Vidanta Reviews Summary

The company's reputation is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from aggressive sales tactics and perceived deceitful practices regarding time-share promotions. Many customers reported inadequate room conditions, poor food quality, and a lack of accountability for safety issues, leading to feelings of neglect and frustration. However, some reviews highlighted the beauty of the resort and positive interactions with staff, indicating potential for memorable experiences. Vidanta Disaster
April 16, 2021

We have visited Cancun Mexico 3 times. Every time it has been at a different resort and I can honestly say that they were all great. The difference with Vidanta, is they are trying to build the largest theme part on earth and need to pay for it somehow! So once I turned them down for the $120,000 time share presentation you HAVE to attend, their attitude changed completely. They also require you to put a minimum of $1,000 as a DEPOSIT that goes toward your expenses. The only issue is that is actually does NOT! When you check out they will still charge you for any purchases you spent, so it does not go against your deposit. When I checked out they told me that the "Deposit" of $1,000 would be returned to my bank account in 24 hours. 2 weeks later i have NOT receive the funds yet and there is not A SINGLE competent person that can tell me why? NOT ONE! They also added several charges to my bill that i did NOT approve. In my honest opinion, you can have a great experience in Mexico as I have before, without going through Vidanta! Very poor company that only cares about one thing, getting you to buy a timeshare so they can pay for Walleyworld! Book somewhere else!

Vidanta scam
January 18, 2021

The Vidanta sales force at the Cabo location out and out lied to me. They sold a bill of goods and then changed it all on the contract. Had my first stay at the Cabo resort. Rooms have no heat, and people next door had no hot water. It took the resort 3 days to move them to a new room. Meanwhile, the sales staff again hounded us and lied about their situation. I would not reccomend this organization to anyone.

We stayed at the Grand Luxxe Rivera Maya last October. We were there for my 70th birthday. During checkin we agreed to attend a "member update" breakfast. We were told that it would not be a one-on-one sales pitch. After breakfast, we went into the sales dept to discuss "updates". To make a long story short, after 5 hours of BS, we reluctaltly agreed to purchase an Imperial Gardens package at Nuevo Vallarta to go along with our Grand Luxxe property. Our "update" (read 'sales") person told us that having the two properties would greatly inhance our value when Vidanta goes piblic in "about 18 months". He told us a bunch of other lies as well. If requested, I can relate the entire horror story privately. My wife and I are in our 70's, have no grandchildren, and no use for this property. We only bought it based on several lies told to us by Tomas. He made several promises to us which are also lies. WE caontacted Vidanta Member Services, but so far nothin positive has come of our efforts to get our money back.

If anyone has any advise that may help us and other victims of Vidanta's predatory sales practices, we will greatly apreciate them.

Upon arrival to Cancun we headed to Budget to pick up our rental car. The guy at the counter (Brian) immediately pitched us an excursion package and free breakfast if we agreed to attend a 90 minute seminar for Vidanta. We'd attended time share sales pitches in the past and reluctantly decided to forfeit an hour and a half of our vacation in exchange for the excursion and breakfast. When we arrived at the resort to attend the seminar/sales pitch we parked and had to be driven on a golf cart quite a distance to the entrance, we had no idea how to get back to the car, and were essentially stuck there. Once we checked in we were partnered with our guide/Sales Rep, Filepe, who was actually a nice guy. We ate, visited, took the tour, listened to the sales pitch (that began with 127k package price). We explained we didn't have that kind of money to spend on vacations, especially for the same destination (MEX). He assured us we could use the fund anywhere, which we were more than skeptical about and insisted we were not interested and asked to be checked out... this is after 3 and a half hours... Then the "managers" came to the table, they were rude and pretentious, asking us where we were staying, and treated us like total losers. After asking multiple times to be checked out I had to stand up and start yelling, literally... It was a nightmare and I was furious. This is the treatment you get before you write a check? Ha, really? Worse than car salesman and with less class. These guys are total scumbags, don't be fooled or get sucked in to the BS. This experience ruined our trip and will forever be what we think of when Cancun is mentioned. I
Run the other direction, folks.

I'll be brief since many people already know about how underneath a nice and luxurious resort, there also exists a fraudulent industry in charge of harassing people and telling lies to them.
I have owned timeshare for quite some time and in this last occasion I had a proposal of trading my existing timeshare with a Sister Resort at Vidanta Riviera Maya (Mayan Palace, Mayan Jungle, etc.) and get 2 Bedroom, 2 Bath free upgrade. Never happen, only got 1 BR, 1 BA and only if available.

