I have been a Vudu customer for approximately four years. I have over a thousand movies in my cloud account. Everything works fine unless you have an issue and try to contact online support. They do not provide a customer service phone number. I had purchased some movies about four months ago in order to obtain a discount movie theater ticket voucher on a recently released movie. I never got the voucher and went thru several E mails with Vudu online customer service with no resolution and finally gave up. They were totally clueless. Then I purchased "The "Mummy" with Tom Cruise to get a $3.00 credit. I got the credit verification code but it was invalid. I E mailed a copy of the verification code as a word doc. And they said they needed a JPEG photo. So I took a picture of the Verification code with my Android phone and E mailed a picture to them., They said they could not open it and to send another one. This is to much hassle for three dollars. I am seriously considering buying my digital content from another provider. I have spent literally thousands of dollars with Vudu, and this is how they treat their best customers. Shameful!
So after buying the last couple of movies, I noticed my streaming quality only goes up to HDX. Mostly everything I buy on the app is UHD (and yes all my devices are UHD HDR+ compatible). Started a chat at around 7PM (my time) and waited almost an hour in the queue. Finally connected to someone and went through their basic troubleshooting. That didn't work. After that, I was told she was going to send an email to create a Case Number. Usually a case number is generated prior to ending the chat so you can at least have a reference in the event you don't get an answer or need a follow up. Here it is at 9:00PM and no email to start the investigation. Seems to me that as long as they get your money they'll put you in a queue to wait until you give up and stop trying to contact them.
Anytime I rent a movie to see takes me 4 hours to see because the move freezes every 30 seconds. Don't you guys don't upgrade your computers? Worst experience.
Well if you only plan on watching your HDX purchases on your TV then it's no issue. However if you plan on watching those same HDX purchases on your mobile (which you should be able to) your outta luck. There is no option to watch your HDX purchases on the Vudu app with your phone. Only SD (Standard Definition) Sounds like seller fraud to me. Shame on Vudu!
My 5 year old son made 6 accidental purchases in a row ($68 total). My bank notified me and I called immediately.
My son saw me enter my pin as I was unaware that he knew. Per the picture you'll see they are all lid movies (Lion King, Ice Age etc.)
I called customer service and let them know exactly what "JUST" happened and thought it would be resolved easily as I did not want to go through by bank.
They informed me they could credit me back as they did a courtesy last year. They said it was my fault and recommended I should have set up a pin.
I told them I did last time but reiterated that my son saw my pin hence was able to purchase.
They insisted they couldn't help me and the option was not available. They connected me with supervisor and he proceeded to tell me the same thing. He said the option was not available.
I let him know it was fraud and I have not even watched any of the purchases. He said it's not fraud and he couldn't reverse the charges.
I proceeded to call my bank and they "EASILY" were able to dispute charges. ANY purchase not made by me is considered FRAUD.
Needless to say I'm very disappointed in VUDU lack of customer service.
I have been a loyal customer for years and made tons of purchases. Apparently that didn't mean anything to them.
I will not be using VUDU moving forward.
BEWARE! I WAS OFFERED A DISCOUNT WHICH I DIDN'T RECEIVE. I ASKED FOR IT. AFTER 6 WEEKS OF NO ANSWER, I DISPUTED THE CHARGE WITH MY BANK AND FOR THAT VUDU SUSPENDED MY ACCOUNT. I NO LONGER HAVE ACCESS TO MY 200+ MOVIES (I PAID VUDU $5 TO CONVERT OR BOUGHT NEW MOVIES - $200 OVER LAST 2 YEARS).
TO GET ACCESS BACK, I HAVE TO CANCEL THE DISPUTE WITH MY BANK, PROVIDE PROOF TO VUDU AND ONLY THEN DO THEY SAY THEY WILL RESOLVE MY BILLING ISSUE.
