Be careful
August 21, 2024

This review comes from a user who is both a customer and a seller. Overall I applaud the concept, however, the whole Vinted business model is just so defective in so many ways. 1.Starting with customer service, i'm not sure up to this date, I have ever spoke with a human in any of my interactions with them. You will usually get the same automated messages, with no personality, and most of the times you have to reach out regarding the same problem several times as the actual problem doesn't get solved. Reporting fraudulent users or content can be hard at times and in some cases they won't take any action despite reporting a counterfeit item for example, as the product passed an initial automatic review.
2. The amount of counterfeit items on this platform baffles me, despite their terms and conditions plus the not to mention the legal requirements. Everyday I see tons of new counterfeit items making their way on the platform and I can't see any efforts from their side to stop this, despite numerous efforts and reports from my side alone.
On the other hand, original products, that i personally bought and provided with proof of purchase were taken down and I was unable to sell it on the platform because they believed it was counterfeit, despite all and any proof I provided.
All on one, fake items are approved for sale, but original items are being taken down, now that's what I call great business.
3. App crashes and bugs happen quite often. Also some of their campaigns are rigged and despite reporting these issues, no resolution will be given, no action will be taken.
4. Some of the delivery companies they work with sould be of the marker to begin with, thanks to their horrible customer service, and despite Vinted having all the data/report/complains they don't seem to care, but will rather hold the delivery company side if your parcel gets damaged or lost in transit. Also, the compensation in case of damage/loss is ridiculously low and in most of the cases doesn't cover the full amount but pennies compared with the actual product value, so if you sell something valuable on Vinted, you'd better pray.
5. In some cases the product uploading process can really take 48 hours (which I find absurd) but nevertheless, if a few days later you want to change one detail such as the price on that product you will be met with the same check again, despite the product being accepted once, and having to wait another 48 hours for the product to be back online is just a joke.
6. The reviews part of things can be really unfair at times. To talk facts, if you have a product that is well described with all the issues presented in your add, including pictures with the defects, it would be unfair for the buyer to give you 1 star because the product he received was defective, since all those defects were pointed and presented in the add to begin with. If you start a dispute in such a case, the customer service won't do much to help you, as I stated earlier it's hard for robots to be human.
7. I have recently approached their customers service asking about one of their curent campaigns, as I was eligible but wasn't given the "badge", and after many back and forth messages, I was accused of "fraudulent activity", reason why I wasn't eligible. When asking for proof or meaning of this so called "fraudulent activity" thay responded with "unfortunately this must be our final decision" without providing any proof to their harsh accusations. I have reached out to their legal department immediately as I was very offended by these accusation but didn't hear anything from them yet. This would be the second email send to their legal department and since they didn't bother to reply to my first email I don't expect them to answer my last one.

These are my experiences with Vinted so far in about 4/5 months of using it, and despite being a good initiative, it's faulty on so many levels...

AVOID Vinted – NO PROTECTION & TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
July 30, 2024

AVOID Vinted – NO PROTECTION & TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

Having previously purchased vintage items from Ebay, I thought that I would give Vinted a try. What a HUGE MISTAKE I made.

Purchased 2 shirts from one seller and also paid for Vinted's obligatory "Buyer Protection"

The shirts were delivered – but not to my address!

Checked out the "proof of delivery" online, only to find that my items had been delivered to someone with a WHITE doorway, that was not mine, whilst my doorway is BROWN.

Contacted the seller, who did not want to know and became quite aggressive, basically leaving me to try and sort it out for myself.

So I contacted Vinted "customer service" who then required me to message them with a long long list of particulars that must already have been easy to find on their system.

Additionally, I provided the so called "proof of delivery" photo to the WHITE doorway that was not mine, together with photos of my house and BROWN doorway.

The photos could not have been clearer – items delivered to a WHITE door – not my door – my door BROWN.

Following my submission of this information, I received a string of messages from Vinted asking me to provide further proof that I did not receive the items.

The next thing Vinted "customer service" do is to email me a form that needs PRINTING off and sending back to them, but I have NO WORKING PRINTER.