STAY AWAY!
July 5, 2019

Videnta must mean steaming pile of poo in Spanish because that's what this place is, it's a garbage property where there is blood on the couches, dirty floors, stained shower curtains, towel racks falling off the wall, coffee makers that don't work, room service that takes hours. If you want a $#*!ty vacation at a premium price, this is your spot. The "management" is horrible and uncaring, no one gives one $#*! about providing you with a vacation experience, they've got your money, and that's all they care about. Wait... it gets better... their sales pitch is worse than a lousy car sales pitch. It just gets worse and worse. If you get stuck here, go into town, and enjoy your vacation, but stay off of this $#*!hole of a property. If you run across Jamel in sales run, or if you want a comedy show of a lousy car salesman, he's your guy. Lots and lots of promises were made, not follow through on any of it by Jamel or by anyone at the resort or from Vidanta. Again, this place is a steaming pile of poo.

Estafa de Grupo Vidanta
December 8, 2017

Vidanta Grand Luxxe Riviera Maya: As long as you stay at the Grand Luxxe rooms are huge, large, new & modern with nice outdoor balconies (request the highest floor or your room will be totally dark because every building is surrounded by jungle. Expect Mosquitoes & shockingly the resort doesn't even have Mosquito spray or coils for guests. They also have no umbrellas in each unit, surprising & badly needed considering it's a rain forest! 1st week we had a unit with no hot water in the sinks, which they never did fix and fridge didn't work, which took them 2 fridge replacements to fix the problem with fridge and freezer both. Parking is such a nightmare I'd recommend using taxis instead of renting a car, especially with mandatory insurance charged by car rental companies.

3 years ago me and my husband acquire a membership with Mayan Palace, we think that could be a great idea to invest on a timeshare
We wanted the cancellation but the resort denied that possibility while in the timeshare presentation the salesperson told us that we could cancel whenever we want it, of course it was not true. Bad treatment and a misleading membership, the first year was fine, then the problems started when we received a extra charge from a service that we didnt used it. The cost of the maintenance fees, totally is a crazy price and out of our possibilities. I think that Mayan Palace resort is one of the worst places in the world.
We found Mexican Timeshare Solutions on a timeshare users group website and we hire them. I highly recommend Mexican Timeshare Solutions if you want an honest, responsive means of getting rid of your Mexican timeshare. Mexican Timeshare Solutions took no money upfront. I paid them after they sent me documentation from the Mexican court that my timeshare was revoked
You dont have idea how much I battle with those people to let me go out, all was my fault for not read the contract in time, but now friends you know it, so stay alert.

Salespeople were persistent and we also bought. The cost of the timeshare was agreed upon in our discussions only to find out later when we reviewed the paperwork that the amount we paid was almost $3000. 00 more than the agreed upon amount in the presentation. Vidanta was not willing to work with us to resolve the discrepancies. DO NOT attend these presentations...

We purchased a timeshare at the Grand Mayan San Jose Del Cabo. Upon receiving our papers we noticed there were many fees involved that we were not made aware of. The sales representative misrepresented what the contract/membership entailed. We had been trying to get out of the timeshare and they were saying its too late to cancel it. Seeking legal means of timeshare contract cancellation. We found a company called Mexican Timeshare Solutions that seemed reliable, Very skeptical about our latest experience. We decided to contact them. The process was very simple; I provided them with everything they needed and cooperated with them to help them do their job. They were always quick to answer my e-mails and phone calls in a very friendly, professional manner. Fortunately we got and we are free of maintenances fees.

During our trip to the Mayan Riviera. My husband and Iwere asked to attend a breakfast the next morning. We were pressured and tricked into signing a contract for 30 years membership with Mayan Palace. When we came back to USA we wanted to find a way to get out of the contract, but it was almost impossible. We were paying for a 5 years and we never used it. We have spent $10k dollars on various scams over the years with promising to sell it for us.
Tired of wasting our money I called a Mayan Palace and they offer to help resell our contract. They referred us to a Broker company and we paid $700 and after two years this company disappeared. Tired of been scammed, browsing on internet, I came across Mexican Timeshare Solution website, I read the Testimonials and I decide to try once more. I was very skeptical at first but they didn't require any payment upfront so decided we had nothing to lose. They were very professional and had the contract cancelled within six months. We were cleared of our membershipcompletely. We are very happy with the service, and highly recommend MexicanTimeshare Solutions.

Beware, if you see any Mayan palace salesperson run away and if you are in the same predicament I recommend Mexican Timeshare Solutions.
