We were watching a rented movie and it stopped because the rental period had expired. Now vudu says it failed to connect to network. What do we do?

"Why is it I have watched newer movies like "The Last Jedi",and the new "Top Gun", but your still charging extra for "Wonder Woman 1984" (2020)?
Is it safe for a new user to enter in their account info? Do they keep their promise about not charging you until you actually make a purchase/rental?