Vinted "helpfully" inform me of the following:-

"Please note that members who don't have printers at home usually print the label at their university or office. Otherwise, they visit their local library to print. You can always check out your local office supply store. They often offer printing services too."

However, I am over 70 and in poor physical health – one reason I buy online and have items delivered to me.

The latest "customer service" suggestion is that I now do not need to do any of the above things at all – so why ask me in the first place?

Instead, now Vinted want me to take an email attachment and run it through not one, but two separate items of third party software, that they have provided links to, so that I can then be in a position to send this form back to them.

Regarding the additional software, Vinted expect me to work with, I have never heard of these companies before and would not dream of risking a virus infecting my computer.

In conclusion - Vinted's "customer service" primary role is to frustrate you from making any sort of legitimate claim on their "Buyer Protection" that you have purchased from them.

Check out other reviews about Vinted – It is all too clear.

Life is far too short to deal with these sorts of companies, so as regards Vinted – AVOID AVOID AVOID – You have been warned.

TERRIBLE
July 1, 2024

I downloaded the Vinted app i signed up with all my details including address and bank details in line with Vinteds T&C's.

I purchased a few items feeling safe to do so due to their Buyers protection that is added on with a fee but I was happy to pay it.

A few minutes later 3 accounts I just bought off were blocked causing me some degree of anxiety

I decided to join up to a few Vinted groups on Facebook to ask for some advice with one user saying if the seller hasn't marked it as sent go ahead and cancel the order which will trigger a refund so I did but no more than a minute later I got a message saying my account has been temporarily blocked and no more than 5 minutes later I got another message from Vinted saying my account has been blocked indefinitely…

I contact customer support asking why but without reason the Vinted Lady called Nesser stated they stick to their decision and my account will remain blocked indefinitely.

I have had contact with a number of customer support which all ultimately came to the decision I am to remain blocked indefinitely with no reasons given even though in vinteds T&C's it states that Vinted will give a reason for their decision which they have not done, the closest I got to an explanation was from an email I got a few minutes ago saying my account has been blocked for "safety" reasons which seems very vague.

I read the entirety of Vinteds Terms and conditions and have sent them an email with every point highlighting how I haven't broke any rules weather it be posting illegal stuff ( I've never posted anything on Vinted making this impossible) to owning duplication accounts ( which I do not)

I have had contact with all these people over 2 days which I will name now
Nessa
Syrine
Olisa
Ed
Khaoula

Nessa replied to my first request for help but I received a generic reply stating I have been Blocked indefinitely for probable fraud

Which is insane considering all I done was sign up and paid for some items.

She didn't leave me anyway to reply to her so I had to open a new case.

We will skip to Ed who again even though I had explained everything to once again still came back and said he can't unblock my account due to it being a safety risk… I mean wow.

At the time of writing this it's been 3 days of to and throws with not one customer service person looking into the case properly, it seems after the first person Nessa deemed me a probable fraud the rest toed the line not going against their colleague not caring that this whole situation is completely insane!

At this point I'm still not even sure I'll get all my money back which is shocking considering all I was trying to do was be a customer I see items I liked and I paid right away then before I know it I'm blocked being accused of being a fraud.

All I can say is if I was a fraud I would be terrible at it you know. Actually paying for the items I bought and all. Yeh how dare I actually pay!

Just beware when joining Vinted that this can happen and they do not care if you have been wrongly convicted as a fraud by their AI they will stick together and treat you like a criminal for simply sticking to the rules.

Lastly this whole situation has caused me a lot of stress and anxiety being accused of being a fraud and second the stress of losing my money through no fault of my own, I have lost hours and hours of my life writing up emails and replying and even now at 12:50am writing this review because it's the last thing I can do as no one is listening at Vinted.

Vinted sold a fake item, admitted it was fake and refused to refund
December 24, 2023

I bought Ami hoodie new with a tag through Vinted but decided to resell it right away because it was too big and was no use for me. They removed the item from sale saying it's a replica (after i provided all the photos of the tags, closeups etc) and asked me not to upload it again because it is not allowed. So the site sold me a counterfeit, took my money and after that issued me a warning for trying to sell a counterfeit item. I am absolutely shocked how they just left me with a problem after they cashed the profit.

