Convenience for some marginal wines. After my wife called and said we would not want to stay signed up after a promotional offer, we received an updated offer in the mail with an incorrect first name which we felt was offensive. I'm not sure if it was intentional or not, but it was a turn off to doing business with this company.
I've tried many a wines that I have never heard of, that's simply how you discover your next favorite bottle. But the wines that are offered in the Vinesse Wine Club are just not good! For lack of a better term they are from fake wineries, just try looking up any of the wineries listed on the label, no such place! So, of course do what you want, but if you're looking for a wine club to join, find a wine you really like, look them up on the internet and join their club. Cheers!
Thank you for your review, and we would like to apologize for any misunderstanding regarding the selections of wines we offer. Our members' satisfaction with the quality and value of our wine selections is our highest priority. All our wines pass a rigorous and competitive review by our highly experienced tasting panel. We source wines in many different ways, including directly from wineries in the US and abroad, through distributors and through trusted wholesalers and importers. Sometimes, we act as a "negociant" and work directly with foreign and domestic wineries to produce custom wines for our customers but that cannot be labeled with existing brand names. These negociant wines must be labeled with unique new and distinct names to protect existing brands and sources. Sometimes, our best values for our customers are found through negociant arrangements as existing high quality wines are sold for far less than their full price to us and the savings are passed to our members. If ever you are unsatisfied with the wine selected for you for any reason, you are welcome to make use of our satisfaction guarantee.
Very similar to the many many reviews here. They charged $145 on my card without telling me and when i contacted customer support almost immediately, they told me it is "too late" to cancel my "order" and i can refuse the wine but they will still charge me $65 out of the $145 for shipping and restocking? Are you kidding me? I contacted them again and yes they pointed me the the fine print of the agreement that they claim "i signed up and legally responsible for". Please do not provide your credit card information to them and spread the word. I normally don't write reviews but i feel the responsibility to let others out there know about this company that is just out there to scam people!
I ordered the sampler box of 8 bottles of reds, then checked the reviews. Mistake. I called and then emailed my cancellation the next day. Got a cancellation number. Now one day later the wine is being delivered from California to Ohio in one day. I will be working with American Express to get this charge expunged. Stay away.
Thank you for your feedback. We would like to apologize for any inconvenience in this matter. When an order is processed, we try and ship the items as soon as possible and generally quote 5-7 business days for shipments going to be delivered in the Midwest. If your membership was cancelled and you received a notification that the shipment was to be delivered the next business day, simply don't accept the shipment and have it sent back to us. We can issue a refund once the item is returned back to our warehouse. If you're not able to refuse the shipment, the courier tries to deliver the shipment 3 times and then will automatically return the shipment back to us. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience in this matter.
I've been a member of Vinesse for a year now. The wine started off ok but the quality seemed to go down over time. The 12 case price however remains the same high price. The latest case cost $290 with free delivery. This time the wines seemed cheap looking. I was able to source pricing for 9 of 12 bottles for a total of $120. I couldn't find a price for the remaining 3 bottles but would estimate may $15 each. This means Vinesse has added a shocking $125 to the retail value of the wine! I called to complain and was told that they don't go by the value of the wine and they just charge the same whatever they put in the box! Really! This is a dishonest and immoral business to only way I can get a refund is by paying UPS $60 to send it back. Nobody likes to feel ripped off and this dreadful company deserves to go out of business as they take advantage of people with what seems like a really cheap deal at first for good wine
They lure you with the online offer for $29,99, I got charged $149.00 they won't return the money staying that I reopen the membership, no notices or anything at all they just used my bank information to charge whatever they want and the wines are totally overpriced, don't fall for that!
After receiving bad wines over several months I decided to cancel my subscription. I specifically asked that no more wine should be sent. Two weeks later wine shows up at my
House when I am out of town!
They want me to return the wine at my expense!
Barry,
I'm so sorry to hear about this, and we want to make this right for you. I've sent you a private message requesting some additional information so that I'm able to locate your account, but it sounds like the message to cancel your account might have happened after a shipment was already processing, but I want to be sure that we resolve this for you, regardless. Please let me know, as soon as you have a chance, via private message and I'll ensure that your account is resolved. We appreciate your membership and apologize for any confusion regarding your membership and cancellation.
