Got 3 auto-shipments before i realized they were taking money out of my checking account which made me overdrawn and now have to pay a penalty. The wine opener arrived with the first order and had 4 screws with 3 openings on device. Fixed that and when i went to open a bottle the auger went right through the cork into the bottle.the wine choices are pitiful often sending 3 of the same kind in one shipment. Bought through the NRA, read the fine print!
I have the same complaint as everyone else. There was no advanced notice given (1) of what would be shipped and (2) that my bank account was being charged $144.06. I spoke with a customer service representative name Eddie who refused to provide his last name. He advised that a stocking fee of $50 would be charged and generally took an attitude that this was my problem, not his. Now, I want to make sure my bank account information is deleted from their system.
Product is not that good - gas station wine at best and they will charge charge and overcharge
I am finally having to go through my bank to resolve this.
Customer service people are so rude and ignorant.
Definitely stay away from this company
Called to cancel my membership in time, but they still charged me $117 for crappy wine stating that while we haven't shipped it, we are in the process of preparing your shipment. What?!? Thrives. I am in the midst of a dispute with my credit card provider
Agreed to the sample lot... paid for it, introductory sample price.
Now I have 2 charges of 127 against this card and no other wine has came...
Don't want it and won't use it... the samples were cut rate stuff anyways!
This is just some scam crooks
Was a member for over a year. Wine were ok. Not the best, but it was convenient. Vinesse then randomly switched delivery from UPS (comes at same time when we are home) to Fedex (shows up randomly is 5 hours window). Our Fedex deliveries were returned and we were charged restocking and delivery. I asked if they could redeliver as was told UPS delivery was not available in my area? I felt the least they could have done since the change was made with no communication was to wave the fees, but nope... we cancelled membership.
I was not informed a shipment had been placed and was going to have to pay 45. For shipping plus a "restocking" fee for what appears to be 6 bottles of very very cheap wine. All from California, all about 5.00 per bottle off the shelf. I spoke with customer service and even though I had not signed for the shipment I was still unable to return without unreasonable charges. Do not buy from this company. They have no -name cheap wine, and almost scam approach to sending a shipment without notification. Stick to Amazon who informs you ahead of time and always has outstanding customer service. Do not order anything from Vinesse
I ordered some wine and and it took them 6 weeks to deliver it. In the meantime i cancelled the next order since it would give me too much wine on hand. I just checked my United Mileage Plus account and found my points were not credited. In short "Edmund Peterson" tell me I cancelled before 21 days from shipment were up. Thus I lost all my points. I could not find any 21 day reference for cancellation. The point is cancel the shipment or the "club" membership. They will err on their side. Do not order from this outfit. They lie!
Regarding the wines themselves, the quality was moderately ok, but was overpriced through Vinesse as I saw many of the same wines in local stores for significantly less per bottle. My first shipment was better than those that followed. The quality mostly declined the longer I stayed in the club. In addition to this, about 6 or 7 shipments were returned over the last 6 months without any attempt at delivery. It took numerous calls to get them to credit the charges for these. I called both the shipping company and Vinesse many times as well as trying to resolve via email with Vinesse. The last email from Vinesse restated in no uncertain terms that they have no control over their courier not attempting delivery and they are unable to offer shipping via any other shipping company. At this point I would not rejoin the club for any reason as it was way too many headaches and no results for expensive so-so wines that were sometimes delivered and sometimes not.
Hello,
Thank you for your feedback. We're very sorry to hear about the delivery issues you were having with the courier. We would like to look into this further for you as this doesn't follow our instructions for said couriers. We aren't able to locate your membership with the information provided but would like to find a resolution for you. Could you please provide me with any additional information you can regarding your membership?
Like 90 percent of the 1 star ratings, I orders a trial sample of wines at about $50.00 and now they are shipping me cases which I did not order. I stopped payment through my bank and will also do so on my cc. Please beware. The complaints are true.
I signed up for their American Cellars Club. They sent me a survey asking what wines I liked and did not like. The sampler they sent had 3 wines on my "do not like" list. When I expressed dis-satisfaction, they said they would replace them at a cost of $22 for shipping. These are wines that are easily purchased at Total Wine for under $7.
Subsequent shipments are very costly and your choices are really limited.
When I wanted to cancel, they refused to honor the miles to be credited to my American Airlines account.
Buy your wines at at good discount store, like Total Wine. Stay away from Vinesse's clubs.
Each wine is custom labeled for this company. That means they buy whatever cheap wine they can find from any source (think boxed wine and those gigantic Gallo wines quality), bottle it, and put a label on it. Since these wines are not sold to stores or put up for reviews in the wine press, they can say and charge whatever they want. A bottle that would have cost you $5 in the store from Sutter Home, is suddenly valued at $20. Real wine clubs which buy decent wines in bulk, and pass on the savings to their members.
Initial offer appears attractive. Fine print may have revealed, but I had no idea, that I would automatically receive 6 bottles of pricey wine automatically some weeks after the initial order. Package came with cooking recipes but no invoice. Hard to find the company's contact information. Dor to door is fine, but go to Costco. You'll do much better.