Here is their latest reply after they closed my claim to wich i can no longer reply:
We regularly moderate item listings throughout the day, so occasionally some items might get sold before we have a chance to remove them. Your item is not allowed for sale on our platform, because the authenticity could not be proven.
Even if the item was bought on Vinted, we would like to ask you not to upload it again. We're strict about complying with trademark and anti-counterfeiting laws, so no replicas, reproductions, illegal or counterfeit items may be listed.
We have warned the seller about this, and if it happens again, their account will be blocked.
We apologize for not being quick enough to remove the listing in the first place, and we're working on improving our speed in listing moderation.
Merry Christmas!
Daria || Team Vinted

Merry Christmas to them too!

PS earlier they blocked my profile stating i was selling a fake item. I had hundreds of 5 star review and they didnt even bither verifying or asking for more pictures, just blocked. I spent a lot of time and effort to prove it was genuine, they unblocked afterwards but its been several months since i hardly sold anything so reduced my visibility by most likely my profile on the black list. And now when i tried to buy smth it was fake for real and they dont do anything to help me out. Im contacted a credit company for chargeback and will most likely l delete my profile- it is more of stress than fun lately and their support is very unhelpful when there is a problem. I have been on both sides- as a seller and a buyer- they dont take sides, they just cash the profit.

Vinted Support trying to SCAM users for their FULL CARD DETAILS!
September 7, 2023

Vinted Support trying to scam users for their card details! SCAM ALERT!

In order to change my phone number since their site doesn't work and gives an error message when doing so, apparently Vinted needs your full card details INCLUDING the CVV code to "verify" it's you.

First, they asked me for a screenshot of a purchase I've made from Vinted on my bank statement, I gave it blurring everything else out.
Apparently, that wasn't enough, so they then needed more verification.

They then proceeded to ask for a photo of my card. I sent a screenshot of my card on my account (only showed last 4 digits and my Full Name registered on Vinted) thinking that would be enough. It wasn't.

I was then asked for a photo of my card.
By this point I'm getting severely creeped out as I already done 2 verification processes to obviously verify it was me just as they stated.

I took a piece of paper to cover the sensitive information, leaving my name, last 4 digits and expiration date visible. Thinking that should do the trick, I was SHOCKED when I was then asked for my FULL CARD DETAILS by a rep from Vinted support!
So in order to change your phone number on Vinted (keep in mind, I have access to my number on file, just wanted to change it to another one but their site is glitched if you read reviews on changing phone numbers) you have to go through 3 verification processes they do not tell you about making you think it's only ONE (they make you think it's 1 at first, then ask for 2, then 3!)

I truly don't understand why they expect anyone to be that stupid, to give their full card details in order to verify a person, on the account that is messaging them from their account, that still has access to their original number, who already supplied their previous verification methods)

I 100% know this was a scam by their reps and my card would've started getting unauthorized charges immediately if I had done so. Their site needs to be shut down! I immediately removed my card from their site, requested a new card to be safe right after, and am awaiting my orders to be completed before deleting the account. This was 100% a scam to steal my information!

I reported the rep, then was gave a generic message back stating "they took care of it" as if they aren't in on it too!

Tip for consumers:

Their site is absolutely 100% a SCAM to steal users card information!

Wanted me to "reverify," wouldn't accept phone numbers, refused to help, lost item already bought
March 8, 2023

This is about the fourth message I sent to Vinted to attempt to rectify the situation. You will see here exactly what happened, though after this message was sent, my second purchase was cancelled, so I lost out on one of only two things I bought from this company. They have outright refused to respond, even though I have contacted them through multiple places and explained that I have no problem verifying my account a second time, but I don't know why they won't accept my phone number. My number of perfectly legitimate, I use it for both business and personal calls and have had it almost two years through T-Mobile's business accounts. Here is the final(probably 4th) message I sent to Vinted, which they ignored along with all the others:

"This is my final attempt to rectify this situation. I made two purchases and was then hit with a warning about "suspicious activity." I suppose the suspicious activity of making purchases through your service? I asked what the "suspicious activity" was, you won't tell me. You want a phone number to confirm - I have provided two of them and you won't accept either of them. Do you REALLY think I'm going to go out and purchase a new phone in the hopes that you'll accept whatever number I get? You expect me to buy a new phone line just to spend money on second hand clothing? I've contacted you multiple times and you have flat refused to help me in any way. You've only told me to provide a new phone number - I DON'T HAVE ONE. If my T-Mobile phone number isn't good enough for you then I don't know what to tell you at this point, I'm sure not going to buy a new phone or install a new line just for your store(and which you will more than likely arbitrarily deem "invalid" with no explanation, as you've done twice now).