Cheers,
Vinesse Wines
Not only is their customer service pitiful, their wine leaves much to be desired. My initial thought behind this review was to focus on the bait and switch advertising deeply imbedded in the fine print, however the fact remains that their deception is spelled out in their contract. Therefore, I will focus on the quality of the wine that they produce. The first shipment was barely palatable and the second shipment was simply awful. I implore consumers to simply stay away from this company if you desire good tasting wine. In addition, do not expect their customer service team to be knowledgeable about the intricacies of their vineyards and their process of wine making. I am a strong proponent of you get what you pay for however in this instance you are getting poor quality for a high price once the fees are included. Heed my advice, stay away from this company.

We carry wines from all over the world, and we're sure we can find some selections that you will find delicious and delectable! Thank you for choosing Vinesse, cheers!
Horrible customer service. They won't cancel my membership and are lying about what I signed up for. Crooked company like some else stated. Do not give this company business. Run as far as you can. The wine is cheap and not even good for what you pay for.
I am a member of two other clubs and joined this one as they had a great intro offer. Wines were mediocre and I was going to cancel. Got a text from FEDEX to expect a delivery and adult signature required. I saw it was from Vinesse and called to tell them I didn't request or authorize any shipment and they agreed to cancel but I have to pay a restocking fee. The other clubs (like WSJ Wines) always send me a notice when it is about to ship so that I can change selections, postpone delivery or cancel that shipment. Not this company caveat emptor
I joined earlier this year and it's been a mess from the start. The wine was poor quality (how are they storing this stuff?) and when I complained, my emails were ignored. I finally spoke to someone on the phone who was rude and unhelpful. I cancelled my subscription and demanded a refund. Which I still haven't received. Avoid these scammers.
Also signed up for airline miles through American Airlines... second shipment already "processed" so couldn't cancel before 21 day active period to receive miles. Even though it was over 2 weeks out from shipment date!. Believe I will be flying another airline also if this is the kind of business that American Airline associates itself with. Zero rating
Their NRA association should be enough reason to boycott them. But if you need more consider the nature of this scam:
A] despite 4 notices they refuse to cancel & sent me $144 shipment for only 6btl.
B] original shipment came damaged with the box open with no wine opener.
C] wines are mediocre at best.
Wines were of mediocre quality, comparable to what you might get for $7 or so at the store. Also, they made me call in to cancel my membership... didn't accept my e-mail request. Not a huge deal, but it's lame, like the wine. Wouldn't recommend.
Misleading advertisements/descriptions are intentional IMO. Be careful when ordering from this company. When they use a description of 1 bottle that could be any size (750ml, 375ml, 187? Ml) per Andrew the service representative.
I tried the promo then cancelled by phone right away. Of course another 6 bottle shipment shows up for $133.77! Customer service informed me my membership wasn't cancelled just 'delayed' for future shipments until June. Not true! I wasn't that impressed with the wine and had no intention of continuing and plainly told them that. This time I emailed my cancellation and got a confirmation number. Don't recommend cancelling it by phone if you don't want more expense and frustration. They also stick you with return shipping and 15% restocking fee. Please avoid these crooks and go to Specs!
We would like the opportunity to review your account, Benny. If you have a moment, please send us a message with your phone number so we may contact you. Thank you.
I ordered the sample box of reds which I didnt like so wanted to cancel any further orders, you cannot contact them buy phone as its always answer machine and no message section there email is non existent now I have to cancel my credit card
Cost me $45 to return a shipment that I didn't ask for, wasn't notified about and surely did not want. The wine was horrible and they have no money back guarantee like other clubs. They will only send you MORE bad wine along with your regular monthly shipment. Do not waste your time with this club.
I returned a case I hadn't ordered or bee given notice of and an opportunity to reject. They withheld from the refund some $40 for shipping, handling and "restocking!" The wines were mediocre and not worth their supposed bargain prices. Bad people!
This wine club exists to suck your money out of your wallet in exchange for low quality wine (but if you don't like it they will replace it and charge you for shipping). They acknowledged in writing me request to cancel my membership and then sent me another shipment weeks later. Now they want me to pay to return it and pay a restocking fee. Now that's an honest way to do business isn't it.

Answer: I don; t know what the policy is. They did agree to cancel the monyhly membership after much talking but claimed the box of wine had been sent out. They asked me not to accept the wine but UPS delivered it to a neighbor, therefore, I had to pick it up and return it. I had to pay UPS for returning the wine. It cost me money and I got no value.
Answer: I am in the same position! The website isnt even working and I cant find a phone number