I HAVE NO FAITH THAT, AFTER SPENDING HOURS TO DO WHAT THEY ASK, THEY'D REFUND MY MONEY. THEY HAD 6 WEEKS TO DO IT BEFORE AND DID NOT! WHAT KIND OF COMPANY SUSPENDS YOUR ACCOUNT WHEN YOU POINT OUT AN OVERCHARGE INSTEAD OF ADDRESSING YOUR ISSUE? ONE OWNED BY WALMART WITH THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! I'M USING FLIXSTER TO VIEW, AMAZON AND ITUNE TO BUY MOVIES FROM NOW ON. THEY TREAT THEIR CUSTOMERS SO POORLY!

By far the best of all streaming services to watch your collection, user friendly, great filters, some movies are very reasonably priced. I also love the ability to scan my home movies and have them appear on my account.
However, they are sloppy, lots of misspellings, wrong actors listed for movies, etc. All that would be forgivable due to it's other qualities except when it comes to their Disc to Digital service. Most movies are ineligible, there is a cost involved for scanning your own movies which you already paid for, many movies scanned are associated with the wrong titles, and if all that wasn't bad enough, there is a cap on how many of your own films you can scan each year.
Only about a quarter of my movies are eligible but with the restraints put on the amount of films I can transfer, it will cost roughly $2000 and take 20 years before I can transfer my eligible films on to my account.
Also they discontinued the ability to share your account with others which isn't too bad because only a fraction of those movies could be seen anyways. All the best movies are restricted from this service.

I been waiting from december 2015 for 5 dollar credit I should get for 4 weeks in a row, its feb 2016 still nothing I purchase a vudu streaming device and lost my trust in you keep calling and vudu personal just keep on saying I have to wait, till then LOST MY BUSINESS.
All the movies i purchased over 2 year period they just disappeared except the last movie i watched. I looked at MANY reviews of the same thing happening! So you spend alot of money for movies you buy and they take them away! Turn them into your state Attorney General! SCAMMERS! DONT BUY FROM THEM
Tried to get credit via Wal-Mart as demanded from Roku's Vudu. Never worked. Went to Amazon... presto kids are watching the movie with no need for WAL-MART site.
Vudu streaming fakes customer with free streaming & then when you access there is a rental charge.
Misleading... you get to see the trailor for free... really. DELETE.
It stop all the time when watch a movie. Not happy with it. I'm not going to used it any more. I hope you guys don't waste your time on this app. It truly suck $#*!
VUDU is absolutely crap! The first time I rented something from VUDU I had no issues. That would be the first and last time that I wouldn't. Every time since I have tried to rent a movie it cuts out every 1-2 minutes. I've tried switching from HDX to HD and finally to SD. They all suck. I've done all the trouble shooting crap they ask you to do that doesn't work. I have one of the best TV's on the market, the highest possible internet speed through Verizon Fios and VUDU is still crap. I have no other problems with Amazon, Netflix or any of my other devices. Any good review on her I can only assume come from people that work at VUDU and are forced to leave something good to try and wash out all the bad. If I could leave something less than a 1, I would.
I see alot of people on here complaining about VUDU! Yet I see this is not just VUDU that has the problems! I see the same problem watching my movies on, Fandango Now! And also on Movies Anywhere! You start to watch, and the next thing You know it stops! Then it is buffer hell, then it will either start backup, or it will slap an error message on screen! So this tells me is it really a VUDU thing? To tell You the truth, If I had to guess, and I would say my guess is right, it is a DRM thing! Digital rights management, that these sites use to stop people from stealing their content! I don't know if any of You uses HULU! But they have the same problems, only worse! If You all want less headaches, then just buy hard copy, DVD/Blu Ray! Then You won't have a problem with the movie playing! I find it funny that everyone has to keep up with the Jones! Everyone has to follow suite! I find it funny people will spend a ton of money on something they will never have in their hands, and sadly can't watch what they pay for? Gotta love it! Space age gone wrong! Another thing, we pay for internet, yet the Government sold us out to anyone who hands them money, to follow are every movement! On top of the Government spying on us an Goggle is the biggest peeping Tom there is, between all the spying, our movie streamers, laptops, smart TV's doesn't stand a chance in hell of working good for anyone! Just saying!