The saddest part is, I have a seller, whom I made a purchase through, sending me messages, and I CAN'T REPLY because your company randomly decided that me buying from you was "suspicious" and my legitimate phone numbers are "invalid." You know, the same phone numbers associated with the credit card that you had no problem running? So I have NO IDEA what this seller is saying to me or if it's important, because I can't see messages because your company is pulling this random stunt.

Amazing how you have no issue pulling money from my card but you have an issue with everything else. Funny how that works.

At this stage this is my last attempt to reconcile this (rather ridiculous) problem. As a newer company somewhat struggling for membership, driving people off for no reason, and refusing to even give a reason, after a single purchase is a rather odd business strategy. Even odder since you certainly don't need legal trouble at this time, and if I find any issues with my card, and do not recieve the items I paid for, I will be filing reports with the FTC, FCC, BBB, and possibly consulting a lawyer.

All I've asked is for you to either verify the valid number I'm using, or offer some explanation as to what the issue is. At this stage, I have contacted you at least three times through three different places, and you have staunchly refused to offer any assistance on the matter, simply reiterating that my purchases were suspicious and that you need a phone number. The fact that I provided two numbers which were refused for no given reason was never addressed."

Tip for consumers:

Why are you going to put yourself through this? Don't use Vinted.

Products used:

I purchased two t-shirts when they arbitrarily decided my second purchase was "suspicious." The second got cancelled AFTER payment because I could not go onto their site to "reverify" due to them not accepting my perfectly valid phone number.

Overall Pretty Good App
April 5, 2022

I've been using the app since 2019 when the whole pandemic hit. I personally like the app, it's way better than eBay which I've used previously to sell goods. The fact that you get to keep the money you make is great. However, some buyers just do not know how to read. I have described all my listings as clearly as possible. I sell vintage items that normally have signs of use as they are old. I get bombarded with questions that are usually answered within the descriptions themselves and somehow I'm being rude when I tell them to read the descriptions? There is nothing wrong with asking questions that are not answered in the description, but when someone asks way too many questions most of the time they will not buy your item. So my top tip is to leave the people who ask a lot of questions alone. As well as people who have no reviews and look like they made a brand new account. I've never really been scammed by a buyer, I can say that I've been pretty lucky. The worst thing that a buyers have done was say that their package has been lost, but when I contact Vinted they tell me that they have collected it. Luckily in these situations Vinted does help and release payments to me. Some buyers that do not read descriptions clearly when they buy an item with flaws and complain once they receive their items, that has always been a pain. Sometimes I have lost money due to this issue but it's never been a lot. The other issue I have is with the couriers themselves. Sometimes they manage to lose packages or damage items and it affects me as a seller. Vinted has no seller protection, which at this point I'd gladly pay. I wish that whenever I bump my account it would also pay for the seller protection, that's the least they could do. Buyer protection is a joke in itself, most of the time Vinted is on the buyers side. I think that when buyers don't read an accurate listing properly and then receive their items just as described and they want to send it back it is their job to do so. As a seller that is honest and has nearly 1,000 good reviews, I will not be paying for the return unless I know that I am in the wrong. That has happened a few times and I will admit to it. However when buyers go out their way to find a problem with an item that was described correctly just because they don't like it, I do have a problem with it. I have encountered some horrible sellers that have scammed me, I normally buy bundles when I shop for myself and if I have a problem with one item I don't like how I'm told by Vinted to send the entire bundle back. I wish sellers were more willing to accept that they did not describe their items well and give partial refunds on PayPal. I've had way more issues as a buyer than as a seller. That is because when I sell I do everything to be as honest as I can. But the problem is some sellers just don't do that. That's the reality. They want to make a profit and they don't care how they're going to do that.
Vinted support has been good and bad at the same time. They can be helpful but most of the time they just don't understand. I wouldn't necessarily call them scammers, the one app I would call a scam is eBay. Personally I've had the worst time as a seller and a buyer on eBay than Vinted. I've lost way more money on that app. The thing to remember is that no matter what app you're trying to sell or buy on there will be scammers. I wouldn't say that Vinted is the worst tho. But if you don't want to be scammed then go to a charity shop where you can see in real life what you're about to buy. Online shopping in general is a pain. All I have to say is be careful when buying and selling an item no matter which platform your doing it on.

