I have been attempting to get my frail Aunt of of her contract with VACASA since May. I have actually spoken to Erik once and have received a single email reply during this time. He agreed to begin the cancellation of my Aunt's contract back in May and I have heard nothing since even after repeated VMs and emails. When I call VACASA's number listed above, I am typically on hold for no less than 30 minutes before I simply get transferred into Erik's VM. While Erik appears to be completely useless, it also appears that VACASA as a company simply sucks. If you own a rental property and are looking for a company to help you rent it out, I HIGHLY recommend you steer away from VACASA. I truly do not understand how they are still in business.

4 hours before I was due to check into my beach house for Memorial Day and I was driving almost 12 hours with 2 babies I got a call saying they had canceled my reservation! They said they didn't have another rental available so I had to pay over double the amount I had paid vacasa to another rental company because last minute Memorial Day weekend. I am still fighting with them to get all my money back!

Nightmare

This was the most disgusting disappointing stay we ever have had or experienced. We had NO HOT WATER, they didn't care they actually kept hanging up on us and laughing before they did. We have 4 kids kind you and drive 12 hours.
It was filthy
The outlets didn't work
The one bathroom smelled of pee
No garbage bags
No code to get into the parking lot when they were supposed to
No code to get in the condo when they were supposed too
They kept hanging up on us and laughing
The dishwasher broke it just happened to fly open and hit my husband in the back
The outlets electrical outlets were hanging
They manage the temperature and it was hot
The fans didn't work
The one fan looks like it's going to come down
I hav to mention it was filthy again because it was so disgusting.
Never ever ever ever will we book through them you couldn't even pay us too.
There was black mold in the shower. Another thing.
Just disgusting. I took some pictures this wasn't even the half of it there's an empty wrapping paper tube in the corner of the bedroom dirty mops thrown in the corner. The floor sticks when you walk on it it's literally disgusting.soap scum on the shower doors oh did I mention NO HOT WATER?! Still we are on our third day!

Vacasa... Do not use them!

I didn't think that our wonderful beach stay that we have had planned for months turned into a disaster! We are from Arkansas and drove over 8 hours last Friday we had 5 children with us and the youngest was 4 years old. When we finally made it to gulf shores,al we stopped and ate our fav Mexican restaurant before going to out condo. Around 5:30 pm we get a call from vacasa saying we can't check in do to a water leak from the upstairs condo.then was told that they couldn't help us find anywhere to stay either and just hung up the phone. We literally had to sit in our vehicles for over 2 hours trying to find condos we couldn't find anything till Saturday! We had 2 options find a hotel which cost us 290 dollars for one night or drive back. We had already paid for our condo and to be told we had to wait a couple of business days for the money to refunded then with no help from them and I said over and over sir you don't understand I have children with me. That man did not care one bit. I contacted mgr on Monday evening when I returned back to Arkansas and I explained everything to her. She agreed that how we was treated was not fair I simply wanted them to pay for our cost of the hotel on Friday night. Still haven't heard from them. This mess was not our fault and I'm not asking for payment of the condo that we had to come up with again which was more money and last min booking and fees from that but simply for them to pay for that outrageous price for the hotel room. The hotel gave us a discount and I got to use my state discount so the total is 290... like I have said before I get things happen and it was out of control. But that company will never get my business especially since you didn't care that two women and five children were over 8 hours from home and no place to stay and didn't offer to even help us.

Never rent from these guys!

I found out less than a week away from our vacation that out Harley motorcycles are not allowed on their property! They are refusing to give me a full refund! Nowhere does it say in rental agreement that street bikes are not allowed. I would give them negative stars if I could. This is an Arizona property.

Vacasa is an awful management company beware! Vacasa bought the company I was with and I was loved int a year contract! I had good reviews and rental history until Vacasa! To make them look better they delete negative reviews! I've had to screen shot reviews so I can address things! I fortunately I found out too late and there has been significant damage to my property! They do not inform owners of damages you have to find out by checking reviews daily or going to your rental property frequently! Please do not use this company to manage your properties and renters beware they do not take care of properties and leave them disgusting! I will never stay at a property Vacasa manages!

