My husand I visited Bar Harbor and arrived late to find our Airbnb filthy dirty. We asked if we could stay somewhere else and they said the only option was a hotel room and that they would reimburse our stay. Well, the only available option for the night was a hotel that was over $300 per night. We got verbal confirmation from the manager that we would get reimbursed and not to worry. Well, it's been over a month and they won't return my calls and of course are denying reimbursement. I will never ever deal with this company again, be aware!
The location of the unit in Panama City Beach can't be beat. But, We had an awful time trying to actually get into the unit. The door code lock did not work. We contacted Vacasa multiple times and were given the run around. No one came to fix the door lock. We were outside for an hour before the cleaning lady came and gave us the code to the physical key lock box. We retrieved the physical key and were able to get in. We went to the beach and locked the physical key in the lock box for safe keeping. When we returned the lock box would not open even with the correct code entered. Somehow it was stuck or rusted. Again we called Vacasa and they could have cared less. We were asked to send pictures of the locks which we did. Then silence, no reply. We had to pry open the lock box for the key. Keep in mind that it is burning hot outside which made for extreme frustration. Vacasa's customer service is awful. They wouldn't help in any way whatsoever.
Never use this company. I was bored in to a gross, dirty, smelly place. I have them a weeks heads up to make sure it was clean due to past reviews, they didn't clean. My family and I decided we couldn't be comfortable in such a dirty place so we left to stay in a condo. I called vacasa asking for a refund being that we didn't stay due to their lack of customer satisfaction. They said no, so we lost out on that money. Very shameful. If you're wrong then make it right to your customers.
While the house is beautifully located with a fully stocked kitchen and as pictured in the photos the management company Vacasa is the worst. The home was filthy upon our arrival for our week stay. After over an hour in the Vacasa main office, a crew of cleaners were sent to clean our rental. They did waive the cleaning fee and contributed towards dinner while we awaited our rental to be cleaned, however, with improved communication, we would not have had our initial exposure to our rental as dirty and filthy. There was a lack of basic cleaning commodities in the rental. Little toilet paper, no paper towels or dish soap, sponges, dishwasher pods or even a single bottle of cleaning spray or disinfectant. The microwave and central vacuum system were broken. To our surprise, a new microwave arrived and was installed mid-week, however, we received no, no communication, that workers would be occupying our space. A heads up would have been greatly appreciated. I will never rent from Vacasa again, it was honestly one of the worst experiences and for the amount of money we spent, it was unacceptable.
The worse place I have ever worked. I saw a lot of shady dealings there. Do not work here. Run as fast as you can!
We signed up with Vacasa in August 2022 after Marriott Hotels and villas referred us. The intake person said they charge 10%, but the local account who sold us hard, tried for 20%, and agreed to 15%. They sold us on the personalized report with annual estimated revenue, along with the carefree, hands off freedom that would come with their team, including their local & very experienced Malibu mgt team & his resources. We were supposed to be up on their sites within 1 month (by Oct 2022). Then they fired the local mgr & added a new "onboarding" person. After many hours & more meetings with him, he too got fired & we started all over AGAIN w/ "onboarder" #2 & manager #2. It ultimately took hundreds of hours of OUR time to stage twice (1st time they forgot to do the walk thru video), give them all amenity details 3x (1st to local mgr, then to onboarder 1, then to onboard 2) and we finally went live on SOME platforms by Dec 2022. We were only on the same platforms we had been on (VRBO & Airbnb)... and Vacasa's own platform (which is really why they're doing this). They suddenly cut the estimated revenue by 2/3 of what their proposal said, and didn't get even ONE booking for us! By February 2023, we gave their team a 1 star review. They maybe used to be a good company, but now it's a disaster. They sell a fantasy, smoke & mirrors... are making a fortune & were the worst waste of time in a decade. STAY AWAY. They lie and are clueless.
The Airbnb listing for our place said we would only have to pay $2 per person for the rec center but when we got there it was $10 per person. Hoping for some information as to why this was inaccurate in the listing, we reached out to Vacasa. They did not acknowledge the problem and asked us to visit their website for why we were wrong. We were provided a trip manager AFTER purchasing the Airbnb which said it would be $8. The fact that they couldn't accept that this was their problem and that the listing in Airbnb should have been updated was the frustrating part. Would not suggest this as your management company and you should stay away from them if you are booking a place, even if through Airbnb.
