The overall reputation of the company is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, particularly regarding its customer service and support mechanisms. Many users report a lack of effective communication and responsiveness, with automated replies dominating interactions. Concerns about fraudulent activities and inadequate buyer protection are prevalent, leading to financial losses for both buyers and sellers. While some customers appreciate the platform's user interface and initial successful transactions, these positives are overshadowed by the overwhelming sentiment of frustration and distrust, indicating a pressing need for improvements in customer service and policy enforcement.

Avoid at all cost,I have sold multiple designers items and didn't get paid, one time I used different shipping method(I didn't thought it against the law to do so),so once buyer received item and left positive review they refunded buyer.
Another time I have sent designer jeans, meanwhile vinted blocked(no idea why, they just say illicit activity without explanation.
Customer service is appalling, they keep saying the same thing as unfortunately that's the way it is,the owe me around 170£,and got blame and blocked for nothing
Customers can keep the items and keep their money if they don't accept that they have received there item. Stupid site! People also give false information about items. I brought an vampire diaries phone case and it didn't fit the phone that it was meant to ( it said it was an iPhone 11) I own an iPhone 11 and I was told it isn't the " real iPhone 11" disappointed and will never use again!
Extremely unhelpful customer service
I sent a CD with special collector's edition bits (lyric booklet, collectable cards etc) and during delivery, the CD case got cracked but the customer confirmed the CS was not broken. However, Vinted decided to refund the client (fair) and leave me WITH ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. They allowed the client to keep the parcel AND refused to refund me anything! On top of that, the client had the audacity to refuse the return saying she ''technically paid for it'', even though she was issued a refund which I was notified of as well.
For a cracked CD case, I lost out on the collectable items as well as the payment, and when I tried to contest the decision, Vinted (Habib) turned me down multiple times saying the parcel wasn't packed well, but they never showed proof of that! I know how I packed the CD, this was not my first CD order, it was in layers of wrapping and a sturdy cardboard envelope, god knows what packaging their client took the photos in to make a case.
Absolutely disappointed in the company and its customer service.
Vinted are committing Fraud and stealing money that is owed to me. Please! Do not use this site!
Upon successfully using this site to sell a jumper and having no issues selling or receiving the money I made, I decided to sell another item a few months later.
I sold the item for £60 but could not transfer the mony from my vinted account into my bank account. I contacted the "contact page" and reported my problem. Vintd replied stating that I had to fill out a form which they sent me a link for and asked that i send it back to them. The first issue is the form you fill out is a file type that is not supported to be sent back via the Vinted messsage board they use. I then had to take screen shots and send the complted form back via a picture file.
Vinted got back to me and said the images were blurred (See image I have attached that was sent to Vinted as part of the form and you will see it is not blurred) and to send it again. I found this odd as they were not blurred when I checked them. Anyway i did it again, checked the images again, which were all perfect and sent them.
Vinted sent me the same message, i clicked on the images in our shared message board, what I see on messages is what vinted see. The images were in no way blurred. I messaged vinted asking why they were saying this and from this point I have sent them the images at least 8 times to the point now they are being so obstructional that they pretend that I have not even sent the images and talk out of context and not even referring to the last message sent.
It is very clear this is a tactic to rip customers off. The fact they have been obstructional and now my only recourse is writing a complaint and having to mail it Slovakia or somewhere. Please, if the possibility of you not getting your money because of fraudulent practices I would stongly suggest that you do not use this site.
Vinted sent me a label which I used to post off my boots, it went to the wrong recipient they have done nothing about getting my boots back I am now out of pocket
Pathetic. Account blocked with no actual reason given. Appeals takes 120 hrs to revive a response which is far too long as there is no other lines of customer service. No transparency on complaints been impossible to launch one. Crap
Despite reporting scam sellers, vinted still supports them. There are sellers selling items from DHgate at over £100 that are fake and only cost £2 or £3 buy from China. I reported a seller selling cheap Shein items claiming they were genuine 925 with gemstones with hugely inflated prices, Vinted said this was not violating their terms and conditions, so they support these scammers. Be careful what you buy, as Vinted as an organisation does not care
I recently had a frustrating experience with Vinted that I feel compelled to share. After purchasing an item that turned out to be fake, I decided to list it back on Vinted with full transparency, clearly marking it as a replica and explaining in detail why I believed it wasn't genuine. To my surprise, instead of cracking down on the sellers peddling counterfeit goods, Vinted chose to block my account and restrict my access to the platform.
It's disheartening to see countless scammers continue to operate freely while honest users like myself face repercussions for trying to maintain integrity within the community. Vinted's response to fraudulent activity is not only inadequate but also unfair, as they punish victims by making them foot the bill for return shipping costs.
While Vinted can be a great platform when dealing with honest sellers, it's essential to be cautious. If you're comfortable with the risk of being scammed or exploiting others, then Vinted might be suitable for you. However, if you value honesty and fairness, I recommend steering clear of Vinted altogether.
In light of my experience, I strongly advise considering alternatives such as eBay, which provides robust protections for both buyers and sellers, making it a much safer option for purchasing preloved items or anything else second-hand.
Vinted is running some kind of split test. Some users can make lower offers, and others can't. I'm a regular user and buyers can get over 40% off the items I sell but I can only get up to 20% off as a buyer. I approached vinted customer service, and they told me that it's a bug and it's being investigated. I politely asked more questions about when it will be fixed and got a lot of rude responses from customer service before finally getting in touch with someone who apologised and said that they cannot discuss the internal processes, but be assured that this is NOT a bug. I can't get access to higher discounts but they can't disclose why. Dishonest and unfair.