Frustrating
June 27, 2023

Checked into Unit 321 at the Tidelands yesterday for a 39 day stay and paid $6400. So far all 3 TV's do not have a cable connection. Called about 5pm of day 1 to report problem. We are now at 5pm day 2 and still no TV. We have called miltiple times and spoke to a bunch of customer service employees and they keep saying they opened a ticket. Ok now do something! We also had no parking pass, no way to get into the pool, no trash instructions and my name was not on the list to get in the gate although I made the reservation. I was told if I bought the pool fab for $20 VACASA will reimburse me. I'm not counting on it. I bought it so we could use the pool. Very limited kitchen supplies. No roaches so far but our dog found a roach trap under the living room table. If we could move out with a refund we would. Unfortunately we're stuck here. All the customer service people are very nice but nothing gets fixed. I wish we had researched VACASA before we booked. You have been warned!

To whom it may concern:

Below is the information for the stay that I am addressing. We are very displeased with our experience during this stay. This location is foremost very hazardous and should go through a thorough check of the property. This was our very first time we ever tried to stay in a vacation home like this and all we can do is shake our heads. There were so many issues:
1. Loose/Broken railing on porch, had I not seen it my son would have fallen off this raised porch.
2. The sewage was so full that it was backing up onto the property.
3. Missing remotes for some of the rooms to be able to have lighting or fans in those rooms.
4. The door mats were a hazard to the extent that my husband fell and injured himself, yet all Vacasa had to say was sorry to hear about that.
5. There was a broken towel bar in one of the bathrooms.
6. The walls are very dirty.
7. The wifi was nil.
8. Due to poor wifi, you are unable to watch tv in most of the house, other than the livingroom and downstairs bedroom.
9. The fact that the carbon monoxide detectors and fire alarms (didn't really see those) were just laying around the house and not secured, not sure why since it has been a while since the walls were painted.
We are so very displeased with the condition of this home. We am very displeased with the amount that we paid to stay for 3 nights. We did not leave due to the amount that we paid out and the length of time we spent to get from our hometown to the location. Had we not had spent so much to stay here we would have gone and stayed somewhere else. We have had better experiences in a hotel and it wouldn't have cost so much.

P.S. We did reach out to customer service through phone call and text.

Traveled 1500 miles to a (paid for) rental home only to find a swamp in the pool and the listing terminated by the company! Imagine trying to find another place after driving 20 hours in 95 degree temps. Was given the run around for 4.5 hours as I sat in my car that heated to a scorching 98! Quickly got on Airbnb and found a place in less than 20 minutes! How easy will my refund be refunded by Vacasa? Not holding my breathe! Scam or not, don't risk it and go through what I did! I will never book with anyone other than Airbnb in the future!

The beach cottage we chose in Galveston TX on Tuesday 6-20-2023 was beautiful and after we unpacked the air conditioner broke, we waited until 8-9p and relocated to another house where the air conditioning was broke and ants were eating termites. Relocated again (same night with 2 kids) to another house that hadn't been cleaned and smelled like mildew. So we were relocated to the 4th location at 12:30am to a decent house.
Check out time time was not discussed due to all the relocating, so on Friday 6-3-2023 the women who clean the houses banged on the door and let themselves in screaming that it was checkout time ( scared my daughter she ran to our bedroom) most unprofessional women I have ever met. I went outside to catch them as they left and they screamed at me to get out. So we packed our things as quickly as possible to get out. As we were loading the car the house alarm was going off like crazy and didn't stop! It was complete chaos the morning we left. The entire ordeal dealing with Va $#*! was a complete nightmare and we will never use them again!

Nice, but needs improvements

We stayed in Gulf Shores, Seawind, in June. The overall place was nice but we had so me issues. The bands were not in out rooms. There was what look like blood stains on our comforter, the floor still had sand all over it, the blender still had tequila in it, and the last running the elevator was very rude. We weren't the only guest to think so. They need to make sure the rooms are completely clean before the guest enter.

False advertising

We rented a condo through vacasa in Ocean City MD mid June 2023. We totally went with the cheapest price and knew the property looked a little undesirable. We were only going to be there for a couple of days and planned on being on the beach most of the time anyway. They advertised free cable, free WiFi and laundry facilities which we totally planned on using. We didn't plan on the weather being so crappy. It rained and was cold the whole time we were there except for the morning we left.
First thing we noticed when walking in the door was the musty smell. Then we noticed one of the bedrooms floor was damp. Not a great start.
Due to the weather we stayed in most of the time and tried to watch the cable that was advertised…. Never got to. The guide showed us what programs were on, but the channels would not load. I went to buy a hdmi cable so I could stream from my computer to the tv, but the WiFi advertised, couldn't handle that. In fact, the WiFi couldn't handle simple cell phone browsing.
Then there was the laundry issue! We got two keys from vacasa, one for the condo and one for the shared laundry room. My wife and I went around the property looking for the laundry room and found nothing but what looked like condo entryways. So we called vacasa and waited over an hour for them to say they didn't know. So, no laundry was done.
I know that my experience would be soooo much different and better had the weather cooperated, but still pretty irritating.
Not everything was bad. The place was pretty clean, though it felt dirty because of how old and in disrepair the condo was in. AC, microwave, fridge and coffee maker all worked.
View was nice from the front deck!
Probably not going to use vacasa in the future.

