and complain. I have been using waste management for over 10 years. If you are looking to sign up I wouldn't and if you are looking to cancel Good Luck
Answer: Apparently it is how they conduct business by being as rude and unethical as possible. I hope they did not steal from you as well.