I have been a customer with Vudu for about 3 yrs I have put up with the buffering issues and slow loading even when I have top of the line internet but TODAY was the last straw I purchased a pre-order and it CLEARLY stated me card would not be charged until my movie was available and it was and I wanted a refund and was told because of some crappy 7.00 towards a movie ticket I could not have a refund then they said they would escalate my issue to accounting and after ALMOST a week got told the same thing. I then asked to speak with a supervisor Anthony was his name he was rude and yelled at me and talked to me like I was an idiot so I asked to speak to Anthony's boss he told me his manager doesn't take calls and they just sent me a e-mail form letter telling me they will not refund my money. I will no longer purchase anything on VUDU and I will be using AMAZON from now on they have GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!
Let me start by saying that I used to sing Vudu's praises. And I've still never had a problem purchasing directly from Vudu or viewing a movie with Vudu on any platform. That being said, converting from disc to digital is another story, Converting from the iPhone/iPad app hasn't worked for me at all. If you try to convert through the app and it doesn't work, Vudu to Go won't allow you to add those movies to your cart on PC. That's fun. Then there is Vudu/Walmart's Instawatch. The idea is to scan your Walmart receipt into the Walmart app and and any qualifying movie you purchased will instantly show up in your Vudu account. And sometimes it does. When it doesn't, you have to take a picture of the receipt, take pictures of the front and back cover of the blu-ray, then wait three weeks for someone to email you back. Sort of the opposite of instant. Emailing Vudu is just sending your problem into a void. The only replies I've ever gotten were weeks later asking if they had fixed the problem. I thought I would try calling. No one that I talked to could answer any question I had or offer any solution to the problem. Also, customer service is 9-5, Monday-Friday. I rarely watch movies from 9-5, Monday-Friday. If anyone else at all ever offers me a place to convert/purchase/watch all of my UltraViolet movies in one place, I will happily move on from Vudu. Unless it's a Disney movie, right now, they're the only game in town for UV.
Every time and I mean every time I try to get a movie to watch I pay for it but yet it's a crapshoot whether or not I get to see it. Like right now there's a movie from 50 years ago I'm trying to watch I've paid for it I've had to re-enter my information twice before I could even get to the point of renting it and now that I've rented it it's just doesn't give it to me! I don't know what's going on with this thing but fair warning stay away from it I'm getting rid of it after this crap I I've spent too much of my own money trying to keep movies I'd like to see and TV shows and it's taking me an act of Congress before I'm allowed to watch any of it.
Reasonable prices and awesome customer service! Not sure why everyone says streaming was bad? Could be a problem with their internet service! Never have had a problem!
Disk to Digital is great but when VUDU srews up they won't resolve the problem. I did a D to D for "The Illusionist" (Ed Norton, Jessica Biehl). What Vudu put into my library was "The Illusionist", a cartoon video. A mistake that is understandable when people that link moves by titles have no clue about the majority of the movies or their content. I called, emailed, sent all of the pictures they asked for of the UPC, artwork, disks - everything. But while the total damage was only $2 they refused to put the correct movie in my library. If I tried to redo it, Disk to Digital would tell me I already had the movie - NO I DON'T. VUDU has never resolved the problem in over 5 weeks.
Answer: I would just stay away from vudu altogether. They are the worst company I have ever interacted with. I spent a lot of money on videos with them and I cannot watch any of them because the just buffer literally every 5 seconds and then I downloaded them through vudu to go and they won't play on there either. I keep getting a message that vudu cannot authenticate my account. I e-mailed customer services 3 times and have never received a response. I have wasted about $1000. 00 on movies that I cannot watch. I have started using amazon prime video and other sites as well and have no problems whatsoever. Just stay away from vudu they are just taking your money.
Answer: I have had nothing but problems with vudu. My opinion is just stay away and use another company. They are the worst. You will waste your money.
