I normally don't write reviews but I get tired of companies using every excuse to not deliver their products and have bad customer service. I'd give NO stars for Vitacost if I could! I've waited weeks for a box of simply items and still waiting then just today after another round of excuses as to why I've not yet received my order I get an email from Vitacost saying one of the items I ordered weeks ago and they had said was on its way is out of stock. Yet they took my payment weeks ago and also I paid for shipping! Bad customer service and horrible excuse for a company in my opinion and I will never order from them again.
I have been a loyal Vitacost customer for at least 15 years. Today was the final straw -- I received an order with two liquid items (coconut milk) completely demolished, soaking the package and destroying everything else in the order. After spending an hour cleaning up this mess, I tossed everything that was destroyed out and contacted Vitacost for a whopping refund of $5.00. Get this: no picture, no refund. I explained to the customer service person that everything was in the dumpster, and she said 'no photo, no refund.' My response was: after spending thousands of dollars with your company, you want me to go to the dumpster to take a photo?' No thanks. I'll never order anything from them again. I hope this review steers any potential customers away from this company. They do not value their loyal customers.
They cancelled one item from our order that turned out to be out of stock. However, they did not credit the full amount of the charge back, for no obvious reason. I communicated a number of times by email and attempted to call unsuccessfully, and they did nothing.
In addition, one item was shipped in a bag with no cushioning and it arrived totally smashed, while two other items were left off the shipment entirely with no explanation and no credit. STAY AWAY!
The occasion of this review was a failed (international, so not so easy) delivery. It required some prompting and pushing on my part, but I received a reasonably timely refund. No real complaints there...
Otherwise, I have been ordering from Vitacost for years. They have a good selection of supplements and good prices. The only thing that stands between Vitacost and five stars is the vast quantity of spam e-mail they send. You probably do not want to register with your main e-mail account.
I've ordered from this company for about 20 years and shipping has always been rather quick. I had always received my items within 3 or 4 days, now it's a week or more. Also, since Kroger has taken ownership, you have to watch the expiration dates on the products. I've received some items that were past or close to the expiration date.
I'm about over Vitacost. Without fail, I will place a $100+ order at full price and just after it ships they send me a $15 off $100 email or a bogo email, (either only valid for 2 days), knowing I just ordered and won't need to re-order. This happens literally every month right after my order ships... I just see it as a shady practice, tempted to give someone else my business even if it cost a few bucks more.
I am extremely disappointed with the services provided by Vitacost Not only was their customer service unreachable, but the phone number listed on the PayPal transaction was working only for new orders option. This made it incredibly difficult for me to address the issues I was facing (never receivedthe order) I hope the company takes steps to improve its accessibility and customer support in the future.
Let the buyer beware. Scrutinize their products closely. For over a decade I bought most of my high lignan flaxseed oil from them. Their price was the best and their quality acceptable. The offer disappeared for awhile. Now it's back at the same price. I bought it but noticed a considerable drop-off in quality when I consumed it. Then I looked more closely. Now they label it as "flax oil" and they're mixing with sunflower oil and powdered lignan. I could get my money back probably, but I destroyed the box and shredded the bill because I trusted them. I just donated it. For free it's all right, but I don't want it. WATCH OUT FOR THEM
This company hits all the high points i. E. the ones mentioned in the subject line. Their prices are very good, but what also differentiates them is that, unlike iHerb and AllStarHealth, their packaging is 100% environmentally friendly. Kudos. See the attached image of my order from this week.
I just love Clearly Natural Aloe Vera liquid (and bar soap).
It is priced well at $3.99 per bottle and sold in health food stores as well as places like BB&B, Home Depot and the like.
Its scent is fresh and clean... and the bottle looks stylish in kitchen or bathroom.
I do see some poor reviews here... but do not confuse a five star product with human ineptitude from some mail-order warehouse.
An array of scents is offered... but I stick with aloe vera.
Five lovely stars.
Spent two hrs putting items that showed up on website, it went trough and I even got charged. I received an email for delivery date and tracking. After few days Vitacost I for me trough email that 19 items out of 20 is out of stock. Huh?
They sending me only a can of coconut creamer for now.
I had plans to bake and cook for the weekend. They ruined my plan.
Vitacost if you don't have the stuff why you put it on website and why you allow people to waste their time. Are you going out of business?
I've been buying $50-60 of food every 1-2 months from Vitacost.com for several years. Their prices are competitive, they have a good and reliable selection, good customer communication, fast and reliable shipping. I'm a satisfied customer and often recommend to friends. Also appreciate their frequent discounts.
Haven't been able to reach anyone from vitacost.com or the company they used to ship my order. Their site is now conveniently experiencing "technical difficulties" when I attempt to use the Contact Us as well...

When you have an issue with a company you've spent thousands of dollars with over several years, you expect your problem to be adequately resolved. This was the first issue we've had. They do have a 60 day return or refund policy. We've ordered this product in lots of 6 and only open the small box when a bottle is used up. The sealed bottle in a sealed box of Liddell Vital Age Defiance spray was empty. CS response "Well, I guess you'll open the boxes next time, won't you?" Vitacost is owned by Kroger. We will no longer do business with them. We've reported them to the BBB and are contacting their corporate office in Boca Raton. It's just a $26 dollar item, but I'll bet there are thousands of folks out there who are being ripped off. Don't do business with them. At the least... open every single box you receive.
Vitacost.com has almost every brand of vitamin, supplement, healthy snacks and even found an amazing healthy protein coffee creamer there called Ripped Cream! Shipping is always free with a $50 order and I usually get my order within 2-3 days! Love them!@
This site is a total scam. Stay away from it!
On their site, they claim "Order by 1 p.m. & receive your order in 3 days!*". However, I placed my order, and they still have not shipped out after 48 hours, even though I paid for upgraded shipping!
Their "online chat" is broken and does not allow you to enter text on Safari or Chrome. The customer service line has such a long wait. I would never use them again.
I've been ordering lotion, shampoo, essential oil, bar soap, lip balm and supplements from Vitacost for about 2 years. Their products are usually less expensive than brick & mortar stores, their service is great and the shipping is fast! They really do take great care in packing your order - all my orders have arrived in perfect condition, with no dents or leaks!
I have been buying products from Vitacost for 8 years and find their customer service to be excellent. Shipping is super fast and they have a variety of high-quality organic foods at reasonable prices.
Kroger and their dishonest business practice is running Vitacost into the ground.
Absolutely piss poor customer service.
Dishonest coupon offers!
Disgraceful operation.
You are better off getting your supplements at any other supplement provider.
Vitacost since Kroger is no longer what it used to be. SHAME!
I have tried five times to call Vitacost customer service about an issue with an order and after holding on long times (average of 20 minutes and being told countless times that how a customer service rep would be with me right away), I got disconnected each time before reaching anyone! I tried live chat three times during open chat hours and never could get anyone to even come onto the chat. I have emailed (3 days back) and gotten no reply as yet. I will not order again from this company.
I gave two not one star because I was for the part satisfied with products and availability of items on previous orders. But this current issue, which involves the use of effective, current coupon codes has caused the loss of significant discounts due me.
Answer: Yes they sell brand names and reputable products. They may not sell everything though depending on what you're looking for. I couldn't find the product I wanted anywhere other than through Vitacost so I was quite impressed.
Answer: Can't see it online, only on actual product if ordered
Answer: They sell the reputable Thorne brand recommended by wiser MD's and not available in vitamin shops, retail pharmacies or food stores
Answer: There is a money-back guarantee on all of the products they sell. Often, you will be given a refund without even having to return a product. They really are the best in the business when it comes to customer satisfaction.
