That said that they shipped too much too often we opened our first bottle last night and it was outstanding. Even made a note to try to find it at Total. If the remaining wine is just as good Vinesse is somewhat vindicated.
I cancelled my membership in June 2018. Yet wines were shipped in July and August for a cancelled membership. There is no notification when the shipment is coming like most E commerce companies do these days. Their Customer support is poor when there is a special offering at additional cost you must opt out instead of opting in. They are completely opposite of most companies. Just not a customer focused company.
I was very surprised to see so many negative reviews of Vinesse. I used them for a couple of years, and did get some "fair" wines that I thought were very overpriced, but occasionally they sent some very good wines. The only reason I'm writing this tonight is because my wife and I opened a bottle from Vinesse that I've had for about 3 years, and it is awesome. I wanted to see if it was possible to get more, and saw this website. I felt compelled to write something nice about Vinesse.
Looks like a lot of people do not read or may do not know what they are signing up for. The http://www.vinesse.com/ wine club is fine. No issues. Deliveries are on time and the mix of wine is fine. Does it cost more than the store, yes. But I am paying for the convenience and experience of getting wines I may not other wise try. Saves me a trip and research when at the store. I tend to spend too much time researching instead of just trying.
Just make sure you read the details and know what you are getting into. That is all.
Hello George,
Thank you for the feedback in reviewing our wine club! We're happy that you have been satisfied with the selections of wines that our wine directors have chosen for you! We do put a great amount of time and effort into each shipment we prepare for our members. We have built relationships with wineries and vendors all over the world in our over 25 years in the business. Our wine directors will be thrilled you are enjoying the selections they have made for any shipments you have received. If you come across any wines that you aren't enthralled with, for whatever reason, please feel free to contact us and inquire about receiving replacements for said bottles. Thank you for choosing Vinesse!
I paid $ 39.95 for the eight-bottle intro offer, then cancelled membership. So no chance for them to keep billing me. At $ 5 a bottle, excellent value. Trying the first, Miguel Flores Malbec, right now, and it's fine tho not worth the $ 21+ list price. Always remember the four rules of life: Never play cards with a man named Doc. Never eat at a place called Mom's. Never get involved with someone with more problems than you. AND: never give random sites your credit card. You're welcome!
LOW-LIFE Company. Bought "sample" offering with option to purchase future offers. Next thing I know is that my credit card is debited and "unordered" wine starts arriving. Shame on them but also shame on me for falling into their trap. I called my credit card company to negate the charge and will refuse shipment. They want me to pay for shipping plus a 15% "restocking charge". This company is redefining the word "sleeze".
Hello Jack,
We do have promotional offers for one time shipments, but most are for our wine clubs. We are sorry if you were not aware of this and we would be happy to go over the offer you enrolled with if you wish us to do so. Please feel free to contact us regarding this matter through telephone or a direct message here. Thank you.
I have enjoyed my membership through Vinesse! I have yet to receive a bottle i did not love and their service is easy and convenient. I would defiantly recommend this company to any and all wine lovers out there!
I fell for the first promotional offer, then missed canceling by only 2 days and customer service said "in process". I didn't like getting multiple promotional emails a day even before I'd received the very first shipment. The wines themselves are average. I had my taste buds primed for a Riesling, a favorite of mine. It tasted like a bad Chardonnay. I ended up dumping it. Better off buying by the case locally. I was surprised when customer service called me regarding my experiences and said they would pass my remarks on to marketing, AND offered helpful tips on how to tailor order my wines. I may research better and try a few others.
Never responded to many customer support emails over a one-month period of trying to cancel membership. Never answered phones. Finally reached online chat personnel who was argumentative and claimed everything was my fault for not correctly deciphering their deceptively worded website, even after I quoted exact passages proving my points. I see that others have written similar things, saying things like "It's a SCAM!" I'm inclined to agree that this company seems more interested in keeping you hooked into some sort of subscription, even against your will, than it is in providing good wines or good customer service.
Visited once the website and suddenly received a confirmation of club membership, which never requested or confirmed. An amount much above order cost of $29.99 was withdrawn from my account! On all my mails afterwards the reply is only silence! Just an advise, never get in any contact with those people/company.
Run for the hills! Just buy wine locally. All the same brands but much cheaper without shipping.
Major problems with Billing, Cancelling membership, Replacing problem shipments, getting refunds. You name it. They are out for one thing only and that is to steal your money.
That is Vinesse for you. Grand Cellar wine club runs them. As you can see they only get low ratings. Don't be a victim to this FRAUD!
Please do yourself a favor and avoid this company and their mediocre wine. They will randomly charge you with no notice. When you call or chat with customer service they'll tell you that your box hasn't even been shipped but claim that because it's in the pipeline for shipment it cannot be reversed, even though it's not due to actually ship out to you for sometimes several weeks. Customer service is not at all helpful. They blame their packing process. If they're getting so many complaints and not revising said process it says a lot about what kind of business you're dealing with. Good luck to you if you hand over your info to this company. You'll need it.