The place was great. Some suggestions: I was never told the key was in a lockbox until I was frantically calling various foreign numbers as my plane was taking off for my visit. Given the other comments, I'm amazed I was able to reach someone. Luckily I did.
The shower: the walls are completely bare. No soap dish, no place to hang a washcloth. Also no grab bars! And I think a bathmat rather than the wooden thing would be better in a place as damp as Seattle.
Do not rent from Vacasa! They had a house listed in Kenwood, CA called Casa Del Azul. This place is so run down and in need of so much maintenance. Vacasa has listed images of a house that no longer looks like the photos and the fact they they keep using these as false advertising is appalling. The house has been neglected for a long time and I don't want anyone else to get tricked into staying here. The front path has a wall on both sides of over 6ft tall grass and the majority of the property looks like this along with several large dead trees. The main entry is missing a large majority of the stones and there is more dead shrubbery in the planters at the entry. It looks like there is either water damage or soot from the wildfires around the majority of the house. It sounded like someone was in the house on our arrival in a room off of the office. When I contacted Vacasa they assured me we should be the only ones there. There was also a vehicle in the front drive. Additionally there was so much bird feces and cigarettes (non-smoking property) on patio and patio furniture that we had to spend a while cleaning it so we could at least enjoy viewing the pond on the property. We had to sit on beach towels though because the chairs were that covered. We were not able to use the outdoor dining table, even though we had perfect weather, because there was so much bird and goose excrement. We were not able to lock the back door at all and the hot tub wasn't clean (it had literally become the frog pond) nor would you want to try and use it because of how tall the grass was all the way around it. I tried to reach out several times via their chat and a phone calls, but was unsuccessful reaching a solution to the many issues we had. I did not feel safe here and do not recommend the company. I will never stay at a Vacasa property again! Be aware that they can be the leasing company for rentals listed through VRBO.
I recently stayed at a property that was listed as waterfront/riverfront. That is a lie, when I reached out to customer service rhey refused to do anything about it. I will stick with Airbnb.
We booked a condo over 3 months ago at the Emerald Grand Condo's in Destin Fl. We all had been counting down the days to be able to experience our first time there. Some of us traveled over 4 hours and others traveled further. We don't get to spend as much time together as we would like due the the distance. We had arrived in Destin to check out the shops and to grab lunch. We had just gotten our food and it was about an hour and half before check and we were notified that our room was cancelled due to a pest problem (bedbugs)No sorry, no empathy whatsoever. Keep in mind we booked our room for 4th of July week, so when I say there was nothing available, i mean nothing. The travel agency hung up on us twice and had zero interest i helping us in any way. The travel agency said they had know about the problem for a week but had treated it, but it didn't take care of it. This all could have been avoided it when they were aware of the situation which would have given us the option of finding an alternative place to book. I also didn't mention in our party we had someone with a trachea and a special needs person. After searching all day we finally found a place at 8:00 p.m. This place is a joke and I will tell as many people as I can and on every platform I can find to NEVER use this travel company. If there was a way I could give 0 stars I would!
Do not book with this company it's one inconvenience after another they do not respond they are not responsible for anything they'll tell you the building then the building will tell you it's the casa ask for a manager refuse to give me a manager absolute horrible experience our elevators were down there was no parking at the building someone took our parking spot no one would do anything about it our air conditioning did not work we spent over 8 hours locked out of our condo the building wouldn't help because I changed our door code without alerting us
This was our first time using vacasa and will definitely be the last. 25 minutes before check in we received a notification letting us know that the pool water at our rental was a "little murky". The pool was completely green and unable to see the bottom. We rented the property specifically for the pool since we had 3 young children with us. I continuously called the service number and they kept telling me they would put me in touch with the home office but no one ever called back. The pool company came out to treat the pool on day 3 and 4 but the pool never cleared during our 7 day stay. After asking for days to be moved they finally responded on day 4 with 2 property options. They were supposedly "comparable properties" but both locations had a maximum occupancy of 8 people (we had 9 in our party) and did not have enough beds to sleep everyone. The pool was the biggest issue but the grill has a hole in it to which you could see the propane tank from the top (this was finally replaced on day 4 after they sent maintenance people out to try and "repair it" even though I had provided pictures that it could not be fixed), the "screened in pool" has multiple sections of screen missing, the outside was overgrown with grass and weeds, and the pool area had grass and weeds growing up through the concrete. Clearly the property is not cared for and dealing with vacasa was a horrible experience. I spent 3 days of my "relaxing" vacation dealing with them and the pool was never fixed. THEN we come home and the review for the previous renters was posted to Airbnb and the issues were the same yet they were relocated after 2 days. I will never rent through this property management rental company again.