Vinted absolutely do not resolve the dispute fairly. I received a torn jacket. Paid $16 for shipping. I had to buy shipping label myself and spend another $16. It's clearly the seller's fault, but I have to pay for it! I sent photos and proof but they did not resolve the dispute in my favor!
Do yourself a favour and do not sell on Vinted. I had such a bad experience selling on this platform. I advertised a wall hanging and they blocked my account. I can never speak to anyone because all you get is an automated message.
Bought a dress with buyer protection. Vinted blocked seller due to fake items. Seller put dress on another account. I sent proof to Vinted who did not remove it. Asked for refund. Vinted said I hadn't paid! I have receipt! Sent to them. Will report to Trading Standards. Terrible company.
I have been using Vinted for over 2 years and it has been working well. Last year they started imposing "protection fee" on every transaction; yet, I do not find it is protecting the buyers at all. I had a parcel which claimed to have been delivered by Yodel, but the courier only left the parcel outside my front door on a Main Street in Marylebone (when I was not home). Someone must have taken it and Yodel also admitted they were at fault. However, Vinted said the system showed parcel was delivered and funds had been released to seller, so there was NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT IT. It is ridiculous as they are now refusing to re-open the case and give me back the money even though Yodel already said it was their problem.
It is a complete potluck with Vinted - at the end my bank helped me out with this but buyers, just remind yourself your do not get any support from Vinted at all.
Oh boy where do I start. I created my account and for a few hours I browsed their catalog favoring things to check out later in the day and finally make a purchase. I suddenly got temporarily restricted. Then, not being able to message any sellers I kept on browsing.
Just a few hours later I got permanently banned for no apparent reason since I didn't do anything against their ToS (which I've read). I immediately appealed and even emailed them asking for the reasons, simply stating that I couldn't have possibly acted against their ToS since I was only checking things out and messaging some sellers about the condition of their books (pretty normal to ask for the condition of an item you are about to buy).
A few hours later I got a quite stern generic email reply basically saying I shouldn't contact them about the same issue again, and I should wait for the appeal's resolution.
Then I received a message inside the vinted website informing me they will stick to the original decision. I was given no reasons, no terms that I violated nothing.
I have never gotten banned from a website in my life. I'm always acting according to the rules. And I still have no idea what I did wrong since they never actually let me know.
At this point I'm taking my money elsewhere and from what I've read online I'm not the only one. There are so many complains about irresponsible behavior from the "customer support" team and about unreasonable banning but mine takes the cake.I did literally nothing but browse and ask for item details. And all I got was a generic email reply telling me to f off. Not once did I feel like the company cared to even look at the issue. Maybe they've let bots to run the company in order to not hire people.
Please be careful when using Vinted. I have just sold a very expensive handbag through their site and put that I would only sell it if it went through their item verification team to protect buyer and me. Sent it off and was told that my item had failed verification, this item is one thousand percent a genuine item. I have dealt in high end bags for many years and abhor fakes, not withstanding I have the original invoice and receipt from where it was purchased. I have been completely blanked by their robots and had one from customer service tell me that they would be keeping my bag and I could appeal the decision within 6 months. This is just theft and there is no appeal button. When things go wrong on Vinted the level of customer service received is so substandard, backward and shoddy my 5 year old grandson could do a far superior job. If they decide your item doesn't pass there verification please be aware you won't get your item back and you will be blanked. Don't do it. I'm £2500 down and will still have to continue to pay the rest off my credit card and not have the bag.
BEWARE VINTED BUYERS! I recently made a purchase for $150 on Vinted. They give the seller 7 days to ship the item and 2 days for the buyer to respond whether or not they accept the item. My item never came. The tracking number was sent with another person's name to another address and I have proof because the USPS provided that information and I went to the address where the package was sent and it was not dolls. 13 of them to be precise. This is a seller who didn't respond quickly which should have been my first red flag, had a random name spelled with random letters. Vintage will do nothing to look into this. I never received my item because it was never sent. The only thing support needs to do is to check the label that they provided to the seller and they would see that there are no labels with my name or address on it. But they refuse and they refuse to give me a refund. I have since spotted many other sellers with random names like this, who only have one item for sale and no reviews. I don't do business this way and Vinted you should not either! They must be in on the scam. I blame Vinted for this because they should have caught the fact that the label didn't match the buyers name or address or the contents of the package! This Seller had nothing else for sale when I made my purchase so there is no way he could have shipped anything out except for my dolls!
Shipping is extremely expensive, rules very silly, and the customer service appalling. Not worthy for something cheap and definitely wouldn't trust for something expensive.
I contacted the customer service as the seller wrote the package was returned to her. Useless customer service just said I was out of the 2 days window to report a issue - although this 2 days should start from the moment the item was received
Never again - will delete my account
This is one is of the worst web site ever, especially for customer support. They ask pic of the credit card, bank statement etc because they suspend account without a reason…it's months I'm getting back and forth with them and they are never satisfied. Now I understand why they have horrible reviews everywhere
This company gave my buyer a refund of £45 as she said the package arrived empty. After many emails with them the say they won't pay me. 6 weeks of me emailing them and them saying they were investigating but never contacted Evri, just accepted photos from buyer. I'm absolutely fuming, they have stolen my money
Answer: Well you can't. You need to do your homework when asking questions to a seller. Request additional pictures too. The seller never has access to your money until you "receive" and accept the items. So if you get a designer item you have questions about take it to your nearest high-end consignment. If you find the item is not real simply let CS know under the accepting. Tell them what the problem is. More likely than not you will get a return request label. Just send it back and all your money if refunded. On Poshmark all items over $500 are automatically sent to a Posh center to be authenticated before its sent to you. The best way to know your getting the real deal is buy from again a local high-end consignment or an online that specializes in only a few brands rather than any. It takes a lot of training to become an expert on authentication.
