I signed up like others on the AAdvantage offer. I got my miles, read the stipulations and cancelled after my last qualified shipment shipped. The wines were a little overpriced after the initial "special" pricing. The packaging was good and wines kept piling up. I enjoyed all the wines and cancelled it because I can just order what I want or go to the liquor store. If I remember correctly, it was a pain to cancel, but I had no issues with billing.

I got an offer in the mail-did not have it with me on lunch so I went to the website and ordered-not realizing my offer on paper was $29.99 and I paid $49.99 instead. I immediately called customer support and I explained this. I had THE most condescending human speak to me. He had such an attitude and I asked him to not be so rude. He went on to speak about how I clearly was in the wrong for ordering without the code. I told him I did not disagree that I should have had the form but could he fix it as I am brand new to this! He DECLINED. So I asked for a manager and he said there is "no one available as a manager or supervisor for me to speak with." He then checked into my account and said my payment did not go through anyway (which I have not checked to be accurate yet) and I could try again to do it the "correct" way so it may work this time. WHAT A TERRIBLE front line for a company!

A bit sneaky, so be careful when you sign up. I signed up for the airline miles (American Cellars Wine Club) but cancelled after the first shipment (thought the wine very ordinary and not as good as what I can get locally for the same price). They kept me on their mail list and I saw a "grab bag" special that looked good, so I ordered it. Unbeknownst to me, I was actually signing up for the "Grab Bag Club" which sent quarterly shipments. I only found this out when my AmEx was charged $142 from them for a shipment which I didn't receive. Thank god I used AmEx -- they are now on my side for getting the charge reversed! Meanwhile, I have contacted the company and requested to be removed from all mailings so I don't get snookered into inadvertently joining another club when I thought I was only ordering one shipment.

I have not sent a wine gift from Vinesse but I belong to the $11-15 bottle of Chardonnay and merlot club plus the grab bag. We drink wine every night and we aren't rich and far from being wine snobs. We do not collect. I find it fun to receive new bottles of wine with the tips for food paring and recipes included. I recommend Vinesse for their choices and find the wines drinkable and enjoyable.

Extravagant credit charge
December 26, 2019

I ordered 6 + 2 btls of wine for a Christmas gift which was charged correctly to my credit card. Today I check my credit card bill and they have added $144 to it. When I called them they tell me I joined a club and another shipment is already enroute. Not Happy with them. Don't do business with them!

Excessive Charges

I joined Vinesse Wine Club through a promotional offer. In the fine print of the T&C, it indicates previous members MAY not be eligible for the promotion. Since I was a previous member, I was not eligible. However, Vinesse did not inform me, and went ahead and charged my credit card the full price of the wine, and did not credit me with my award points. At the least, they should have informed me, instead of charging my credit card more than I authorized.

The miles are not worth it. Like other reviews here and with the BBB, this isnt an ethical company. They pretend to be one (Vinesse) but actually operate as an umbrella organization; canceling memberships and getting refunds are difficult.

Further, the wine is overpriced and not good. Save yourself some frustration and find another option.

Scam in corporate level

Originally thought this will be a "new type of service" when mass market making a good deals and collectively we will get a good deals... but apparently no that was a nice way to get people in and cut all ways out... site is down for almost for week. Phones not responding... if they will keep charging me for new shipments with those very regular pricess I'm calling a layers and hopfuly there will be a massive law case agains them... if FBI did not shot them down for a such a massive scam

Be very careful with their AAdvantage promo. It is a scam. After you have committed to buy, they will send you the confirmation with some " fine print." Basically, if you withdraw your membership after the 1st delivery ( who wouldn't after tasting the very poor quality and realizing that the succeeding deliveries are very expensive), you lose the promised mileage.

I rated it 1 star because I couldn't go any lower.

The promotion does have the terms and conditions linked to the offer details. It does state the member must be active for 21 days following the deposit of their shipment, in order for the bonus miles to be awarded. It appears there was a misunderstanding of the terms and conditions for this promotion at the time of enrollment, and if the wine club membership account was cancelled before the 21 day period was satisfied, then the member would be disqualified to earn the promotional bonus miles. My first order arrived a week or two late and the wine was good but nothing great Got an email in just a couple of weeks later stating they were getting ready for my next shipment! Whoa-I didn't order anymore. Called, spoke to a nice woman who assured me the shipment would been canceled and they wouldn't charge my credit card. Well guess what. They did try to deliver the order which I refused and they charged my credit card to boot! When I called again to get them to refund my money... oh, well they could do that but I would have to pay the shipping to and from Plus a 15% restocking fee. They said I never called to cancel because they don't have it in their records! I assured them I had... they lied about the order, they lied about my not calling and now they want money from me for something I didn't order or want! I have canceled their membership and am requesting my credit card company not to honor their demand for me to pay for their mistake! Run folks! This one is a scam!