I was going to get set up with them and they completely sucked. Fast forward to today (year later) they send some rude $#*! lady into my house that they gave the code to and I was able to ask her what she was doing in my house and she got an attitude and at first didn't want to tell me who she was but then said Vacasa sent her and was just rude AF. She then text me because I guess Vacasa gave my number and still continue to be rude. We thought this crackhead was breaking into our house.

We had to move from the cabin we booked because the bath tubs and toilets were backed up with nasty water. They didn't move us until 1am and when I was contacted about the place they were moving to I was told it was easy to get to and I didn't need 4 wheel drive. This wasn't the case not only did they move us to an extremely difficult place to get to it was 40 mins away from everything. I called them immediately after getting in the new place because I was so tierd and scared because we were sliding down the road were it had been raining. They told me they couldn't do anything about it and the local manager was supposed to call and talk to me but never did.

Island Echos

Island Echos 6NO in Ft. Walton, FL is managed by Vacasa. We checked into a filthy condo! Nothing was clean. My pictures speak for themselves. Yes, that is a pizza box in the closet. Housekeeping is a joke. A couple was sent up to re-clean. They did nothing but sneak out the first chance they got. We went to the store and bought cleaning supplies and did it ourselves. The kicker is they put those dirty sheets you see on the bed. Those are replacement sheets! We found everything under the beds and couches, empty bottles, flyers, food, random trash. The condo itself was beautiful, but I didn't pay good money to live in other people's filth. We reached out to the local and corporate Vacasa office, we are still waiting on them to make it right. Also, guess what? Our booking of this unit has magically disappeared from the app. If you are going to delete our booking you need to be deleting the charge for this place.

I would give this dump a rating of 0 if possible. Bayside oasis, Montego bay in ocean city md. Checked in at 3:30 on 6/19 with husband and theee grandchildren. Rolling door into bathroom was off track, no hot water, filthy dirty, only 1 fork in silverware drawer, dishes that were there were filthy dirty, air conditioning only worked in half of the place, only two hand towels, molding coming off the walls, windows left open and some with no screens in windows! Started calling vacasa office at 3:37 pm and made at least 15 calls. Was told so many times that door would be fixed in "30 minutes". Can't even open or shut the door all the way so there's no privacy! Finally got an answer at 7:55 that contractor wouldn't be there until 9:00 the next morning! They said they couldn't move me anywhere because there was nothing available, which I find very hard to believe! Supposedly the cleaning crew was there before we checked in but there no way that happened! VERY disappointed and will never book with vacasa again! Stay away from these people!

I rented a location through Airbnb that was hosted by Vacasa. When I arrived the keys for the locks were missing and the doors were unlocked. While this was disturbing it was handled. Two days later the gate to the property malfunctioned and we had to call Vacasa. They just just push it open and leave it. After checking out they did not communicate with us but unbeknownst to me blocked me from being able to rent through them.
Over a year later I book another location through Airbnb hosted by Vacasa. They accept the booking and take my money then send a message saying they will not host me but reduce to cancel the reservation and try to force me to cancel so that I only receive a partial refund claiming the refund policy is Airbnbs fault not theirs even though they set the policy and they are responsible to cancel if they refuse to host. Terrible customer service and terrible experience. Never book through Vacasa.

Refused to provide maintenance

Poorly maintained and managed.
Arrived to the condo and immediately noticed a rotten stench in the air. We determined it was coming from the dishwasher and sink. The drainage was clogged. We notified Vacasa and requested maintenance. They gave us a lot of excuses and never sent a maintenance person. We had to go mask the scent with cleaners and clean out the stinking sink ourselves.

Vacasa never explained why the did not send maintenance. And they flat refused to provide any compensation for our troubles.

If you rent from Vacasa you need to be prepared to repair any maintenance issue on your own. Because Vacasa will refuse to help
