Chase bank has partnered with Vroom. This is why I chose them to purchase my car. It seemed like everything was moving smoothly until I mailed my down payment. They lost a $5000. 00 cashiers check. I had to have the check canceled & reissued. This ordeal took a week and a half, because no one knew how to help. My husband is trying to buy a car for my son presently. He fulfilled all the requirements for Vroom to hold the car he selected, but they sold it anyway. This service is not good!
Paid $249 to hold an SUV, and after declining the Vroom Protection plans with my main salesperson, 10 minutes later I received another call of another salesperson, pushing and pushing. The push for this protection plan was so hard that at one moment, after saying "NO" multiple time, it felt like harassment.
Decided to cancel the buying of the SUV because of this event. Lost the $249 dollars! Many phone calls, email for my refund but no responses. Please be careful, honestly I can say Vroom is not a safe company to do business with.
Vroom offered me $1300. 00 for my Jeep commander 5.7 hemi in which I said I installed a new engine as well as a new transmission it is currently on Facebook marketplace for 9500 offering me $1300 was a joke on top of which they said they would pick up my car and pay me three days later by check are they kidding me don't use this company. I would give the company zero stars but that's not an option.
Vroom offered me $******* for my vehicle, which is less than half the trade in value. I couldn't believe it. A local dealership has offered me $*******. The process was rushed and the whole thing was crooked. Avoid at all costs
I purchased a car in September 2021. The car said it came with remote start on the main page when searching for a car. I paid for the car and received it but my fob did not have the option for remote. I let the company know and I sent them the screen shot of the car. Little did I know in the more in depth features remote start was not listed. I told them that was very misleading. They basically told me because the screen shot I sent them didn't show the vin # they could not take responsibility for the missing feature. So they called me a liar. So now I am going to leave this review anywhere I can, tell anyone I know not to go through vroom and never do business there again… for $260 that I was quoted for a new fob.

The simplest thing needed to be done, which is sending over a document to me. They requested a signature from co-buyer, yet haven't made any attempts to make sure email is correct, nor made sure that the "Docusign" is ready for signature! Now its my fault that they didn't ask for co-buyers email. Then after giving it to the representative from where-ever in the world, THEY GOT THE EMAIL WRONG. Been hearing "so sorry for the inconvenience" like a broken record... On hold for hours, called and emailed them so many times throughout this whole purchase... salesman was great. But after the numbers and signature, ghost. Would not recommend this company. Why would Cargurus support these clowns.
I would rather be at the dealership! This company will soon go out of business with their horrendous customer service. WHAT A JOKE.
Frustrating experience with selling a vehicle to Vroom
Warning to potential sellers: Vroom's process is:
1. You upload personal and vehicle information online
2. You FedEx your vehicle's title to Vroom
3. You wait for Vroom to pickup your vehicle (in my case, 10 days after they received my title, no contact what so ever)
4. Once they receive your vehicle, they have the option to offer your a lower price with whatever reason they think fit. If you don't agree, I was told by Vroom customer service that sellers have to pay for the vehicle return shipping costs.
5. If you decided not to go through the process due to the long wait time, it would be at Vroom's mercy to get your signed vehicle title back.
Be warned. It is not worth the trouble to deal with Vroom, even if they offer couple hundred dollars more than other car buying companies.
After purchasing the vehicle on 15 Dec i made several phone calls daily to get the paperwork corrected. The initial paperwork was send out quick but was incorrect and it took me weeks to get that worked out. Mind you they had my deposit and down payment. After getting that fiasco finally took care of then without them telling me again I had to make phone calls daily it was about the insurance card I uploaded. So fast forward to 28 Dec I finally got everything in line. Well I get an email from vroom saying my vehicle will be delivered 9 Jan "on or about". Today is 17 Jan and it's still not at the "last mile hub". Favorite phrases they will tell you. "24-48 hours, I created a high priority case for you, I'm sorry can I place you on hold just to come back and to tell you "ummm" and put you back on hold. My first payment is due 6 Feb and I still don't have a vehicle that I'm paying insurance for. Stay as far away as possible.
I would not recommend Vroom, it's like once they have your money to hold the car they slow down and drag there feet. The process is for every long lucky to see your car in 3 weeks. 6 days after agree to purchase and giving them $500 mandatory to hold waiting on contract to sign then 10-14 for delivery after that. Never would I do this vfc again.
If you want a great online experience definitely do not use vroom, go to carvana simple easy and great customer service I have been trying to get my issues with vroom resolved for 3 weeks now and all they do is transfer and transfer and no one calls you back the car was not as described on sight had issues tried to get them fixed no reply then tried to swap for a new vehicle no reply so then tried to return so can buy elsewhere still waiting for replies or call backs still have vehicle with 2 key fobs that door work and the gas tank door doesn't always open and no sunroof as described and shown in pic awful!