I agreed to receive the special Christmas wine with gift bags with the guarantee they would arrive by the 20th. Well, that didn't happen. They arrived yesterday 12/27. I called and asked for compensation and was told nothing they could do except refund shipping. Lets see, I had to buy 6 bottles of wines to replace the ones that didn't show up AND the 6 they shipped... hum... NOT GOOD ENOUGH! Plan to cancel membership. I just felt they took NO ownership or responsibility for this. I checked with the shipping and it WASN'T shipped in time to get to my house so it wasn't shippers fault.

Got my second shipment and it cost $127.00... What the ****! I got sent two bottle each of three different mediocre wines to complete my order of 6 wines a month. I never expected to get the same wines over and over. I was told the wines would all be different. I would never pay this much for the wines I go, especially not duplicates. Anyway I only joined because of the American Airlines Promotion. I haven't been awarded any points yet for that so I am starting to think I am being shafted for the points too. Seriously I am really disappointed with this company.

I agreed to the sample lot and paid for it at the introductory sample price. Then I received the

Next shipment of six bottle and was charged $127.00 for about $80.00 worth of wine.

I checked each bottle on the Vivino App and they are pretty accurate on prices and

I was shocked to see that this company would charge a 33% mark up.

DO NOT JOIN THIS CLUB... get away as quick as you can.

I placed on order through Groupon which I was very happy about. However, a few week after, I was charged $133.77 as pending on my CC for what I called them right away why the charge. They said I had joined their club and I was going to receive a shipment every month. NO I DIDN'T JOINED YOUR CLUB! They did this without notifying me of any shipment or charge. (That's stealing) I had to get my credit card involve and finally was able to get all my money back since they had only refunded me $92 because I refused the wine when it arrived. By far the worse Online shopping experience!

They offer a sample of wines to try - which were all very poor quality. When you cancel - they say they have no record of cancellation and continue to send you more wine. Very deceitful as you place the initial order with American Cellars and later shipments come from GSE*Vinesse Wine Inc. While they tell you they will replace bottles you are unsatisfied with - they don't mention they will charge a very high shipping fee and a restocking fee. For unopened packages they will make you responsible for shipping costs and charge an additional 15% restocking fee. My advise - STAY AWAY from this unprofessional company!

This company sent me a case of wine, never told me that they would automatically bill my credit card (CC) and send wine in the future. When I seen charge to my CC, I canceled called to find that is was there police. They canceled the order, although sent the wine anyways. I refused the shipment and was charged shipping and handling cost.

My review is about how the business operates and not the wine. I was never told that someone would have to be home to sign. I knew I would not be home to sign when they only deliver to my house in the middle of work days. Then they charged me a 15% "restocking fee" when UPS couldn't deliver. They should have been upfront about that. It is clear that they know this is a problem and deliberately chose to hide it. That is why they get 1 star from me. This is an easy problem to fix and I hope they choose to do just that. Vinesse, you make to make it obvious to anyone signing up that they must be home to sign for the deliveries. See, it's easy.

I ordered the 6 bottles of introductory offer. I did not have a chance to even try a bottle and one week later 6 bottles showed up on my entry with a charge of $158.00 to my credit card. I tried to refuse the shipment through UPS but couldn't because it had arrived already. I have been trying for 2 weeks to send the wine back. UPS said I had to have a shipping label from Vinesse. Vinesse does not answer the phone but refers me to the web site. There is nothing on the web site on how to return it. One place it said to talk to the virtual person but it does not exist. I contacted the credit card company and they called the phone number supplied the credit card company and they received the same foolish recording. Please do not ever get any wine from this company. I tried one of the wines I received in the introductory offer and it is terrible. Buy locally.

I ordered the wine online and wanted to cancel right away, was put on hold for 20mins, as soon as I got connected, the agent told me it's been an hour since I placed the order which was only 30mins, and they said there's nothing they can do to stop the shipping, but i can refuse the shipment but they will refund minus the shipping and 15% of restocking fee. I've never been through an experience that I can't cancel within 30mins. And the agent were lying about the time. It's totally a fraud

This is the most disreputable company to deal with. They provide no advance notice of an upcoming shipment or its contents. The first indication is when you get a UPS tracking number. Then when you ask to cancel the shipment you are told that is not doable and that you should refuse to accept delivery. When you do this you are charged 1/3 of the total price a a "shipping and restocking" fee. I have belonged to several wine clubs for years and have never encountered this type of sleazy business practice. To top it off the wine is incredibly ordinary and not what they claim it to be.

AVOID THESE PEOPLE AT ALL COSTS