Hello George,
Thank you for the feedback in regards to our services as it will help us improve as a company overall. We would like to apologize for any unwanted wine that was sent you, as this is not our goal as a company. On all of our promotions we do state that by placing an order for the introductory offer you are enrolling into a wine club where you will automatically receive another shipment consisting of 6 wines the following month. The price of the future shipments is listed with this information. Also listed here is that there is no obligation to continue with us and that you may cancel at any time. This information is also listed in the confirmation email that we send out after an enrollment is completed, granted an email is put on file. Within the email, you can see the dates of your 2nd and 3rd wine club shipments as well, so that you can make arrangements to alter them if need be. We understand that this might have been overlooked, and for that we do sincerely apologize. Our members are able to delay any shipment for up to 6 months, no questions asked. We also offer the option of slowing down the automatic shipments to occur every other month or once a quarter. All of these options are listed within our Member Service Portal on our website. You can manage your account here or just simply contact us so that our representatives can make any/all adjustments to your membership for you. We do understand that everyone has different wine needs, and we want to do our very best to make sure we’re able to accommodate said needs. We spend a great deal of time ensuring that all of our shipments arrive to our members in the best condition possible. From storing the wines in our warehouse to the measures we take in ensuring that the bottles arrive straight to your doorstep safely. Due to the measures we take to ensure you are able to enjoy the wines directly after the shipment is delivered, we do have a restocking fee in place to help with these costs. We use temperature controlled trucks to guarantee our wines arrive with the same high standard of quality as when they left our facility. Again, we would like to apologize for any inconvenience in this matter. We do appreciate your feedback with this review.
I had an offer for 6 bottles for $50. I never received any notification that i was going to be charged $136 for a second order. I called them fuming the representative was very unprofessional and basically told me to deal with it or cancel my membership which i did. I am very disappointed in Vinesse. I wish i had checked out their reviews before signing up.
Dear Jeeleigh A.,
We appreciate you taking the time to post your review about your wine club membership experience. I am sorry to hear you were not informed about the pricing of future wine club orders, after the introductory wine club shipment priced at $49.99. Depending on how you enrolled for the wine club membership, the details about future shipments, including the price, should have been noted either on the priority order form (if the promotional offer was sent in the mail) or in a confirmation email (if enrolled online or over the phone). Also in the packaging of your introductory wine club shipment, there should have been additional information about your wine club membership and the details of future wine club shipments, including the price and schedule dates of the next 3 orders. I am sorry to hear level of customer service you received when you had called our customer service line. Our company's goal is to provide excellent customer service with a courteous and professional attitude. Sharing your experience will help us in areas of improvement with our wine club membership. Thank you.
I received my first order of 6 bottles for 144 USD. Absolutely not worth it. They sent me 3 types of wine (two bottles of each). There is no way I would pay this much for the quality of wine they sent me. After reading other reviews I wish I'd never got involved with such a poor service. American wines and the wine industry have so much more to offer. Don't use this service - there are so many other better options out there!
We are so sorry to hear you were not pleased with the wines you received. We put a great deal of care and consideration in the selection process, as our goal is for all our members to thoroughly enjoy the wines we send. However we understand that wine is a very personal, subjective experience, which is why we offer our satisfaction guarantee. If you let us know within 40 days of your shipment, we will replace any wine you did not enjoy. We will attempt to contact you to resolve this issue and hope you consider Vinesse for your future wine needs. Cheers!
They ship more than I signed up for at higher price.
Their Satisfaction guarantee does not allow me to return a shipment for full credit.
I got taken. Should have been smarter buyer. You have been warned.
We apologize for any misunderstandings with our wine clubs. We do try to inform members that the satisfaction guarantee offers wine bottle replacements for any bottles you aren't pleased with. It is different than a money-back guarantee. You are able to adjust the bottle count on your shipments, as well as the wine preference. Again, we do apologize for any misunderstanding in this matter.
Website not functioning.
Received wine today but cannot contact them regarding another purchase.
Do date they have not even charged me.
Rather incompetent business.
I think I will cancel because of this.
Will anyone answer me?
Jim
I joined several Vinesse wine clubs one evening with differing ship dates. Within minutes I noted 7 charges to my credit card including those for future shipments. I then found these reviews.
I cancelled all the clubs minutes later but a little later I found they shipped them anyway. They shipped some clubs early to get in under the wire.
I will refuse shipment when it comes tomorrow.
Beware!
James,
We're sorry to hear about the concern here; and we can assure you that it's never our intention to mislead and confuse our members. When someone joins one of our wine clubs, we process an introductory shipment right away, and it sounds like that was way too much wine for you, all at once. I've sent you a private message to ensure that this was resolved for you, and I can assure you that we'll handle this. We are not sending out anything extra or being deceitful- we are getting members the first shipment in as timely of a manner as possible and we're so sorry that it was too much all at once. We'll make sure it's all taken care of. Please respond back, as soon as you have a chance, and I'll make this right for you.
Best,
Vinesse Wines
I waited all day for the shipment to arrive and it never came. I immediately cancelled my membership and was told I would automatically receive a credit when the shipment got back to them. This did NOT happen. AND they had the nerve to deduct a restocking fee even though their own delivery company was at fault. Worst customer service ever!
I responded to an offer for 6 bottles of wine. When the shipment arrived, there were 2 bottles each of three different wines - all terribly disappointing. I belong to two other wine clubs and the quality of what was shipped was abysmal by comparison. Sorry, but definitely do not recommend this service.
We are sorry to hear you did not enjoy the selection of wines in your shipment. We understand that taste in wine is uniquely personal and can vary among individuals. This is why we provide a 45 day satisfaction guarantee on the wine that you receive. If you are not completely satisfied with any wine, we would be more than happy to include replacement bottles in your next club shipment to avoid additional shipping costs. Again, we do apologize that you were not happy with your selections. Please contact our customer support team at (800)823-5527 and we would be more then happy to assist you. Thank you and have a great day.
Answer: I don; t know what the policy is. They did agree to cancel the monyhly membership after much talking but claimed the box of wine had been sent out. They asked me not to accept the wine but UPS delivered it to a neighbor, therefore, I had to pick it up and return it. I had to pay UPS for returning the wine. It cost me money and I got no value.
Answer: I am in the same position! The website isnt even working and I cant find a phone number