I purchased a car from Vroom. Wait... No I didn't. I donated 39k to Vroom obviously becaese it's been 3 weeks and supposedly they car is still in California. I'm in Chicago. This after they promised delivery in 10 to 14 days. Now nobody will respond or give me any information.
Do not, I repeat, do not buy from this company! They have the worst customer service that I have ever dealt with! A $26,000 vehicle was purchased from them, and they couldn't even give me a delivery date in writing! The day came and went, and the car is still not here! When customer service is called, I am put on hold for an hour, and then transferred to another rep, only to get the same ‘hold and transfer' all over again! This company sucks on their best day ever!
I bought a Tesla. Price was reasonable and appropriate. The delivery was made on a day when they were told we were not in town. The car was delivered dirty with undisclosed stains on seat and other defects. I requested compensation and it took them six weeks to respond after repeated emails and calls. They have still after 7 weeks not gotten me title to the car and are now extending temporary plate after I hounded them.
On the other hand, the car is great.
Absolutely no customer service. We have been utterly disappointed in the lack of customer service by Vroom. For four months we have been working thru their portals and customer service support and have received zero response. After following all of their requirements for purchase and receipt of an expensive Lexus, they have absolutely ignored our request for missing items from the car. At any price this company is not worth the aggravation.
I purchased a vehicle from vroom a couple months ago and that was quick and easy, the issue comes into play when I received the vehicle. Not only was it dirty in the inside and out the vehicle has issues with both the steering and brakes and I informed them about both immediately and definitely within the 7 day window. They said the would "buy back" the vehicle… I have not heard from them since. Worst experience ever! Terrible company!
Vroom is super quick and happy to get you to sign contracts and get you a vehicle... but it has now been over 4 MONTHS and I still don't have a Registration, an Inspection, plates or Title. And no one can answer where I can get my title. So now I can't even sell the car because I don't know who/where the title is! Customer service is anything BUT SERVICE. You get a different person every time, whether it is email or phone. I just want to get out of this altogether but of course, can't get anyone to answer any questions! Looks like I'm the idiot. Don't buy from VROOM! (although the delivery service was excellent).
Worst car dealer ever. Say goodby to your money and sanity. As a returning customer they treated me like crap and did not pay back my $249 deposit. They flipped or as they call it changed their policy on me, from the 2 months ago, when I purchased my first car and traded in another. They want me to provide insurance coverage for the car that's not in my position. No other car dealer does that. Even Carvana wants to verify that you have the coverage, when they deliver the car at your door. I have purchased several cars from Carmax and was never asked for such a thing. There are so many cars and car dealers out there. Why bother with a company that's only out there to screw people for their profit, only?
This company is terrible. I am seeing all types of complaints. When I call, they will not transfer me to a person who knows about my problem. They refuse after six months to provide me with a title and will not speak to me. No supervisors or accessable complaint department. Look them up. Florida has filed cases on them for failing to provide a title.
'James Nagy Purchaser of a Ford.
I just received a 2019 Audi with the check engine light on and the gear lever not moving. They are not willing to fix the issue and will not refund the $499.00 delivery fee. Buyer be ware apparently you need more than a phone and a finger.
Signed a contract with vroom, they found an issue with the car they were selling and said they could not sell the car. We asked for the $249 deposit back as they had no other cars we were interested in and have so far been denied twice stating the deposit is non-refundable. We were not told it was non-refundable and they have not delivered on anything except for creating incredible frustration and stress due to their unethical business practices.
Answer: I got a good offer and my car is 2 years old and in better than average shape. In fact they offered 1400. 00 more than the local dealer, more than Carmax or Carvanna. Then I read reviews, the BBB and received the contract. In there point #7, they said they have the right to adjust the price and do not pay out until they inspect the car. Called and canceled the contract before it got any further. In this day and age I decided if I'm going to sell something I need to look at the person face to face. VROOM holds too many unknowns.
Answer: Don't trust them! Can't handle simple matters as honoring a deposit.
Answer: Awful. I have been waiting for a month and still don't have our deal done yet due to their disorganization and expiring their offer on my trade in, so now I have to start all over again with that process - which, by the way, was part of the reason I chose to buy from them!
Answer: Yes, wait and wait and wait and wait. Be smart, walk away from these people
Answer: Then go ahead and sell it! They do not force you to buy a car!
Answer: They are a bait and switch company! Truly what's on the internet is not always true! If it seems to good to be true? Probably to good to be true!
Answer: I wouldn't do it. Everything in my experience with them has been painful and fishy! I still don't have my deal done yet after a month!
Vroom's reputation is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily due to prolonged service delays and inadequate communication once transactions are completed. Customers frequently report issues with document processing, payment delays, and difficulties in obtaining vehicle registration and titles. While some positive experiences highlight effective sales interactions, these are overshadowed by widespread complaints regarding unresponsive customer service and perceived dishonesty. The overall sentiment suggests that while Vroom may attract customers with competitive pricing, the post-sale support and operational efficiency require substantial improvement to enhance customer trust and satisfaction.