Signed up through a United Mileage program. Got the 2 shipments as what was advertised in the special. Cancelled not long after my second shipment. Didn't receive my points. Called to see why and they have a fine print that your account must be active for 21 days after every shipment. This was not put anywhere on the email from United, or the Vinesse page where you sign up. The customer service representative even took forever to try and find where this is advertised on the website.
Customer service people are very nice, but it's not worth any of the hassle.
The wines are not good either. Complete rip off.
Mediocre wine at high prices shipped monthly without notice or choices. How is this a good deal?
To return a wine, you pay shipping, plus 15% restocking fee. Why bother to return it?
I have asked to be removed from the 'club'. We will see next month.
Bought through AAA. Com good deal on first shipment, then second shipment $133. Ridiculous. Then for Christmas they send you a case at $259+ you never committed for. But say it is part of program. You can send anything back. Or you pay not only a hefty shipping outbound but even more back. Plus a 15% restock fee. So the wine is now $22 plus each bottle. Do yourself a favor. Go to local liquor store. We have a Total wine, Half the price for this crap.
Hello,
We’re sorry to hear that your experience with our wine club didn’t exceed your expectations! We do try and make every one of our members time with us personal and memorable. With our promotions through American Airlines (you mentioned AAA, but we don’t have any affiliation with the American Automobile Association), we do try and make the pricing for future shipments known. This information is listed on the enrollment page, within the confirmation email we send after the order is placed, and also on our website. We apologize if this information was missed at any point. We do put a great deal of effort into ensuring that each and every wine club shipment reaches our members in pristine condition by using temperature controlled trucks to ship the wine out of our warehouse in Napa, California. The holiday shipment is one of our most anticipated offerings that we have annually. Although many of our members love receiving these limited time wines, we do attempt to contact members to give them the opportunity to inform us that the shipment is undesired for any reason. The wines we offer are often wines that are not available in any other wine retailer, including Total Wine. The exclusivity of the wines we offer are curated from excellent relationships with the wine makers that work with us in delivering great quality wines straight to your doorstep. Many of our members enjoy receiving wines from all over the world directly to their doorstep without having to step a foot in a store. The aforementioned reasons are, in part, why we have a restocking fee in place for returns that are sent back to our warehouse. We would like to apologize for any inconvenience that may have arisen during your time with us. We would love to have you try us again sometime in the future!
Like the 94% who has written negative reviews. I've had the same personal experience.
You have to wonder why Consumer Protection, Attorney Generals and Better Business bureaus have not taken some type of action to protect the public from this business.
I know I'll be sharing my personal experience on many web sites. Bob
I fell into the same trap where my shipments kept getting more expensive. Some of the wines were good. I was questioning the fact that the bottles were coming with the same foil top and a blank cork. (Are they just bottling their own knockoffs?) I called once to find out about a shipment and the guy was so rude to me I wrote to the company. After my last $200+ shipment of 9 bottles I'd had enough. Took me THREE phone calls to finally actually get the cancellation email. I cannot believe American Airlines endorses this company for points. Buyer Beware.
After the initial shipment, UPS attempted 3 times to deliver a case that I did not order. I may have accepted it, however like most of us I work during the day and cannot sign for a shipment. So I called customer service and explained the situation, and then they said they would credit my account LESS 15%! Very deceiving, and now I will dispute this with my credit card company. Total hassle. Beware.
First time using this company. We ordered wines as a gift for Christmas, it was placed early December. The package (after the new year) has still not arrived. Not only did the recipient NOT get the gift in time but it's way after the holiday party season when it could've enjoyed. The customer service person assured me a tracking could be found if I logged in to my account. However the login he gave me was inaccurate, I called customer service to find out but never reached anyone. A week before Christmas I was emailed a tracking when I placed the order weeks prior. I will NEVER use this company again. Plenty of competitors out there, with the same service, do your research.
We're sorry to hear that your experience with us wasn't what you were expecting. If you could please message me your member number I would be happy to look into this for you further.
We were not notified of our upcoming shipment of wine. I called customer service and she advised me that there would be a 15% restocking fee plus shipping costs. This is not great customer service.
Also, I have been trying to get on my online account for days now - with no luck! The customer service rep sent me a reset password and once I was able to sign in, the system prompted me to create my own password. After I did that, it denied access. I called her back and she said they were having system problems and to try again in an hour.
Hello Dawn,
We were recently experiencing some system issues and we were completely down for an entire day. We are up and running and would like to look into this for you and see if we can get you into your online account. Please either give us a call or send us a direct message and we will be happy to assist you.
Answer: I don; t know what the policy is. They did agree to cancel the monyhly membership after much talking but claimed the box of wine had been sent out. They asked me not to accept the wine but UPS delivered it to a neighbor, therefore, I had to pick it up and return it. I had to pay UPS for returning the wine. It cost me money and I got no value.
Answer: I am in the same position! The website isnt even working and I cant find a phone number

Thank you for contacting us Darlene. It sounds like there could be some misinformation on your account that we would like to take a look into. Please send us a message with your phone number so we may look further into your account. Thank you!