Tip for consumers:

Be careful when buying, make sure to read the sellers reviews to see if they are trustworthy
As a seller be honest about every listing, provide all information in the description

I was a seller on Vinted. After abou a year my payouts just stopped reaching my bank. Beware!.
January 8, 2022

First off I would not give Vinted even one star they do not deserve it!
I was a seller on Vinted and I was doing great making a good deal of money, after about a year
I sent my money earned called payouts to my bank. I never had any problem before this. Well I sent my payouts to my bank the only bank I use and my payouts A total of 5 diffrent payouts these were sales I had already. Made before I realized by 15 days that the first one failed
I contact Vinted customer service they assured me that everything would be okay and I would be getting the money owed to me.
I asked tgem kindly to please t
Keep the conversation open instead of closing my complaints of course they closed them with still no result or asking did I need further help. So I had to open at least 20 complaints until they told me to get a letter from my bank stating that I did not recieve any payput from them.
Okay so I did get the requested letter from tge bank manager and once again they closed out my complaint telling me that my payouts went through to my bank on there end and they hope that I find my money.
The Customer Service would assure me that everything would be fine they just kept leading me around in circles.
I really want to get money that im owed.
I honestly do not know what I can do to get my payouts that I never received
I have proof that that $500 never reached my bank.
They handled my situation
" WITH NO CONSIDERATION "
NO COMPASSION.
Im sure im not the only seller that this has happened to.
Im cannot tell you how angry I am. I know they. If anyone knows how i can try to get my money back what should I do?

BAD SELLERS SUPPORT
June 17, 2021

I was shocked that one week ago my account got blocked (again), without any notice. I wrote to the support, asking why my account got blocked. They said that it was due to an issue, which they wrote me several times, they blamed me that I didn't respond. I got NO message at all from supports. I got to asked them 3 times, why my account got blocked, which they hesitantly were finally giving answer. I then showed them, I got no message from them, AT ALL! Why could they easily block their sellers like that?!?! They said that they were sorry that their message weren't clear enough for me. HEY! I GOT NO MESSAGE AT ALL FROM YOU! NONE. YOU BLOCKED ME RIGHT AWAY ANYWAY.

I've been using Vinted for more than 5 years in Germany. Both to buy and sell. I got more than 400 listings in my profile. Hundreds of transactions had been made. Yet, I find there is very weak support for sellers. If someone clicked a complaint button on you, you will immediately get banned and blocked! ONE COMPLAINT.

I got this experience 3 times this year, with similar reasons, that the buyers was not satisfied with the product. I wrote to the support, giving them screenshots of the conversations and photos to state the good condition of the stuffs. They don't bother it at all. I still forced to accept return or giving partial discount of the stuff.

In this last case, the buyers was not satisfied because the short is not suited for her. I took photos of the label and even the measurements with measurement tape! What else could I do other than that! She also said that the short is also yellowish, which is not true! I got photos to prove. I've written also in the ads and profile, that I do not give returning policy. ( Privatverkauf. Keine Garantie, Gewährleistung, oder Rücknahme.) Which apparently means nothing for the Vinted support.

Although I gave them photos to prove, they do not bother to see the case. They said I have to offer return policy or giving discount. There is really no support for the sellers in this platform. One complaint, and you will easily get blocked for weeks!

For someone who view Vinted as an income source, this hurts so much. They do not support you at all! Sellers, I wouldn't even recommend you to sell on Vinted. Bad bad sellers support.

Tip for consumers:

AVOID!