Rented a home in San Antonio. The problem was someone supposedly related to the owners entered the home unannounced while we were there! We were shocked and of course this violated the rental agreement. Vacasa couldn't have cared less. They just said they would forward to the local office and we never heard anything!
This condo should never have been rented
No shades on windows
Painter tape up on the wall
Called to ask for maintenance no help from management company
If you employe Vacasa to manage your rental property and it's destroyed well that what you deserve for not reading the reviews.
Absolutely the worst rental agency in the United States.
They don't vet your clients. They don't return calls. They do not care.
The Kona Bali Kai in Kailua kona Hawaii is 20 yards from a busy highway
Well who could sleep
Going to get a change is a referral to booking. Com who is difficult to contact
They take no responsibility for the issue and just turf their responsibility
It's their way to blow you off
Vacasa and booking.com both blame each other for the breach of contract. We left Kona Bali Kai after two days.
We contacted customer service to notify them that the blinds had big missing pieces leaving us with no privacy in our room. They never offered to fix the issue. Contacted them 4x as people could see in. They refused to refund our money so we could relocate & still never fixed the blinds despite their policy that damages are to be reported. We could not even get dressed in the room & had to go to the bathroom. This was our wedding Anniversary & our trip was ruined. Horrible customer service. Never rent from Vacasa!
4 hours into our 8 hour trip to our reserved location, reserved for months prior to out trip, received a text letting us know our rental would not be available due to maintenance issues. They offered us a replacement cabin that was in the middle of nowhere and given we had already travelled 4 hours, taken time off work for this, we had no choice to accept the cabin they offered. When we arrived at the replacement cabin there was trash everywhere, which took them 2 days to clean up. All the ceiling fixtures had cobwebs and had not been dusted for a while. I will never, and suggest you do also, avoid making any reservations with this company.
We reserved an oceanfront condo in Ormond Beach, FL through VRBO owned by Vacasa. I didn't know until they gave me access to their app that the balcony door was broken by previous guests and it was unusable and would not be fixed until November. This was 18 days before our arrival. I emailed Vacasa and did not get a response so I called and someone was supposed to call me back within 72 hours to let me know if it would be fixed or not. No one called. I contacted them again, they said it would be fixed but when I finally got a response to my email 6 days later, it said the door would not be fixed until November. Called them again...said the door would be fixed but couldn't give proof. I told them I just wanted to cancel since they can't seem to give a straight answer and they told me that since it was within 14 days of arrival, no refund is given. Their cancellation policy on the listing said "14 days or longer--100% refund, more than 7 days--50% refund". I wasn't aware of the broken door until 18 days prior to arrival and I contacted them immediately. At the very least, we should get a 50% refund but when I asked again, I was told that since it was within 30 days of arrival, we would not qualify for a refund. It appears their cancellation policy changes to suit their needs. These people are crooks and don't care who they rip off. I am still trying to get a refund but I'm afraid it's not going to happen. That's $2000 down the drain.
Answer: It's a monster scam. Avoid at all costs. I've rented several properties that ended up going through Vacasa - despite my best efforts to avoid them. You can't find out that it's Vacasa until after they have your money. It's a criminal enterprise.
Answer: In my experience, construction is their "catch all" excuse for canceling. Follow up to verify that it was rented, but for higher fee.
Answer: I am not sure but for the renter (not the owners) the fees may be charged without full disclosure.
Answer: Bad bad bad worst service I ever got at a short term rental
